My reason for buying these earphones was to use while flying cross country for business and my old earphones no longer worked. I've used noise canceling headphones in the past, but they are bulky and require batteries to enable the noise canceling feature. Earphones act like earplugs with speakers and are far smaller than headphones. The S4i-II's are quite small and laying your head on a pillow with them in doesn't cause any discomfort.
The drawback to earphones with a built-in microphone is using that microphone. Your voice is so loud with the earphones in it is tough to hold a conversation, while at the same time very useful in a crowded area. I was at home while on the phone with little noise in the background. I took one ear out to make my talking more bearable. The people on the other side of the conversation had no problem hearing me so the mic is working properly.
The earphones come with a couple different sizes of silicone ear flanges, a case (which could be a bit larger, and a shirt clip. The clip is fairly flat and is great for keeping the mic closer to the top of your shirt.
As far as the sound quality is concerned I have primarily used the earphones to watch in flight movies so I can't report the sound quality fairly.
The fit is also not the best for my ears. Though the ovular tips are comfortable, they seem to fall out of my ears by just sitting there. I would recommend buying replacement tips (I've read that Comply Tx100 foam tips are excellent). The cord is a bit heavy so that may be contributing to the loose fit.
They are not quite as fragile as I assumed from reading some reviews and the tangle free cord is working perfectly. Cord noise is a little noticeable if you look for it, otherwise it isn't any louder than normal IEM.
To summarize: these are high quality earbuds that sound at least 100 dollars more than they cost. The tips are comfortable but tend to fall out and the cord is functional but heavy. Since I got such a bargain, I am extremely happy with them so far. Cheers.
These are in-ear headphones that come with 3 different adaptors to fit your ear size. When fitted correctly, you will not be able to hear much once you start playing music - the s4i II's isolate you from outside sounds, which is perfect for what I was looking for but it is also something you should know; if you need "pass-through" earbuds that let outside sound in (for bike riding, jogging, etc.) these are not what you want.
I'm not an audiophile like my brothers are, I don't pay much attention to actual frequency ranges and such - what matters to me is if the music I listen to sounds good, and with the s4i II's everything I listen to (a wide range of music from EDM to classic rock, pop, and even some hip hop) sounds superb. Feature-wise the flat cable works as advertised - it doesn't get tangled no matter how I toss the earphones into my backpack when not in use. Also the controls work perfect with my phone. These are great sounding earphones that are priced right.
NOTE: I now use these with a Fiio E07K Andes USB DAC and Portable Headphone Amplifier Black and together they both bring out the best out of my music collection!
The noise canceling is also great, much better than my Sony MDR-7506 headphones ($100).
EDIT: The volume control buttons all stopped working and the sound cuts out if I hold the cord a certain way. The jack is VERY stiff so over a few months it was worked down to this condition. If only the guys at Klipsch made a higher quality jack then this would have 5 stars.
Fortunately, Klipsch is good about replacing them promptly when you complain and does not require returning the old ones IF you purchase them from a AUTHOERIZED DEALERS. Amazon is one of them but some Amazon suppliers are not. Checking their web site first will avoid having to replace them out of your own pocket. You can look it up here:

Rock on!
AS FOR THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT EXCESS NOISE when in the ear....
Yes, there is noise when you wear these and move, all from the cord hitting your chest and clothing. HOWEVER, this is the case with ALL earbuds of the same design. There is no way to have a perfect seal in your ear AND no noise from movement, as the sound vibrations from the rubbing on your clothing directly passes into your ear from the direct seal created by the perfectly sized earbuds. EVERY PAIR of sound-isolating earbuds I have ever used (from $10-$250) have this flaw, and there is nothing (currently) to be done. THIS IS NOT A KLIPSCH PROBLEM, and the reviewers who claim this to be faulty manufacturing or faulty design are wrong.
Overall, YES. I would recommend these to a friend. They sound great for their price and provide a great microphone and easy buttons.
1. Cord Noise - Yes I also thought "how bad could it be" Well, it was bad enough that I could not get by it. Your tolerance may be far better than mine.
2. Sound quality - Yes I understand if you're skeptical, I would be also since these headphones have such a good reputation for good sound quality. Regardless I found them to be very lacking in volume and clarity. Especially when directly compared to the Apple headphones included with my iPhone 5S. They have far superior sound quality but do a very poor job with sound isolation which is why I decided to replace them.
It's your choice, take a chance on them if you're curious. You may be happy with them, or you may end up paying the restocking fee like I did...
SIDENOTE: these also work with Android devices if you download the Klipsch connect app.
However, what got me to writing this review and what completely sealed the deal for me was their customer service. My headphones actually busted out on me after 6 months, the evil one side stopped playing. Their website tells you to go to the retailer that you had purchased to work things out, but they also provided an e-mail address. I figured I'd go the e-mail route. A few days later someone contacted me asking for proof of purchase. I sent it. Next day, they started an order for a brand new pair of headphones to be sent to me. 2 days later it was received by me. That is what I call, amazing customer service. In attaining this wonderful customer service however, I'd recommend making sure that they are an authorized dealer, which you can find the list on the klipsch website. And keeping the receipt! I'd highly recommend them to anyone!
wires seem to generate alot of noise as you move about..
control is alot larger than it needs to be
Ear fit: every single piece included with the earbuds falls out of my ear with the slightest head movement. I can't even walk without fixing them constantly
Weight: the weight of the cord is too great for the fit inside my ear, so the wight itself pulls the earbuds out.
Sound: after burning in the earbuds for approx. 15 hours at 75% volume, they still don't sounds as nice as my old apple headphones.
Also, whenever you rub the cord against ANYTHING, it sounds like an earthquake in your ear.
The length of the cord is far longer than it needs to be, and wobbles around all the time. Im not trying to listen to music i a separate room from my device, it just sits in my pocket.
Bottom-line: these headphones are essentially unusable, and i highly regret buying them. it was a waste of 30$
My only disappointment with Klipsch headphones in the past is that they did not take wear and tear well. These headphones seem to be less flimsy (especially around joints), although I will now be storing my headphones in the convenient little fabric pouch Klipsch has started including.
So far, the product have held up although just by looking at them, they don't inspire confidence. Microphone is clear. They are quite comfortable in ears even after wearing them for long periods. They are generally targeted not for audiophiles but for the average user and a very slight upgrade from apples earpods. Bass is decent, microphonics is below average worn straight down without a clip although isolation is not that bad. The case could've been better. I prefer the older metal tin case, the new soft case are rather pedestrian and indicative of a cost saving exercise.
Amazon was great, refunded me amount and sent a second pair... which I was again happy with until the same issues arose in less than 2 months. This seems to be symptomatic to this model from klipsch, which is sad, because they could be great.
In all, they are great headphones if you think the price justifies and exceptionally short lifespan.
would not recommend or buy again for such an expensive product. I expected more.
I ended up returning this product.
PROS:
-9/10 bass
-8/10 mids
-comfortable oval shaped buds
-includes a case
-does not get tangled at all
CONS:
-The treble is way too high. At times, when a singer sings a word with the letter "s" or "c" its painful and too sharp. I have tried adjusting it with my equalizer, doesn't help.
-For those audiophiles out there, some earphones gives of a high pitch ring when music is played through the earphones. These S4i II does the same.
-Personally, I like earbuds with big drivers. This, in my opinion, is too small for me.
-LOTS of cord noise while walking.
The best earbuds I ever had was the Sony HPM-70. But don't take my word for it. This is just my opinion. I like earbuds that have a big radius where the sound comes through.
First, the "tangle-free" cord adds a lot of noise whenever anything touches it. The cord is also really heavy which leads to the second problem.
Second, the headphones never stay in my ear. I tried all the different attachments and nothing helped. Because the cord was heavy and the attachments much different than the older version, the headphones kept popping out.
Third, the sound quality does not compare to the older version. The noise-isolation is near to non-existent possibly because of the second problem.
Overall recommendation: don't buy it. If you want these headphones go for the older version.
quick note the jack on them does not sit very well in the ipod so evrytime i move it the audio cuts for a milisecond can be annoying in rapid succession maybe if it is longer or redesign it.
