I purchased these in July 2014, I enjoyed them at first. The sound was great and although I experienced issues with them falling out because of the weight of the cord and remote, all-in-all I was satisfied. Now 7 months later they just stopped working. One minute they were working fine, then I unplugged them from my computer and put them in my phone and it was like being inside a tin can. Now they won't work properly on any device.
Klipsch won't stand behind their warranty because I did not buy them from an "authorized dealer." (I bought them from a third-party seller on Amazon) They suggested that in the future I check with them to verify that I'm using an authorized dealer, but instead I'm these headphones with a pair of Bose washing my hands of Klipsch.

I ordered this product 6 months ago. While it worked, it worked well. Then suddenly the sound went haywire. I contacted Klipsch since I believed that the product came with a warranty. Klipsch notified me that since the seller was not an authorized seller, they would not honor the warranty. You can get the same product for the the same price on Best Buy (they are an authorized seller). Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware)

These are very good headphones. I use them in the gym and broke them once. Klipsch replaced them with a newer model without a hassle. Very good quality and very good service. What do you want more?

Got a Faulty headset. I ordered the headset and i am out of the country for 4 weeks. When i returned and opened the shipment, i am surprised to find the headsets are not working properly. When i tried to return the shipment it was said that returning window is closed a few days back. HAve no Idea what to do with this faulty headset

I was basically looking for a pair of ear plugs which sound neutral. No special effects, no extra bass or treble. Just something that reproduces sound faithfully. Having read the reviews, I ended up buying these. It was a decision primarily driven by the raving reviews that this product receives from CNET and other websites. Alas, all of them were put wrong.
The build quality is spot on for a pair of ear phones at this price point. They are comfortable to wear and one would hardly notice these plugs in their ears. The flat cable is quite good in the sense that it is tangle free. The pluses end there.
The sound quality is awful. It is too much treble and loaded with too much of higher frequency. It is so severe that even with a bass boost equiliser setting on my iPod, I am still finding it tuned for too much treble. The sound reproduction is much better and neutral in the stock earphones that came with the iPod. Agreed that there is enhanced clarity, but then the balance is so wrong and so heavility tilted in high, very high and extremely high treble territories that it is not an experience one expects out of a 50 dollar earphones.
The mid-tones sounded horrible, albiet with clarity. They fall in the same league as the el-cheapo, pink colored, feeble 3 dollar earphones, with that distinct old age telephone speaker accents to the mid-range.
Coming to the lower frequencies, Klipsch seem to have forgotten what it is all about when they designed these. I am not too much into bass. But, a balance sound does demand a proper reproduction of treble, mid and bass - that's when music is enjoyable. With bass completely absent in these, it was not enjoyable at all.
30 minutes of listening and guess it is enough for a lifetime. Sincere thanks to CNET for getting me into this. Never taking your reviews anymore.

The headphones themselves are great. However, I have owned two pairs have broken in less than 6 months. Same problem both times - the buttons on the microphone stop working.

Not an expert of headphones, but have several and though I like this would not recommend if planning to run at all as cords can be very loud. Still use along when at home or in car, but that's about it

I love these headphones! This is my second pair of Klipsch in-ear headphones and they never fail to disappoint. They are fantastic at blocking environmental noise and have a very clear sound. I just wish there was a separate button to skip to the next song because the middle button doesn't always work.

I don't usually write reviews unless there's a real reason to, so why am I writing one on this item that I purchased back on May 2013? BECAUSE I JUST PUT IT THROUGH THE WASHER AND DRIER LAST NIGHT BY ACCIDENT AND IT STILL WORKS. HELL YES. Other notable points: Decent sound, great for the gym especially with the little clip it comes with, and I use this with Apple equipment so the volume and play / pause buttons work (doesn't work if you're using android I believe?) I've taken calls with this while the office has been loud and was able to zone out the noise, hunker down, and concentrate. Additionally, my dog also managed to chew off a set of the rubber buds and, lucky for all of us, these headphones come with a set of different size buds so I just placed new ones one (larger ones, granted). 1.5 years later and still elated!

Pros:
- Excellent comfort. Klipsch's earphone tips are still the most comfortable from any earphones I've used.
- Great fit, the headphones fit snugly and rarely ever fall out. I wear them to the gym for running and weights, traveling on the plane, and for everyday work.
- Great sound for the price
Cons:
- Microphone not ideal
- Remote center button hard to use. I've been using these headphones for almost 2 years now and still can't get the triple-click control down (always confuses it as two clicks if you click to quickly)
- Cord noise. The cord generates a lot of noise with any contact. This can get some getting used to, but I wouldn't say it's unbearable
- Durability!! This is by far my biggest complaint. They are great headphones but they don't last. I've gone through two pairs of these S4i's now and both times they only lasted 9 months. The buttons on the remote stop working and eventually one earbud just stops working all together. Seems like an issue mainly with the cord.
If you view earphones as consumption goods and wouldn't mind replacing them every 9-12 months, this is a great purchase.

incredible sound quality. I've owned these same headphones multiple times, but the iphone version is complete crap. it fell apart day 2. the white rubber part surrounding the headphones themselves became detached and are so uncomfortable that I cannot use them. see photo

The headphones themselves are good. They sound great and are very comfortable. The flat cables aren't as good as the version 1's round cables but that isn't the end of the world.
However the left side of these shorted out and stopped working within a week of light use. I would imagine this is a rare occurrence and not the end of the world. After contacting Klipsch directly, they didn't seem to care. They seemed perfectly content with losing a customer who has purchased their products for years as long as they didn't have to own up to a defective product.
I'll never support this company again and I would advise you not to either.

Considering the price, built quality and well-balanced sound this is a good set of in-ear headphones. However, the 3 sets of different sizes ear tips that came with the headphones didn't to fit my ears well so I invested on a pair of "Comply(tm) Foam Tips". Previously own a set of Sennheiser MM 70 i Ear Canel Headset (Black) which served me well for 4 years and ear tips came with the headphones fits me perfectly and the sound is much more preferred to suit the music genres that I listen to from Jazz (Hard bop/Bossa Nova), House (Deep House/Dance Anthems), R&B (Adult Comtemporay), Hip Hop, Rock (Heavy Metal/Soft Rock) to pretty much a little bit of everything else in between etc.
Price (8/10): Affordable price.
Built (6/10)" Quality built overall. Average ear tips that came with the product. Durable so far after 3 months.
Sound (7/10): High and mids are clear, however the bass could a be bit more beefy
Comfort (6/10): Lightweight but didn't like the angle of how they're inserted into your ear canal which makes it too loose. Not ideal for joggers.
Price (8/10): Affordable price.

I purchased these believing in the reviews & the brand as being a quality brand. However, after a few months of use primarily on international flights the left earbud just stopped working! I contacted Klipsch & was still under warranty, however they would NOT replace them because Amazon is "not an authorized seller." WOW, so first of all way to stand behind your product & also take care of the customer. The sound however was good, but not compared to other mid tier earbuds that are cased in wood for better sound. I would have been better off buying a cheaper headphone if they won't even last a year & the same quality can be had for a cheaper price. Needless to say I think I purchased my last Klipsch product.

My wife bought me these headphones on Amazon over a year ago. At first they worked great, then the right ear bud stopped working and recently the left ear bud has failed. This would be fine if these headphones had cost less than $50.00, but my wife paid over $100.00 for this poor quality product. I have never written a negative review but these over priced, poor quality headphones don't even deserve a single star.

Amazing sound quality that rivals even my Bose headphones. I've purchased several of these for myself and family.
The cable easily untangles and the earbuds themselves are quite comfortable in the ear.
Sometimes they can block a lot of ambient noise so you may have to take them out if someone needs to speak to you. Thats certainly not a complaint though!

I love the sound of these headphones, they're super clear for everything I listen to (a lot of podcasts and audiobooks as well as pop/rock music). They're comfortable and the noise-isolation is great, I wear them on my motorcycle for hours at a time.
Unfortunately, they are not durable. I don't baby them, they get stuffed in my pocket and used every day commuting to work or around the house. I bought the S4i-I in 2012 and it worked for a little over a year before dying. So I bought a replacement S4i-II in September 2013. It sopped working in one ear within 4 months. Fortunately, Klipsch honored the warranty on both when I finally went through the process in Janauary 2014, which took a little over a month from first email to headphones arriving at my door. I think they've officially discontinued it now, so it'll be hard to get the warranty (NOTE: Klipsch only honors warranty on purchases from "authorized dealers").
Since then, one of the replacements has stopped working and I just started using the other. I'm buying another pair now for $52 knowing that the one I have will probably die soon. For as much as I love the sound and comfort, that's worth it for me.

What can I say, Klipsch has always had great products. The headphones are great and have amazing sound. The only gripe that I have is that after a while these headphones do go bad and the sound begins to get warped. I wish that for the money it would last longer, but I assume all headphones have to go at some point. Would have been nice to get a refund on this or a warranty swap due to the lack of sound quality after 8 months of use, but when it did work it worked GREAT.

The sound is great just like my older version of the S-4's but like my old pair they always seem to break. My new set is broken already! The remote doesn't work anymore and the sound cuts in and out as if the wiring is frayed.
I don't know if I should even try the warranty on the new pair (under 1 year) if they are just going to break again. Wish these were made better and didn't break all the time. I would recommend if only the build quality was par with the sound quality.

I am a grad student, probably have my headphones in 5-6 hours a day walking to class and studying. Bought these on sale as an upgrade to the stock Apple ear buds (the ones that come w the 5), been using them for about a week. Pretty happy with them so far.
These are very comfortable and fit me well; noise isolation is great once you find the right earbuds to fit your ear (they include 4 different sizes). I have been using them as earplugs at times, w no music playing - that's how good the isolation is for me. Much more comfortable than Apple's. No problem wearing them for hours on end. The remote buttons are a little harder to "find" vs Apple's, because they are discrete buttons. The whole remote doesn't click like Apple's version, if that makes sense. But you get used to it. The cord is a little longer than Apple's, which I like.
Two reasons why I gave 4 stars, instead of five:
- The remote is further down the cord, i.e. down where the cord splits to go to each ear, not up the right ear cord like Apple's. So, it hangs a lot lower - to the point where it will be inside your jacket, if you like to zip your cord up into your jacket (which I do). This won't be a problem for everyone, though. I talk on the phone like 3 times a year, so couldn't tell you if it affects mic reception.
- The cord chatter is pretty bad. Like, really bad. You hear the cord talking if you move to type, turn a page, take a step, whatever. It was almost unbearable for the first few days, maybe I'm just getting used to it now. The sound quality is generally great, but you will notice the thuds and scratches when the cord hits anything. The only area where the stock headphones are better.
At $40, these are real tough to beat. At $99, you can probably do better. The chatter is really the only downside. I use them as my everyday pair and am generally pleased. But the next iteration needs some cord insulation or something...

Great Headphone. Always keeps falling out of ear, the ear peices keep falling off. lost 3 inside my ear and had to pull them out. tried different sizes and nothing kept falling off. bought replacement off brand ear peices and klipsch replacement but still the same problem.

the factory will hardly support you although it has warranty! I had the same issue with my recent klipsch on ear headphones which went wrong after 2 months! and the main factory does not change it although on the original pack it says that it has 2 years warranty

I just brought the S4i-II today and I cannot overstate how superb these are for sound quality and value. Noise isolation is great with the included ear bubs, but I will experiment with the foams buds to determine if the sound can be better (although I can't imagine it being that much better). I did not buy from Amazon, which I normally try to do due to the cost savings. I purchased mine from my neighborhood Best Buy; only because I lost my old pair yesterday and didn't want to wait for the two-day shipping to get the earphones (that just proves how bad I missed these earphones...fiending in only one day with that amazing sound lol). I brought the older version (S4i) a few years ago and was very happy with them. Too my surprises the S4i-II version was actually quite cheaper ($54.99 verse $99.99 that I previously paid) than the S4i version I brought a few years ago. I was very surprised of this! It seems like all of the Klipsch products have gone down in price. I also think the sound quality of the newer version (S4i-II) is slightly better. You cannot beat this brand for sound quality verse price point. I have tried a varying amount of earphones and Klipsch beats most brands hands down for the money (they kicks Beats a$$ hands down without question for less than half the cost). I also own both versions of Klipsch's on-ear and over-the ear head phones and love them as well. I will never buy another brand! I use mine almost daily and whenever I travel. I cannot image my life without them...by far the best I have ever used hands down! I will buy a second pair as a back-up just in case I lose them again. This brand certainly has earned the name "keepers of the sound!"

Received these around late July, early August and they failed by mid-October. I'm not an audiophile, sound quality seemed fine, though it required frequent adjustment for the "right" fit in my ears. You'll need to clip the cable to your shirt to isolate the sounds of it rubbing against you as you walk and the volume controls are quite low so clipping it to a collar leaves too much slack. Also, the cable in general is too long and I found myself stuffing the slack into my pocket every time.
Over the last couple of days, I started to notice that audio was cutting out every couple of seconds, and then finally it cut a large range out altogether (could hear some background music but not voices, for example), making them unusable. Tested on two other devices to confirm it's the headphones.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend these, even if they hadn't just failed on me.

The sound is much better than typical ear-buds. The headphones come with 4 different sizes of ear-buds so you can find the ones that fit you best. These work great with an Apple iPhone as the controls adjust volume, play and pause music, skip songs forward and backward and has a microphone so you can answer phone calls without having to remove the ear-buds. The only drawback to these that I have experienced so far is the noise from the cord moving around and rubbing against you as you walk. That sound is amplified in the ear-buds and the only way to reduce it is to turn the volume up loud enough to drown it out. It's not awful but it is somewhat annoying. Maybe that is a common thing with ear-buds that go further into the ear canal.
I purposely didn't buy the new model as CNET reviewed them and said they were a bit too base-y. I wanted a good ear-bud without spending too much and these fit the bill.

Avoid these headphones. I owned a set of S4i's and really liked them. They have great sound quality, a good fit, have comfortable silicon buds and a nice design. They didn't last very long, about 7 months, before the cord got a short at the base and I had to stop using them. Then I got a pair of the X7i's, which are nearly identical to these but the buds are ceramic. I had them 2 weeks before the right bud stopped working. When I got these I didn't realize that they're essentially the same as the X7i's, and surprise surprise, after 3 weeks the corded remote stopped working, and 3 days after that the right bud stopped.
This is especially strange given the cord design. These have a broad, flat, "fettuccine" cord that is heavy and adds a huge amount of cord noise. When you turn your head or brush the cord past something, it sounds like a thunderstorm is happening in your ears. You'd assume that the trade off was made in favor of better gauge wires and improved build quality; apparently that's not the case. It makes their cord choice sort of baffling. I may give the original S4i's another shot, if only because they really are the best buds for the price, but don't get these, they're really shoddily made.

Fast shipping and delivered in quality packaging, so nothing against the seller. The actual headphones themselves are disappointing. The sound quality is average compared to my Shure's that i'm replacing (had two pair of Shure's that sounded amazing, but both stopped working with in a year and were replaced for free, but the replacements were shot with a year as well -- both failed at the connector). The silicon earbuds that come with the Klipsch would not stay in my ear and were poor at isolating out noise. I was about to return them when I tried my foam ear buds from the Shure's and that at least helped with isolating the noise and kept them in my ear. I think it helped with the sound quality as well. The flat cord is nice, but like someone else mentioned, you hear a lot of noise as the cable rubs against our cloths. I would have like longer lead wires from the split to the earbuds to be able to wrap the cord around my ear, helps with them being pulled out of your ear if you bump the cable. The inline remote works very well and as does the microphone.

Similar things happened to me as with many other users with issues. These broke 3 times in a little over a year. After the second replacement, Klipsch told me it was user error. The remote stopped responding for two of the times. One other time I lost sound. Don't use them for exercise or anything too rugged. Except that after it broke the third time Klipsch told me it was my fault. Better off staying away from these.
Besides, the wire noise you hear when moving around is horrible, making it impossible to hear the music unless you are completely still.

IMO, this earbud set is a bit overpriced for the quality of sound (tinny)...my Apple iPhone earbuds have better sound. I'm a heavy audiobook user, and these are still working...I think I've had then for about 9 months or so. What I DO like about these buds is that you can fast forward (two clicks and hold) and go backwards (three clicks and hold) through an audio book. Recently, occasionally none of the buttons would worked, but I found if I take out, then replace the earphone jack, the buttons start working again...minor inconvenience. I would recommend these earbuds for audiobooks, but not for music.

Another reviewer noted increased cord noise and it is only after wearing this exercise walking and going on a few airplane trips that I truly appreciate the magnitude of the issue. The new cords look great, are much tougher, and more resistant to tangling but man, are they ever noisy. The stiffness likely has something to do with this as they cord noise seems to echo up and down the main cord in the worst of cases. It is hard to acclimate to. It's possible but having the old pair here with me allows direct side-by-side comparison. And the new pair are much louder and twangy.

I bought this as a replacement for an original S4i I bought over 2 years ago for work. The left channel dropped out due to a wire break at the plug. I travel extensively and I need in-ear monitors for noise isolation on planes and I need the inline controls for phone and music. Of course, for music. My first pair were heavily used but not abused. The fact that they lasted this well under such demanding conditions was a factor in my purchasing this updated version. Prior to hitting the buy button, I researched in-ear phones up to $150 and ultimately found that this unit was reliable, had good sound quality, and good ergonomics. And it was one of the best values.
The sound is very good and entirely sufficient for the average adult user. The tonality is smooth and balanced but the bottom end would be considered weak by bass-heads for sure. But for jazz, world, vocals, pop, it is exactly what the doctor ordered.
The flat cables seem more robust with better strain reliefs. Everything seems more rugged all around without feeling like it's gained any bulk. The inline controls work flawlessly.
Today, there are numerous units in this price range ($50-$125) that will contend for your attention. There are numerous angles and niches (wood, socially conscious, hip/trendy, etc.) But if what you want is a great-fitting, great value, great sounding pair of "grown-up" in-ear monitors, you can't go wrong and you really can't do much better, especially for the price.

Worked fantastic until the day they didn't, about a year after I bought them (just after the manufacturer's warranty ended). Suddenly I had to twist the jack around to get even half sound, then they stopped working completely. Only used occasionally. Sounded great while they lasted.

Terrible durability. I bought brand new in original sealed packaging. Owned less than a year and the right earbud stopped working. I contacted Klipsch but they don't stand behind their products. I won't buy a Klipsch product again.

These headphones are what everyone should be wearing. They're not too bass heavy and have great mid-range sound. If it were just the sound, this product would get 5 stars. But, yes it is an iPhone headest, so it has all of the iOS commands on the remote (including play/pause, skip/rewind, volume up/down, and Siri). These headphones also come with a clip to attach the cord to, which I highly recommend using as it cuts down cord noise. It also relieves the weight of the headphones in-ear, as using them without the clip will cause them to fall out very easily. It comes with 4 size earpieces, and a nifty pouch for storage. However, the best part of this product has nothing to do with the product itself. It's the warranty. These headphones, the S4i-II, come with a 2 year warranty. And it's legit. My headphones stopped working back in late May, in early June I had a new pair. Klipsch is the best customer service I've ever dealt with. Totally recommend this product.

I bought it for my daughter around Thanksgiving and gave it to her as a gift during the holidays. For 2 months it worked great, but then the sound stopped coming out of the left ear bud. She contacted Klipsch, but they told her that "Quality Photo is not an authorized dealer", so they won't do anything to help her.

Second pair of "high end" ear buds I've purchased. Second pair to fail in the first year. In this case the pause button and phone speaker stopped working after 4 months. I purchased these items thinking they would last longer than cheap ones I've owned in the past. Now I'm convinced that ear buds in general are just not durable and will need to be replaced frequently.
If you want to spend 3 figured for some nice Bose or Beats over ear headphones, its not a bad idea (I own Bose now and like them a lot), but why spend $100-plus for a "disposable" product like ear buds? Might as well get the best $20 buds you can find.

Great sound, rich bass, comfortable, BUT this is my second pair to stop working after less than 6 months of normal use (walking around, commuting, 3-4 hours a week working out) in this case the mic and buttons stopped working, previously it was the left headphone. I'm giving up on these.

I bought these headphones in september 2014 and they have great sound and are comfortable. However they are now malfunctioning - only the middel tones are playing.
I must say that I expected far more from $85 earphones, and I will be thinking twice before buying Klipsch again.

Mediocre at best. You cannot lay down and listen to music with these. They collapse inside your ear and you no longer hear the one from the side you are laying on. Best ones at any price are just the Apple brand that comes with your iPhone.
