Bought this as a gift for my daughter. She loved the way it sounded but it broke after 3 months. Do not buy this.
Update - I called Klipsch, they were polite and sent a replacement. I changed this rating from 1 star to 3. Let's see how the new pair hold up.
Second Update: Replacement pair also failed. With prodding Klipsch agreed to replace them but told me it would be 3 months until they shipped. Apparently they save the inventory to sell to unsuspecting new customers before replacing their defective products to existing owners. We are in the market for a better brand.

i just decided to write a review now, i have read reviews on the headphones them seem good and heard good things about them. i ordered these on cyber Monday (yes i know this is a little late) and i still never got them i did get my money back. all i have to say is they seem like good headphones at a good price, but for me they were never delivered

Awesome earbuds, the sound is killer. Good sound isolation, and comfort.
The one thing i would say though, is that i am one of those people who have always had problems with earbuds falling out of my ear every 40 seconds if i'm walking around.
.... These are no different.. If you are walking (even if i try multiple tips) , the buds fall out of my ear, and need readjusting every 40 seconds.

After having a Bose Mie2I (U$ 129) that, after almost two years of wonderful use, started to have problems with the control in the cord (that was the only problem after so much use), I decided to try something new and I bought a similar item (similar price, also) and I bought this Klipsch Image S4i II Black. I received them on June, 11th of 2013 and, believe your or not, two weeks ago it started to show some problems with the phones: the sound was not getting out of it anymore! The sound quality is good and it is comfortable, but pay around U$ 100 to use a phone for 3 months is a JOKE!!!!! Now I paid U$ 150 in a Beats Tour 2.0 by Dre. It is not that comfortable, but the sound quality is amazing. I hope it lasts more than three months. I DEFINITELY DON'T RECOMMEND YOU THIS KLIPSCH S4i II. It is a PIECE OF S...

These buds sound great - as Klipsch almost always do.
Better cables and better build than any of the Klipsch in Ears I have had before, however not as comfortable.
The S4i and the S4i Reference are much more comfortable due to their curved shape. These just don't feel as great as the others did and they also like to fall out of my ears - no matter which size of ear-tips used.
Apart from that (and we all have different ears) they are absolutely worth every penny. Buy!

I don't know why really, but you should make sure get the ones made for your phones OS, so the buttons will function properly.

These headphones sound great when you're not moving. Any time the cable bounces off of your chest or rubs on clothing you can hear it in your headphones. A little obnoxious for $60 headphones

These headphones sound great and are quite comfortable. However, like many of the other one star reviews, they died on me in well under a year, with one of the channels going dead randomly. These weren't tugged and tossed about, they were always kept in their case. When I contacted Klipsch to replace or repair them, as they are well under warrantee, they told me they have no interest in standing by their product since the Amazon purchase was via a reseller. While Amazon is on the list of dealers, and they were purchased new via Amazon, they will not honor their warrantee. I advise anyone considering buying these to purchase a different brand. Take a look at the number of reviews with this issue- it's way too many, especially as Klipsch uses any loophole possible to avoid fairly dealing with customers.

Comfort and quality (on both the mic and the earpiece) are outstanding, and sound leakage is negligible -- a huge plus that facilitates listening at louder volumes without cluing others in.
Unfortunately, despite very light use on my daily commute, these simply stopped working after less than half a year.

Great sound they are great I've had the S4 they lasted me very very very long and great sound they finally went out so i got these just for the inline controls, lasted me about 2 months and went out I would recommend these if you don't use them to work out just to listen to music not much for a gym type of earbuds.

I originally purchased these for $99 and have been very happy with them...that is, until the buttons (mic, on/off, volume control) stopped working after 3 months of use. I contacted the company, but with no receipt or original packaging, I could not get them replaced or repaired. The sound is very good, the small earbuds are great and very comfortable, but they lost a huge amount of their function when the buttons died. I bought another pair since they are now 40% of their original price, but I would not pay $99 for them again, considering they may only last 3 months.

I don not recommend this pair of earbuds to anyone who is a little serious about sound quality.
This pair of Klipsch Image S4i earbuds is to replace my Shure SE 215. From the first impression, the look and feel is good. The flat cord is soft and tangle free, unlike my Shure's cord which becomes rigid, and tends to break in cold weather. However, when I put the earphone on, the sound is so dull, and lacks both bass and treble.
I owned Kilpsch image S4 old version before, which is twice as expensive than this new S4i. At lease the old S4 has pounding bass.

Sound is great and I like the accessories that come with it. But the silicon ear pieces that come with it either do not fit or they start to fall out so once and a while I have to push my headphones back in my ear. One thing I do not like about it is having the controls of the head phone right in the middle where my chest is. This is because when I work out the weights or machines would touch the controls and it would pause or change the volume.

After reading all the positive reviews I decided to order these. One thing that many of the other reviewers mentioned was that the bass was a little lacking. While I don't consider myself a bass lover or someone who listens to a lot of bass-heavy music, I thought these were pretty pathetic. They're slightly better if I hold them in my ears in just the right position but I'm obviously not going to do that all the time. I really like that the flat cord doesn't tangle but one thing I noticed was that it produced a lot of cord noise, even in normal temperatures. This is probably going to be a lot worse when it gets cold out. Maybe you'll have better luck than me if they fit you better but I'll be giving these ones away and buying something different.

These earphones are just as advertised. As others had commented, the flat wires do cause more noise than I am used to; however, the other writeups siad that was the case.

Awsome sound after a quick equalizer adjustment on my Pod. Wonderful highs, mids, and big but not overwhelming base. The cords do not tangle but lots of cord noise. No good for excersise. After 6 weeks the left channel died exactly as several others had warned would happen.

make sure you get the ones compatible for your device. I accidentally ordered the ones for Iphone although I have an android phone. Since I have the incorrect ones my buttons are not correct. mic works and start/stop works but not volume control buttons.
very comfy and good sound. loud cord noise though! I have to wrap the cord around my neck so the cord noise does not over power the audio.

This headset has a great sound. I have been wanting to buy these from some time and snagged a deal on thanksgiving. Quality of sound is the biggest plus. As some reviewers pointed out, the cord makes some noise while working out. Other than that, its a great set of headphones. I wouldn't write it off just because of the cord noise. Recommended.

Actually, the cord does make that irritating chirpy sound all the time as it touches any surface so a great headset if sitting around but not while moving and using to take calls on the phone.

I ordered these in June 2011. They broke a few months later and I received another pair through the warranty service. Over the course of two years this happened three more times. In May 2013, I sent the third pair in. Now, Sept 2013, the fourth pair has broken. Usually, sound would just stop coming out of one of the earbuds. I would think of this as a two year subscription to a headphone replacement service rather than as the purchase of a pair of headphones that will last. The warranty return service is very easy -- no questions asked; just send your original receipt and they happily send you a new pair. But no pair lasted more than a few months. I also own the V-MODA Remix Remote In-Ear Noise-Isolating Metal Headphone with 3-Button Apple Control (Blush). They seem to be of higher build quality, have a similar but bassier sound profile, and in certain colors can be cheaper than the klipsch.

After purchasing these earbuds from the Klipsch website, and after a thorough burn-in period, here is a review of this product.
The sound quality of these earbuds continues to carry on the tradition of well tuned sound that Klipsch prides itself on. They sound very similar to the older model Klipsch S4's.
The main difference that these second generation headphones offer is the flat cord design, as well as a slightly slimmer remote. The flat cord can be seen as either a negative or a positive, based on your preferences. Personally, because I use the S4's in a very active type setting, on the go, the flat cords are quite helpful. With the previous cord design, tangling was not much of an issue for me, however the flat cords remedy that problem very well. It also makes the cord more visible, and it gives it a sturdier look. However, it also increases the weight of the product, which may provide an issue if you do not have a proper fit for the ear pieces. The flat cord overall is a good addition to the design, in my opinion. The remote size does not matter to me very much, as you do not notice the change unless you take the time to measure it. The remote is always welcome, as being able to change the song without fishing for your device in your pocket is a good thing.
Another change is the case they provide. The last generation S4's came with a tin case. Not intending to be mean, but that case is a total waste. You cant properly keep the earbuds in the case with the foam insert, and without it, the abrasive tin had me worried that it would damage the gold plug. The case now is a lot more efficient. It is a clamshell case with a fabric interior and a still exterior. Its nicely labeled with the Klipsch label, and it looks sleek while retaining usefulness.
All this being said, this product is a worthwhile purchase if you feel the need to simply update your current pair of headphones. I still use the first generation S4's though the roles I use them in are slightly more rugged. Buy if you have the money, the sound is fantastic and the compliments you get will be too.

Bought these for my kids for Christmas 2013. By mid Feb they no longer use them as they kept falling out of their ears, and one of them not working properly! Quality of Sound is abysmal! Worst earphones ever!

Pros:
- wide cord that tangles less
- remote on the cord with buttons (not sliders that get hit easily and frequently don't map directly to iPhone sound levels)
- they stay in my ears pretty well with the larger adapters
- they include a cord clip that seems pretty high quality
- construction quality seems better than most
- reasonable degree of sound isolation (but not the newer electronic sound-cancelation)
Cons:
- haven't found many yet. Can't seem to find a way to switch to next-track via the remote, but it may be a hidden function.
I'm hoping this will become my new ongoing brand for earbuds moving forward.

I purchased the s4i a bit over a year and a half ago, and I gone through approximately 5 pairs of these already. The sound quality on these are superb, but the durability is very disappointing. I use the headphones frequently (~3-4 hrs per day) and treat them nicely, coiled fairly loosely for storage in my jacket pocket or backpack. In all of the cases, the speaker on one side stopped working. The warranty at Klipsch is very good though, having replaced the headphones very quickly with no hassle. I do like Klipsch but I think my next purchase will be a different set.

Also, for those that say there is no bass in these-- they dont know how to wear in ear headphones properly. These sound amazing!!

Picked these up on black Friday for $40. Recommended by The Absolute Sound and I can see why.
Well balanced sound, sturdy construction with anti-tangle cables. Provided good sound and noise isolation (of course they are not noise cancelling) on a recent transatlantic flight, with my iPod as well as for the in-flight movies.
Compared to my previous NuForce phones, they can play louder with less distortion. Good detail, good balance of bass, mid and high frequencies

These are nice buds, I have quite a few pairs of buds ranging from high end to mid level, and these are quite nice for the price, of coarse I bought them on a flash sale. They seem to project a little on the high end, but thats fine, their light, comfortably fit in my ear, what more could you ask for. One tip, always make sure to fold the wires and ear plug over and around your ear when using any buds, you'll never have a problem with them falling out. In hindsight, i wish I had gotten the black pair, but thats a non issue.

The first part of this review is about the previous version of these headphones, but it ties into the newest ones.
These headphones are the only ones I have ever found that fit my smallish inner ear perfectly with the smaller double flanged silicon tips. So comfortable. I wear them all night almost every night (snoring bed partner). I go to sleep listening to audiobooks or music every night. I found that the little rubber slide that helps to keep them from tangling tore off quickly, and the rubber around the bud itself split easily. They did tend to tangle too much, but the comfort made up for it. I started wrapping the headphones around my iPod trying very carefully not to bend and stress the rubber at the connection end of the headphones. However, I killed them. Bought a second pair. The second pair was fabulous until my new kitten chewed one of the cables. I'd had them about a 6 months.
In the meantime Klipsch came out with this improved version which were even better - these flat cables do not tangle and the slide is much more substantial. They hadn't split at the buds. I rolled and protected them whenever not in use in the zipper case and thought - OK, I know how to protect these from myself AND my cat! I LOVED them, until that is the right channel went out in less than 3 months of use. I am so disappointed. Too expensive to buy another
UPDATE 4/7/13. OK, so I succumbed to another pair, which I found for a better price on EBay. Once again, the right channel died after 4 months. Do you suppose it was a bad production run? No answer needed, this was just a rhetorical question.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE IF YOU USE THEM FOR THE GYM.
I had mine for literally 35 days before the sound went all weird on me.
The high frequencies in the songs or audio files would be off.
I don't blame sweat since I dont sweat much, However I do blame normal usage.
If you plan on using these everyday... reconsider buying another product.

It's a shame: good idea, klipsch is a great sound quality company, but the cord noise if you even just brush against it is a deal breaker. You can't even walk around with these. I think the engineers did most of their testing seated in a chair. Oh well, maybe they'll fix it and get it right in the next version. Until then, I had to return them.

I would typically never throw down more than $10 for a set of ear buds, but for these I would honestly pay twice the price I did!
1) The most comfortable fit: the bud and actual part that fits into your ear curve at an angle that makes sure it says in your ear. I've never been able to wear a pair of earbuds while Im working out and these ones stayed in my ear without popping out a single time during my run
2) the cord: actually never tangles. Its like magic (but science)
3) The Sound: Never in my wildest dream would I imagine that such a tiny little set of buds could produce such an amazing and encompassing bass. Awesome sound whether you're listening to electorinc, acoustic, or rock music

Shipped quickly. These headphones are one of my favorites. I have beats and these are far better. They isolate sound very well. The remote is very helpful and it comes with a small, handy carrying case.

Absolutely great sound quality, but the build quality is garbage.. You get a warranty through the manufacturer for a year and I can honestly say that over the last 3 years I have gone through 12 pairs of headphones. With every single pair the sound goes out on one side.. I even bought two pairs of headphones for my girlfriend and I- and the headphones broke on the same exact day. I bought these in the past when a pair would get lost or stolen, but not anymore.. The next time these are lost it's time to try something new.

Problem is there is absolutely no bass out of these. I am a huge Klipsch fan - I have reference series home stereo speakers. I am not expecting much from these little earbuds, but they are worse than OEM. Vocal is fine, but there is no bass, even with base booster turned on - no EQ settings help.... :(

Pros: Sound quality excellent and the base is crisp. Call quality is perfect. Remove almost all background noise w/o the hiss of noise canceling. Tangle free cord design.
Cons: Extended use (8+ hours at work) can cause ear fatigue. But I haven't been able to find any headphones that I can wear for 8+ hours that don't cause ear fatigue.

Unfortunately not long after writing my review of how wonderful the sound is on these earphones, the sound in each ear diminished and I could no longer use them. I didn't mind the flat cord but these are not built to last. Shame. After these I bought the Rugged version of these and they are still going a few months later with even better sound. You live, you learn.

Great Quality, good buy. Awesome sound. Comfortable. Klipsch knows audio products. Cable is tangle free. microphone sounds good, Has a little mic noise when walking with them while on a call.

Who cares if its out of season? These headphones are great! I bought them for my boyfriend who is studying for the bar exam. He studies in place where other people are also studying, so it can get pretty noisy. Although these aren't noise cancelling, he finds that even if the volume is pretty low, he still doesn't hear the noise of the other people studying. He also wears them on his walk to work and loves the sound quality.

I bought this recently and it was dead on arrival. The left earpiece didn't work. I tried it on various devices and it still didn't work. I am currently requesting a refund/return of this product. If that goes well I will give Customer Service for this product 5 stars. As far as the product goes, it didn't work so I wll have to give it 0 stars. Overall, dissatisfied obviously. I hope to buy a better product that will actually work.

I like these headphones. They go very well with my iPhone and give a much superior sound than the set of 'phones the iPhone ships with. Having customisable rubber ends is a big plus for me because my ear cavity is small and most in-ear headphones pop out after a few minutes of use unless I jam them in real hard, which is pain. I like the case; it is not flashy, but it keeps everything in one place and not in an entangled mess in my pocket.
I have had two sets of headphones die on me. The first time the right 'phone stopped working and the next time the left (or was it the other way around?). Customer service was fast, and the replacements came to me in no time. I appreciated the service and the two year warranty, but I hope this is my last interaction with them!

I am very happy having a pair of headphones that don't tangle themselves into knots - the flat cable is very good. They are comfortable and the sound is fine- not startlingly good, as I would have expected from reading lots of reviews, but pretty good for the money. The only gripe I have with them is that there is a bit more cable noise than I would want; not a great problem but I try not to move the cable about too much as I use them.
