I listen to audio books when I'm on the plane (I fly for business) or music when I'm out walking. These stay in and they have the controls on the wire so I can stop the music to take a call. The wire is flat so it doesn't get as tangled as the round wires do. The only problem I have with these I have with all of these ear bud type phones. They hide the "R" and "L" so they're really hard to find.

I purchased the previous generation of these headphones and absolutely loved them. They had just broken in and were giving me that sweet spot of sound when I managed to lose them at an airport. I was devastated but figured I'd get these to replaced them.
The S4i-II also have great sound, good range, and outstanding bass. But they don't fit the same way as the old pair. I've tried all the different ear bud sizes and they are constantly getting loose and falling out. So while I'm very happy jamming with my tunes, I am also a little disappointed that they don't fit the same especially considering the price. And I can't even use the spares from my old one since the ones that actually fit were lost as well.
Still, Klipsch makes good earbuds so I'll just put up with the inconvenience.
The S4i-II also have great sound, good range, and outstanding bass. But they don't fit the same way as the old pair. I've tried all the different ear bud sizes and they are constantly getting loose and falling out. Great sound, but left earbud stopped working after 2 months. Tried to reach out to customer service because they have a lifetime warranty, but I am leaving the country in a few days and I haven't heard anything back. It has only been 3 days, but I called in and spoke with someone who told me what to do to hopefully get a replacement set in time before I left. The fact that I haven't even received an email is kind of disappointing.
I've yet to find a brand that has great sound and earbuds that don't die out (though typically it's closer to 6-9 months from my experience). I bought these because of a recommendation and the warranty so I guess if you bought two pair and just had the second set on hand for when one set goes out, it could make sense. That's probably the best scenario until someone develops a pair that can work for an extended period of time.

I'm not an audiophile so this isn't a real technical review. I have a pair of Bose in ear comfort headphones that are a few years old now and falling apart so I asked for these as a gift. I actually like them better than the Bose. They stay in my ears much better than the bose and the sound is more balanced in my opinion. The mid-range is just as good as the low, whereas the bose sound like the mid range is getting drowned out by bass. The highs are excellent in my opinion as well. Overall, I'd say it's a well worth it upgrade. I would recommend these to friends and family. There is a lot of cord noise, but that's evident with any headphone design--it doesn't bother me.

Truly amazing sound from small unassuming earbuds. I bought these on a recommendation from a friend. They came with a small zipper case for carrying. The build quality is top notch and the oval shaped tips fit comfortable and provide a good seal. Crisp highs, mids, and great bass is what you will find here. I am really amazed at the bass, it's not what you could get from a pair of Beats but those are over tuned for bass anyways. Still the bass is pretty good for a pair of in-ears. They have the flat tangle free cable which is a nice touch. I compared them against my Apple In-ear headphones which also have nice sound. These Klipsch provided a wider sound stage and better bass, kids, and highs which was surprising.

In the interest of making this product more durable, Klipsch has ruined the best earbud headphones I've ever worn.
The "tangle free" cable is both too long and too rigid. It transmits a tremendous amount of noise from rubbing on your clothes, and the soft-touch finish makes it grab onto clothing and pull down on your ears. And if you sit with these on (say on the subway), the extra 18" of cord will loop over your knee and pull out of your ears. Also applies to going through turnstiles.
The remote is heavier than the previous version, so running in more annoying than before. Add the noisy cord and you've got a pain.
They sound great, though, and the buds fit the way they always have, so these are still better than most of the skull candy options. If you have the option, though, buy the s4i I instead of the II.

These are great everyday earphones. they are comfortable enough for everyday use. The flat cable is AWESOME. the wire never gets tangled or twisted up. However, this comes at a relatively large price. The amount of cable noise is INCREDIBLE. walking with these in your ears is almost unbearable. Especially if you are wearing a heavy winter coat.
Sound wise? Good, but not great. They are not what I would call balanced, but sound good with most music. Lows are great, but the mids and highs sound a little weak.
As a headset? Mediocre. The remote serves its purpose. The buttons are easy to feel and push. People on the phone can hear me well while talking. However, it is unusable if you are walking. Using the little clip does help, but I feel like you need two of them for you to be able to walk and talk on the phone at the same time. The cable noise is a big problem when talking on the phone. Others do not complain about weird noises, but you won't be able to hear the caller of the deafening cable noise in your ears.
UPDATE AFTER A YEAR OF HEAVY USE:
As someone that travels on a regular basis and lives in the city, I use my headphones very heavily. Despite the horrible cable noise, I have continued to use these on a daily basis. Unfortunately they barely lasted a year before they stopped working complete. Being that I was far outside of the Amazon return policy, I contact Klipsch. After a brief email exchange over two days, I had a brand new set of earphones in my hand 3 days later. It took 5 days in total to contact Klipsch about my problem with my year old, well used headphones to receive a brand new in box replacement. While these might not be my favorite model, you better believe I will continue to purchase Klipsch products. That kind of customer service is unheard of these days.

I still love my S4's and wanted to replace the ear buds for my iPhone. Just as comfortable and great sounding as the S4's with better durability. Wished the L and R markings were easier to read but I've learned to do it by feel now. Great value for the money.

Great headphones for listening, volume control, etc. The only issue is that the microphone is a bit low. It's fine indoors, but outdoors it's too far away from your mouth so you have to lift it if you want to have a phone conversation.

Overall this product was okay, I'm just not very sure about its durability. I bought it for my fiancee and in less than a year, we were already hunting for a new pair becuase one of the earpiece stopped working. If you like amazing quality headphones, I would suggest you try any of the Audio Technica models.

This was a purchase I could not pass up! After owning the Reference version of these headphones, I prefer these. The flat cord appears to have a higher build quality and the cord does not transmit cord noise as much as the Reference. Use of the microphone during phone calls sounds better and without a hollow echo sound. Overall, these are a much better pair of headphones.

I had these headphones for a little over a year and used them frequently but took very good care of them. The right ear does not transmit sound any more and the headphone are useless. I have had many cheaper pair of headphones that lasted much longer than these. I will not but Klipsch again.

I've always liked these headphones, owning previous pairs.
The new ones have a firmer, flatter wire, so they don't get all tangled up like my older ones do.
Good features: nice fit in the ear (with choice of rubber ear piece), good sound quality, and good sound isolation. Also, works great with the iphone, with volume and select buttons.
Bad: after a while, the rubber ear pieces can come off (especially if you put these in and out of your pocket frequently...so I order extra of the size that fits my ear the best...the phones come with a variety of sizes for you to try).

I was hoping a lot from this, but was a big let down. The sound quality and the controls are great but only when you sit idle. Slightest movements cause a lot of noise from the mic I think and also the ear buds are noisy. Didn't like them at all and sold it off.
3 stars for the sound quality and controls. -2 for the mic positioning and noise from mic and earbuds.
Will not recommend this to anyone.

I already owned a pair of Klipsch S4's. They have been great and are still fantastic. I bought these for my wife to use with her iPhone. She is as happy as I have been with mine. I will add that if you really want to enjoy these headphones, purchase a set of Comply Foam Tips to go with them. They will improve the fit and sound cancellation. You will not be disappointed.

First of all, you should know that I am an audiophile headphone TERMINATOR. It's not that I don't love them or take care of them; quite the opposite. But try as I might headsets rarely last longer than a few months once placed on my head. The Klipsch S4i compares favorably with the more expensive Bose MIE2i and V-Moda Vibrato, and in my experience has better, consistent sound across the entire range of frequencies. The newest model beats all with it's design of FLAT connecting wires and they have finally produced a case that is worthy of the product. One tiny criticism: they need to make one larger size earpiece for us big-eared stallions, but if you follow the instructions and loop the cable around your ear you will have good sound throughout a workout. They also have the best remote switch; it's long enough and each of the three switches is a bump that you can operate without looking. What tends to set them apart from their competition is their warranty and service department. I bought my first set about three years ago, and it was the regular (not sturdy) version, M4i. After they broke for the second or third time, they gave me a free upgrade to the S4i, which last much longer. And they offer returns by email after the first time, with no shipping charges. (I believe that I paid shipping for the old set to go back the first time.). And they reset the warranty clock with each shipment. If you work out hard like I do, there's no better headset for the money.

These earphones are the best ones I have ever tried. I've had several pairs that either broke because of cheap plastic parts or slipped out of my ears during a workout or on the go or just didn't have good enough sound quality. These fit your ears perfectly because of their oval shape, they won't slip out from sweaty or oily ears, and they have amazingly clear sound with good bass. There are better earphones out there if you want to spend 150+ but I got these for 40 and I am very satisfied in every way by these earbuds. They integrate well with iPhones.

Before I begin i must tell you that i am not a snobby audiophile who needs thousands of dollars worth of audio equipment to enjoy some music, however i do have an ear for good accurate music reproduction, and do need a somewhat decent, at the least, pair or iems to get me through long trips in the car and while im working out at the gym.
I am going to review these in 4 different categories, sound, comfort, style, and durability.
SOUND: The sound is the most important part of any IEM set. These are advertised to be "noise isolating". Out of the box you will need to play around with the different size ear pieces to get a good snug fit, along with a snug fit all outside noise is isolated very effectively. I am able to listen to my music at half volume because so much noise is being blocked from the outside. Noise isolation is absolutley superb.
Sound quality is excellent, even out of the box before a burn in period. The bass is powerful however not overpowering but very natural. It is tight and punchy on rock songs, but powerful and deep on hip hop tracks.

One of the best in ear headphones you can buy for the money. tis is my second set as I lost my first ones and could not live without them. the oval earpiece fits perfect. Sound is the best especially for the price. I have owned 40-50 earphones and besides my sure 535's, these are the best in ear headphone.

These headphones sound amazing. The MSRP is a bit ridiculous, but I picked them up on Black Friday for $40 - what a steal! I love the remote and the flat, tangle-free cable is great. Only problem is that it is just way to long. I would have liked them for the gym but even tucked under your shirt they are just dangerously long, constantly at risk of tangling on something. However, for a causal pair of buds, these sound better than my Harman Kardon sets by a longshot, and are so much more comfortable.

This is the third pair of Klipsch ear buds I have owned, I use them every day at work. Iv'e tried several other pair of similar products but I gotta tell ya the Klipsch are way superior! They are comfortable, they do a wonderful job of knocking down the ambient noise, which means I can turn the volume way down, and the materials they use in their construction are awesome! They sound great, look great and they last.

I tried using these since so many people rated them so high, including CNET. But these earbuds stink!! They are very uncomfortable, and even though they come with 4 different size cups, none of them stayed in my ear. The sound was ok, if I didn't move my head. As soon as I moved, they fell out of my ears. And as someone warned before, don't move the cable. It creates noise that you hear over your music. If these headphones are an improvement over the last generation, I can't imagine how horrible those were! Spend the extra $ and get Bose!

I was real excited to get these b/c of the controls, the sound reviews and the non tangle wires but I am still using my $5 ear buds...why? The weight of the buds make them fall out of my ear, and I have tried about 5 different ear ends. The controller works with the volume really well but not the pause/fast foward/rewind. I continually press it twice to jump to the next song and it pauses and starts again. It's a hassle and not worth the trouble for the buds to continually fall out of my ear, so I leave them home.

What more needs to be said. I ordered the white model and the ones that arrived were black. This wasn't a huge dealbreaker so I opened them up. Sound only came out of one of the earbuds. Same issue occurred to a friend of mine to whom I recommended Klipsch. I'm really disappointed as I used to like their products but I will be trying to get my money back and doubt I will buy any of their products again.

The Klipsch Image S4i-II earphones are a significant improvement over Apple's provided earphones. I found Klipsch's rubber tips too loose and flimsy (they kept falling out of my ear). Replacing them with the Comply TSX-100 Comfort PLUS tips made a major difference. The sound of the earphones won't knock your socks off and I don't think they're designed to. Their sound is clear, sharp, and balanced. I was able to hear instruments and notes in music that were not audible through the Apple earphones. Now available at less than half of comparable earphones, these are a great buy.

Payed $40 for these. Ended up returning them because none of the earbuds would stay in my ear. Also as other reviews have said the cord noise is pretty intolerable. I also wasn't super impressed by the sound quality, it isn't particularly crisp and the bass isn't very deep compared to other earbuds I've tried. The phone controls work fine on an iphone 5 but the buttons felt cheap and it was often hard to tell them apart without looking because they all feel the same. I liked the flat cord, it was very smooth and not sticky at all which helped it to never really get tangled. I think I'll probably just get another pair of the new Apple headphones, at least they will stay in my ear.

This rating could be a 4, but because these ear buds don't last more than a month I give it 2 stars. I just received a replacement for the s4i ear buds about a month ago with the warranty (One side stopped working) and now the left side ear bud stopped producing sound. I don't know what is going on with this line of ear buds from Klipsch, but in this past year alone at least 5 times I have had to pay postage to return defected ear buds just to wait two weeks to receive another defected ear buds from Klipsch that will only last a month, so that I have to do this all over again. I am very very disappointed with the quality of these ear buds. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand of ear brands.

I ordered these earbuds about 5 months ago. During that time, I found the sound quality to be excellent and was really liking the thicker cord offering. However, yesterday, the left bud stopped working and nothing I have tried has fixed it. Unfortunately, this seems to be a running theme with Klipsch earbuds - I've had this happen with another pair before. I was hoping this model with the heavier duty cord would prove more durable, but unfortunately it did not. In summary - great headphones for a few months, but don't expect long term durability.

First off, let me express that I expected high quality sound from this Brand. I know they can produce it. There monitor and cinema speakers sound great but not happy with these headphones.
The sound quality isn't as expected for a $80 pair of headphones. I spent a whole week breaking the headphones in at the gym, not impressed nor satisfied. The headphones sound like a $10 pair of headphones. Also, the ear buds are not staying in my ear when I run. I tried out every size and it's not staying in.
Don't expect these headphones to sound like $80 headphones cause they won't. Save your money and buy a different brand if your choosing to buy headphone ear buds.

I bought these for my niece (age 10). She used them infrequently to watch clips on her Kindle. They just stopped working 4 months in.... I need to call Klipsch to see what I can be done in terms of replacement. Hoping its not painful.

I guess by many standards this item could have gotten five stars but for me, I save five stars for something really spectacular. Still tough, this is a great product. I often fall asleep with my head sets on. On the cheaper head sets this practice soon breaks the connection at or near the head set. The flat wire seems to be quite strong and so far with more usage than normal, I have had no problems in this regard. The sound quality exceeds any other head set I have owned. To be fair, I generally buy cheaper head set. As for the fit in the ear, I had no idea it could be so much better!

Not a guru sound aficionado, but I like my music. Mainly semi-heavy bass and fast paced music, but can be any genre. This works for me, it's not quite heavy in bass as I would have enjoyed but it's sufficient for me. The Skype feature works well and "untangle" cord is solid. Wish they had more offerings in ear buds but the default one works okay in my ears. It does tend to slip out once in a while if I am working out or jogging. I have to do the wrap-around top of my ear to make sure the ear piece stays in place. For the price it's hard to beat these ear buds in quality. I would shop around some more, but I think these will be good enough until they break.

Just like the Beats by Dre ear phones, this pair sounded FANTASTIC while it worked. And then, a month later, for no reason at all, one of the ear buds just dropped sound. I was just walking to work and the right side went very quiet and then died. I didn't damage it at all. I cleaned it. But still, it doesn't work. For the price I paid, this thing should have lasted for years. It's funny, because my backup buds, a $30 pair of Samsungs, have lasted for 2 years so far.

These headphones are great. They are very clear and provide both deep base and clear highs. I love the inline volume control. It is easy to exercise and control your i-Product with a flick of the hand. I also love the phone call feature. I have taken many phone calls while exercising and I am able to hear the caller well and the caller reports that they can hear me as well, if not better, than if I was actually on my handset. The molder ear buds are well thought out and fit in my ears easily. They are curved and the angle that they sit in your ears are conducive to all day wear. I own many products from Klipsch and they build a quality speaker/headphone. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a reasonably priced, high quality headphone.

These headphones are comfortable, and perform well. The sound is very good. The volume control does not work on my Nexus 5 phone, but it does work on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro. I was under the impression that this product is U.S. made, which is one of the reasons I bought it. It is not! It is made in China. However, it does what it is supposed to do.

After much research, I purchased these ear buds. The reputation of Klipsch alone should be enough. The quality seems excelent. The flat cord is very convenient. The mid and high frequencies are stunnigly sharp and clear. Case is nice. I had read that they were a little lacking on the bottom end, but I thought, perhaps a bit of EQ enhancement might overcome this. Alas, the only defined bass occured when I pressed and held the buds in my ears. Not practical or good. If you want to hear unmuddled mid to high clearity, this is the ticket. But if you want to feel the music, don't choose these.

I bought then because a saw lots of reviews that said they were good. What can I say. The sound quality is so poor that standard iPhone 5s ear buds have better sound quality and instrument separation. Funny thing is that, they fall off the ear, but surprisingly when you switch sides ( put left ear pad to the right ear) it fits fine. And sound is a little better, but still is sooo poor. I don't know if I got counterfeit or something. My colleague bought a pair of Sony mh750 (6 £) and they sound much better. Also the pilot is not intuitive. It is situated very low so when you wear a jacket you have to zip it off to access the pilot. If you put the pilot near your face( no need to zip off) the cable pulls the ear pod from the ear. The construction is so poor. Worse than the sound quality. These are not worth a penny....

When I consider Klipsch products I ask myself, is the quality sufficient to overcome my distaste with the company chairman's association with the Koch brothers' political machine. Fred Klipsch is being groomed by the Koch brothers in a scheme to influence american elections. Not in of itself a bad thing, but the Koch plan seeks to do so anonymously. Use Amazon to stream the documentary "Citizen Koch" before you buy this product.

Great headphones. No problem with the cords, by the way. I didn't hear any noise or sound coming from the cord.

I bought these for my 20 year old college sophomore. He's gone through several pair over the last year and I wanted to buy him a "decent" pair that didn't break the bank. Well these are great! So let me save you some time going over all the reviews because I already did, and he loves these, wears them every day. They are holding up very well and have great sound. I looked them up on C-Net and watched the video so don't worry, just go ahead and buy these, you won't be sorry.

I first purchased this product in December 2012 and since then I have had three sets of earbuds break (less than a year). In each case one of the buds(either right or left) just stops working out of nowhere. I do use them a lot (on my walk to work, at the office, occasionally at the gym, probably 5 out of 7 days a week), but I have not been rough with them at all, so I'm not sure how this keeps happening. The latest pair just broke this afternoon and I'm not even going to bother to submit another warranty claim (I believe there is a two year warranty). I'm not interested in ever using another Klipsch product after this. The sounds is decent but its just not worth the aggravation of having to replace them every three months.

For starts they won't work properly with anything but apple products, I realize it says this but the fact remains apples proprietary practices do nothing but cost consumers more money and hassles.
Heavy: the no tangle concept is a great idea however the cables and in particular the volume control is heavy for earphones. I use headphones primarily at the gym, running or on bike rides. When the cord and volume control was bouncing up and down it nearly yanks them out of your ears. These are not designed for active people.
Noisy: When the cable rubbed up against my body while in motion the headphones had a annoying scratchy noise coming through the earpiece.
Sent them back after one visit to the gym.
As far as no tangle cords go, I recently got Galaxy S4's for our family (great phones by the way) the earphones that came with them are much lighter, noise free and don't tangle. And they came free with the phone. No tangle cords seems like a simple concept, Samsung found a practical solution.

This is my first semi-serious pair of headphones (I've had decent experiences with low-end Philips and Sennheisers). Also, I mainly listen to classical, though I'm not really an audiophile by any standards.
That said, I am really pleased with these after 3 weeks of use. Fit and comfort is good and the tangle-free cable is great. There's quite a bit of cable noise, which can be removed either by using the provided clip or wearing them in a loop-around-ear configuration. Sound isolation is good but not complete (which can be a good or bad thing). The in-built remote is nice and works great with itunes.
I can't really comment on the technical merits of the sound quality. I can say though that there's far better sound resolution than anything I've heard before - I can easily distinguish the bass from cellos and drums, and distinctly make out the high notes from a triangle.
The reason I've given only 4 stars is because durability was one of my main criteria while buying, and although the thick cable looks strong, the only way to judge it is to wait for an extended period of time. Hopefully, if these are still going strong after a year, I'll get back to this review and bump it up.
P.S.: I'm not sure I believe everything that's been said about "burning-in" headphones, but I do think you need to wait some time for your ears to get used to them (which is why I waited for a couple of weeks before posting a review).
