A few months ago I bought a cordless phone rated #1 by Consumer Reports (for the life of me I can't recall what brand ...must be the sheer disgust I had for it that is making me forget it - HA!). Anyway, after spending two months with that user-unfriendly phone, I donated it to the Salvation Army and bought this new Panasonic phone.It works perfectly...is easy to use...is logical to navigate through...and has excellent sound quality.

The phone started to have problems within a month of getting the phones. And last week the phones stopped working all together! I can only get a partial refund since they only give you 30 days to return!! Make sure you read the fine print! Ahhhh! Whatever!

There are good features but I was disappointed in that it is not as easy to use as my prior phones. Features meant to help find frequent callers are unwieldy and require too many actions. It is almost easier to just dial. When I use the speaker while on hold, I can't turn it off again to talk. Can't turn off the speaker for voicemail either. In addition, the volume control does not get loud enough for me.Many of the feature are good ones but need to be improved for better ease of use.

After I had ordered this, I realized that I needed a second set. However, even though the item had not yet shipped, I was told I couldn't add on to it. I was then forced to return it, minus shipping and handling, and then having to reorder. The phone itself works great, but I wasn't a happy camper with the level of service.

As advertised, but two big problems, so I wasted my time and money:1. Does not really block calls: It rings once on blocked calls, and there is no way to stop that. It has a group ring feature, but no way to stop ringing only on select numbers. There is no option to give a special ring to blocked numbers.2. The sound quality has been bad even at close range. Reminds me of the first cordless phones from the 1980s with extendable antennas.Compared to my old phone, the only feature that was a plus was to stop ringing at some hours.A note about Amazon: Amazon first redirected to another vendor who never did ship this product. I reordered from Amazon and Amazon never shipped either. Two weeks later ... reordered based on Amazon reviews and product description, which never addressed the issues I'm writing about here.

Just received these phones & I have to agree that they are great! The ringer could be a bit louder (maybe I am going deaf?) But otherwise I like the feature set this phone provides for the money. You are getting a lot! Also did not need the voice message feature of the more expensive set. It was easy to set up & I like the fact it uses standard rechargeable batteries. The phones look sleek & the buttons all light up! Love these phones thus far.

haven't had them that long and one is not working!! would not recommend them-have no idea why the extension is not working!! i've tried switching the handsets and that didn't change anything. they weren't costly, but it's irritating to have them quit working sooooooooooo soon!!

I like the phones and they work well but they do so many things I can never remember how to use all the fluffs. I just use it for answering calls and talking on the phone and am glad to report the voices are clear. A computer geek would probably like all the other options.

Panasonic quality has gone down tremendously. I have 2 Panasonic phones at office which we bought few years ago and work great. Given then excellent quality bought this particular model only to realize the quality has gone down. The handsets had a very low volume to begin with but since I use speaker phone most of time did not had that as an issue until the speakerphone stopped working for no apparent reason on one of the headsets. Since it was still under warranty sent it to Panasonic for replacement which was promptly replaced with anew handset last month. Earlier this month my other working handsets speaker stopped working while I was in middle of the call. Since it is out of warranty did not bother changing it since I had at least one set in good working condition (the one that was replaced by Panasonic) until it quit unexpectedly few days go. A brand new handset that I received last month just stopped working. What a shame. I will not buy Panasonic phones again. Ordered an AT&T phone yesterday and lets hope that one works well. Panasonic needs to work on the quality as a lot many other people have same issues and in newer models.

These phones work great. I especially like the fact that the batteries are standard AAA rechargeable so you won't find yourself hunting for custom cordless phones batteries. The call quality is awesome. I bought this product to replace another set of Panasonic cordless phones that I had for years. The only reason I still don't have that set was due to not being able to purchase an additional handset after I moved due to the phone's age.

I've seen a lot of comments about this product. I have had absolutely no problem with the phones. I bought the 3 phone package. The phones are very easy to set up, the voice is crystal clear, and the range is very good. The initial charge takes about 7 hours but after that they can last more than a day without being recharged. I really like the feel of the phone and the bright screen with big letters. I am very satisfied with the product. Also, the batteries are standard rechargeable AAA so there is no need to buy expensive, company-made batteries down the road when they wear out.

This telephone is head and shoulders above my old one! I especially like the 'call block' feature, it has cut down on the number of annoying calls to come into the house. I carry it with me everywhere!

I did lots and lots of research before buying this phone and it was worth it. My only regret is that I never thought I'd love it and rely on It as much as I did. I could've saved some money buy buying the same item with 5 handsets, instead I did buy 3 extra handsets which automaticly program themselves to my original base phone. This phone is easy to use. It has a large display, energy saving mode, privacy option, and an intercome (which I can no longer live without). The battery seems to last forever when it's off its base, and I can walk through my back yard, past the garage and to the alley and still have a perfect connection. I surely recommend it.

This phone is practical and perfect for every day use. Light and convenient, and well made for the price! I appreciate the ringer options as I don't care for loud blaring noises, and there are lots of ways to customize the display. Easy to use. I definitely recommend this phone.

THESE PHONES ARE VERY SIMPLE. NO ANSWERING SYSTEM INCLUDED. THE BATTERIES ARE NI-MH AAA VERY EASY TO FIND. SOUND QUALITY AND VOLUME IS VERY GOOD. FIRST TIME SET-UP IS SOMEWHAT TRICKY. OWNERS MANUAL NOT TOO EASY TO UNDERSTAND.

I like the sleek look, organizational functions are great and the battery life is much longer than my last several cordless phones. I also don't get feedback if used within a close proximity. Overall, very well pleased with phone system.

I had another Panasonic cordless phone that I loved and was still working after 4 years of use, but did not support a headset. An onset of neck pain sent me looking for a new phone and I was thrilled to find this Panasonic phone that is very similar to my old phone.Its a great basic cordless phone. Range is really good - I often take it outside and never lose connection. The phones stay charged a long time, but with 3 of them there is always another back up.pEasy to use with the Panasonic headset - just plug it into the phone.

For some reason I assumed these phones had the ability to take messages. Maybe they do - but I was never able to figure it out. Naturally the enclosed manuel offered little help - what it said it should say (prompts) it didn't and Panasonic help line was even worse. You would think once I identified the model they could answer the question "does it record messages?" They couldn't. Back it went.

These phones are easy to use with good sound quality. The only thing I would change is the size of the light that blinks to let you know you have a message is a little small and you have to be very close to see it.

As a Retired Electrical Communications Engineer, I had enjoyed my first Cordless Speaker 'Phone from Panasonic for about 12 years, but became very disappointed with the second set of replacement batteries. The word on the steet is when the current Chinese batteries are discharged they became "Bricks" (disfunctional). I tried three and they all failed.I was delighted to see Panasonic's new sets use a more common size of rechargable battery (AA, enlarging the choice of suppliers). Their display Screen is a good feature aiding operation They hold a charge -- off the charger -- for 3 or 4 days -- meaning I can lose one in my home office and still comminicate.

I haven't taken full advantage of phone's features yet but I needed to be on phone for a long time tonight and NO INTERFERENCE/STATIC!!!! I have had trouble w both since moving in 4 yrs ago... But this nifty phone took care of it. My only issue so far is set up took me a bit to figure out. Instructions provided were not great and it wasn't all that intuitive... Eventually I got there.

I read the reviews from others, not just Amazon and I bought this one for my bedroom. After one year, it is still going strong and the battery life is exceptional. The range is fantastic too. The price was competitive and I would highly recommend this cordless phone to everyone.

This set was used to replace two KX-TG 2300 series phones that were atl least 8 years old. Panasonic Phones have lasted at least five years over the 30 year useage. There are so many improvements over the older phones. The white backlit display with large letters and numbers are so much easier to read. The dial pad is backlit and much easier to use at night in a darker room. The phone book is much larger and the batteries hold their charge much longer. The phones are smaller and have no antenna and the useful range is much greater. I live in an independent living center wth four floors and I can roam the whole building without losing contact with the base. I didn't need the answering machine as my phone company provides me with voice mail service. This set gives more bang for the buck than the others I shopped on Amazon.

Love these phones. We owned a Panasonic DECT 6.0 phone in the past, and it never let us down. So when we moved into our new home and needed more handsets, it only made sense to stick with the Panasonic brand. Sometimes we leave these phones off the cradle for days at a time and we haven't had any issues with battery life. Range is great, no problems hearing anyone, even deep in the backyard. My ONLY complaint is that setting custom ringtones is kind of a pain. Instead of being able to set one for each individual number in the phone you have to set it for a "group", and have the numbers you want to ring with the custom tone in that group. It's certainly not a deal breaker, but I would prefer if I could set a custom ring for individual numbers and not have to group them.

For a long time I have had my VOIP home phone directed first to voice mail then later call forwarded to my cell phone after I downloaded a call blocker software to kill telemarketers who routinely ignore the DNC. I finally hooked the old phone up again recently but it was ringing off the hook again with all these calls I wanted blocked. I got these phones because of the call block capability and hooked them up last night. Already I think I am seeing a difference because I have only received a few calls from the worst offenders. I am assuming that because this system hangs up rather sending them to voicemail that their computers are considering it a dead number after a couple of tries and deleting it from their demon list. Over an above that the phones are very nice and have all of the quality that I have come to expect from Panasonic cordless phones. In addition the product was packed well and shipped promptly.

This is replacing an older phone of the same style. I think I love the call block feature already. Despite being unlisted and on the government do not call list, I am constantly getting calls for services, charities, etc., and in fact, my first call was an electronic call for a new gas company. Boom! right on my call block list.I also like the large print on the screen which is easy for middle-aged eyes to read without glasses.

We needed to replace an old cordless that had run out of steam, and I confess that I didn't do a ton of research. Relying on the reviews, I bought this unit almost a month ago, and so far I agree with the consensus here: this is a great cordless phone set for the home, especially for the price ($50 as of writing).Installation is as easy as can be: just plug and go. I particularly like the fact that the second hand-set's base station doesn't require a phone line in - it gets its signal from the master unit - so you can put the secondary base station (which is just a charging station) anywhere there's an outlet.Programming isn't intuitive - I had to resort to the manual, which - let's be honest - wasn't my first impulse, as a guy. But the manual is clear enough, and I got the voicemail dial-in working in a minute or two.Display is terrific - the back-lighting is bright and the characters are nice and big - I'd say something like 18pt font, as a comparison - meaning you can read it easily from a bit of a distance.Signal seems clear and strong - our house isn't gigantic, but I've noticed no loss of signal strength or quality as I move away from the base station, and the upstairs secondary unit - which, as mentioned, gets its signal from the primary base station - sounds just as good as the primary unit downstairs.Quality is likewise solid - seems clear with none of the "fuzz" that made our last unit such a pain to use.I'm sure there are plenty of bells & whistles that I haven't yet explored, and probably won't; at the end of the day, the phone's a phone, and that's how we use it - and we've been pleased so far.

I pick up static from outside my apartment at times. No problems for recipient of my call. My older model Panasonic did much better.

I received this phone from Amazon on March 7, 2012 and it quit working on June 6, 2012. I'm getting an error message "base no power". I contacted Panasonic and they gave me a couple of things to try but the instructions didn't match the phone! They told me if those things didn't work (and they didn't), I should return the phone, at my own expense, to them. At this point, I'm so disgusted, I'm not sure what I will do. And to make matters worse, I purchased another one of these phones, before this one broke, for my Dad for Father's Day! Maybe I'll keep that one and find a better one for him. Unless I decide to send the phone back to the manufacturer and spend more money, I may just say goodbye to my $36.00 and consider it a lesson learned.UPDATE:I finally decided to send the phone back to the manufacturer and they sent me a REFURBISHED phone, that wasn't even the same model! Needless to say, I'm not at all happy with Panasonic and will not be purchasing any additional Panasonic products. I did give the one I ordered for my Dad to him and it seems to be working properly.

I particularly like that I can add more handsets. Clear voice, charge quickly and hold theCharge. Getting use to the ring tones, there are several to choose from. Learning more things this phone can do as I go along. The system is doing exactly what I was looking for in a home phone system. I will buy this system again.

Bought this as an immediate replacement for an existing Panasonic phone that I was pleased with.Didn't need anserwing machine, just a phone. This fits the bill very well. Has alot of nice features.The wall mounting was not conventional to what was existing to my home but there there is alternative mounting which adapted just fine.

Replacing an old Uniden. Got the basic model -- no answering machine since we have that with our VOI from cablevision... Phone has great sound, good battery hold, and is intuitively usable. All in all am very satisfied.

The caller ID screen is large and the font is big enough to read from a ways away. My only complaint is the message light sits on the top of the phone at the back. Sometimes I notice it because the flashing light is reflected off the wall. Not a deal breaker tho. You just learn to check as you walk by.

Yes, we still have a land line. I have a young son, and I want 911 to be able to find us quickly in a scary situation. We've had this phone for a few months now, and it works well. No problems at all. I like the time and date on the screen.

At least I can upgrade with my future buying power.Sometimes, it's hard to treat a phone like a utility device, and I have to say that this is one of those times. Maybe, like I say, that's just "me".About the sound quality: It is hard to notice switching from an analogue phone to a digital phone, except for the first day. And, at certain angles, the speaker phone doesn't pack much of a punch, outgoing. On a desk or what have you, it is fine. We have gone through several different extension phones for various rooms in the house and these seem to work great and still hanging in there.

Everything works as advertized really like the phone system so far. Really good sound quality. Would recommend to others to buy.

Work great. I also bought the hands-free headset so that I don't have to hold the phone up to my head for an hour when talking to out-of-state family. Have been using them for quite a while and have had no issues at all.

Bought this set to replace several phones in our house and it works well.It is easy to use, especially the intercom system which comes in handy.

Fast shipping. It took me 7 hours to charge the batteries. The system does not work at all! Units are mismatched. What a disappointing purchase. It was returned. Yet, the Amazon's handling of return was satisfied.

I use the headset jack a lot. Coupled with my Vonage service, it makes long conference calls tolerable. I wish I had purchased more of this model for the rest of the house.

We picked up the KX-TG6512B the other day to try before taking the plunge on a larger system with 6 handsets. Our old Uniden 5.8 GHz system was great, but the batteries on all the handsets are losing their ability to hold a charge and it interferes with our wireless network. I started looking for a DECT 6.0 replacement system but never found one that had all the features we were looking for, but now that I virtually stumbled across the 6500 series from Panasonic it looks like I've found our perfect phones. Here's what I like:- You can customize the banner on each handset. This may seem like a minor feature, but we had gotten used to it on the Uniden and liked it.- You can check the Caller ID on one handset after someone else has already answered a call on another handset. We actually end up doing this quite a bit with our old Uniden phones, but I had read a review of the older Panasonic 6440 phones that said this wasn't possible. I was very pleasantly surprised to see this now works, since I was about ready to live without that feature.- The handsets have jacks for wired headsets. My wife and I both work in the technical field and often end up working on the computer while on a call, and a headset is a better option than a speaker phone. This was a must-have feature for us, and many of the Uniden phones don't have it.- The speaker phone quality is very good. We were always very happy with the sound of the Uniden speaker phone on the handsets, but the new Panasonic sound quality is at least as good.- The batteries in the handset are standard NiMH AAA rechargeables rather than the proprietary (and expensive) battery used in the Uniden. Should we ever need to replace them it will be trivial and cheap.- There are belt clips for the handsets. We don't use this a lot, but we do every once in a while, especially when using a headset. Some of the other models I looked at didn't have this. Note that if you put the belt clip on the headset it covers up the little grippy patch on the back that's there to help you hold the handset between your shoulder and ear, so if you like to hold your phone on your shoulder you may want to skip the belt clip.- The buttons on the phone are back-lit and easy to find and push. On some of the new Uniden handsets the three buttons in an individual row are all run together and I heard that they can be less easy to find.- The display on the handset is black-on-white and very easy to read.- The phone will set its time and date from the Caller ID information.- The message waiting indicator light on the phones can be manually turned off simply by pushing and holding the "#" key. Our old Uniden phone would sometimes miss the signal from the phone company to turn off the light, so it's nice that there's an option to manually do it easily on the Panasonic if the need arises.There are many other features related to address books, etc. that are less important to us so I haven't bothered to learn about them or try them. However, based on the above I'm extremely happy with this new Panasonic phone. We've only used it a very short time, but I was impressed enough to order the KX-TG6545B with 5 included handsets to be our replacement for our old Uniden system. This adds a base speakerphone with keypad, as well as an answering system we'll never use (we have voice mail from the phone company).So, to summarize, I really like this phone (love is too strong a word for a cordless phone). We've not used it enough to know how well it'll work down the road, but based on reviews of other Panasonic phones I'm optimistic about that.

Good range of broadcast signal, pretty good clarity although I would like more volume which was offered in another model
