Very fast shipping!!Product exactly how described!!I bought a different model Panasonic cordless phone several years ago that looks just like these phones. My mother and I live together and each have a landline phone. I was worried about her cordless phone and mine interfering with each other so I bought her a different brand cordless phone that actually received higher positive reviews than mine did.I have never had any problems whatsoever with my Panasonic over the years. I enjoy all the features, my calls are clear, my battery lasts forever...it has been a great phone that I still use to this day.My mom, on the other hand, has had several problems with her other brand:1. Her calls were intermittently clear. She complained more often than not about that one.2. If there was a brief pause in conversation, the phone seemed to go "mute" - the other party would think my mom hung up or something because on their end they would hear a quiet click and all background noise would disappear. My mom was always hearing, "hello? Are you there? Vicki??"3. When my mom had completed her phone call and pressed the "end" button, the phone would a lot of times ring rapidly. She would have to turn the phone back on and hit the "end" button again TWO times. Weird!,4. About a month ago, one of the handsets battery quit holding its charge. It slowly lost more and more over the course of less than a week until it wouldn't hold a charge at all...so she was down to one handset. Well, last week that handset didn't give any indications. It just quit. Dead. So she had no phone at all.We had to set up her phone line to forward all calls to my phone line and share my phone until I could get her a new phone. Ummm, now I don't like this one little bit. Lol!Sooooooo...here I am. Searching for a phone for my mom. Because of my experience with my Panasonic phone I decided to look there first. I looked through them all and found this one to be the best fit so I bookmarked it. Then I checked out the other brands. After looking through all of those I ended up back at this phone. My only concern was whether my phone and this phone would interfere in any way being that they are so very close to the same thing. There was no way to check that out unless I bought it. So, that's what I did. :)I am very happy to say that there is absolutely no interference between the two phones. My mom is so happy with her new phones. She can't believe how clear her calls are now! She loves the intercom (we have a fairly large home) and how you can set up groups in the phone book and give each group a different ringtone.I have the faith and trust that these phones will give my mother the pleasure that my phone has given me for many years to come, just as mine has done for me.I would highly recommend this product to friends, family and even complete strangers! :)

I have owned a lot of telephones in my home. All of them have disappointed me in some way. This one, however, seems as close to "perfect" in its design as you are likely to find.It operates in the DECT 6.0 range, with the latest signal-boosting technology. It uses less power if you are close to the base unit. It offers many ring and melody-ring tone options. It is very flexible, in accommodating special needs, like the ability to turn-off the ringer... or to set times of day when the ringer is to ring, and times of day (or night) when theringer not to ring, but to remain silent. The ringer volume is also very adjustable. It's is very well-thought-out design. It also has a rarely-seen headset jack, so you can plug-in almost any headset if you wish to have an extended conversation in hands-free mode (headset not included, but it'sheadset-compatible, and that's what is important... you can get a headset for $10 anywhere). One fabulous feature is the ability to do your customization-programing directly, not just by using "menus" as all other phones use. By that I mean... yes you can open upthe "function" menu and select "ring volume" and under that sub-menu select "low volume" and then select "save".... etc. But this phone also offers you a super-fast short-cutto programing this phone with every customization you want... and you can skip all the menus and sub-menus... if you wish. You can, using the long list of three-digitcommand codes in the owners' manual, just type in the three-digit code for whatever type of command or customization you wish to establish, and it instantly jumpsto that - and does it. For example: changing the ring volume... without going through tedious menus, can be accessed by just looking up "Change Ring Volume" inthe owners manual, and it tells you the shortcut code: "161"... enter that code and you are instantly at the point of telling the phone where you want you ringer volume(or any of 100 other customizations or commands you can "jump-to" with the right three-digit code). Brilliant! Simple! Easy! This phone also has a nice, big LCD display, and good-sized buttons with a nice feel to them. It is available with or without an answering machine built-in,and it is expandable up to several additional handsets on the same system. In short... this phone will not disappoint, in performance or ease-of-use.Sure if Apple had designed it instead of Panasonic, it would be made out of a single piece of sleek aluminum rather than black plastic, and the LCD display would befull-color rather than monochromatic, and you could probably operate its every function by voice command... but then again, such a phone costs several hundred dollars. For the unbelievably low price of about $33... (which is what you would pay in just sales tax on the above-mentioned Apple-designed phone)... this is a bargain.I don't think a better general-use, land-line, home phone is available today. This is as good as it gets.

Another 5-star review? Yes, I do like the Panasonic KX-TG6511B that much. It really is excellent, though it isn't quite perfect. The handset weighs nicely in your hand, not too light but not too heavy either. Buttons have good action and respond well...the sound quality is excellent and the range appears to be as well - in fact I can walk all the way across my apartment from the base station and still be in "eco" mode, suggesting that the signal is still strong enough at that distance for the phone not to have to bump up the power. It supports all the essential stuff like caller ID, time and alarm clock, phone book and call log, voicemail access (I love the fact you're not buying a built-in answering machine you don't need), a very well readable backlit display, etc...but for those who want even more details, I respectfully defer to the many, many other reviews already written.A couple things that I think could be improved upon:1. Much of the text and numbers on the display is quite big. That makes for excellent readability, but sometimes I wish it was just a bit smaller so as to see more of it at once without having to scroll. This is really a minor issue in itself, but it is compounded by the extensive menu system which has a good number of sub-menus...you can only see one menu item at a time instead of a list of, say, four or five entries at once. So navigating the menus becomes a bit of a memory exercise in that you're trying to remember where you are now and where you just came from/are going back to once you're done.A plus: Many options can be directly accessed with a 3-digit code - Panasonic includes a list of these codes in the manual for quick reference. That does help a lot.2. The included rechargeable batteries could be of better quality.Panasonic includes 2 of its own AAA Ni-Mh batteries which have a stated minimum capacity of 550mAh. That's not very much, and worse yet, these aren't LSD (low self-discharge) batteries like the Sanyo Eneloops, for example. They work just fine for now, in fact the battery indicator on my phone is still "full" after 3 or 4 days off the base station. But some reviewers have been stating that their sets stop working after a few months and just die/have problems recognizing the base station/unexpectedly drop calls/etc. I actually suspect that at least in some cases, it's because of the batteries - and that better ones will fix or completely avoid these issues. I can only guess of course, but I do expect my phone to work for a long time. Should I ever run into the same problems, I'll go grab a nice pair of Sanyo Eneloop AAAs first thing and go from there (I'll update this review then).Aside from these two caveats...I'm totally happy with this set, it's exactly what I was hoping for. I give it 4.9 stars. :-)

Charged this product and set up yesterday am. Had to get to work. When I got home I called my home number from my cell to test this phone. It rang but would not work with my freestanding answering machine which worked just fine with my old phone. So this morning I called Panasonic, what a nightmare, first their voice auto system couldn't understand me using this new phone. Then, when I hit 0 enough times to convince the voice auto system to transfer me to a live person, I had to repeat the problem at least 3 times and she just couldn't get it. I asked to be transferred and was disconnected. I called back, same trouble with voice system, and when I got a live person, I couldn't hear her, even with the volume on high. I never had this issue with my old Panasonic that I am replacing (which has a dead battery, but was from 1994, it's time right?) So I ask for a supervisor. While I am waiting I turn off everything in the apt except the fridge and now I can hear the supervisor, so he says there is no problem with this phone, now that I can hear him. I explain I want to be able to hear all the time. He ignores me repeatedly tells me I have to contact the manufacture of the answering machine. Well, I rehooked up my old Panasonic phone and it works just fine with my answering machine. The machine is not the problem. I would keep my old phone but buttons are starting to stick, so decided on new phone, not new battery. So I hook back up this new phone, still doesn't work with the answering machine, recall Panasonic and still their voice system cannot understand me, get a live person, eventually after being transferred to Canada and meanwhile the phone breaks up off and on, is clear for a while. But especially bad static while on hold using speakerphone.New supervisor tells me to reset line from a to b to resolve the static and to call the answering machine company for the other problem.I want to return the phone for a refund, he says will only exchange. He says people have been complaining about Panasonic voice auto system today, it is not this new phone. I do this line a to b change under menu as instructed. Then I made a call, both myself and the other person had a very loud crackling. Very difficult to hear over. Customer service is now closed.I am going to try again in am for a refund but beware of this phone and this company. I had loved my old Panasonic phone. But because I was treated very poorly. I am done with Panasonic. I saw another reviewer complained to the BBB. If I every catch up for my lost time today, I am planning that as well.

Purchased this phone specifically because it has a headset plug. I needed a relatively basic cordless phone to replace a truly basic (no caller ID) old Radio Shack cordless phone whose headset plug had failed.I've had this phone for just over a month at this point and it has exceeded my expectations. The salient points for me are:1. It is noticeably clearer, both for myself and the person on the other line, than the phone it replaced.2. It has very long charge life. I use it for roughly an hour per day and it lasts anywhere from five to seven days from a fully-charged state until it notifies me I have to place it on the cradle (for 8 hours), sometimes longer. I assume this is in part due to the ECO mode (it has a handy "ECO" on the screen) which is active in my house anywhere up to 10 to 20 feet away from the base depending on intervening walls, hallway, etc.3. It uses a pair of standard AAA Ni-MH 550 mAh batteries instead of the usual proprietary phone battery. This is tremendous given that a replacement battery for the Radio Shack phone runs about $15 (and you have to be sure you get the right connector) while a pair of 900 mAh AAA batteries can be had for less than $6 here on Amazon. Assuming these batteries last as long as the proprietary batteries, this represents a tremendous savings. Now for a couple of minor quibbles:1. Although there is a volume control, when using the headset (Panasonic KX-TCA60) the volume is rather loud even on the phone's lowest setting (the headset does not have its own separate volume control). I deal with this by moving the headset's ear piece to the front of my ear rather than directly over it.2. For some reason the time displayed on the phone is ahead by one hour. This is despite the fact that I repeatedly set it to the correct time when I first programmed it - the phone always adds an hour sooner or later. I haven't been bothered by this enough to try and find a solution; it could be as simple as programming the time while on the cradle or something. In any case, those two issues don't take away from the quantum leap this phone represents over the one it replaced, so I rate it a full five stars.

Buy Panasonic KX-TG6512B with the expansion unit to the store Sax10 Company. It works perfectly, with the backlit keyboard, as we wanted because in the dark is easy to identify each key, in addition features a large screen and easy to read, so I think is a very good phone and worth recommended ; further inform you that I have not tried yet the total functions, but I am compelled to alert other users that rely on those comments we receive a product and reflect their assessments, so that this information will serve as a guidance when choosing a product. In my case I want to publish the following: My criticism is that Sax 10 Company Store sends me the phone without the original box, each piece wrapped in plastic and without the manual, but the worst part is that the unpacking, I notice the base or charger has a rayon ugly about 12 inches, so I think is a total lack of respect for us Amazon customers, as this bad practice of sending products with this type of damage is a joke for us consumers who pay the price offered to send us the product in perfect condition and not battered. For such unpleasant experience, I am compelled to express it this space for opinion to the thousands of visitors to this section, aware and are not affected with this type of malpractice Sax10 Company Store, and direct purchase another store reliability.

I bought this phone to replace and old Panasonic cordless phone that was dying of old age. I waited quite a while before writing this review. Basically, the phone is just fine. It has most of the features that I want. Sound is good. Battery lasts at least for a couple of hours. Speaker button and mute button easily accessible. Phone has a bunch of minor features that you have to read the manual to learn. All good. What's missing? I'd be happier if the phone's light blinked when there's a message waiting. In a dark room, I have to turn on a light or pick up the phone to find out. Also, my old Panasonic had a shoulder rest that snapped onto the belt clip. That was just wonderful. Unfortunately, the old rest doesn't fit on the new belt clip. You can't get shoulder rests for cordless phones. For those looking for a shoulder rest, here's an idea. I bought a Softalk Mini ShoulderRest. The problem with these rests for a cordless phone is that wherever you put them, you have a problem. You either block a vent or you block access to the battery. What I discovered is that if you CAREFULLY put the rest (it glues on) on the belt clip rather than the phone, you get a working rest that you can remove when you have to. Be careful that you glue it just right so you don't prevent the phone from sitting in the cradle. Not all of the glued part will fit on the clip so only remove some of the tape covering the glue. Hope this helps others who like shoulder rests. I don't sell Softtalk items so this is neutral advice. ;-)

We were so happy with the ease-of-use, rugged feel, range, and sound quality from this set that we bought two more KX-TGA651B units to go with it, and continue to be impressed.Pluses:* These phones use regular rechargeable NiMH batteries. When the batteries supplied with the phones die, you can replace them with store-bought ones, rather than having to order special parts from the factory.* The large text on the LCD display is easy to read. (On the other hand, the display, like any display, seems like it would be vulnerable to drops).* Speakerphone on each unit---a nice touch.* Shared address book/settings means most configuration options apply across all units in the system automatically.* Easy to add additional phones to the system---it supports up to six handsets; adding new ones is as simple as pressing a button.* Intercom feature---no more shouting between walls/floors. Each handset allows you to give it a custom name, making it easy to "call" a room in your house.* Multiple mounting orientations for base station; additional handset bases also provide wall-mount holes.Minuses:* When in "ECO" mode, there a very noticeable degradation in sound quality. There's no way to turn off this mode; it comes on when a handset is close to the base station. Solution: Move handset further away from base station when talking.* Phone book: It can only hold 50 numbers. Seems like a lot of space until you realize how useful it is, and then wish there was more room.* Phone book search: As far as I can tell, the only way to narrow results is by using the number pad and/or by searching within a "group". Unfortunately, pressing the number key more than once does not select the next letter on that key, so, if you press "4" to select names that start with the letter "H", you have to wade through the "G" names first. I admittedly have not really read the manual (the phones are that easy to use!), so maybe it's possible to find the "H"'s directly, but it's not obvious how.*Update*: Nix my "minus" on the phone book search. You can get to the "H"'s by pressing "4" more than once. I was pressing it too quickly. Press 4 to get to the "G"'s, wait, and then press "4" again, and it'll go to the "H"'s.

I wanted to wait a while before writing a review as some users have reported issues such as infant mortality with the power supply, noise and "failure to find base" problems. I have experience none of these issues thus far. I have no illusions that this phone will outlast the twenty-year old ATT cordless I replaced it with. It was clunky and huge with the old metal antenna, but it worked and worked and worked with only one battery change in 20 years. Will this phone last that long? We live in an era of increasing planned obsolescence. Nothing ever lasts as long as what it replaced. With the above in mind, so far, this product is far superior to what it replaced. I love the ability to block calls from annoying telemarketers, although be sure to keep the manual around for a while until you remember the codes that must be put in to program some advanced functions (product loses one star for that). Range from base is excellent; no noise or interference or dropped calls even through several walls and the second floor of the house. Volume is fine, but if you have any hearing loss, another product designed for loudness might be a better choice.I hate people that put me on speakerphone, so I never use that function so can't comment on it.As the subject line states... so far so good.

I bought these as A Christmas gift for my parents since my mom uses the phone a lot and the GE ones they had were wearing out. I haven't personally used them much but she seems to really like them. I think I read a review where someone said this model is lacking a mute button but that is incorrect ; they indeed have a mute button. I never received my first purchase of this item.. It ended up in Arkansas never to be found so I called amazon customer service and they were very helpful and quick about shipping another unit to me. Anyway the design is sleek, has a very readable bright white display, easy setup, and I love the fact you can use any rechargeable triple a batteries I believe in these phones instead of the 'old fashion' corded plug-in type where you needed a certain one. The only con I can really think of at the moment would probably have to be the ear piece sound option as at least one other review mentioned. I think it has four levels and still on the fourth it seems a bit quiet with certain calls to me but not bad and I don't think my mom has a problem with it because she uses them the most as I said and I haven't heard her complain about it so probably nit picking there somewhat. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and they seem like a solid set of phones at a good price. Hoping to get a lot of use out of these since overall I have heard good things about Panasonic.

These replaced an AT&T set that reproduced voice mail poorly. These are better but people still need to speak up as there is no adjustment on any of these for controlling the level of background noise in the recordings, known in radio parlance as 'squelch.' These phones dial numbers fairly slowly compared to others. Voice quality is good. Voice and voice mail reproduction could be louder. The batteries hold long charges. The lighted buttons and face are nice. The biggest drawback is the voice message indicator light. It's on the back of the phone and small. It flashes but can't be seen without intentionally looking at the phone. A message light on the front would be better. The system for recalling calls from memory is confusing. Sometimes the caller ID records a local phone number with a '1' in front of it and the phone won't redial without removing that digit. It also does the reverse, recording a long-distance number without the '1', thus requiring that digit to be introduced before the call can be made. A great function is the ability to block unwanted calling numbers. That has saved our dinner hour from solicitors. It has a limited capacity and expanding that would be nice.

This phone has SO many great features that were not a factor when I chose it, but which I love:1. You can BLOCK CALLS! Now, when I get one of those annoying calls that pretend to be from my credit-card company, I can block the number (there is room on the 'block list' for 30 numbers).2. It lets you know that you have voicemail. I sometimes use *70 (1170) when dialing calls that I don't want to have interrupted by call waiting. At other times, I will hear the beep and ignore it, and then promptly forget about it. In such cases, the only way to know that a call went into voicemail is to hear the rapid beeps before the dial tone, the next time I make a call. This phone 'blinks' at me to tell me that there is voicemail.3. You can set the phone so that it won't ring during the times that you choose ('silent mode', great for a bedroom).4. You can use the handsets as an intercom.I could go on and on, but I want to get to the "almost" in my title: One of the features that was most important to me when buying this phone was the headset jack, so that I could use the phone hands-free without using a speaker. I purchased a Panasonic headphone to go with it. Everything was wonderful for several weeks, and then the headphone jack started acting up. When I would unplug the headset from the jack, the phone would 'act' as though a headset was still plugged in, and would mute the normal dial tone. I would have to plug the headset in and out several times, and then the dial tone would suddenly be back. About a week later, the headset jack started to become so staticky that I couldn't use the headset at all in that particular handset. (The headset works fine in the second handset, so I know that the problem is with the first handset, and not with the headset).I'm now using the second handset as my primary phone, and am waiting for Panasonic to mail me a label so that I can return the defective handset. (At first, they refused to pay for my return shipping). I understand that it will probably take over a week to receive the return label (they would not email it), and -- once they receive the defective phone -- it may take two weeks to get a new one. I will update this review as appropriate.I suppose that I could have returned the entire package to amazon, but we had spent a long time 'customizing' the phone for our purposes, and I was hoping to avoid having to do all of that again.UPDATE: It took about two weeks to get the return label, and about a full month to get the new phone. But, the headset jack works fine. (The only "annoyance" is that our handsets are now numbered '2' and '3', because the base remembers the faulty one).

I needed one phone, not multiple phones, as I already had others. It fit the spot where i needed it and Panasonic gets good ratings. Price very reasonable. Sound quality is good. But it does not ring. Other phones ring in other rooms, but this one does not ring. I had called the manufacturer and asked if there was a ring silencer and been told it was a multi-step process of coding in the instruction not to ring if I didn't want to be disturbed at times, but this one saved me the trouble by simply not ringing at all! Also, when I called Panasonic and went over the features I wanted in order to pick a model, I was told that this one did flash a message light so I could see, as soon as I came into the room, whether i had messages. That turns out not to be true and is a far greater disappointment. This phone sits in a dark area in my kitchen. There is no red flashing light. To tell if there are messages one must pick up the hand set, carry it into better light, and read the black print across the face of the handset. Since I have never had to do that with prior phones, I often forget, & don't discover I had a message until I pick up the handset to make a call the next day

My 10-year-old V-Tech phones are finally wearing out, so I began by buying a Uniden package at a warehouse club. The line noise was awful, so back it went. Then I bought a Panasonic system at a store and found the Amazon reviews to be so negative that I didn't even bother to open the box. The reviews for the KX-TG6512 are much better, so I decided to give it a shot.1. It is a handsome phone.2. The menu-programming is primitive, as if the smartphone era had never arrived. (I docked it a star for that.)3. I detect no line noise.4. It is ergonomically comfortable.5. Panasonic's increased price for a second handset is $15 list, and the third is $20 list. Makes no sense, but is characteristically Panasonic.6. Good volume with and without speakerphone.I use my cordless phones with an OBi100 VoIP Telephone Adapter and Voice Service Bridge connected to a router. The Obi100 is programmed so I can access Google Voice. It works almost flawlessly, with no ongoing cost, and much better and cheaper than Magic Jack. It exploits Google Voice features, such as Caller ID and call recording, and my voicemails can be accessed remotely using any phone, as well as being saved to my email account. The primary phone base is just inches from the router but with no detectable interference.Update: Two months along I judge this the best cordless phone I've ever owned. The menu could be improved.

I always make sure to research prospective new purchases by reading the reviews on amazon.com, and it appeared that the majority of purchasers were pleased with this particular model of cordless phone. The price was within my budget; I received the phone quickly; set-up was easy; and all seemed to be good with the product. I originally purchased the phone at the end of April 2012, and all of a sudden, one day in mid-August of 2012, the sound volume on the phone stopped working completely - I was barely able to hear the party on the other end of the line, and they could barely hear me at all. The problem was the same for each individual handset; attempting to change the volume control did absolutely nothing; and none of the trouble-shooting advice (either in the manual OR on the website) did anything at all to help. It was obvious that the problem was in the phone itself and not the line, since my line worked fine when I plugged in any other phone to test. After this occurred, I went back read over some of the lower rated reviews here on amazon.com, and it seems like I am not the only one to experience issues that appear in this model after several months of use. It is ridiculous to me, though, to have a product break-down so quickly and to (apparently) happen to so many other customers as well. Even though the phone was still under warranty to Panasonic, it was not worth my while to pay $30 to ship this defective model back to them, and I ended up purchasing an A T & T cordless model, which so far seems to be working fine. I doubt if I would ever purchase another Panasonic Cordless phone system again, however.

I've been using this phone for about a month now. I purchased it for the sole purpose of being able to attach a corded headset to it. I talk A LOT on the phone and try to do other things at the same time. With my old phone my shoulder was killing me from trying to hold the phone. I purchased a Plantronics M214C corded headset to use with this phone. It works great.Pros:The phone has a regular jack port on the side of each handset for the corded telephone headset. The display shows the time VERY LARGE (about 1/2" high), so I can easily see what time it is anytime.Display also shows the date, though not quite as large, but almost. The phone works flawlessly with my vonage box. The phone even shows the caller ID of the calls I missed while I was talking on the phone. (My previous V-Tech phone didn't do that. It didn't even show I missed a call if I was on the phone when the call came in.)The battery lasts FOREVER. Seriously. I've not run one down yet and I've talked for at least 4 hours straight at times. (My previous V-Tech would last a little less than an hour of actual talk time.)Range seems to be great. I walk outside and talk with no problems. All the feature buttons are well marked so I don't have to guess at anything. If I have a voicemail (on vonage) the phone displays a voicemail menu automatically so I can easily get my messages. It also allowed me to program in my voicemail # so if I have a vm, a menu pops up with a button to push for the phone to call my voicemail. If I miss a call, it automatically displays the correct buttons to scroll through the Caller ID.Sound quality is excellent with or without the headset.BIGGEST PRO: at least with the headset on, background noise around me is muted out very well. With my old phone I couldn't wash the dishes (yes, by hand) and talk to someone on the phone because they couldn't hear me over the running water. With this one, they don't even hear it. I don't know what the background noise level is without the headset, because I always use it. Also, my husband says I don't sound any different on the headset than without it. Both sound excellent.Cons:Honestly, after a month of use, I can't think of any. The only thing I wish is that the removable clip was actually a clip (like a spring-loaded clip). The clip is like every other clip on every other cordless phone. I wish they'd make one that would actually grip to something. I slide the thing over my waistband or pocket and if I lean over it falls right off.I'd buy this phone again in a heartbeat. I was so disappointed with my previous V-Tech cordless phone purchase, so I was hesitant. But this one was worth every penny I paid for it and then some!!!

Just needed a budget land line for infrequent use and to catch all of the sales pitches and general things that I prefer to keep off of my cell number.Nice size handset. Larger than a cell phone but I prefer that in a land line. Not too big and bulky. Can't really speak to battery life yet as It's only been hooked up for a few weeks but so far so good. Good call quality. Works well with my Cox voice mail setup and is easy to set up. Supports the features of my phone carrier and my plan well. I really like the text size on the handset display. Seems bright enough but I haven't had the phone outside. My well washout in sunlight but not a big complaint since that's not going to be common or a big issue for me anyway. Range from the base seems fine. No complaints. It does not interfere with my Cisco wireless network. I came in to this wanting a V-tech for sound clarity and reputation as a good budget phone. I have experience with Panasonic business systems and they were ok but nothing special. The other reviews here caused me to re-think and go with this particular Panasonic over the V-Techs. So Far I am very happy with it overall.

I switched to a Panasonic from a VTech for one primary reason. I have to have a belt clip so I can walk around and talk on the phone while doing other things. My old VTech had a belt clip but they did away with that feature and this Panasonic has that feature so I decided to make the change. The ratings for the Panasonic were good, so I decided to make the change and I'm glad that I did. The Panasonic is a very good phone with good features such as caller ID, phone logs, good range (much better than the VTech), etc. so I am very happy so far with the change. It's also a plus that it has regular AAA batteries vs the specialty batteries the VTech had. Oh almost forgot - the Panasonic has a headset plug where the VTech did away with that too, so if you prefer to use a headset, this is the phone for you. The belt clip and headset plug sold me and the phone is as good or better than the VTech so I am very pleased.

Have only used for one full day, however there are a few points.Love the easily replaceable batteries, you can buy them at any big box store rather than hunting down your phone model number, crossing it on some online store and ordering with your fingers crossed that you will get the correct battery with the correct pigtail. This unit replaces an older AT&T setup that we have hated from day one. That unit does not allow another handet to pickup and join a conversation, or if it does it requires some special secret decoder ring key press sequence, this one does.I call home every day before leaving from work, today's call was notable for the improved sound and clarity.Light, compact hand sets.No answering machine, thank you Panasonic for realizing that there are people who hate answering machines.Kudos to Portable Guy for packaging and shipping. On time and in one piece, how much more is there to ask for?

I had to replace my Uniden two handset cordless phones, and thought I'd try the Panasonic brand which used to be a favorite of mine years back. My first cordless phone was a Panasonic and it was perfect.Negatives:1. OK, so I plugged these in, and couldn't understand why I hadn't received any calls over the next day or so. Then I realized the blinking light is a pale amber color, not red. Too difficult to notice.2. I noted the indicator light is not really dead front, but more off to the side, so you have go over to the phone and stare at it for a few seconds to see if you have messages! How rediculous and the worst feature.3. Most cordless phone's indicator light stay on when it's sitting correctly in the craddle. This stays on for a few minutes, then goes off. A little thing, but for the first couple of weeks I kept checking to be sure it was charging in the craddle.Possitives:On the plus side, there's no interference from any other electronics in the house and the sound quality is quite good. So, did I dislike them enough to return them? No. Would I recommend them? No.

I've always had Panasonic phones. Not deliberate on my part, just always worked out that way. This system met the needs my wife and I had for our home. We were tired of dragging around various handsets and of discovering that the one that was upstairs needed to be charged when it was needed to be used, creating the inconvenience of having to go downstairs and get the other handset. With this system, the handsets are always on the chargers. The convenience is delightful. The sound quality is excellent and the handset is fitted with a non-skid strip that allows the user to pinch the phone between chin and shoulder without slipping. There is also an outlet for a headset.I admit, this system has many fancy features, some of which we are still discovering. I think the only thing it won't do for us is make the morning coffee. We find this product to meet our needs perfectly and recommend it highly.

For years we have been unsuccessful in looking for a cordless phone to replace the quality of our old Uniden 900MHz phone. That is, until we tried this Panasonic product. We started with the 3-phone package in Dec 2011 and recently (Aug 2012) added another 3-phone package to bring us to six total phones all on the same base system. It works perfectly for us. The sound quality is excellent and the range allows us to go anywhere in the house and all over our 3/4 acre yard. It is exactly what we were hoping for. The intercom between phones works really well and the package is attractive enough to have one in our living room. Here are the only things that bother me about the phone:- The menu system on the phone is not all that intuitive. I don't use it all that much so it's only a minor gripe.- Getting the most recent missed call always trips me up. You have to use the arrow keys and I almost ALWAYS get the oldest call instead of the newest one.- Once turned on, you can't turn the speaker phone off. This one is more of an annoyance to me than the others in that once you engage the speakerphone it cannot be turned off until the call is ended.Admittedly the above are nits, which is why I give the phone 5-stars.For those that are interested in how we added the second base unit to the first set, we simply powered on the base unit without plugging it into the phone jack. We then registered its phone with the original base unit and now all six phones ring and intercom together.
