Panasonic PhoneWorks good for an inexpensive phone. We needed a phone w/ wall mount and this one had it. It's fine.

I know that a lot of people are using their home phones less and less these days because of cell phones - but we still use ours a lot. Believe it or not, my wife was interviewed to be on the Oprah show a few years ago because of the amount of time she spends on the phone:). With her and the three kids competing for the phones, these end up getting a lot of hard use.Anyway, the main problems we run into with phones are typically sound quality and durability.With these DECT 6.0+ phones from Panasonic, the sound quality is truly as good as a corded phone. We live in a 3000 square foot, 2-story house and these phones easily cover that space as well as the yard. We never really take the handsets past the yard boundaries, so I don't know what the maximum range is before these start breaking up. I'm also an early-adopter tech person; so our house is probably one of the most challenging environments a wireless phone could exist in.This is the second set of DECT 6.0 phones we've had from Panasonic and the sound quality is head and shoulders above the wireless phones we've had from other manufacturers.When it comes to features, here are the things we like about these:1) The handsets have pocket clips that work well and stay attached to the phone for walking around.2) There is a headset jack on the handsets, which is also great for walking around.3) Panasonic has improved the caller ID and redial features from their previous generations - both features are now much easier to access.4) I like that the lights on the handset tend to stay off in the base unit so we can sleep with the phone in its base.5) These phones use standard NiMH AAA batteries, so they are easy to replace, or even to charge outside the phone if you want.6) We use voicemail anyway, so I like that this particular phone does NOT include an answering machine. (I hate paying for a feature that we'll never use.)7) I love that we can pick up any handset and immediately join the call without having to do anything special to let a new caller join.8) The handsets are a great size and shape - so they're very easy to use. I can't imagine wanting a home phone that is the size of a cell phone...As far as durability goes, we've only had these for a couple of weeks now so it's hard to know how long they will last. They do feel solid; and, based on the longevity of our last Panasonic phones, I'm expecting that they will last quite a while. In fact, the last Panasonic DECT 6.0 cordless phones we owned are the first phones we've ever had that have made it past a year without breaking - and they lasted more than two years! I've come to the conclusion that Panasonic phones are the only phones available that can be dropped repeatedly (including an occasional dunk in the sink or bounce off the tile) without completely dying.Overall, if you're looking for a high-quality phone that doesn't have an answering machine, I think this phone should be at the top of your list. I won't claim to have used every phone that is currently on the market; but we are extremely pleased with these![*** UPDATE 8/11/2011 ***]Well, it looks like Panasonic did it again! We've had these phones for over a year now and they're still going strong. Before you know it, we're going to be expecting our phones to last longer than a year... :)

My outdated cordless phone system (another brand) was not "user friendly". Panasonic is a great product and I will not ever buy another brand.

This is a great product--simple to use, and setup. Screen is large, and has large letters for easy reading. I have always found Panasonic telephones to be the best.

Like most Panasonic equipment, this looks good and works as expected with very good reception. Note that this does not have a built in answering machine. Since I use the Fios answering service, no problem.

After having both a Uniden and a V-tech fry their bases, this is a relief. I almost bought this first, but a review complaining of "cellphone" like sound and button configuration put me off. I wish I hadn't listened. This phone has excellent sound and range. The display is large and clear (a relief after the V-tech). The menus are logical and easy to navigate. The ringer is both loud and melodic - a rare combination. Overall a great phone!

I have owned 3 different Generations of Panasonic cordless phones since 2005 and they just keep getting better and better. I still have and use my first generation Panasonic cordless phone from 2005. I don't even think about getting any other kind of Brand name cordless phone, as I will always be loyal to Panasonic. phone. This latest phone from Panasonic is really unique in it has a few features that are pretty cool. Like caller block and my favorite feature,the ability to set how long you want to have silent mode active for.. The call quality is nothing short of spectacular.. I am so impressed that I already ordered the matching answering machine set for my other two areas of the house.If you want a top rated phone that will last you years and years, just purchase this today and you will be glad you did...

I was looking for a cheaper digital cordless phone, but I wanted one with a headset jack for hands-free operation (wasn't looking for BlueTooth). I ordered the Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset with Comfort Fit Headband for about $9 to go with it.This phone works well for what I need it for. Sound quality is good and so is the battery life. It uses rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries (included), so I won't need to search around for an expensive specialized battery pack when the time comes to replace them.By the way, I'm using this phone with the OBi100 VoIP Telephone Adapter and Voice Service Bridge and GoogleVoice but I would expect the call quality to be as good with a "real" land line. For those interested in the Obi, the caller ID information, call waiting "beep" and switching between callers with the flash button works perfectly.The cons are that the usability of the phone menus aren't the greatest. When entering name and number into the phone book, it doesn't automatically handle the upper/lower case like some other phones do, for example. Also, accessing the directory seems to take longer than it should, and there are some cases when it should just perform an action instead of waiting for me to hit select again. There are a few other quirks like this that make me think the employees don't use their own products, but overall my complaints are pretty minor. It would be great to be able to pull in the contacts from my cell phone via BlueTooth, but that's too much to expect at this price point (if your interested in cell phone integration, take a look at the Panasonic KX-TG7622B DECT 6.0 Link-to-Cell via Bluetooth Cordless Phone, Black, 2 Handsets model).

We've had this phone for at least six months now, and we've really liked it. They are much clearer than the last phone we had. The docks work well, and the phone searching button does its job. I'd recommend this phone.

Had an old Panasonic system and need two more phones in the house. Easy set up and was ready to go. Have used it for several months now. Love that the ringtones can be varied and match the ringtones on my old system.

I purchased this Panasonic DECT 6.0 Plus phone system after returning a Vtech system (Vtech CS6219-2 DECT 6.0 Expandable 2-Handset Cordless Phone System with Caller ID and Handset Speakerphone (CS6219-2)) because there were no hands-free headset jacks on those phones. I work at home quite a bit and spend a lot of time on my land-line, so the ability to use a hands-free headset with the Panasonic phones (which all have headset jacks and belt clips) has been a godsend. I purchased a Panasonic headset (Panasonic KX-TCA60 Hands-Free Headset with Comfort Fit Headband), and it works perfectly with this new phone system.The Panasonic system is so easy and quick to set up that even the most non-tech-savvy person will have it up-and-running within minutes. I purchased a couple of additional accessory handsets (Panasonic KX-TGA401B DECT 6.0 PLUS Additional Digital Handset for the KX-TG4000 Series) to put around the house, and they all paired very easily with the main base unit. The voicemail notification feature (blinking light and on-screen indicator) work seamlessly with Vonage voicemail. The system even lets you input your voicemail access number and password into the phone's memory so you can check your voicemail with the push of a single button, without having to key the numbers in each time. In addition, the Panasonic system has a number of other user-friendly features, such as the ability to change the settings (e.g., date/time, ringtone selection, call log, etc.) on one handset, and have it automatically change those settings on all other paired phones.The signal and voice clarity have been great so far, with and without the hands-free headset. Callers can hear me very clearly, and I them. I also have a WiFi router and several wireless devices around the house, and the Panasonic phones are completely unaffected by them.It was much more difficult than I'd anticipated to find a DECT 6.0 cordless phone without an answering system (and with a voicemail indicator and headset-jack to boot!), online or in stores. I'm so glad I persevered and eventually found this Panasonic system. So far, owning it has been a breeze. Just goes to show that there's no need to pay big bucks for a "sexy," high-priced cordless phone system to get solid performance. A+

Works well with an Obi100 and Google Voice for free VOIP. The call quality is very good. I've had much better luck with Panasonic phones than other brands.

I really love this phone. I bought it to replace a Uniden. This one is really awesome. It's got a real clear connection. I hope I never have to use the protection plan I purchased with this phone.

These phones worked fine but they had no voice mail option. However they did accept them back even though it cost me almost 10 bucks with no postal refund let alone the hassle expense. They told me they had a disclaimer about the voice mail but I have yet to find it. They are way too expensive not to have the most basic options, don't buy them.

I had a set of Panasonics with a little joy stick type of control in the center. It worked great so I ordered another set of Panasonics to supplement the 2 in the house. Now they have changed the joy stick to a button and it's hell to use. I was able to program my ringtone from the choices only by getting to that option by accident as trying to choose it just bypasses it to the next option, which is volume I think.If you can figure this function out, then it would get 5 stars from me.

This Panasonic system works very well with Vonage. My only reason for not giving this a full 5 starts is because it did not come with the Bluetooth capabilities of other Panasonic models. The range is fantastic and call quality is top notch.
