I wanted a phone without an answering machine, with two handsets. The choices were slim so I finally settled on this phone. It's easy enough to set up and operate and the numbers are easy to see. Sound is quite good My old phone's screen was lit so I could see if I had messages at a glance, because of the power save this doesn't do that but has a slow on off light signal. When I'm talking on the phone and receive another call, the screen doesn't light up so if I'm in the dark, I can't see who's calling. This is my only real complaint. Oh and I wanted a steel phone not black, they are hard to find without an answering machine.

This telephone comes with lots of options, or so the manual says. I wouldn't know, since all I wanted was a cordless telephone which was easy to set up and easy to use. This system is just that and I had it up and running in minutes. The handsets are comfortable to hold and use, the sound is clear, and the range is sufficient to cover my entire house. I've had several cordless systems over the years; this one is the best by far. Highly recommended.

I had been looking for a cordless phone for over a month and I went online to Amazon, not only was the price right but the phones are the best cordless phones I have had. The directions were clear on usage and they have rechargeable batteries and I did not have to wait 24 hours to charge the phones. The handsets are a perfect size. I would recommend these phones to anyone. The only problem I have with this phone is the call waiting feature seems to have a be a problem when you switch over to talk on the other line it cuts off the caller

Using these phones throughout our house, and they work great. The nicest feature is that the characters on the display are large and easy to read without having to get our reading glasses! Never a problem with reception or clarity. Also love the caller-ID feature to ignore spam calls.

This is the second set I've purchased. The first set worked fine for a couple of weeks and gradually the sound quality deteriorated. Finally, I called Amazon when I felt like I was talking in a tunnel on every call. I figured I just got the lemon and reordered the same Panasonic KX-TG6512B. My new set arrived and I set them up. Sound was wonderful and after a few days, I mailed the first set back. Not two hours after I dropped them off at the post office, I made a call and although I could hear the normal sound while pushing the numbers, what I got after dialing was the dial tone. After checking my hardwired phones, I knew my new Panasonic phones bit the dust. I could still answer the phones when they rang, well for a couple of hours anyway, then they would just cut off the caller when I answered. These are going back and I'll try another manufacturer. If you do purchase these phones and have a problem, save your time and order something different.

This is not sold for its speaker phone feature, but it has one and it works really fine!I have had many phones in my 56 years here on Earth and this one is one of the easiest to set-up: the menu options to scroll through and button pushing was breezy-easy.I've had it two days, and the only thing I'm a bit disappointed about is the "grip feature." This grip feature is only a small area on the rear side, and does NOT function if one uses the clip -why not make the clip grippy too?! I imagined, foolishly, that the entire telephone had the grippy material. I am a quadriplegic without much hand grip, so any help I can get from manufacturers is a bonus. I'd have given it a 5-rating had the grippy stuff been everywhere.This unit has A LARGE SCREEN WITH HUGE readout which I like. It runs on 2 AAA baatteries and TWO RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES COME WITH THE PRODUCT. Cool. It's compact so it fits nicely on my night table. There are lots of ringer options as well as a quiet option too. It's a nice phone for the price. I'd recommend it to a friend... but never to a foe!!!

Beware, you get what you pay for. This phone inexplicably cuts off the conversation after a 10 to 15 seconds. When you try to use the line it still shows its in use but neither party can hear each other. This happens on all the handsets. Customer service was not helpful in resolving the issue. Going to send it back and try another brand.

There are a LOT of cordless phones available and a great many of them are similar base-station plus expansion sets style. My last one was a GE and after moving to bigger living accomodations decided that I needed to add another handset. Trouble was, the cost of that handset I might as well get another one that already had two handsets. Casual word of mouth led me to this one. I didn't expect there to be any lick of difference between the brands I could have gotten with these features, and in the past I've owned several brands (some only slightly better than others). To my surprise, I actually LIKE this phone. More than I should probably. And I can't explain why. Feature for feature it's the same as GE and others. But it looks, feels, and sounds better to me.

Finally totally exasperated with my relatively new Uniden phone system (less than 3 years old) which repeatedly lost its charge during a 30 minute phone call, I ordered this Panasonic product. With Verizon voice mail, I realized I had no further need for an answering machine so the 2 phones were adequate. I am completely happy. The phone stays charged even if I leave it off the base overnight, the features are relatively easy to program, and when confused, the website has an excellent backup guide. Some features new to me that I have come to value are the ability to block certain callers and the fact that programing on one handset is automatically installed on the other--a great improvement over Uniden which required each item to be entered on each hand set. I can recommend this product which I've now been using for maybe 2 months. The only disappointment is a limited number of ring choices. I miss the Star Spangled Banner.Virginia L. I like this phone for its very clear and very good voice clarity. I mostly use the phone with speaker mode. It has enough loud voice in speaker mode that I can use the phone, keeping it in speaker mode, I can talk while am involved in my other works around. Micro phone is enough powerful to capture the voice even from a long distance.I preferred this one more than the Bluetooth feature one ( which is costing more than this), thinking that I can use this with a head set, but after receiving the phone, I realized that I can't use my regular headset with this phone. This is something that I felt bad about this phone. I did not understand why they did not followed a standard headset model jack for this ..!! I need to buy a new headset which is suitable for this. So, for now, I am just using with speaker phone.

As others have said, I believe, it is hard to find a phone that doesn't include an answering machine, which of course makes the primary unit larger and more unsightly on one's kitchen counter. This phone was easy to set up, and since I had just set up another phone that didn't work properly, I had something quite recent to compare it to. The sound is good, the phone is lightweight (I have arthritis in my wrists so this is important to me), it has all the features I would want save one (a flashing light to tell me that I have a message from my answering service). It does, however, tell you on the screen that you have a message. All in all, an excellent value. I'd buy it again.

These cordless phones are excellent.The display is nice and bright and easy to read in practically any lighting condition. The Keys are large and back-lite for ease of use. The voice quality is clear and crisp on both ends of a comversation. The speaker phone feature is especially practical for hands free communications and the Intercom feature is great.I recommend these cordless phones without reservations.

We previously had a 2.4GHz Panasonic phone set that was about 5 years old. As we added multiple wireless networks and devices to or home, our old wireless phones got worse and worse until they were routinely dropping callsBought these SPECT 6.0 phones and it just works: clear sound even out in the yard, no dropped calls, decent battery life. I would be these again.

Bought these for my parents. So far, they seem to be working very well. Display is clear and sound is good. I ended up ordering them for my self. The only strange things is the price had gone up $17 in 1 week from when i first bought them, and then dropped to $3 less. But price aside, these appear to be good phones (sometimes only time will tell).

We had a Panasonic cordless that had treated us well. We needed 3 handsets and bases, so I was excited to see this one was a panasonic. It works fine. It's not as nice as our old one, but it works and we haven't had any issues. What makes me not put 5 stars are minor. 1-when pressing the phone book option it takes a second before it brings it up (our old phone was instant) 2-when we have voicemail if we don't push a certain button (we have 2 options) the "new voicemail" prompt is still on the screen and the light still flashes (where the antenna would be) 3-the graphics are "old school" very pixelated letters. But as far as call quality, we have been satisfied. Especially since we didn't want an answering machine with it and we wanted 3 bases and handsets. So, for the price this is a good deal!

I recently purchased this phone and so far I like the sound quality and one of the ring tones is not obnoxious so that's a plus. I like the lighted dial and display features. The book of instructions to set up certain things is a bit confusing and could be made simpler but I called Panasonic and they walked me through what I needed while I was on the phone with them. The one thing that is annoying to me is the message alert light. It is so small and placed to the back of the handset so you can't see if you have a message until you are right on top of the phone. Would have been much better to have the message alert light on the base or more towards the front of the phone. This is the one thing that might cause me to return this phone and look for another. The placing and size of the alert light is clearly not something Panasonic thought out properly.

This phone was rated highly by Consumers Reports and I am very happy with my purchase. The most important features for me are: 1) Large, Bright, Easy to Read Screen with Good Contrast; 2) Speaker Phone 3) Good Caller ID Call Back feature that works easily -- even calls from out of my area code can be called back with just the push of a button; 4) Radio Frequency doesn't seem to conflict with WiFi like my previous cordless; and finally 5) a Bonus feature I wasn't anticipating -- each separate handset can be set to answer when you pick it up off it's base or not, or to ring or not. There are lot's of other features to the phone as well for those who enjoy such things. Oh yes, very happy with the cost!

I hunted for a simple phone set because one of my AT&T phones went bad. I found out I couldn't replace the handset. The Panny's consistently got the best reviews, both from users and C.R. I wasn't disappointed. The sound quality is very good (both on our end and the other). One really nice feature is the extra large font in the display. Last I have not had any issues with the design. Some models of other manufacturers have had complaints about how the unit sits in their hands making it difficult to use while holding the handset. My model did not come with the built in answering machine.

The phone works fine and the price is quite affordable. Couple problems I found which is why I only give it 4 stars. First, the volume is a bit low on both ringer & handset even setting them to maximum. Second, the auto adjusting date & time based on caller id doesn't work because it doesn't compensate for daylight savings time. I ended up setting it to manual.

I bought the phone and headset and it works well, the sound quality is fine and menu and buttons are clear and work well. My phone suddenly stopped connecting to the base after 3 months. The base had power but just but the hand set just would not connect. I think there was a thunder storm which fried its internals so I will give it the benefit of the doubt and still give it 4 stars as otherwise its a great phone.

I bought this phone specifically for my office because it has a jack for a standard headset (vs having to use a Plantronics specialty headset), I've bought several expandable digital cordless phones in the past and none of them had room for headsets - this seems like a basic feature but apparently manufacturers think otherwise. The phone display is very clear and the menu makes it easy to figure out without much effort. I would recommend this unit, specially if you plan to be on the phone several hours a day and you like to use headsets.

Got this with the idea of trying a new setup in my house, since the intercom funtion would be great in my house, then we don't need to shout.- Audio quality is FANTASTIC! Didn't know a phone could sound so good - DECT is really awesome. Although you will only really hear its full potential when using intercom with the other handset, since then both are digital DECT and on normal call the quality is limited by the phone line and the other person's phone, but still better than normal.- Intercom is a great capability, and I'll probably expand with extra handsets just so I can have this function in other rooms of the house. Wish it had a dedicated button for it, but its still easy to access, and you can name the handsetc so it will show on the list of other handsets you can call.- Button layout it ok, but could be better, more organized and simple.- Very sleek and nice to hold.- Range seems very good, much better than older regular cordless phones. The second handsets works just fine being almost 20 meters/ 65 feet away from the base, on the second floor, and separated by many concrete brick walls.- Buttons are a slightly hard to press, but thats not a problem at all for anyone here at home. Love the backlight function, very useful. I am just worried a but, since various Panasonic phones I've had before, started having problems with the keypad after some time, where the keys became hard to press, and unresponsive. But no sign of that for now. If it does start to happen, Ill come back to update this post!Anyway, I recommend this phone !

I haven't had a home phone for 5 yrs and just recently had one hooked up. We still use our cell phones for most of our calls. Panasonic has always produced a great quality cordless phone which is the reason I chose this phone. I have in the past had vtech phones that have had nothing but problems. I have now had this phone for 2 months, and it works great. Has some great features such as call block and adjustable ringer volume which is a must with a 2 yr old who goes to be early. We do not have the need to expand to more than one unit, but I like that we have the option if we choose.

I bought this phone less than a year ago -price and features were just perfect!Phone has been working just fine but all of a sudden after 10 months the telephone base stopped transmitting.I called Amazon and they said since it is more than 30 days since purchase I should call Panasonic for repair.Have been on the phone with Panasonic the past 30 minutes listening to their "elevator music".The product seems to be suffering from poor parts reliability. I will update my review if I hear something good from Panasonic, otherwise my recommendation is to stay away from this model.

I just received my 3-handset Cordless Panasonic Set. Right off, Pananconic did it again. Thank you for making it easier to get the battery door open. The last set (NOT Panasonic) I had to use a screw driver to get the door open, really! The buttons are great, the screen lettering is great - I don't need a magnifying glass to see what's on there. I am totally impressed and will be looking at more Panasonic products - still. Great buy Amazon, thank you!

i had panasonic phones several years ago and so far these live up to my expectations... i did start out with a Uniden set , mainly because they were available in a store. well, it went back in a hurry... the display went crazy. i havent sat down and figured the address book etc or set up speed dialling yet but the calls are very clear .. I like the lighted key pad and the display .....i use voice mail from my phone service and have no problems so far.... great phones

After coping with low-battery "beeping" on our old Conairphone 2.4, we decided it was time to shop for a new phone. After checking Consumer Reports and reviews on Amazon we decided on the Panasonic KX-TG51B DECT 6.0 system with 3 handsets for $46.33 from Amazon. We find the phones completely satisfactory. The only small glitch is that the screen often shows "Missed Call" even after we've taken care of the call. This is probably because we have an answering service through Verizon and don't rely on the phone itself.
