I purchased this item for my husband in order to use with GT5. He says it works great and has all the features he was looking for.

Let me begin by saying that I'm reviewing as someone with a long history of experience driveng a wide variety of cars at race speeds both on and off pavement. I would expect a steering wheel to be a relatively easy thing to simulate.So, the big issue...The force feedback, primarily with GT5, is absolutely ridiculous to the point of being curse-worthy. Constantly, with no rationale, there is a little jackhammer going off inside the wheel that blasts it in a random direction at a random time. The response to inputs is slow and unrealistic, and generally causes you to over-correct and quickly lose control. You spend much more time worrying about dicking with the crazy steering wheel than actually figuring out how to drive. Surprisingly, the hardest part of any course with this wheel is a straightaway, as the force feedback seems determined to overreact to all of your slightest inputs and fling you out of control. I've driven MANY cars at high speed and have NEVER, EVER felt anything so horribly uncontrollable and irritating as this wheel. If I ever run across a car that responds like this wheel, I will run the other direction in fear of my life. It's that bad.That said, I may have a bad model, but there are plenty others out there with the same problem... seems like you have 50/50 odds of getting a great product or a travesty like mine (or, 50% of reviewers are under 15 and have no idea what a real car is like, so it's fine to them). Either way, I cannot in good faith recommend that anyone buy this product, especially for use with Gran Turismo 5.

I am using this steering wheel for Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and GTR: Evolution (and other simbin sims). You get the following items in the box: the steering wheel itself, the pedals, and the power supply. The steering wheel feels very good in your hands, and the overall build quality is very good. The only thing I do not like on the steering wheel is the sequential gear lever that's to the right of it. There seem to be some contact issues which make it very hard to do sequential down-shifts (i.e. you're coming up to a corner, full brakes, you need to go down from 5th gear to 2nd gear). This is very disappointing when you are driving a DTM/WTCC touring car which use these types of gear levers in real life. However, the paddle shifters are excellent, and are extremely fun to use. I love the Manettino dials on the wheel. In GT5, they allow you to tweak the car's handling during the race (brake balance, traction control, ASM, torque distribution, etc), and in GTR: Evolution I set them to control the pit stop menu and brake distribution. The pedals on the other hand feel very cheap (probably because they are), and I really wish Logitech made them out of metal instead of plastic (but then that's why there is the G27). The force feedback is superb. The gears are a little loud, but you won't be able to hear them when you are actually racing. Once you play a racing game with a feedback steering wheel, you cannot go back to anything else. The feeling you get when you're blasting down the Mulsanne straight in a Le Mans racer while feeling every bump through the steering wheel is unbelievable. Completely worth the price of admission. Please note that if you are going to use this for your PC, make sure you download the drivers from Logitech's website to enable all the features.

you must have this... i loved it ..also if you play like one hour... you get tiered .. as if you were driving.. if you love racing you must buy this !!!!!!

Kids and adults have fun with this! Game takes a bit to set up, but the racing wheel product works great! Everyone was excitedly waiting their turn to play!

I use this steering wheel for Gran Turismo 5. With the paddle shifters it make game driving real. I fully enjoy this product.

Great product. Excellent build quality. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys playing driving games. I played this with gt5 and had no issues.

Just got this wheel the other day from Amazon, and I can say that this is the best wheel I have used to date.I previously used a Thrustmaster Enzo, which while it had strong force feedback, had a bad dead spot, and wasn't very easy to drive. Also, the pedals needed to have a 50lbs dumbbell set behind them so they wouldn't move. Also, the feedback was rather clunky, but better than nothing.Next, I moved on to the Logitech Momo (which is essentially a Driving Force Pro for the PC; same motor, gears, and bearing system). A better wheel than the Enzo in some areas; the pedal setup was miles better, with the (probably) patented carpet tack thingy found on most Logitech Wheels, but also not as strong a feedback motor as on the the Enzo. Also, the force feedback never felt as fluid as I would have liked, and as a result I sometimes didn't have the confidence I should have when trying that overtaking maneuver at speed.Which brings me to this wheel, the Logitech Driving Force GT. I purchased it mainly because my girlfriend has a PS2, has GT4, but doesn't have a wheel, and my Logitech Momo wasn't recognized by the PS2. As I'm sure you all know, playing GT4 without a wheel just simply won't do. Also, I'm buying a PS3 as soon as GT5 comes out, so I thought I might was well kill several birds with a single stone.This thing is the bee's knees. Yes, it works on your PC, in case you were wondering. So if you've got anything other than the G25 wheel, get this one, and sell the one to cover your losses. I play racing sims a lot; GT Legends, GTR2, rFactor, LFS, and just for fun (not really a sim), Test Drive Unlimited. On the PS2, just GT4. I haven't purchased a PS3 yet mainly due to the fact that the ONLY game I care about for the PS3 is GT5.So now that you know that it works on your PC, PS2, and PS3, I'll try to let you know how well it works.I've used the fabled G25 wheel before. It's $300, and I'm not so willing to shell out that kind of money for a video game controller, but yes, it is nice, and is one of the best force feedback wheels you can purchase. Well, this one uses the same force feedback motor, gears, and sample rate, and cost less than half as much. It is miles ahead of my Logitech Momo. 900' of rotation I thought at first would be a gimmic, and something I wouldn't ever use... wrong. It makes the fine control of the car that much more realistic, and therefore makes driving quickly and precisely that much easier. It makes for a totally immersing driving experience, which is what a force feedback wheel controller should be all about.The wheel is thinner than the Momo, but a lot more comfortable in hand. It's also much larger in diameter than the Momo or Driving Force Pro, which really helps with the overall feel. I also found the build quality much higher than the Momo and Thrustmaster Enzo wheels I have used. The wheel simply doesn't budge under load, whereas the other wheels you could flex the wheel up, down, and sideways while driving. Most of the buttons on the controller can be mapped in the PC, but not all. More than enough though.The force feedback is forceful, but really, REALLY precise. There is a lovely deadzone right at the middle that just smooths in to progressive feedback, and there is no sudden feedback area, it's just so smooth. I can't say enough about the force feedback; simply awesome, very much like driving a real car at speed. The amount of data sent through the steering wheel is just awesome. You can trail brake going into corners, use the throttle to turn the car coming out, and it never feels unnatural or forced. It just feels fluid, and really gives you confidence to drive faster, find a better line, brake later, and get on the power sooner.For those reviewers who said the wheel has too much feedback? Go to the gym. If you're having problems turning in with this wheel, it's you, not the wheel. The pedals are the same as on the Momo, and while not world class, like on the G25, they do the job, and again have the retractable carpet tack system found as found on the Momo, which makes it completely immobile on carpet.So in conclusion, if you have the older Driving Force Pro, sell it. Get this one instead; it's in a different league. The fact that you can use it on three different platforms is a huge plus in my book as well. I promise you won't be sorry, and will be grinning like an idiot for weeks to come.

I was surpassed by the fact it was also compatible for the PC as well, and that I don't have too clutter my fun-space with another wheel, and it says "PC compatible" on the box too. In fact it works with more games on the PC. You can also customize the the degrees of rotation, if 900° is too much to handle and you just want 400°, and you can even use the red dial. But you MUST download the latest drivers, for all of the button to work, here : [...]And you can use JoyToKey [...]if you want to assign functions, that can't be assigned to a game-pad, to any of the button, and even the dial.

This is a good wheel for the PC. Many current PC games come with default configurations for this wheel which is nice to see.The Logitech software that comes with the wheel will allow you to set the turn radius from 200-900 degrees, setting it to 200 can help it work with older titles. Newer racers like Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and Dirt3 work properly with the full 900 degrees.If the game has weak feedback you can boost wheel weight and force strength settings in the Logitech software(particularly useful for games that don't have their own settings).I am using this with a play seat and the wheel stays in place pretty well. The clamps work better than expected but if someone decides to down shift hard they may be able to slide this wheel out of place. Not a common problem, but I have seen it happen. Just instruct people not to try to pull it off the mount.

As a racing videogames fan, I've played all 6 Gran Turismo releases. The change from controller to wheel is unbelievable. I researched a lot, and my choices were the DFGT and the G25 (G27 today). Finally I chose the DFGT basically for the price, and I do not regret. Friends opted for the G27 and I recognize the better quality and the eventual more realistic manual transmission (you'll end up using the wheel paddles anyway), but the price premium does not pay off at the time of game playing. The DFGT is a los of fun and you'll certainly enjoy the driving games a lot.

If you are serious about racing or just want a more realistic feel when racing this is a perfect wheel. There are many wheels out there but for the price this is the best one IMO.For the price you cannot go wrong, this is a great wheel...not the best for something like dirt 3 but awesome on iRacing. If you want this for iRacing you will be amazed at the feedback you get :D

I've owned this steering wheel for about two months. Playing GT5 without a wheel of this caliber means you are not getting the full benefit of what the software has to offer. This wheels adds so much realism to the game that it's hard to describe unless you've used one. GT5 takes into account not only the weight of the car you're driving but the condition of the surface you are racing on. When you hit an object you feel it through this wheel. Racing over rough pavement, you feel that to. Driving a heavy stock car, you really feel it. And it those rare cases where your car gets airbourne, the steering effort drops to zero and you fell that you are airborne. The quality of this wheel is very, very good. It attaches to a table and once you tighten the knobs it stays in place. The base of the pedals has the ability to rotate a friction strip that will keep the pedals from moving if you place the base on a carpet. If you want to get the most out of your racing game, this is a great way to do it. Spend less on a steering wheel and you will probably miss out. And only spend more if you are a real, real serious racing buff.

This is a wonderful wheel for the price. Even though it is apparently designed for PS3 games like Gran Turismo, I use it to play Dirt 2 and GTR Evolution. Feedback is very realistic and fun. Its easy to setup, in this two and other PC games. This is my first feedback wheel, and I don`t really have anything to compare with, except an old Genius non-feedback wheel. The one thing I did'nt like about this wheel is it's a little noisy. The feedback mechanism has some kind of pinion/belt design that produces noise, but it's not very annoying in my opinion. It's a great wheel.

This device is just cool. It definitely gives compatible racing games an arcade feel, and the realism is actually pretty shocking the first time you use it (and doesn't wear off quickly, either). I remember being excited about feeling the gravel under my car with the dull rumble in my hands, and shoving cars aside as the wheel fought back. Definitely worth the purchase.

I've used this exclusively with GT5 and it works great. I've even built a custom mount for it (see pics). However there is one big problem. The sensor in the brake pedal has been screwed up since the first day. This happens during calibration. My work around is that during calibration I just hold in the brake pedal about a 1/4 of an inch. This allows it to work fine but for the money, I shouldn't have to do this.

this is great product with superb quality. i love it. It makes GT more interesting. i am yet to try it with other racing games.

Recently, I wanted to get into some racing simulators. They looked fun, but after hearing about how racing games now allow for force feedback, I decided that I needed a wheel. This is the most recommended "cheap" one. I didn't know what to expect from the wheel, but when I got it in the mail, I realized that it was anything but cheap, at least in feel. I expected cheap plastic and a device that might break if you looked at it funny, but what I got was a device that was sturdy and durable.There are very few downsides to the wheel. Two, actually. Firstly is the pedals. They have very little resistance. However, I found that if you use them without shoes, they are are good enough for the job. I wouldn't go out to get a more expensive set. The second flaw is the noise of the wheel. It is pretty quiet, but you can still hear it clearly. I would advise playing with headphones. This would block out all of the sound, at least it did with my headphones.Pros:Durable. Feels like it will last a while.Does everything you want from it.Cons:Noise could be annoying if you use speakers.petals have very little resistance and feel a little flimsy.

I've been playing Gran Turismo since GT1 and have always used a controller. So...3 days after getting GT5, I decided I needed a wheel. And I wanted a Logitec. After comparing several other wheels I bought this one and have never been more pleased. Took about 3 races to get it where I wanted it but what a difference. Good quality product, easy "assembly" (3 wires to plug in) and total fun. The force feed back is absolutely amazing (try the Chamonix rally course or find out the the Nurburing is NOT a smooth road surface)). And I can actually take curves as curves and not segments of an arc. The foor pedals stay in place with a small amount of lifting during really intense brake stomping courses but not enough to matter. I had to build a small mounting platform to clamp to my coffee table to get the wheel at the right height and driving position but that's a personal problem and not a fault of the wheel. I got tired of the TV tray coming off the floor on really hard turns. After that, no problems. My (minor) complaint was no documentation explaining how to get full use from some of the features. Overall...I am completely satisfied with this wheel. For me, it's just right. If you wnat a good quality mid-price range racing wheel, this is the one to get.

The wheel itself was brought out for games like Grand Turismo for the PS3. While the driving aspect of the game with the wheel is amazingly cool, many other parts of the game (such as menu setup, etc) fail in comparison to similar games like the Forza series for the XboX. However, this is a racing wheel review and not a game review.The wheel itself is amazing. It's not like former wheels where it's a free-rolling controller connected to your system. This is a serious gaming wheel. It reacts to the car you're driving-- and yes, some cars are difficult to control!! The foot pedals are amazing as well. My wheel is mounted on a black plastic TV tray (from WalMart)so when seated on the couch, the wheel is almost at a normal height and the pedals are down below. It has completely reaslistic control and really makes virtual cars come alive!The wheel can also be plugged into a PC to be used for other games, although it is so far incompatible with the Wii and XboX systems (unless I'm doing something wrong-- I doubt I am). A word of caution-- the wheel does not work well when disconnected from the foot pedals.It's a little pricey, but really worth the fun!

this racing wheel out performed any racing wheel i have used to date and i have been racing and using racing wheels since the original gran turismo came out. the feedback on this wheel is excellent, the vibration really makes you "feel" the road beneath you, the wheell realisticly fights you at every turn really making it feel like you are turning the car and not the game. all of the controls are responsive. for the first few uses you may feel like your gonna break it but i assure you, you will not its really well made and ive even dropped it a few times on accident and it still works like brand new. this wheel really shines when playing gran turismo 5, but i have used in a few other racing games and it still performs well.
