Very challenging but really adds to the racing experience. well built product, should last for years of play. product needs to have a stable base to work properly.

When I got my copy of Gran Turismo 5, I immediately thought of buying a steering wheel. I did a little bit of research and found out that the Logitech Driving Force GT was the best bang for your buck. If you want a steering wheel but can't afford a Logitech g25, than this wheel is for you. This wheel is very well built and the force feedback is strong. The wheel feels great in your hands but the shifter could have been a little better. I wish the shifter gave a little more resistance but it's fine with me. The pedals are good and they are comfortable under your feet. You wont finish a race with sore feet. When you plug this wheel into your Ps3/PC, it immediately starts to calibrate so you'll need to just let go of the wheel and let it do it's business. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and if I had the money, I would buy another one as a gift for somebody else. The only con is that like all steering wheels, you need to clamp it on to something as the steering wheel will jump out of your lap and hit you in the nuts. I recommend you either find a table or go out and buy some kind of steering wheel stand if you want to have kids.

This wheel definitely enhances your game. I use it with GT5 and Formula 1 2010, and once you get a grip on it you begin to reduce your lap times. I did more than 3 seconds less in Spa. In GT5 you gotta have this wheel, 'cause if you don't you're missing something. It puts right into the game.In some games the force feedback is reaaaally tough (I. E. the rally games).In the back of the wheel you have two buttons (not paddles, buttons!) to change the gears like in F1 style, and some rally cars too. They're not too confortable nor realistic but you get used to them.The major flaw of this one is that you don't get any pressure from the pedals when you break, like in a real car so that doesn't gives an idea of how much you're breaking (if you're breaking too much or too little).The other thing is that you definitely need a secure base or a stand for this, one that doesn't moves, because there are corners where you really need to fight with the wheel to get right lane.

My wife bought this for me for Christmas for Gran Turismo 5. The force feedback is strong with this one. No pun intended. It feels like it will try to pull you the opposite way then the way you are trying to go. I like the fact I can use this on my ps3 and it comes with the software to use it on my pc. The pedals have a tacky type feature on the bottom that you can use to prevent it from sliding on the carpet. It has the shifting lever kind of like a slap stick. It also has buttons on the back of the wheel that you can use to shift as well. The gas and break pedals could use some more tension and that is easily fixed with a couple short bungee cords. It has built in clamps, while they are plastic clamps they work well to hold in on any surface. I would not recommend mounting it on glass though as the force feedback could possibly break the glass. Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who asked. If you do not want to spend a ton of money on a steering wheel for your ps3/pc this one is the perfect choice in the mid-range price.

I have proved every racing game, simulation or arcade and they all work excellent with this Wheel. It has strong feedback when you are turning on a curve or when you crash to a wall or car. you can adjust everything on the go with some buttons. The best games to get the most out of it are Gran turismo 5 and Need for speed: Shift. It worked excellent in my Playstation 3

The wheel is terrific. Good feed back on games like GT5. Doesn't work on Dirt 2. Pedals are not built well though. The first set of pedals started going bad within 10 hours of use. The accelerator pedal would not register full throttle. So I was able to get another set, and now the brake pedal doesn't always fully release the brakes. I physically have to lift the brake pedal with the side of my foot that last 32nd of an inch occasionally. It doesn't happen all the time but it is still frustrating.

This wheel is GREAT love it. totally worth a 130$. Its just awesome cant describe it.This is my first wheel I am personally a COD fan but I got racing game recently and decided to buy a wheel and made the right choice by buying this one.No regrets. I just purchased this steering wheel and I was impressed when opened the box. The wheel seems well built and sturdy. The shifter wasn't as bad as other reviews made it out to be. Yes it is a slap type shifter but it works well. As far as steering goes on GT5 it's night and day compared to the controller. You can turn so much tighter and hit the corners with a lot more speed with the Steering wheel. I feel it makes the game that much more realistic and I wouldn't want to play this game without it. I am still getting used to the steering wheel as I am constantly spinning out and crashing. This is the most realistic driving simulation that I have seen thus far. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys racing games and realism.

99 dollars for a wheel that I could only find locally for 160 before tax. That was really good news to me. Came in factory box, no damage, and packaged well. I've been using it for GT5 pretty much every day and it has really helped my lap times. I don't use the cheezy ball shifter because that just feels flimsy and makes me take my hand off the wheel. I just use the paddle shifters, which aren't even paddles on this wheel more like lever type buttons built into the arms of the wheel itself. Which is to say it isn't like real paddle shifters. Doesn't give you any option on where to place your hands when driving. And on hard turns it is possible to miss a shift due to having to move your hands because of the 900 degree turn radius of the wheel. Other than that it has been perfect. Great feedback response and all the buttons you'll need to navigate through GT5 or any other PS3 driving game.This is also the official GT5 GT Academy wheel. This is the same one that will be used if you make it into the top 32 at the live event. So those using the G25 or G27 with clutch and shifter will have to adjust if they make it that far.

I have purchased Logitech driving force GT racing wheel, it is nice product and enjoying the function, but it arrived as the PS key dead. Seems poor QA control. Since I received it in Japan, I don't know what to do. Appreciate if Amazon could to do something for this failure (dead on arrive problem).

I received this wheel as a birthday gift from my wife (yeah, she is the perfect wife, lol) with Dirt 3. It is awesome, you really feel as be driving a real car, obviously you are sitting in your couch and you will not feel the wind, but when I was driving, I was so involved in the game that when I crashed against other vehicle, I felt that the wheel should've flown over the room.

This is a awesome steering wheel for the price. It's not some 300 dollar g27 steering wheel, but for under a 100 dollars provides great durability, fun, handleing, and overall great experiance.

I am writing this review for my girlfriend, who bought this wheel for me for xmas. I am 35 and have wanted a racing wheel ever since i played that crappy racing game on my Intellevision 25 years ago. When GT5 finally came out on PS3 i knew it was time. My special lady saw the gleam in my eye and ordered the Logitech Driving Force Wheel for me because she is the most awesome chick in the world.So is the wheel worth the price? Yes, holy moses, yes. It adds a whole new dimension to racing and if I had to give up the wheel I would probably never play another racing game again. The force feedback is surprisingly realistic and the pedals really help too.The only catch is that you really do need to rig something up to mount the wheel to. The pedals have a pop out bar with barbs on it so it won't slide on carpet and that works well. My lady friend found a perfect wooden TV table at goodwill and that works great for clamping the wheel to. Now I am all set and I am raking in the winnings. See you on the podium!

Was kinda hesitant to buy this. after long hours of review and contemplating, i decided to just get it. so far it is very realistic and am loving the feel. also like the manual shifting. it makes it so much easier to pass cars in gt5.

I give it 3 starts because it makes GT5 a lot better but I was surprised when I setup the wheel to the PS3 to find this is not much better than the wheels of the 90's. It does not offer a true to life feeling in my opinion. The pedals are terrible in that they have little resistance. In GT5 I'm very disappointed in the fact that when I press the gas pedal coming out of the corner a 516 HP car doesn't react until I've cleared the corner completely. It just isn't realistic which puts this wheel in the same class as the ones from the 90's to me.I know the developers and engineers can make the hardware/software realistic. When I go to the go-cart track I use their simulators and they are very realistic. I know the wheel is cheap but I don't think there is even a close stab at acceleration and steering experienced in the real world.

This racing wheel is fantastic. Its so responsive and lifelike that I think it may actually make me a better driver. plus, it looks pretty awesome and plays wonderfully with gt5 prologue.

This is a great wheel... Considering most cars are sequential shift anyway, there is no need to spend more money on the g27. I have logged hundreds of hours with this wheel now and am totally satisfied. You literally feel every bump in the road and that terrible feeling you are about to lose control of the car. This is a must have if you are into racing games at all. I use the wheel for F1 2010, Grid, rfactor and Iracing with no problems what so ever. Each game will take a little adjustment to the force feedback feature, but only for personal preference.

Updating my review. My previous review (see below)was about a defective wheel that I bought but I contacted Logitech and I am impressed with their excellent customer service. I told them about the problem and 5 days after I received a brand new wheel in my house (and I live in Brazil).The new wheel works very well with GT 5 and NFS Hot Pursuit. Great product and great customer service!--- Previous review - Defective wheelI am very disappointed with this wheel. I connected it in my PS3 and for the first 10 or so minutes it worked very well. Then I turned off the PS3 and later in the same day I tried to use it again and it is dead! Already tested the power supply and it is working fine.Tried to turn everything on and off again and nothing. Tried on my PC and nothing.US$ 150 for 10 minutes of use, the worst buy that I ever made.

Bought this just to play GT5 and ultimately it was an okay decision. At the sale price of 120 dollars it was still an expensive buy for a video game acessory, however this makes a game like GT5 enjoyable. If I had to play GT5 with a controller, I would have probably sold it within a month. This makes it feel more like an old-time arcade driving set-up. The drawbacks are the noise while steering, the weak/plastic pedals that have very little resistance, and the clicky gear shifter. The positives are the good look to the wheel portion (which is very sturdy) of the unit and the compatability to GT5. I'm giving this product 3 stars because as an assessory it's just average but it's great fun for driving games that would otherwise be boring.

Pros: Good Feedback, Good Responsiveness, On The Fly Setting are amazing in Gran Turismo, Sequential Shifters on the Wheel are responsive and easy to use, Responsive Pedals.Cons: Can't adjust wheel for F1 style racing, Plastic Pedals, No Clutch.Overall this in an excellent entry level wheel for racing, Syncs and works with Gran Turismo 5 and Dirt 3 very well.

It's everything that Logitech advertised; however, if you do not have a desk or a nice rig for it, this thing is pretty much useless. In other words, for you casual gamers, unless you are pretty handy and can build yourself a rig/support, get ready to dish out another $300 for a racing chair.

I got this wheel and it's defective, though it's described as 'like new' when I placed the order. However volcanic deal quickly addressed this issue and gave me full refund. So I rate '5 start', not for the product but for their great customer service.
