I replaced a four year old dell's burnt out hard drive with this, not sure whether I should have gone with this or the black. Turns out that this has been cranking out four years later, so if I were to do another replacement job, I would certainly use WD again.

I bought this for my ps3 slim mine was 120g i wanted a bigger memory when you buy this you should also buy 2.5" USB 2.0 SATA Hard Drive HDD Case Enclosure - Silverthats what i did you will need that to formatt the memory without it you wont be able to use the memory and its only about $6. first when you get it connect it into the hard drive case (the other thing i told you to buy) the go on the internet and type in tokiwa.qee.jp/EN/Fat32Formatter/ this will bring you to formatting softwore. download it and load it up ofter you finished you will see something that sais compuapps swissknife v3 click on it and it should open up now connect your hard case into the computer it should be under neath the words usb (make sure its it or you could format the computer) click on it and it should come up make sure on top were it sais file system it sais FAT32 or the ps3 wont load it up after you make sure click create. then disconect it go to you ps3 connect it onto the usb ports go to system settings (looks like a box) click on it then look for back up click on it then you will see the name of your hard drive click on it then it should start it will take about an hour or two then go to your computer click on start then click on my computer look for your hard drive(take a while) save the folder called ps3 then you put it inside and turn it on it will say it cant play this is what you do get a usb drive and make a folder called PS3 in capital letters then inside that folder make another folder called UPDATE then go download system software just type in google playstation system sofware most of the times its at the bottemdownload it then put it inside your folder called UPDATE then connect the usb driver in the ps3 the ps3 will tell you to connect the controller with a usb wire connect the controller then another page will come just press select and start at the same time it will make you wait then press it will tell you to contine hold select and start for 5 seconds after that it will restart and work (doning this will ears all memory) now get your old hard drive format it then pass the ps3 folder onto your old hard drive after that connect it onto your ps3 on you ps3 go to system setting go to back up click on restore then it will pass you old files back onto your ps3if this works for you please click on yes were it said if this was help full

Replacing a hard drive on an older laptop that had been dropped.It didn't appear to work so I had assumed it was because of other damage, but later I placed the same drive into and external case to use it as an external drive and it was still not working.

I used this as an upgrade for my xbox 360 and it worked out very well. Flashed it and it now sits in my 360 as a 320 drive

It works! It is still in the machine for which it was purchased, a Toshiba laptop. The original drive failed at 14 months, just out of warranty. This one is still working fine.

My 60GB fat PS3 recently came back from the Sony repair center...with the HD wiped clean! So, I decided to make the best of a bad situation and replace the original HD with the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500 GB HD.I didn't have to bother with backing up my old HD and partitioning the new HD because I was just doing a straight swap. Consequently, the replacement process hardly took any time at all. Here's the complete sequence:*Open the HD bay door on the PS3.*Remove the blue screw.*Unseat and pull out the HD carrier.*Remove the four screws that secure the old HD to the carrier frame (make sure you have the proper screwdriver for this, it is very easy to strip the screws)*Replace the old HD with the new HD in the carrier frame (try to handle the new HD as little as possible, especially the exposed circuit board on the bottom).*Reinstall the four carrier frame screws.*Reinsert the carrier into the PS3.*Reinstall the blue screw.*Close the HD bay door.That's it. On power up, the PS3 immediately recognized the new HD and asked to format it. Total time spent on installation and formatting: about 10 minutes. If you're paranoid or want step-by-step instructions, I've put a hyperlink to a good guide in the comments section of this review.I haven't had any problems with the Scorpio Blue in the month or so I've been using it. The drive is quiet and doesn't seem to have changed anything in the way the PS3 operates. All my games play exactly the way they did before. Further, I hope that my system will run a bit cooler because the HD will be less fragmented and can seek/read/write more efficiently.All in all, the Scorpio Blue 500 GB HD has been a fine upgrade for my PS3 (so far). It's great having a boatload of storage for my PS3! I purchased this Western Digital hard drive to replace the failed drive in my Dell 1535 laptop. It matched up with the specs for my computer and everything was fine until one day the drive failed. This was less than 2 months after I had purchased the drive. I purchased it because of the Western Digital name, but I will not buy another Western Digital drive again as it was not cost effective or useful.

This hard drive is enough for your nettop because is cheap, a lot of space and an affordable price, just you could set your OS and leave some torrent task and forget until the task is finally downloaded.Thanks.

I brought this hard drive for my Lenovo Thinkpad T61 system and used this system very rarely.A month ago the hard drive failed and I have tried all the options to restore it, but no success.Planning to return it.

This installed easily and then installing the operating system (windows 7) was also super easy. My laptop was really crappy before and then crashed about a month ago. Replacing the hard drive and giving it a new hard drive has made it like a new computer.

not a lot to say about it. the price was good, and it fits perfectly, no issues there. i used it in my PS3, happy with this purchase. arrived quick because it was amazon prime. would buy again.
