I bought this hard drive to replace the (tiny) 40 GB drive in the PS3. The swap took about 10 minutes, and was very easy. Once I'd installed the new WD drive and booted up the PS3, it instantly recognized and formatted the new drive.After copying over the backup I'd created earlier on an external USB drive, I was up and running.

This is a great hdd for the price and amount of gb you get. Remember you dont get exactly 320gb you get around 270gb. intstallation was easy.

I exchanged an old Hitachi 80 GB in my lenovo N100 laptop. This new disk makes my laptop run faster and it is very quiet. I migrated the disk in 1 hour using the Apricorn EZ upgrade external case. Look at my review of the Apricorn EX Upgrade for more details about the migrationRecommended

This HDD is so awesome, quiet, and fast!! I have it in an external case and use it for a backup drive. Great Great product!!! (p.s. does not come formatted)~ I downloaded formatting program straight from WD site and it worked flawlessly.

I bought this drive primarily for the increased capacity. However, I was very surprised to discover how quiet it runs. I no longer here the usual "ticking" sounds associated with hard drive activity. I can highly recommend this drive.

I bought this hard drive for my windows laptop and so far it has been excellent. All the specs are the same as my replaced Hitachi drive except the capacity of course, so the performance is the same as far as i can tell. The only downside that I've noticed about this drive is that when its under a heavy workload, such as resource-hog games, it get VERY hot. Usually, it gets around 58*C.Even though there are flaws, I have to give it a five star because for the price, they are all well-worth it. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this to upgrade my 60 GB PS3. It seems to work perfectly. It was preformatted as FAT32 file system, so there was no need to format the drive for a PS3. I have not had it too long, so I cannot say for sure the longevity of the product.

Nice piece of hardware. I replaced the orignal Fujitsu 100GB drive in my Lenovo Thinkpad. I purchased the laptop just as Windows Vista came out and it had been running fine, I was running out of space and the performance specifications of the Scropio 320 GB 5200 RPM drive looked enticing. The upgrade improved my battery life by 20 - 30 minutes and its Vista experience rating from 2.8 to 3.1.I have been very pleased with the performance and durability of Western Digital Products and expect the same longevity from this device.

I put this hard drive in my PS3 And it worked great.Console pick it right up.But remember to back up old hard drive on a USB device.I used a 8GB Memory stick.Highly recomended for play station 3 consoles.......

The most current reviews on upgrading the PS3, people are installing a 320gb hard drive or smaller. To each is own but why not go for the 500gb? I've purchase the WD Western Digital Wd5000bevt Hdd Mob 500gb 5400rpm Sata, and I've had no problems. Granted, I didn't purchase this hard on Amazon but it's definitely a great buy. If you are upgrading your PS3 hard drive, make sure you follow your manual to the T!! Enjoy!!

I used this drive as a replacement for the 40 gigabyte drive that came with my PlayStation3.Installation was easy. Once I allowed the PS3 to download and install its operating system, all was fine. The drive is just as quiet as the drive that I replaced.Now, I have plenty of space for storing photos, games, music and videos.

This works great in my PS3, fast access, lots of storage, my games run faster and better, and it was easy to install. Be careful though the people at the Sony factory like to screw in the original hard drive TOO tight thus completley stripping out the "phillips slots" when you try to remove the screws so that you can't get the hard drive out of the caddy, however if this happens they will send you a new caddy free if you ask for one, I got mine about 3 days after I asked for it (the screws are included even the blue one).You will like this hard drive if you want to upgrade your PS3!

I purchased this drive to upgrade my 80GB PS3. It installed easily and worked with no problems. After the upgrade, I had about 290GB of space.If you are doing a PS3 upgrade, be sure to backup your programs and settings to a USB hard drive with the PS3's backup utility. After I did the restore, my PS3 had all of its content back with no glitches.

As others here, I upgraded my PS3 with this excellent drive. Couldn't have been easier to install. Before I upgraded, I backed up the old drive, slapped this baby in and restored. Now everything is exactly how it was except I have tons of space left to load HD videos taken with my Sony HD VideoCam. I don't even need a Blu-Ray burner. I just view my videos directly from the PS3 hard drive. Highly recommended for PS3 owners!

I'm no computer guru, but I easily replaced the original hard drive in my PlayStation 3 with this nice little piece of hardware that should have more memory space than I'll ever need. I occasionally receive a "hard drive not found" message when I fire up the Playstation, but I don't know if that is a hard drive issue or a Playstation issue. Either way, a quick reboot has fixed it every time.

I bought this for my PS3 to upgrade the hard drive and it worked like a charm. I am not an electronic geek so i don't know about how well it preforms all i know was it had to be a SATA 2.5 inch and speed of 5400 and this matched the description so i bought if for a very fair price since its a little outdated but other then that no problems with my PS3 hard drive and if you register you product with them they give you a coupon to upgrade if ya like!! All and all shipping was on time and in condition described! :)

i installed this hard drive onto my new laptop which already has 320gb of storage. i've essentially doubled my storage. no issues with the drive at all, works like a charm and it also has a temp sensor on it - some drives dont. so when u use some sort of temp monitoring software, this hd reports it's temps. useful to know.i now have 640GB of storage on my laptop! nothing exceeds like excess!

Works Great in the PS3.Installation was Easy.For those of you stuck at 30Gig on your Backup Drive due to Windows Fat32 Limitation. I used a Utility called Swiss Knife that you can find on CNet website or Download.com website. It allowed me to Format my Drive larger than 30 Gig so I could Backup my 60 Gig Drive.Granted if you do not have an external USB Harddrive available you can backup your gamesaves to a USB thumb drive and then you have to re-download all your stuff from the PSN Store from the Downloads Link.All of your Games have to re-update as well. Not too big of a hassle...Now I have a TON of room left. I think I'll copy my whole CD Library to my nice big Hard Drive...

The other reviews I've read indicated this hard drive was very quite. However, I can't confirm this since the Fujitsu I replaced was just as quite and I have no other 2.5 hard drives to compare it to. It's been two weeks since I've been using it and no failure. It runs equally hot as the Fujitsu so I don't think it's more energy efficient.I have very good luck with different manufacturers, types and sizes so I guess I would recommend buying this.

I upgraded my PS3 drive from 40 GB to 320 GB. Now I am using my PS3 to store all my family media including animations for my daughter. No problems so far and can't get a better price than Amazon (most of the times)

I have been thinking of updating my HDD on my PS3 ever since I got it last November. I bought this drive about a month ago, the install was VERY painless (you can look up how to change the HDD in your PS3 in your manual, playstation website or even one of the video's out there on youtube.) Never had a problem with the drive itself and everything is running great! Should never have to update the HDD again!

I bought this product after reading all the reviews on amazon. I always read the full reviews and then buy producti on amazon. I attached it, format it and Installed Vista. It is working fine and silently. One of the aspect of this HD I like is. I enabled AHCI mode on vista, Installed Intel Matrix storage manager. I got noticeble difference in performace. It increased by 20% or more. I like this change. Before that I had Fujitsu (Defause HD with Inspiron 1520). but there was no performence improvement in that HD with AHCI. I would strongly recommand this product.

I originally bought a 60 gig PS3 so it wasn't too long before game installs, music, videos and down-loadable content filled it. This hard drive is the exact same type as one that comes with a PS3 but the drastically bigger memory more than justifies the price. It is easy to install and format so it is well worth the investment for those with pathetically small hard drives if you have enough for the upgrade.

I bought this just for my PS3. I originally had a 40gb model and this new hard drive works wonders. After installing it and formatting the new hdd, you are left with approximately 263 GB of space. I read somewhere online that the PS3 counts "space" a little differently so you can actually put around 280 GB of info on this hdd, but still anything over 250 GB is a LOT of space.And as far as speed is concerned, I've noticed certain things load a little quicker. I'm not sure if the hdd has anything to do with that, but I've only got 160 GB of space left and my PS3 is still fast as lightning when it comes to loading and pulling up pics and vids.

Unfortunately, even though my documentation said I had a SATA drive, once I opened the cover I found a PATA drive.So now this drive resides in a StarTech enclosure and I use it as a portable USB drive -- it works great. Initial setup of the drive required Data Lifeguard -- a free download from the WD website.

I bought the WD Scorpio 320G to upgrade my original 60G PS3 because I kept running out of space. Install was easy and I have lots of free space now.My only slight complaint is that, of the 298G formatted capacity, I only have 217G left after restoring the data from my 60G drive. Why did it take 80G to restore my 60G drive? Where did the other 20G go?Anyway, I'm happy with the product and would definately reccomend it.

Like so many others, I puchased this drive as an upgrade from 60GB HD in my Playstation 3. The drive performs perfectly, no noise, no issues. It has handled everything I have thrown at it, movie downloads, music, and games. This HD is a great choice for Playstation 3 owners and is a great price.

I ordered this after I dropped my laptop and broke my hard drive. Best Buy and Circuit City wanted like $360 to fix it, so I decided to buy one. This hard drive was at a good value and 320GB is a lot of space. Also it arrived about 2 days earlier than expected. And it works just fine, actually i think my laptop is actually faster now after this hard drive, but maybe its just because my old hard drive was a 120GB. Overall everything was great!!!
