I connect pjd5134 using my laptop. It works really great. I am able to watch movies with lights on without much compromise on quality.The only drawback i found is that you need to have a large room to get bigger image.

This is a really nice projector for the price. We use it for our daily scrums (software development thing) and project a web tool on a wall about 12' away in a lit room. Overall size of the picture is probably 8' square at that distance and it is quite bright in the room. We do not run at native resolution, usually up towards the 1280xSomething range, and the text is relatively sharp and readable even though the native resolution is SVGA. When researching projectors, they seemed to be segmented into three price ranges and this projector was the cheapest of the middle tier price range. I think this projector is a good value at the price.

This is a great projector, it gets the job done

The location was a little dificult in my house, I wanted to place it and forget about it, where I didn't have to move it, far from my kids or pets.

The ceiling is a little to tall and the angle was not the best I could get

At the end, I managed to put it and get a 3 mts picture, on a flat wall. I believe I would get a picture a little better looking with a screen, but for now, I'm fine with the image

Also, I was surprised how loud the little speaker works. It's obviously not surround sound, but it works fine if you are watching basic cable or TV programming.

It looks decent enough on daylight and at night it looks just fine.

The image from a good source like a Blu ray is amazing and it just rocks on 3d. Avatar, Finding Nemo and Life of PI pop out of the wall.

Definitevely, I would recommend this product

I use it for classroom presentations and it's a knockout. What a great projector. Excellent colors and brightness. I don't even dim the lights. I hook it to a laptop and use 1024x768 setting even though it says 800x600 will give better results. Not true. I know it's only svga, but as a presentation projector, it's hard to beat for that price. Setup was a snap and it's awesome. Would not consider it for home theater use if your a real videophile, but for presentations, it's hard to beat for the buck.

Великолепно

I've had this projector for over eight months now and I absolutely love it. I project on to my white dry wall and it works perfect despite the texture on the wall. I have people over for Fight Nights and Movie Screenings all the time and don't know why it took me so long to start watching TV/Movies like this. Amazing price. Highly recommend.

the viewsonic projectors were heavy with 5 star rating so I bought. The first one didn't work with the HDMI. the box was crushed in when I got it although there appeared to be no damage to the projector. I sent it back. The second one worked one time with the HDMI port then stopped. Done. The picture was OK but having a big clear screen was problematic. You can use a sheet or wall but if the texture is less than smooth it make a big difference in the picture quality. The sound port is useless. Funny none of the "5 star" ratings ever mention it. You must use your DVDs port and go through a stereo or you can use the projector port but you better have a 500 watt receiver to push what comes out of the projector. I believe the ratings on this have been compromised. Too much specific tech ratings from "regular" people but never anything bad? If it is so great why does the price keep dropping? It feels like it is being managed or pumped up consciously and when sales start to drop you reduce the price. Pump and dump.

I purchased the projector six months ago for use in my classroom. Good clear picture, but when used for an extended period of time it shuts off and take a while to turn back on. Overall good projector.

the projector works perfectly, I havent taken it the full distance that it can go but it is very clear and crisp and allows you to adjust as necessary, cheap way of getting a massive tv, also bought with 120 inch projector screen. less room taken up as would be with massive tv and can be moved easily and attaches to laptop simply to show screen

This is the first projector I have owned. I love it. It is decently clear in a well lit room and amazingly clear in a dark room. IMO it is a much better option than a large TV. The worst issue I have had is finding cables that are long enough locally for a reasonable cost. Do yourself a favor and order your cables (and mount) at the same time you order the projector and you won't be disappointed!

Good for the price, a little dim in daylight perhaps. HDMI input made this great for streaming players like Roku. One caveat: audio is mono so you need an HDMI -> audio output box adding $50 if you use it for Roku or the like and want stereo or surround.

Glad I went home for lunch! This showed up today and I had it set up in 10 minutes. Via a HMDI from my Iphone i was broadcasting 120" music videos onto my wall for a clear picture during the day. Can't wait till I get home tonight! Can't promise the wife is going to like it - but I love it!

i live in a small house and even a clear white wall is a good screen for this. The speaker is a drag but everything else is excellent. Just buy a good speaker system and its worth the 400 usd unless a new model comes out. First shipment I had got lost in USPS, and amazon took the tab for it. Thats one thing I love about amazon prime.

Using for home movie projection. it is in a room that is approximately 20'. The image is clear, and brightness is good, even during the daytime with a bay window and translucent shades. I do not experience any 'rainbow' except when I move my eyes quickly. Setup was extremely easy, and there are enough options on the projector to make it easy to configure to exactly what you need. The projector is not loud, and is easily ignored, even when sitting right next to it. The front stand leaves a little to be desired, but no major issues. Remote control works fine. A good buy for the money.

Very easy to use, has a few drawbacks. Very good clarity for the price in dark room, but not very bright in a lit environment. Also no volume control on the unit itself. Only on the remote. Overall pretty good unit.

This was a gift for my father and he seems to enjoy it. The only thing that I am not crazy about is the little pixel square projections that make up the entire image but that's probably me being too picky. Will update if anything changes. Started using device January first 2013.

I was very excited about adding this projector to my outside bar area and the first unit failed out of the box. I tried on several occasions to call Viewsonic tech support and to say the least it was below par for such a well know company. I even took the unit to a service center and they mentioned Viewsonic would have to approve the repair. This was the last straw and I called Amazon directly and they went far and above to make things right. This speaks highly of Amazon as the customer is more important then the cost of the unit itself. I had a replacement unit which worked fine out of the box.

Word of advice this is not a 3D unit on the friendly side. I would not purchase this unit for 3D applications.

Used outside for football games and movies. Works like a charm and the color quality and picture in HD is fabulous! For the price and quality for the way I want to use it on a minimal basis 5 star across the board. It can only be used in a dark setting, obviously, but as a once or twice a month portable way to watch the big games on a big screen with a sinle hdmi and power hook up, would buy this again in a second.

Great little box, does everything I need and expected, its bright - shows good enough outdoors on a cloudy day - it has digital key stone correction (not just tilting an inside mirror or something like other projectors I had, causing dis-focus on bottom or top of screen), zoom in and out, don't have to have the certain distance for certain screen size, all the in and outs I can ever use, and all that for an affordable sum - I'm happy!

I cannot say anything bad about this projector. The 3d is flawless, it has an hdmi port for all my devices, and it is cheap!!!! I seriously cannot tell the difference in quality between this one and a high end projector. The only thing I would say is if you have multiple devices also get an hdmi switch with 3d support. I frwaking love this thing.

You cannot do better than this for the money. I have a REALLY sharp, bright 55 in tv and computer monitor for under 300 dollars. One year guarantee on the bulb, 3 on the machine. DLP by Texas Instruments. You can`t beat it. NO other manufacturer even comes close. Dust free, filter free, blow it out once in a while. If you can find a better one for the money, buy it. But you won`t.

I needed a 3D ready projector but did not want to pay an arm and a leg. I was surprised at how light the unit was and still able to offer such quality beam. I mounted it with my VideoSecu bracket and it's running great. The 800x600 resolution was a compromise on the cost but I did a prez with some PPT decks and nobody complained. I would get an official mount bracket for this in retrospect because I had to do a lot of fiddling around to fit a 4 point frame into a triangular base, oh well.

Not as heavy as some I've seen ! I'm going on a year with mine. I do two 6-hour classes a month and it's still going strong with original bulb. I've yet to try the 3-D feature, but I'll edit my review once I do.

We LOVE this product! We wanted something fun and different for our newly finished basement. Great picture on a painted wall with just primer--however we are buying a gallon of "Paint on Screen" just to make it that much better. We just bought a 3D ready Blue Ray player, and plan to get the active 3D glasses just to have on hand. Streamed movies/TV look great. We weren't sure we could do a projector when we are so used to 4 large flatscreens in the house but we are very impressed for the price. GREAT PRODUCT!

I purchased this projector based on other reviews and because a rental would have cost me about the same, rental versus ownership was the more logical option. I used it without a projection screen on a large wall and it worked out perfectly. The HD quality is great. I am using it at home with a screen projector to watch DVDs. The focus is clear and of good quality. The only problem we have with this projector is sizing it to fit the 80' projection screen. The picture box isn't perfectly proportional. It isn't quite square or rectangle. One side is longer than the other. But, I am satisfied with the projector and hopefully will eventually figure out how best to size the picture. I do highly recommend the projector because it is reasonably priced and has a high definition picture.

I really like this projector over all for the price. But when it starts up now (8months old) it hums for about 5 mins, the cooling fan has something going on with it. I like the HD, and 3D ready possibilities.
