went to buy a pjd6221 then found out no hdmi means cant even use composite for 3d so was told to get this one, so glad i did, only had basic standard hdmi cables yet the 3d still worked, from a distance of 4 meters i got a 6 foot 5inch wide image projected on the screen, i used sainsonic shutter eye glasses, thought ok good 3d effects but when i thought i was about to get hit by an orange which came out the screen on imax 3d space station (iss) and the image stopped just inches before me i then realized that this is nothing like the red or yellow and blue 3d glasses stuff, this is the real deal, try RIPD on blue ray, beats Avitar any day for 3d effects, hooked this up via a HDMI lead to a cheap insignia 3d blu ray player with nothing else added, you don't need a emitter or any thing, the DLP glasses emitter thing i wasn't sure about as wasnt clear to a 3d novice as my self but it is built in to the projector and is fully automatic, the synching of my Sainsonic glasses (the cheapest ones on Amazon) well i did'nt need to synch, again this projector did that to, just switch on and go, the speakers ain't brilliant but are way better than people say, this unit stays surprisingley cool considering the bulb of over 200 watts, the remote is a nice easy to use unit too, i tried really hard to find something bad to say about the 5134 but there really is nothing bad about it, stunning quality all round.arrived in two days

An excellent projector. I love it so much. I love the picture, I love the weight, I love the speed. Everything is awesome. I bought it 4 weeks ago, and I put it on a tripod that was for a telescope. It worked perfectly. The picture is huge and the pixels are great ( full HD). If you want a cheap projector instead of an expensive one, I advice you with that. I used it for PlayStation 3 it works amazingly. I love playing god of war, or nfs most wanted. Go for it, it is five starts.

Bright, easy to use, good quality... mounted it on our ceiling with the "VideoSecu LCD/DLP Projector Ceiling Mount..." and it works perfectly for what we're doing.

I really like this projector. I put it on a wall shelf in my bedroom and watch TV shows and movies on it. The picture is really clear and crisp and way better than the projectors they use at my college. Setting it up is really easy, too. I don't have cable and run everything through a media server. The projector can be hooked up with an HDMI cord from the server itself, or you can use the Ethernet jack and run it off your network. You can also get a really big screen size without being far back.

The only downside is that it doesn't have good sound on its own, and you need to hook up your own speakers to it. I don't think this is a big deal, though. One thing I thought was cool is that it can reverse the image, so you can set the projector behind your screen and sit in front of the screen and see it clearly. All in all, I'm really happy with it!

​►Probably should have bought the XGA version of this DLP projector but, it's definitely 100x better than the DLP Projector (Epson EMP-TW10) I put into retirement ;-)

Great picture and very easy to see up. We connected it to an iPad and played movies with no problems. The speakers are bad, but we used the pc speakers and worked fine.

Bought this for mainly gaming and it's working great! Now I just need a surround sound to go with it and I'm set. Movies and other media looks great on it as well.

Great value for money, really bright image, just be careful if you are mounting on the ceiling as the distance to screen is important at zoomed out setting, there are no height width scaling controls on software only zoom the screen as well as zoom on the lens.. Can be used in daylight / overcast skies and is a faithful HD picture.

I don't write too many reviews...usually only if I'm really happy or really unhappy...ha!ha! My teen daughter decided she wants a movie party in the backyard for her upcoming birthday. I said, "I can make that happen!" I researched for about a week to try and find an affordable projector that would offer a quality experience...for more than just the birthday party. In the summer, I often complain that I don't want to go inside to watch our shows. So, on Thursday night, I decided to give this projector a chance. I placed the order and paid the few extra bucks (I think it was only about $8 or $9) to get Saturday delivery so I could play with this over the weekend and see if it was going to work out. The package arrived early Saturday afternoon!

Short answer...YES!

I had this machine all set up and projecting onto the side of our house within minutes! I started early evening, so there was still light. I was worried about needing a screen, but our house is a pale yellow and, even in the early evening light, the picture was PHENOMENAL! Way better than anticipated. I almost bought an overpriced screen at a local big box store, but then decided on a set of white light blocking curtains just to get the testing phase out of the way and see if the projector actually worked well before spending more money on accessories. I didn't even open the curtains. Didn't need to.

I purchased a separate Micro HDMI to HDMI cord and connected my Kindle Fire HD perfectly. I used an HDMI to HDMI cord on hand and connected my ROKU without any problems. The main issue was wifi coverage in the yard, but even that worked fine and we made it through a Netflix movie and a HuluPlus show with only a couple buffering moments.

The integrated speakers were good, but not great. They work fine, but, outside, they needed a bit more volume. I have not tested the unit indoors yet. I connected my mini battery powered Altec Lansing speaker and that did the trick! The extra boost was just enough and I even had to turn the volume down to around 6.

Really looking forward to getting some 3D glasses and trying out that feature!

DON'T HESITATE! If you are looking for an affordable way to make your summer better and be the most popular house on the block...do it!

Fantastic picture. handy short throw. Suffered from bad rainbow initially which had me worried but switching to dynamic movie mode reduced it and a few hours in the effect has completely gone. So I think its because the bulb needed burning in.

THIS PROJECTOR IS VERY CLEAR AND VERY VERY NICE I'VE HAD IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND MAN THIS THING WORKS GREAT I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE ....

Wonderful picture and easy to use. It was a gift for my husband and he was thrilled. It ended up being a gift for the whole family. We have had a few family movie nights in the backyard. Awesome!

Get what you pay for. Smaller picture than i wanted and not too crisp. Maybe good for a presentation, but not good enough for home theater.

Used it outdoors in the Summer evenings 10 times last year. Worked great with Carl's blackout cloth

The picture just on a while sheet is pretty impressive, so I can't wait to get a screen to see how much better it will be! The only downside is the audio is a bit lacking, you will need some sort of speakers to really enjoy this. Great product for the money!

Worked brilliantly for 7 months, but now image flickers in blue and green then shuts off. Lamp only has 2,000 hrs on it. No response from Viewsonic from email, viewsonic website recommended returning to dealer, but outside of Amazon return policy. Worthless now.

Arrived on time, picture quality is amazing for 800x600 native resolution. Very bright, very quiet. I would absolutely recommend this.

This is a really nice projector for the money. It is very bright and will display HD content well.

However, what I did not previously understand was the impact of the native 4:3 aspect ratio. Although you may view content in wide screen mode, the projector is simply displaying widescreen in the 4:3 "footprint". This affects the display by having an area above and below the image that is still "displaying", causing "black bars" (really just the equivalent of black being displayed from the projector, which is not complete blackness). This was a problem as we have a 16:9 screen that we are using. If you attempt to fill the entire screen, the projector is projecting "black" above and below the screen.

I did return the ViewSonic and purchased the Optoma H180X for $100 more (which has native 16:9). The ViewSonic is a great projector at an incredible price, just not what I needed.

Almost perfect for its prize. Very bright and works great under the bright condition. However there are two flaws: no horizontal keystone and rainbow effect when displaying videos.

Great projector, however, I have only had the chance to use it once. I bought it for a classroom setup and month later the school installed projectors so now I am most likely going to sell it. The one time I did use it the image quality was better than looking at something in a movie theater, obviously HD and so forth. I have an Amazon sellers account and may decide to list it, if so it is not an indication of not being satisfied with the product, as it is top quality, as is the case with all ViewSonic products, they just make great quality electronics.

Got this to play movies outside. First movie was "It's a Wonderful Life", a real Christmas classic and a family tradition to watch it every year. This projector performed flawlessly. Great picture and easy to set up .

Purchased this in case our son's birthday party rained out (along with projection cloth http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007KA07YM/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_52 ) and it was the best purchase ever. The party wasn't rained out, but having a cool place for the kids to relax inside and watch Lego Movie on a twelve foot screen was a huge hit. The picture quality is great - I am even considering using this for our Super Bowl party instead of the 55" 1080p flat screen!
