The picture quality is great. I have hooked it up to my Prism TV box, blue ray, DVD player, and laptop and it works great. We set it up in our driveway with the 120 inch Spandex screen and my grandkids come over along with some of the neighbor kids. The neighbors have suggested we have movie night on Friday nights and they'll supply the treats. We are already planning for Monday night football this fall for the adults. We plan on using this for Halloween and Christmas as part of our displays.

As a relatively broke college student $300 is alot to ask for something for leisure. That being said I bought this beacause of all of the positive reviews and its size. This projectors screen quality is beaytiful even shooting it on a white wall. I primarily use it for xbox 360 ps3 and movies. I would highly recommend this product looking for people who are thinking about getting a projector or are hesitant about a big purchase.

Excellent value. I used it for an all day seminar and had a super sharp picture.

Shockingly awesome projector. I have had this a few months now. VERY, VERY impressed by the picture quality. Just the same as any other home theater I have seen, yet a fraction of the cost! I did not need any extra cords as the cord it came with plugged right into my laptop and BAM the projection began. We Projected onto our light blue bedroom wall and it was wonderfully perfect, then again on our livingroom tan wall, still great quality. Felt like a movie theater, then we bought a white king basic cotton bedsheet and threw it up on a fence and projected it outside using the laptop and a dvd movie. My husband wanted to buy a screen so we did, but honestly, if you have white or light colored walls or a white bed sheet, you dont even need a screen. Now, we use our external, old computer speakers to the laptop as our speakers which sounds awesome but some people go all out on sound. Either way, this projector does what we wanted, I am just hoping the bulb last a long time. We are using it as our livingroom tv now.

This unit just blows my mind it alwsome for the price and quality of the picture but as most others say the built in speakers are bad but the projector its self is great I would buy again I just hooked up my headphone to the unit for gaming now I have a 12 foot wide game screen love it

Couldn't be happier! The colors are beautiful and vibrant. The picture comes in very clear. Very easy to set up and adjust.

I purchased this because we already have one at school and used it frequently during the whole school year trouble free. Very good image; vga and hdmi ports available.

I use this projector every day in my kids room. They watch movies and TV. Great picture even in day light the screen is visible. Great purchase

This projector is amazing, I needed it for my parents 30th anniversary slideshow and it was PERFECT!!!. I now use it to watch movies with the wife on friday nights! If you are looking for a strong bright projector this is it, great lumens rating and HDMI works great. One small note, the audio only works with the VGA cable not the HDMI. Granted you don't want to use the audio for movies but just a heads up.

If you're thinking about getting a tv, forget it.

I really dont have any cons except the glass that projects gets dust on it, but it's not a lot.

This is great, and people will be amazed when they see it. The quality of the screen is good and the response time(for gaming) is great. It runs smoothly connected to a computer or a ps4.

Pretty bright and works well for the price.

It syncs pretty slowly. Definitely a pain point if your resolution needs to switch. Takes like 20 seconds to find the resolution in the begininning. I have tried every trick to make this faster.

Well I got my pjd 5134 it works great it's my first projecter I put it in my room it's 9 by 12 it's about ten feet from my screen I bought a 100 inch homegear screen I allready got over a hundred hours on my lamp it works good good picture I got over 80 inches from ten feet away going to try the 3d next when I get the 3d player I'll make anther review

Awesome! Easy to use (if you're electronically inclined but not hard to figure out). The darker outside, naturally the better the picture. Really good quality. It's not the best photo but it shows the picture. I bought this based on a photograph someone else shared.

HOW I USE IT

I conduct numerous workshops, meetings and gatherings in the midst of my organization. I needed a light-weight, easy to use product that had good to excellent picture quality; and that was easily transportable.

HOW IT ARRIVED

The Projector arrived packaged in a standard box encased by Styrofoam, and wrapped in a typical protective covering. It shipped by UPS ground and arrived on schedule.

My First Use

When it arrived, I wanted to make sure the projector worked properly and had all the cables needed to power it up and connect to my PC. There are a number of thorough reviews here so I am going to focus specifically on my experience right out of the box.
I unpacked it, powered it up and connected it to my PC. Without having to do anything else -- accept adjust the height to meet my 80-in screen - I turned on my PC and was EXTREMELY surprised by the high, picture quality and vivid colors, even in a well lit room. After closing the blinds and turning off the lights, I was even more astounded -- especially given the price and my level of expectation. It was BEYOND my expectations.

I decided to test things out on my husband and kids. So, I logged into my Netflix account and begin playing the latest episode of Power Rangers. My son immediately thought that I had set this up "just for him" -- and wanted pop corn, and for me to leave the room so he could watch a movie. My husband began talking about movie night with the family, and I knew I had chosen well.

The biggest highlight for me, however, was that all I had to do was turn it on using the remote, turn on my PC and adjust the height. From setup to sitting down watch Power Rangers took about 13 minutes. The light didn't have to heat up and I didn't have to look at the initial instructions a single time.

I do, however, plan to become familiar with the functionality of the projector and learn to use the remote to make the best of my experiences. The other reviews on this site cover the "details" very well, so... I didn't think it was necessary to restate those things.

I am VERY SATISFIED with my purchase and experience. Great product and even better price.

We use this projector to show movies and make presentations at mission churches in Mexico. It is moved from location to location and used often. Easy to hook up and operate.

I use this thing on an orange peel wall with a light beige paint and it works pretty darn awesome. I have it set to project at like 10 feet wide and 6 feet tall. It looks pixled a bit if you sit too close, but I bet this would go away if I actually used a real screen to project onto instead of a semi rough wall. Very happy with it and I haven't even tried it at its fullest potential yet.

Got this to replace a Viewsonic PJ503 that died after the bulb hit 3000 hours. Decided to upgrade instead of buying another bulb - and paid a lot less than our previous one. Thought about getting a TV but we like the way a projector seems more like going to the movies. It has a very bright and vivid picture - we don't put a blanket over the windows any more. The bulb life should last a lot longer. It powers up and down a lot faster too. We are very happy with it.

Perfect bulb for my projector. It was a little tricky to put in though... next time I will probably opt for the version that is already mounted though.

Great projector for the money - bright enough for a room with windows, and very clear using the a DB25 computer connection with a RGB pigtail.

The only real downside - the zooming feature is basically non-existent and the throw is extremely long for a small projector. For my 132" screen I had to place the projector 17 feet back! For a 120" screen you have to place it 15'7" back. You have to calculate your screen size and mounting distance when using this projector. ViewSonic shouldn't even advertise that it has a zoom feature - it is basically a fixed throw with focus.

Overall - great picture and good value if you have the room for the throw distance.

Every time I see a Viewsonic device, I'm happy they still around. They used to be my go-to brand for CRT monitors, but I lost track of them when LCDs started coming into play. This is the first projector that I've gotten to use from them, and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed so far.

I've hooked up the projector to my Dell Precision M4800 which has a native resolution of 3200x1800 via HDMI. There was nothing to set up, simple plug-and-play. The native resolution on the projector was 1920x1080 via HDMI, and for a lark, I searched for random 4k videos on You Tube. I did this in the most unflattering circumstances I could think of - on a plain white, textured, drywall - right in the middle of a bright, Texas afternoon. The PJD5234L did impressively well even in this far from ideal environment. The unit was on the ground, about 8ft away from the wall, sitting on top of an old cardboard box. The colors and sharpness were all very impressive and viewable even in a well lit room. The darks suffered of course, but even they weren't too bad. Using the projector as a glorified monitor for Redditing or Facebooking wasn't bad either. The text was sharp and easily readable. Watching fast action sports videos looked sharp and there wasn't any glaring blurs or ghosting.

All-in-all, I'm impressed with this little projector.

for a 300 $ plus projector very good .. if your looking for 1080 or higher aint gonna happen .. But, 800 by 600 resolution is very clear and nice for price

After a few months, the screen started flickering. The projector was always mounted so it never got bumped into anything. I am pretty disapointed.
