This (and a screen) is my Television now. HDMI input produces a fantastic image. If the 6000 hour lamp life is anywhere near true this projector is a bargain.

• USED FOR:
Presentations/home theater.
I have a brand new non-profit, and that means I'm pitching my non-profit to anyone I can get to listen. This unit is perfect for me. I can toss it into its own padded Pelican case (with it's necessary cables/adaptors, etc.), and even have space to throw in an SLR camera for videotaping the presentation or taking stills if necessary.
The home theater aspect is really fun! I put together a home theater for my deck outside using PVC pipe, special bungee ties, and a screen from Carl's (Google/Amazon it). The screen is 5x9, is edged and gusseted. Beautiful image!
The unit does have running noise. Which unit doesn't? But seriously, if you can hear it running, you obviously don't have the movie volume where it needs to be to make it an authentic big screen experience. It runs 2 feet from my head, and I don't ever hear it. Some people I think just like to be snobby but pickers. :)
• WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN:
Yes. The image quality, self-cleaning aspect and ease of use (everything is easily labeled & color coded in the back) make it a snap to put together in just 5 minutes or less.

Super bright display even with room lights on. I'm in love with this projector, just what I needed for a great price. I'm a student teaching myself projection mapping in my spare time and this little baby did the trick!

I love this thing. My wife and I got it so we could ride stationary bikes and binge watch tv. We have already enjoyed hours of television while improving our fitness. This summer I am plan on taking it outside and watching movies projected into the garage.

Very easy to use and plugged in easily to both my iPad and my iPhone. Note you have to buy adapters, but I was able to get them at the Apple Store. Very clear picture.

This projector is a great buy! I used it in my garage to watch tv on the wall and it worked great. The quality of the picture is really nice for a projector and I would definitely recommend!

I've been a customer on Amazon for years; however, I never really write any reviews. This projector blew me away that I just had to write one. I originally bought this projector on an impulse buy. I was going into my last year of college without ever owning a television; however, for my last year of college I wanted to treat myself. After looking at several televisions and projectors I came across the ViewSonic PJD5134, and I decided to order it.
The package came fast with my Amazon Prime membership, and it was easy to set up. Take it out of the box and plug in a few wires, and you'll be ready to go. As for the projector itself, the picture quality is great. For around $330, you're getting great value for your purchase. I don't see any pixels despite the large picture and the picture quality is great. I have clocked already 500 hours of this baby, and I intend to use it even more. I bring it to my friends apartments, and I project it onto their large wall. It brings hours of fun, and I really do recommend this projector. For my apartment, I don't have a projector screen, and I just project on my wall. The picture quality is great, but I do suspect it'd be even greater if you're willing to splurge on a screen.
As a side note, like other reviewers have mentioned, you need to buy speakers for this projector. The integrated speakers don't cut it; however, you should be able to pick up a pair of decent speakers for $30-50 making this still a great value for anybody seeking a projector for everyday use or special occasions.

Just got this projector on monday dec 15 order it on friday fast shipping and i bought it because of the good reviews and i got to say for the price im impress i put it right to my wall its clear and bright i watch it on daytime and night time best one i own so far the only problem is the speakers aint that loud but the projector is so quiet you can hear the speakers no problem other than that the projector is perfect

Excellent projector for our outdoor movie nights. Easy to set up to our DVR player and some portable speakers. It has a bright projection so you don't have to wait until it's fully dark outside to watch a movie. We can start a movie at dusk.

Who needs a TV? This thing is great, and I'm anal about image quality. I use this on a 120 inch Elite Screen at a 15 foot throw distance. This projector really goes far for the money.

Great product for the price. Great picture as well. The speakers lack any sound. Nothing better than a speaker on a cell phone, but I knew this before buying it. Hooked it up to a sound bar and its great. I just use my wall currently and the picture is great. I have played Netflix, Cable and PS4 on it. Great buy for the price.

Glad I chose this projector. I spent a few months doing reading and research and am glad I settled on this model. I was initially searching in the 250-300 price range but am glad I dropped the extra 50 on this one. We purchased it for an outdoor theatre. So far we have had excellent quality on our 116" elite screen. We were even able to view with reasonable brightness 1-2 hours before dark. Picture quality is WAY sharper than I expected based on the reviews and the fact that we purchased a larger screen. I was able to view the fine print at the bottom of a commercial from about 24 feet away. We added extra speakers because the projector itself wasn't that loud, but from what I have read that is to be expected. If I were to make the purchase again I would definitely choose this one. Great quality at an even better price.

Great little projector! Though I wouldn't recommend relying on the built in speaker too much, turn it up too loud and it buzzes. Other than that the 3D on this thing is amazing. This is the first time I've experienced 3D and I am surprised at how it pops off the wall so well with a projector with this low of a price. Definitely recommend if looking for a projector on a budget.

I will admit, this is actually a pretty good projector. It's compact, easy to use, and is super bright. On the contrary, the red levels are lower (even when fully pushed), but they aren't really noticeable. I would recommend this projector for the low-budget consumer. If you have $350+, get an Epson. The colors and specs are always better than DLP projectors.

The clarity and brightness of this projector is amazing. I have it projecting at a 100" 16:9 screen, and it is crystal clear. Daylight doesn't bother it too much, and the room lights behind it do not bother it at all.

For a projector that is less than $500 this has a GREAT picture. It even looks decent in a fairly lit room. I have not gotten any 3D glasses yet. I am excited to get a pair and try a 3D movie on it.
