I use this router for about three weeks, it works flawlessly:- I can watch full HD movies on my wireless Samsung smart TV without any interruptions- It works on 300Mbps *IF* you are using a compatible client which can operate with 40MHz channel bandwidth (I got 16MB/s sustained transfer rate with the laptop)- It supports jumbo frames! (Latest official firmware or dd-wrt)- It can do approximately 130Mb on WAN to LAN - NAT&firewallJust some important advices:- If you are using WPA2, don`t use TKIP encription because will affect your speed with 30 to 50 %. Always use WPA2 with AES encryption (for any wireless router)- If possible, DON`T use mixed mode. If you want maximum speed, enable wireless N only, with 40MHz channel bandwidth. With mixed mode b,g,n and mixed clients you will never get maximum speed with a single-band router.- The official firmware is very good and user friendly, stick with it if you don`t need special things available in dd-wrt or alike. You won`t get better speed just by changing firmware!- If you need better range, spend some money and buy more efficient antennas to replace stock ones

After trying several wireless routers I ordered this one based on the reviews and it works great. I get great coverage and it's strong enough that my neighbors can jump on it as well. Speed is very good too.

I was looking for a new router about two months ago, and first bought a belkin n600db. It took 3 hours to hook up with the help of a tech in India. After a month of using the belkin, I found that someone else was on my router, even though it was supposed to be a top end secure router. I went to change the password and ended up on the phone to India again trying to get it to work. I decided then and there, that belkin had to go. I looked around for about 2 weeks and found the TP-Link WR 1043ND. It seemed to have what I was looking for. I bought it and went to install it, but had to call India again. The tech on the other end had no idea what the problem was, so after i spent 30 minutes learning the native tongue of India, I hung up on the tech and I called my internet provider at Comcast for help. The comcast tech had me and my router set up within minutes. I am very happy with this router. The additional usb port is great for my wireless printer and I have not had any security issues with someone piggybacking on my account. I am pretty tech savvy and have never had set up issues with cisco routers, but I would definitly reccomend the TP-Link to anyone that needs a good router that wont break the bank or add minutes to the cellphone bill while you are trying to decipher an Indian accent

I bought this router as a replacement of a g protocol. Even though the speed is better, it does not reach more then 150 Mbps. But the most annoying part is that it is necessary to reboot it at least three times per day as the computer gets a "no connection" condition. The old router does not have that problem.

I replaced my Belkin router with this one. I needed a stronger signal to assist with streaming our Dish network via the Sling Adapter to the internet. My husband drives a truck and likes to watch TV on his Droid Razor phone. My husband was having problems with freezing up of programs. The new router and phone allows him to watch programs when in a strong signal. Easy to install, only had a problem once, which turned out to be my DSL router. The carrier replaced the old DSL router box and no more connection problems with my TP-Link.

Bought this for a friend who needed a new router.Easy to setup, lots of options, does everything it says it would.Not sure about throughput for heavy traffic households but for the average person this router will do you just fine. Nice built in USB for networking a printer or storage.

I haven't used this new router yet,but I have another just like it.It works great ,just update from Tp-link home page.I'm using 4 pc's and 1 internet printer plus my Smartphone connected to router at 1 time.Great speeds and great range ,also you can update antennas with a 7dbm and that will increase the range if you still need more .I bought new router just in case, plus Amazon had it at a great price with free shipping.

Received the router today and got added as secondary router to existing verizon FIOS router (Rev E). It gave a big boost to the wireless network from wireless-G to wireless-N. I get 300 mbps rate, one floor above, in my home (Actual file transfer rate under wireless 5-6 MBytes/s (48 mbps).I tested the gigabit lan and I get 30MBytes/s on file transfer from a gigabit laptop to gigabit NAS storage. On regular Lan of actiontec MI424 router I was getting 9 MBytes/s. I have turned off the wireless on FIOS router (actiontec MI424). I tested the USB share too and looks like it is working fine. I could access it from LAN and wireless devices.You get all worth of your money.

I purchased this to replace a D-Link Extreme-N router. The D-link was ok, but would slow down after a while and seemed to have issues supporting more than 10 devices. The default firmware was so so, but limited. I flashed ww-drt and now this thing rocks.Signal strength is better and so far I haven't had any issues with slowdown or trouble with devices connecting.Pros.1. Very inexpensive2. Good Range (3 antenna screw on so you can use aftermarket)3. Better performance and range out of the box than routers costing twice as much4. Runs WW-DRT like a champCons1. Mediocre firmwareCons with WW-DRTNone so far

Keeps losing it's internal webserver, so impossible to remote configure. Have to reboot the router to get it back.Will try flashing it with an open source firmware next.The "USB File share" is pants, way too slow for anything but docs, but why not simply use google docs?

Bought this router to boost speeds with my new D-Link DNS 325. Speeds actually decreased from 5mb/s to 1.5mb/s when i replaced my Netgear WNR2000 with it, and then it simply stopped working. Could not access the internet through it period. Updated the firmware, still no use. Back to the Netgear I go.

Hi I realize this is a review for a tp-link router, but I figured I would get into the story of how I came to buy this one. I actually purchased a belkin router about a year ago to replace my old linksys wireless G router. The belkin router I had was great, paid about 60 bucks for it . I had some major problems setting it up, but after I reached a decent person at support they had me up an running and I had no complaints, then we had a storm and my router got zapped. I purchased a new belkin play router for about 70 and it took me 4 hours and 2 different people at tech support to get it set up. Then it worked when it wanted to. I spent 3 days of it dropping signal and losing connection before I was on amazon to look for a new one. I had it narrowed down to this TP link and a D-link router, which were with 10 bucks of each other. They both had decent reviews, however the d-link one had 4 star over 1000 reviews, but there were 153 that were 1 star. This tp-link had only 13 reviews but was rated 5 stars, all reviews were 4 or 5. I decided to go with the TP-link, a little cheaper and all good reviews. It arrived today and I let my sons play xbox live and try to go online for awhile, not knowing how long the internet would be out. I then told them it was time and went in the room where the modem was, and hooked it up. I use all wireless, but followed the directions for once and started off hooking it up with the network cable. About 5 minutes later I went out and connected to it on my desktop and xbox 360 wirelesly. I told my kids they could go back on and they said, right dad, whatever. I told them again, seriously go on. They were so excited. So yea I have only had it hooked up for about 30 minutes, but it is great so far. Easy set up, no dropped connections, and fast page loading. I would highly reccommend this router. I use it to connect wirelesly to a desktop, laptop, 360, and printer. Very great so far. If something changes I will edit my review or write a new one. PS I now use a surge protector that has the phone line going through it for my DSL. IT came through the phone line and zapped the router and my other sons xbox 360 ethernet port, which makes it so it will not work, but somehow the modem was left unscaved. I hope this helps anyone in the market for a wireless router.

This router is simply awesome. The signal is very strong and does not stop working from time to time like my other big brand routers. Setup was a breeze and not complicated like other routers. Will definitely recommend!!

The router works fine at the first 2-3 month, then its wireless connection is consistently hanging. My devices (laptop, ipad, android phone) takes several tries (1-2 mins) to connect. And the signal is swinging between excellent and poor even all devices are in the same room. Sometimes the wireless connection is just not available. A manual reboot usually resolves the problem, for a couple of hours.Some reviews mentioned about firmware update. Mine is on the original firmware. I have complete NO INTEREST to do firmware update on a $60 box, a BIG WASTE of my time.I'm already very tired of rebooting this junk.Why it is receiving tons of 5 stars?

Had this for a year, updated firmware to ddwrt. No problems noted. Purchased from Amazon competitor.Did try hooking printer up to usb port with limited success. Sometimes printer would print, and sometimes not.Very good brand, much more reliable than name brand more expensive routers.For the basics, can't be beat.

So I just spent my 4th hour trying to set up my TP-Link router with my MacBook Pro without ever connecting to the Internet. Before you say, "This guy must be an idiot!", one of those hours was spent with a customer service representative who could not articulate instructions in a clear manner and was arrogant and borderline condescending. Absolutely ridiculous! I finally told the "support" that I would be returning this product immediately. And by the way, I'm typing this standing up as I have to physically connect my computer to my Comcast modem. So, for those of you without an affinity for installing computer hardware, I highly suggest that you look elsewhere to get the support and results that you deserve.

setup was a piece of cake, easy. network speed is quite fast, as i'd expect for a wireless-n device. but built-in USB port for NAS is nice, but it is NOT reliable.even with the latest firmware installed, i cannot reliably move large volumes of data across my network! i normally run a weekly backup and move large files across my network. the biggest file is ~50gb but i dont get anywhere close to that with this device. i can get anywhere between 2-10gb moved before the router simply locks up. doesnt matter if i'm moving the file to a hard-drive device plugged directly into the router or to another device via wireless. the router simply cannot do it's job and reliably move 100% of data across the network.

I was shocked at the speed and the price so I took a chance. My grandson has an X-box and this wifi works great. Streaming movies are smooth also. All around a great buy.

Just read all the reviews, to see only positive things about that router.Excellent choice, and once flash with open-dwrt, you have access to almost unlimited functionality.

After comparing several other routers with similar specs, it came down to price/performance. The TP-Link seemed like a good deal and the reviews seemed good. After having used this for 4-5 weeks now I have absolutely no regrets. The wireless range and speed is excellent, the wired gigabit is awesome. I have a mixed network at home of 4 windows/linux laptops (wireless) and 2 Ubuntu 11.04 linux boxes (wired) and a network wired printer. Setup was simple after first updating the firmware. Using the WPA2-PSK. The DHCP MAC address based reservation is a great feature since I access my linux boxes on the laptops using SSH, samba and UPNP servers (all work great and smoothly). Haven't tried the DDNS, but hope to pretty soon. My WAN to LAN speeds also have significantly improved with download speed going from 14-15 Mbps to 20-21 Mbps (Comcast), on the wired LAN, and a similar percent change on the wireless connection. Haven't rebooted in 4-5 weeks and is still going strong. Overall great buy, only wish it were in black :)
