This seems like a great router for the money. It has way more features then I will probably ever use, and puts out a strong signal. I like the fact that it has detachable antennas. Those come in handy in case you want to add one of those omni directional antennas too it for a stronger signal. I hate those routers without external antennas.

Using the default TP-Link firmware with this device I had extremely spotty performance. I tried a variety of adjustments - going N only, adjusting the channels and supported frequencies, but nothing worked consistently well. I had a hunch the issue was crappy firmware rather than a hardware issue, so instead of sending it back, I decided to take a risk and put DD-WRT on it, and now it's working very well. Fantastic value for the price.For the average user who is not technical, I recommend passing until they work out the issues with the firmware.

The router works great so far. Very easy to set up and connection in a couple of minutes. It has a lot of features and I'm using it as a second router.

I've used every router brand under the sun. D-Link, Netgear, Linksys/Cisco, Buffalo and now the TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND. While it may not be as snazzy on the surface as some of the newer routers, really all I care about is if it works. Because when it doesn't, I have my family yelling at me about why their Internet connection is so slow. Don't even get me started on streaming Netflix. Anyway, the TP-LINK router, while not as well known in the US, is a solid piece of tech. It was easy to set up and has been rock solid with signal stability. Some issues reaching the far depths of another room downstairs, but for that I'm likely going to need a repeater or a Homeplug PowerLine adapter. I guess wireless can only go so far as of now.

After going through and testing 4 other routers, I settled on this one. It has the most throughput with no overhead or, interference issues. I have a 10 meg DSL connection and, this router gives me the highest speed over wireless than my older 2 routers and, the two new ones I tested. All I had to do with this one for setup is, connect my laptop to the router via ethernet, insert the CD into the laptop drive, follow the prompts within the software, assign my wifi a name and key and, that's it. It was up and running in about, 3 minutes. The only other thing I did was, log into the interface of the router and, change the login and password.I connected three laptops, two cell phones, my wireless printer plus, a friends tablet. It handles everything with ease and, it has not hung up nor, needed a restart. This router is also a very nice looking unit. I highly recommend this unit for it's performance, price and, ease of use. You won't be disappointed.

No matter what I did, this thing will not get an IP address. Support was a joke. They told me to do the same thing that I did (via email). I tried to contact them again via phone (because they do not have a live chat option) and I got an answering machine that sounded like it was just a guy in a room.If I cannot get an IP address, it is useless to me.

I started using this router with factory firmware, but continued to receive wireless drops as reported in other reviews. I was not willing to give up N throughput as suggested in other reviews. Also, the factory firmware USB support is weak (I could get a USB drive to work as a network drive, but the print server stinks). I read about too many issues with DD-WRT on this router, so wasn't comfortable going that route. I learned that Gargoyle firmware is pretty stable for the WR1043ND. Flashing over to Gargoyle was a snap, and the router has performed flawlessly since. Great range, quick, and stable.

I ordered this router after reading the reviews for several different routers on Amazon. My seven year-old Linksys was randomly dropping connectivity a couple of times a week, requiring re-setting, so I figured it's time to upgrade to a wireless N router. I had just replaced my ten year old Motorola cable modem a few days prior, after being notified by Comcast that they soon would not support it and I needed to upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0. Switching to a new modem more than doubled my download speed (to about 22 MBPS) and my upload speed (to about 4 MBPS), so that was a good investment. I figured the new router would improve things a little more.Got the router, used the installation DVD to set it up. It was very easy, no problem at all. Just follow the directions. It took less than ten minutes from opening the box. I also have a VOIP router in the mix, and even that posed no problem, just be sure to power-up everything in the right order.All the wireless devices in the house were able to get onto the network via the new router easily after changing the security to WPA2 and changing the network key. This includes a laptop, an android phone and a wireless printer.So, we couldn't wait to re-run the bandwidth test! Surprise, surprise, the speed was unchanged. It's pretty fast, but upgrading to the wireless N really had no effect.At least it's new and will last a few years with any luck.Nice router, easy setup. Not a bad price. I'm satisfied!

Too many times I found myself waiting for huge GB files to transfer between machines on my 10/100 network. This fixed that problem. It also significantly sped up my Slingbox Pro streaming. Has lots of useful settings. Great price at $49.95. Worth every penny! Had it about a week. Seems real stable so far.

This router was purchased as a upgrade to an N class router for me. It also includes a USB port which I use for storage and is upgradable to open source firmware. I'm still using the stock, and it works fine for me. May upgrade that someday when I have time.

We've had this router for several months now and are mostly pleased with its performance. We purchased it to move up from Linksys Wireless G router and in the hopes of extending our wireless range in our large home. Setup was very easy and the device has been a solid performer. Our Linksys seemed to degrade over time and needed more frequent reboots. This router has rarely needed any attention at all. Our desktops as well as our home theater are hardwired to the router and we regularly stream video/movies to the TV. Rarely do we have any performance issues. So rare in fact that I've never bothered to go so far as to investigate whether they might be a router or ISP or streaming service issue. The one thing we are disappointed in is its wireless range. While we do have it in a sub-optimal location, it has provided only a marginal increase in range from the previous G router, despite its claim of "extreme range". We very recently purchased the ASUS (RT-N12) Wireless-N 300 Advance Home Router: Fast Ethernet, 3 in 1 switch(Router/Repeater/Access Point) and support upto 4 Guest SSID(Open source DDWRT Support) to use as a repeater. It is doing a great job of extending our wireless network to the weak points in the house.

I have had my TP-Link for several months and have had no problems with it. It handles multiple bandwidth usage very well and does not freeze up. It also has many security features that are awesome! Highly recommend!

This router constantly disconnects and has to be reset. Also, it caused my internet speeds to go verrrrry slow. I'm glad I saved by old linksys, it works much better!

Had this product for a year. It worked fine for a while, then it started freezing about 3 times a day! I called technical support. They tried to be helpful , but their poor english was getting in the way all the time. I am trying to send it back to be repaired. I will write another review later.

Bought this several months ago when I suspected my old wireless router was misbehaving. Switched to this and was able to get to a web site that wouldn't come up on the old device. I did a full reset on the old device but somehow it was screwing up DNS.Anyway this device has worked fine for months now and the laptop and downstairs PC are getting 150 Mbs connections instead of 57 Mbs that they got on the old 802.11g router.The only thing it doesn't do that I'd want is 5 GHz. But it isn't an issue, it's just something I wish it had.

This router is one of the best values for "wireless" N router out there! Period.Easy set up. Suprisingly good factory firmware, although I still flashed to DD-WRT. It has all thegreat features and good coverage for a price that is a no brainer. Fantastic value!

When the router works it's fantastic. We even pick up 4 bars down the block at our mailbox about 150 feet away. However the wireless signal drops 2 times a day, each time requiring a soft reset(unplug/replug). From the amount of people complaining about this online I can assume this is a common defect of this model. If you decide to take a chance just be prepared to go through the return process.

This router shipped from Datavision Computer and arrived a lot sooner than expected. It was scheduled to arrive between the 10th and the 13th, and showed up today, the 7th. I had it up and running in no time using the included disk. I did have to download and flash the router to the latest firmware so I could use the print server, but that took no time at all. I have my desktop hard wired to it, and an iPod, two laptops, and a blue ray player connected wirelessly. I will update this review after I have used it for a while to tell my experience with it. So far so good!

The wireless connectivity on this router stopped working after about 9 months. It took awhile but I've finally narrowed the problem down to this router. The wired gigabit connectivity is fine. I was experiencing dropouts and upgraded the firmware hoping for a solution.Unfortunately the latest firmware does NOT fix it either. It's really frustrating to have to reboot this router at least once-a-day now. And even then it does not always start working immediately. It's very unpredictable. My old Linksys did not experience this at all.I'm really disappointed and don't know if this is fixable or not. I would not buy this router again.

This router is working pretty well. Had some issue with the NAS storage but updated firmware and it seemed to fix the issue. Signal is 4 out of 5 stars. Get pretty good signal strength through bricks, multiple walls and doors. I use the wireless for the laptop, kindle, and amazon instant HD movie streams and the wired side for the gaming computer. This router is deal of the year. I cant believe that I own a Gigabyte Ethernet router with 300 Mbps and a USB NAS storage options for this router all for 52 bucks. I was really surprised to get this. Most of your big named brands are much more expensive. TP-LINK is a chines company to.

Bought 15 of these. All worked great. No problems. Also has a nice feature to plug a usb drive into the router and create your own little ftp server. Thats pretty handy.
