Faster than I expected. Quick access button for people connecting devices via WiFi (so you don't need the security key). I get good reception throughout my 1400 sq ft home. Glad I did not have to pay $100 to get a great router like this. Super easy set up.

Don't know why, but we couldn't get this router to deliver normal speeds with our wired devices running Gigabit Ethernet. The wireless side seemed to perform OK with slighlly below normal range on an N ONLY network, but everything connected with cable had problems. We returned this and bought a Netgear N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR4500). Yes we know it is three times more expensive, but it is delivering about 70% more radio signal/range than this device and using the exact same settings and devices on the wired side we are enjoying screaming Gigabit Ethernet speeds on our LAN.During our search for the perfect wireless N devices to upgrade our large home network (12 devices not including printers and HDDs), we tried several TP-Link products and for one reason or another they all failed to impress us. They look nice, but that's about it.Our final choice was that one 4500 and a TRENDnet 638APB wireless N access point to connect a distant bedroom DTV HR-22 DVR to our living room HR-22 150 feet away over wireless . These two products replaced FOUR Linksys WRT-54GLs that were previously required to cover our entire home with useable wireless signal but were unable to handle 1080i streaming video for the HR-22s. The WR1043ND had one of the weakest output signals of the 5 other brands we tried before learning about the NetGear 4500 from the PC Magazine N Router shoot-out where it won the Editor's Choice Award for the best wireless N router of 2011. We couldn't agree more! I don't think this TP-Link was even in the top 10.If you can afford the additional cost, it is well worth the investment! Wish I had picked it first and saved myself two weeks of netwok hell and all the returns and exchanges!

If you serial number is 12xxxxxxx, the router will not connect to the internet after you flash. Google "TP-Link TL-WR1043ND DD-WRT No WAN fix" to find a site with information to fix it. Amazon does not allow the URL to be posted.

For the most part the product is terrible. Most of my devices are unable to connect to it anywhere near 300mbps. Even at the lower speed this keeps dropping signals and needs periodic restarts. I even tried the WRT firmware but it didn't help much either. Make sure you read some of the latest reviews here on AMAZON.I have a 4 years old verizon 56mbps wireless router which works alot better than this one. There is no XBOX gaming possible on it, my console kept on giving me 'connection' warnings during the game.I tried this router for a good 10 days and i just now generated a RMA with Amazon's great customer service. Save your dollars people!

I didn't know what to expect from this router. I had to buy a new one because my internet provider upgraded its signal. It was easy to set up, and it just works!

When you read the reviews on wireless routers there doesn't seem to be a clear favorite. Linksys seems to have an equal share of haters & lovers. I had a Netgear that only lasted 3 months, and then had a Zyxel Extrememimo wireless router that worked pretty flawlessly for 5 years, but it finally died. I wanted a reasonably priced replacement, and after the Zyxel, I wasn't afraid of trying a less known brand. I have a tall house with 4 levels, and I need range and power. This TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND has three antennas (that they say can even be upgraded !). I thought this thing looked like a winner.On 1st use I was impressed that my new notebook with wireless N was seeing 170Mbps connection speed. Then I took it down 3 flights of stairs to the basement and it was still getting a respectable 56Mbps. But my old notebook with wireless G couldn't connect to this router at all from the basement. Then the signal speed started dropping off on my new notebook. Long story short, after two days of playing with the antennas and re-starting it, and noticing how hot it runs, I gave up and returned it and am now having good results with the Medialink.Many, many purchases...this is the first time I returned something to Amazon - Thanks !

I can get signal about 1000 feet outside my apt, and that comes in handy when you are in a heated argument with the wife. I just hope the WiFI signal that strong wont mess up my brain waves down the line.

I have always used netgear equipment but have recently tried TP Link. These blow away the big names (Linksys, D-Link, ect) with features and cost a fraction of the price.I have setup my apartment with three of these routers - the router at the cable modem has DCHP server enabled. They are wired together using the built in gigabit speed and the other two extend the same network. This has been a great setup - fast speeds and full signal throughout the apartment

I have had this router for quite some time now. I am in the market to replace it, as it seems to need rebooting at least once a week. All my devices lose connection to it. I find my phone disconnects/reconnects 2-3 times a day, at least.I like the software, and configuration.Given my experience with it, I'll likely go with a different brand.

I was looking to improve the wireless coverage in my house and needed to extend some wired connectivity as well. Putting one device at the center of the house might have provided enough coverage but would have been eye sore and wouldn't have solved my other problem. So, I ended up buying two of these and hiding them at either end of the house. If you know what you're doing, you can easily throw away the instructions and disc that come with it. I didn't need most of the features it came with and probably disabled most of them. I just set it up as an access point and pointed it to my RADIUS server. Works perfect.

I have purchased three of these products and am not particularly impressed. Signal strength has been fine, but all of them (at totally different sites and with current updates) have to be rebooted on an irregular basis.

Overall, I am very happy with the performance. There is a noticeable difference from out last wireless router. My son play online gaming and was very frustrated that his connection would cut in and out. We purchased the TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND and are very happy with it. Would recommend other to purchase.

Updated after relying on this for a few months. It sucks, it is a piece of junk. I can't get Wireless N speeds regardless of configuration or clients (I'm a network engineer). Additionally, anytime it's doing bandwidth intensive transactions like streaming netflix, tivo 2 tivo traffic or streaming from my PC to my google TV (all wireless N clients), it crashes every 10-15 minutes. This of course interrupts everything I'm doing until it reboots. I will be returning this hunk of crap and paying extra for something that doesn't fail repeatedly.Things to note: it is not overheating, it is not surrounded by other electronics or otherwise in an enclosed space. Additionally, it's in the middle of a 1200 square foot apartment, so it isn't overextended. The furthest device from it is 20-25 feet through two non-load bearing walls.

I purchased this router because I had new high speed cable internet installed (30 Mbps). The setup was easy and performance was excellent. The only problem I had was trying to play online games on multiple xbox 360s. I had no problems on my old routers opening up ports (88,3074,53,80) for multiple devices. This router does not allow you to port forward the same port on multiple devices/ip addresses. Port triggering also did not work. 1 xbox could connect just fine. The other one ended up with moderate/strict NAT. UPnP also did not function as it should. I flashed the firmware to the latest version and still had the same problems. This was not a defective unit because I also purchased the TL-WR1042ND with the same exact problem. After several hours of forums and fustration, I finally flashed the firmware to the compatible dd-wrt custom firmware. Turned on UPnP and both xboxes connected with open NAT. Great device but crappy firmware. Hardcore gamers beware.

First, this is just a router, it is not a modem/router. You must have a modem to connect to the internet. I got this router to connect a cable, Roadrunner, internet connection. The modem was already there, but the router needed replacing. I had some experience with TP-Link, and this router was in the right price range and seemed to have the right qualifications. The router was easy to connect and network connections were easy to make with the QSS button on the front. The router has 4 ethernet ports for wired connections, as well as being wireless. This router is outstanding, especially for the price and I would recommend it to anyone. Be sure to check with your internet provider to be sure of their requirements for a router before you purchase.

Awesome. Installed DD-WRT once I received it, and it's been working non-stop since. Had to unplug/reboot it maybe twice in the year or better that I've owned it.

Well compared to what I did have and what I was using, this thing is way better! I game online quite a bit and this has no problem keeping up. When im on my laptop surfing the net or on youtube, there is little to no lag. Its not the routers fault that my actual internet connection is slow. Overall, I like it!

After researching a few different routers I finally decided on this one and for a few reasons:1. Had to be a great quality, name brand router.2. Fairly inexpensive.3. Removable antennas (so I could attach a higher powered one)4. Simple, easy to use interface, but with some advanced features still included (bandwidth control, etc...)Overall, I'm happy with this product and would definitely recommend to anyone who asks.

After four months of having the router it occasionally drops wired and wireless connection and needs to be unplugged for it to work again. I've also had this problem with Linksys and Cisco routers but my other Linksys router doesn't drop the signal quite as often. The Linksys router cost me $50 and have had it for a year just fyi in case some of you start thinking I'm comparing it to a $100 brand new Linksys router. I do like the range of this router and is why I'm not giving it a lower rating than 3 stars. I will probably move this router to the kitchen where my WiFi devices, even though we have two routers, only get one bar of signal and replace it with an Asus router. I haven't purchased an Asus router before but I think its worth trying it out and will see if it works better than this one.
