So far this has worked very nicely. It has nice coverage and a fast signal. The reason I didn't give it five stars is two fold. First the directions for using the add device button are a bit spotty. I had it all set-up and then decided to add a WiFi blue-ray player by using the button. What the did not tell me in the manual is that doing so resets the modem and gives an arbitrary name and password. This would mean I would have to either memorize an insane name and password or use the button every time I want to add a new device. I reset the modem and set it back up with the name and password I wanted and it worked fine but a little reference in the directions could have saved me some time. The other reason for 4 stars is that I have had to reset the modem one time after a few days to get it back up. I am hoping this is not a regular occurrence because one of the reasons I bought this was to replace an old WiFi that I had to reset almost daily... time will tell on this.

I really wanted to like this router, but from the moment I hooked it up, it's given me nothing but trouble. I first tried it with the stock firmware in the simplest setup. It wasn't exactly plug and play. It couldn't figure out my type of connection and kept asking me for information I didn't have (and I knew it didn't need.) I decided to just flash dd-wrt onto it and forget about the stock firmware. dd-wrt worked fine, until the wireless would cut out every 24 hours or so. It needed a reboot to come back from it. Okay, perhaps the open source firmware wasn't quite ready for this router model, so I upgraded back to the most recent version of stock firmware from TP-Link. Worked fine for another 24 hours, then the signal stopped (both wireless and wired connections) and wouldn't work until I rebooted it.Needless to say, I need to return this. The hardware specs for this router are pretty amazing for the price, so I really wanted it to work, but I guess I just got a dud. This unpleasant experience may push me away from this brand when I decide on a replacement though. Quality control should be better. I didn't really ding them for this, but I also found many sections in the firmware explanations with bad grammar. Very unprofessional, but I let it slide so long as the hardware worked. However, the hardware didn't work, and so I now question the legitimacy of the TP-Link brand as a whole. Unless they come out with a unanimously well reviewed router in the future, I will not be buying from TP-Link again.

I bought this router around $45 few months ago. The link quality and signal strength are much better than other routers similarly priced range. At first, I had problems wifi keeps dying on the router. I had to reboot one or two times everyday. After using several hours, I was not able to connect even though I could see my router in the available network list in my notebook.I tried to upgrade the firmware using TP-LINK website, but I kept experiencing the same problem after the firmware upgrade. Then I checked out the famous DD-WRT firmware forum, but too many people reported they had experienced issues so they wanted to revert back to original TP-LINK firmware. So basically I had no options and was thinking about purchasing a new router. Then I tried changing few options of TP-LINK admin page, and I think I figured out the perfect settings. I did not have to reboot the router for the last 5 days and the connection quality has been excellent. Here is what I did.QSS : I disabled the QSS. It seems QSS is very unstable.Wireless Settings :1. Channel: Use the channel which no other neighborhood routers are not using.2. Mode: I have only wifi N devices , so I am using "11n only" option.3. Channel Width: 20MHz - Dont' select AUTO or 40MHz. (Important)4. Max TX rate : 130MbpsI hope this helps someone. This is perfectly working excellent router. Don't throw this router away.

I've had an accessport made by tp-link and that's been working fine for about a year now so why not try the router?I got the router, tried setting it up and at first I had some problems, normally I don't have too much trouble setting up any electronics but this needed a bit of a push. You don't need the CD that it comes up, even though it says you do. The following instructions solved the problem for me.Connect everything, make sure you have an internet connection first so directly connect your cable modem/dsl to your computer and verify you have internet connectivity. Then take out the ethernet and plug it to your WAN port on the router, and connect another ethernet from one of the LAN ports on your router to your computer, if that does not work. I found these instructions off their forums "[...]":*********************BEGIN - HOW TO SETUP ROUTER*********************1. Turn the cable modem off firstly, then turn your router and computer off, and leave them off for about 2 minutes;2. Turn the cable modem on firstly, and wait till the modem works stable (All LED lights work normally).3. Turn the router on and wait about 1 minute, and then power on your computer.4. Repeat the steps 1-3above until you connect to the Internet.*********************END - HOW TO SETUP ROUTER*********************Follow the instructions precisely, do not skip any steps and make sure all computer/electronics hooked up to the router are off when it says "computer off" in the first step, they are just assuming you are attempting to connect only one computer. That solved it for me :)

Got this to replace my D-Link 100 Mbit/sec wireless N router. It was working fine. I just wanted more speed. The TP Link delivers on that. I get stable 25 MB/sec file transfers by FTP to my Gigabit NAS. OK, that's only 200 Mbit/sec, but these things never come close to their max rated speed. Also, when streaming video from my NAS to the media server and TV, the fast forward works smoothly up to 16x. Could never get past 4x with the D-Link.The USB port doesn't work properly out of the box, and if you try to use it anyway it will cause frequent disconnects from the internet. Go online and upgrade to the latest firmware, then it's OK. Don't expect to create a high performance NAS on the cheap though. You're limited by the USB 2.0 connection. Average transfer rate on FTP is 3 MB/sec. Files must be accessed through IE, not the normal "My Computer" route, and you have to enter a command line in the Windows RUN box to do that. The hyperlink in the router interface for direct file access is broken; maybe the next firmware update will fix it. Also video streaming from an attached USB drive is strictly 1x speed. You can go up to 2x on FForward if you don't mind a lot of jerkiness. Still, considering the cost of the router, it's a reasonable level of functionality. The wireless N performance seems OK; about the same as the D-Link. I didn't speed test it, but it has acceptable signal strength anywhere in my house (max distance 70', and 4 walls).Sitting horizontally the processor, which is right under the nameplate on top, gets quite hot. I recommend mounting (not standing) it vertically on the side of a bookshelf or something. Then you get good bottom to top airflow through the vents at either end. I did this and the processor is almost at room temp.As far as the rating, it does everything I want and the price is good. I wasn't happy having to update the firmware. I like things to work "out of the box" without having to be repaired first, so minus one star to 4 stars total.

My past router (Linksys WRT54GS) started dropping out after many years of good service and I decided to take this opportunity to fix that issue AND upgrade from G to N wireless. I chose the TP-LINK WR1043ND.Hardware v1.8 is what I received, it came with the AUG 2010 firmware (v1_100820).I upgraded it to the latest/next firmware (May 2011) but this seemed to make it unstable. Within 4 to 12 hrs it would FREEZE (SYSTEM light no longer blinking; was either solid on or off = router not healthy). I could not access the internal settings/webpage of the router when it froze. I had to cycle power on the router to get it to come back to life and work for the next x hrs.Fortunately it is able to go back DOWN a firmware version (just have it "upgrade" to the older .bin flash file) so I have it back to the AUGUST 2010 firmware and it works GREAT.Looking at our wireless connections, we're getting 150 Mbps wireless using N (where my old G router only got up to 54 Mbps). This router is a 300Mbps class wireless router. I haven't looked into what it takes to really get that, but I'm happy with the increase we have. The QUICK SETUP is very easy to use. The only other thing I had to do was CHANGE THE MAC ADDRESS to match my old router MAC (because if it's not the same some ISPs won't let you connect and get an IP address). I have comcast and this is the case for them. You just have to go to the NETWORK / MAC Clone section to do this.A few other notes:--The base rubber feed are almost non-existant because of how short they are; they're really more SCREW hole covers than feet. Because of this, there really isn't any air circulation beneath the router. This is probably because there are MOUNT holes on the bottom (like to a wall). I have mine on my desk so I just put something under it to keep it elevated and allow air/cooling. Not a big deal.--The SYS (System) light blinks slowly to indicate good router health. It's nice to have a router w/status light to let me quickly know if something's wrong with it. Note: this won't tell you if you've acquired an IP or not, just that the router/hardware is all operating properly.--For the modders and uber-geeks: This router model IS supported if you want to re-flash it to DD-WRT as the router firmware/interface (note this will probably void your warranty if you do it and it doesn't work.) I am happy to leave it with the firmware it shipped with for now until I get the itch to mod it.--This router does offer DoS and FLOOD protection with settable thresholds. Not sure what they're worth in a true data storm, but they are there.--TP-LINK was a brand I had not heard of before browsing and reading reviews, but I've seen a LOT of positive reviews about this and I am HAPPY with my purchase (despite my speedbump on the May 2011 firmware).

I've bought two of these, one for my lady's home and one for my own. They both have proven to be 100% reliable, and since installation, neither has ever required rebooting, even though the DSL and cable modems that they connect to have required rebooting a few times each. The useable range is excellent, and both can be reached with full speed connections from at least 200 yards away through our Dell and HP laptops. My router is in a particularly hostile environment, being located less than 1000 yards from two cellular towers, three FM radio stations and a 900 KHz AM radio station as well. As someone who designed antennas and filters for a living and who has held a FCC commercial radiotelephone license with ship radar endorsement for over 30 years, I am impressed at this router's excellent quality and reliability.

TP-Link has a lot of potential, but I've sure paid the price!! Every few days, the TL-WR1043ND web admin page freezes and the device will not accept new WiFi connections. Connected devices work fine until they loose the WiFi signal. The only way to live with this device is to put the unit on a timer that power cycles and resets the device every night! 2-3 days is all it will run without resetting. Seems like a firmware memory leak. The support team has given me lots of things to try, but they are shooting in the dark vs. really assisting me. They seem to be more interested in saving themselves time or money than proactively doing some practical things to fix the problem and to keep me as a customer, like swapping the hardware, giving me some debug code, monitoring the unit remotely for stats, or something! I was even willing to buy another TL-Link model, but I wanted to know what units had different hardware/software base to avoid this problem, and they cannot tell me. The customer service seems very Junior and does not understand customer service and does not seem to be working closely with their Engineering team. This company needs to really mature before I'll buy more devices. The unit has a lot of nice features, but I can't rely on this device until they can fix the major problems with the unit freezing. If I worked for Netgear, D-Link, or LinkSys, I'd not be worried today, but watch out if TP-Link ever gets their act together, there is potential here!!! For now, I'd stay away from TP-Link and check them out again in a few months.

Well this router is an unbelievable piece of hardware for the price, the signal is great I mean I live in a 5th floor and the Wireless network is visible from the 2nd and is working in the 3rd without problems, so inside my appartment the signal 98~100% in all the rooms. The habillity to share an usb device is amazing, I use this with my Thermaltake BlacX Duet eSATA USB Dual Hard Drives Docking Station ST0014U, this works great, sometimes the speed over the wireless network is not the best but it works right away and to have this available over the air on all my house is great, also I can play movies stored in the hard drive connected to the router with the usb without any problems and most of them are in HD quality so this is great, the security settings are really good enought for my home and the administrator UI is really easy to use.I use it between my ISP modem and my home network, so there are 2 laptops, 3 smartphones and 2 videogame consoles hoked up to the wireless network and now I have no problems at all, with my ISP modem I use to have a wireless network but as soon as a third device enter the quality of the conection for all goes to hell, so this TP router solves that problem for me and bring a media server and ftp and file server inside by just plugging something to the usb port.

I was impressed with the TP-LINK's pretty little wireless router, and I was in the midst of my "dump cable for broadband and antenna TV" adventure, so even though I can sometimes be a total dork when it comes to hooking stuff up, I awaited it with keen anticipation. So, it's sad that I hated it. The first time I put the software disc in, it wouldn't auto prompt, so I retried and it worked the second time. Then I get through the installation and the final step wouldn't take. It just churned. So I uninstalled, reinstalled...nope, still wouldn't complete. I finally went online and searched for resolution, and finally got it completely installed. Then I happily went about getting it to recognize all my wireless items. Which it did...the first time. Tried to use my phone a little later...nope, not recognizing the wireless. I fought and fought with this thing. Finally I gave up, uninstalled it and boxed it back up. Here's the thing: I ended up getting AT&T U-verse broadband, which came with a wireless modem/router. The wireless "code" is (wait for it) on the SIDE of the router. So, it took about 10 minutes to get everything wireless in my house securely accessing the Internet. These days there is no reason to fight with a router to get it installed and working properly. They have this sh** down to where even dummies can hook up their own stuff. Skip this one and get something easier to use. (It is pretty though.)

I bought this router after having read some of the reviews on here, and they were not lying. The router does cut out intermittently, but as it turns out all you have to do is go into your settings and change the DHCP "Address Lease Time" from the ridiculous 120 minutes to the max of two days. That got rid of most of the disconnects, but occasionally it still needs a reboot when the speed would inexplicably drop to 2mbit/s. Otherwise it is quite a decent router. The gigabit LAN works amazing, and the wireless speed is also pretty good.Windows tells me I'm at 99% signal strength through 2 walls and 10 yards away, while inSSIDER give me about -50dBm (-20 when right next to the router).Would I buy it again? Probably. despite the random slowdowns this router has given me relatively less trouble than some of the others I have had, the speed is great, and the external antennas can cut through 30(!) other access points.Oh, and if you want to install DD-WRT on this guy, the newer version have some issue with the WAN port not working, so you have to downgrade the firmware. DD-WRT also doesn't let it use the 40mhz channels, and for some reason gives a weaker signal and slower speeds (my reason for going back to the stock firmware which is not bad). You can see what the stock firmware can do here: [...]

Ok... So this router was fine for the first year with the occasional connectivity issue. The second to last time I had to update the firmware and it fixed the issue. The last time nothing worked so I installed dd-wrt which loaded fine but after one last reboot of the router I couldn't even connect to it via ethernet. I was so frustrated that I broke the damn thing over my knee and immediately drove to Best Buy for a new router. I just decided to future proof my houses with an AC router and sprung for the Asus ASUS RT-AC66U Dual-Band Wireless-AC1750 Gigabit Router. That thing is lightning fast. Sucks to have to drop the coin for losing my temper but I would have needed to anyway eventually.

I purchased this router to replace my old reliable Linksys that was failing a little more every day. We are running W7/64 on all our machines. As some have described, the setup can be problematic. The resource CD stopped half-way through the install process and couldn't find the wired network. I unplugged the cable modem and router and re-plugged them again in the correct order - still no joy with the resource CD. So, I took my limited knowledge and used a browser install which turned out ok until....the router re-started itself with the new settings, security, etc. Again, it couldn't find the wired network connection. I replaced the Ethernet cable, again, no joy. I would give it 2 stars for install.I by-passed the router and went directly from the cable modem to the Ethernet connection on my PC to go to Mother `zon and read the earlier reviews. I therefore decided to upgrade the firmware (big thanks to other reviewers!). Easier than I thought and with another few minutes (or an hour) of tweaking, we were back in business after the router again couldn't find the wired network after restarting....seems to be a pattern. The really time consuming process was getting the router to recognize our wireless network printers (relatively new Epson AO1s). That took some coaxing but we are back completely with the new connection. The next day, it dropped the wired connection again but the highly technical unplug/replug method worked satisfactorily.Been up 2 days now with no apparent problems. Coverage is good to my wife's laptop (40 feet/thru sheet rock walls). Haven't set it up in the basement yet. Wireless speed is 150Mbps now. Haven't seen it higher.I would highly recommend that you upgrade the firmware during the install. Simple and painless and it seemed to solve most problems. I am now re-start-phobic. It seems that the longer it works the more confident I become but I dread the next restart, inevitable password change it puts me thru, and the problems that creates with peripherals.Would I recommend it? Only to someone with some networking knowledge - it hasn't been plug-n-play for me.**UPDATE** 8/26/11After many drops and loss of signal problems that I never had with my old dying Linksys, I have decided to replace the unit as it just doesn't seem reliable. I understand the problems with wireless connection drops - I think - but I have had numerous drops of my wired connection. Thinking it may be the on-board net adapter, I replaced it but to no avail. When wired directly from the cable modem to the PC, no problems, but it drops when connected to the router. A real pain to re-boot, especially for my wife - when the signal drops.I cannot recommend this product. My bad decision - 1 star.

After reading about all the features of this router it is the best choice for me, until the newest ones come down in price. The seller Great Price Better Deals shipped very quickly and the product arrived, but wasn't packed well, it was inside the original box, then stuffed inside another box with no packaging material to keep it from being shaken while it was in transit. Ok, no problem, the first thing I noticed was the box looked as if it was a year old, and very beat up with tears and etc. Still no worries, just as long as it works properly. I followed the instructions which were included even though I am an A+, Network +, MSCE, and Cisco certified technician. The router powered on , then the lights would do the following, the power light and QSS light would blink on, then all the lights blinked on, then the light for power, and lan port 3 where my computer was on lit up. Then it started the whole sequence all over again. I tried resetting the router, but to no avail. I tried to log into the router by assigning a static ip, still no connection to the network. Meanwhile the lights blinked in their rhythmic fashion. I called TP link, the technician there didn't speak English well, and took 15 minutes just for him to understand that even with nothing plugged in, it did the same thing, after he realized that, he said the product was defective.I sent three emails requesting a new product to replace this one, but the company I ordered from still has not responded. I sent in the request for a refund, and will ship back this defective product to Great Price Better Deals and will probably never do business with them again unless they make me happy miraculously. Ill update later

This TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND is a geeker's paradise router - especially for those on a bit of a budget and looking for the bestest bang for the buck by far.In general, wi-fi routers are those kinds of devices that produce sometimes unwarranted negative reviews on account of the purchasers' unrelated bad fortune. Hence, I ventured in to this purchase with a bit of hesitation. Luckily, my fears were completely unwarranted!First thing was to replace the stock firmware with the DD-WRT custom firmware, a standard practice for all geeks such as myself. That upgrade went without issue. I am now at build 18024, and have not had a single issue with it since the upgrade. At first, I was a tad disappointed with the range and signal strength of the router, but I had placed it on a shelf in a far corner of the basement, alongside a bunch of metal boxes and other falderal. Once I moved the unit about 10 feet closer to the center of the house, mounted on a wall with all three antennae pointing straight up, the signal strength shot WAY up, and I was getting 4 bars everywhere in the house. Then, I used a wi-fi signal analyzer on my Android phone to get a handle on competing signals on all channels within my own neighborhood. Turns out all my neighbors were crowded down on channels 2-8. Channel 11 was all but free, so I set my router to it. I also set the router to "N-G" mode, forsaking "A" and "B" modes. I turned on "Turbo" mode as well. Now, my "N" devices are able to take advantage of the full 300Mbps wireless connections. All my wired connections are 1Gbps.I am completely thrilled with this router, and would recommend to anyone who would take kindly to trick it out for maximum performance.

After AT&T added caps to their DSL service for monthly usage I looked for a reliable way to at least meter, and hopefully limit the bandwidth used by the 5 computers in my house. I could not find a single consumer level router made by ANY manufacturer that included such a feature. I did learn about a 3rd party firmware that worked on many different routers though that would allow me to not only see where bandwidth was being used, but also set quotas and enforce them however I saw fit. The firmware in question is called Gargoyle and when checking the list of routers that would be compatible with it, this particular model had the highest available ram and flash, so I figured it would provide the best experience without modifying the hardware to add more memory, which would have been a bit beyond my skills.Once it arrived I downloaded the appropriate build of the latest version of gargoyle, and used the built in update on the device's web interface to flash it. The process only took a minute and then it was booted into Gargoyle. Less than 2 minutes later I had all 5 of my machines set to static ip addresses, and all but one of those (the computer I do all our downloading from, and then share with others via shared folder) setup with a daily quota. Once the quota assigned is used up I decided to only limit connection speed, not shut off internet entirely though I could have done that as well. Now I can view my usage instantly in realtime for the entire network through the router which makes staying under the cap amount at least feasible, as is not the case if I relied on AT&T's useless traffic reporting web page.Though my experience with the router in it's stock configuration was quite brief, it worked well as expected even then. The real benefit of this model though is how well it works with 3rd party firmware. It flashed easily and has worked flawlessly since. The firmware allows me to see the cpu load during operation and even while the router was reporting over 2000 connections active it still had quite low load so I believe the underlying hardware would be quite capable of handling a much faster connection and/or more computers than I am using it for (8mb dsl with 5 client computers, 2 on wireless). The wireless connection has also been much more stable that it was with the DLink I replaced with this one.I would highly recommend this router to anyone that asked, especially if they were contemplating using a 3rd party firmware, which is necessary for anyone wanting to manage or at least record the bandwidth usage of multiple computers on a network.

I purchased this router to replace my NETGEAR WNR3500L, as I wanted something with better signal strength. On the outside, it looks like this would meet my requests, as it has three external antennas. Unfortunately, once it was setup, it was actually much worse than what my NETGEAR router was putting out. Transmission rates and signal strengths were a fraction of what I was expecting. In terms of the router itself, it seems to work just fine. Setup is easy, and you don't need to use the included CD (just plug everything into it and access the browser-based setup assistant).Overall, if you're looking for something with great signal strength, I'd look elsewhere.- besweeet@gmail.com

This replaced my positively ancient TP-Link WR54g router at my home. The old TP-Link router was always stable, and ran for years without complaint. The only issue I've run across (with both of my parents having tablets and smartphones now) is that the effective range was positively paltry and would not cover our kitchen.Enter the TP-Link WR1043ND. This router's effective range far eclipses the range of the older router, and offers much faster speeds throughout its range of coverage. The USB host port has proven to be a windfall as it allows the whole house to access my external harddrive as a NAS quite easily. This was well, well worth the price.

I've had this router for almost 8 months.I have to reboot it every 2 days or so because the wireless signal drops to a super slow 2.x MB/S every so often. When I got it, it came with DDWRT. Extra features are awesome, assuming the router works. Honestly, I got this because of the external antenna. We keep ours in a shoe closet under the stairs, so I slapped on a few 9db antenna for extra coverage, and the signal reaches all parts of the house and even most of the backyard/frontyard with almost full reception. That's about the only positive I have for this router. It is easy to configure, but the thing is so frustrating. Most of the heavy bandwidth stuff is wired in my house, but occasionally when I transfer files from my computer to the server, it takes forever, because the wifi signal will slow to a crawl. It's reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally annoying...have I mentioned that?I did consider the possibility that the other antenna were causing some sort of problem, however unlikely that is. So I put the original antenna back on and still, same issue.Considering how good the other reviews are, I must've gotten some sort of defective product? All I know is that I'm going to have to buy a new router now and I wish I had saved myself the 60 bucks and just bought the other one instead.Like I said, I may have gotten a lemon, but I more than likely won't be buying a TP-Link product again.

A few weeks I bought one of these to replace my sturdy old trendnet 639. I figured i'd upgrade to something newer with better features. Big mistake. I've just returned my third and final purchase of this particular router. Maybe I just have really bad luck, but I have to advise against this brand. Three strikes. First one: Drops wifi needed daily reboot. Second: wired performance progressively slower until finally locking up completely. Third: even worse wifi drops than the first. As far as I can tell, no company makes a really rock solid router. All have at least 25% bad reviews. The Trendnet that worked so well for me has even worse reviews, so I guess I just lucked out there. I'm trying Netgear next. Thank you Amazon for great return policy so I'm not stuck with one of these clunkers!

This router is absolutely amazing with DD-WRT! I have remote ssh access, blazing fast wireless N, and an 8gb flash drive access that I can access remotely with winscp as well as use as a samba drive locally. Anyone considering this router, should buy it immediately with one caveat, flash DD-WRT! I could not even get the stock firmware to work with wireless. Out of the box it was busted. Rather frustrated with that, I flashed DD-WRT (so easy to do) using this guide: http://nearlydeaf.com/?p=1109 , and I could not be happier. When using that guide, if you have serial # beginning with 12, flash the german firmware, then go here to get the webflash bin : [...] downloads and go to this path for the latest:[...]. Done and enjoy!Sidenote: I'm actually using an ssh session right now through firefox to write this!

This router works, but delivers less than expected for its price range.Using as is, out of box, is not possible. I had to update the firmware and change the wireless channel to be able to have wireless devices working without connection drops every day.Even after that, about every fifteen days I have to reboot the router as it seems it won't keep up (high latency and high package loss ratio).I also faced internet connection loss when multiple high bandwidth consuming applications were running in two different devices (e.g. download on pc and streaming on the TV).I don't recommend this product and if I could return it I would, if it weren't for my stubbornness in the first month after purchasing it thinking that I would be able to "fix" these issues.

I would have rated this lower had it not been for the fact that I am using it in an unusual manner, so my results may not be typical. I had purchased a TP-Link WL TL_WR841N router to make a wireless bridge to my printer. When it could not form a wireless bridge with my existing wireless router, I ordered this model to act as a wireless access point behind the first router.I find that heavy loads cause it to enter a state where it cannot handle large jobs. For example, after entering this state it is unable to transmit an 8 page PDF to the printer, only the first page makes it through. At first, the problem just appeared to be with heavy wireless loads, then I found it occurring with heavy loads on the wired connections. I ended up getting an additional switch to replace it for wired connections. The WR1043ND sits on a branch from the new switch, serving the printer and some light laptop use.

Хорошо
I previously gave this unit a rating of poor because of apparent intermittent failure. Subsequently, however, I was able to determine that the intermittent failure was not the fault of the TP-Link WR1043ND router, but rather software issues in a peripheral piece of equipment linked to the router. Once this problem was identified and the software issue in the peripheral gear was resolved, the TP-Link functioned flawlessly and continues to function flawlessly. This router also has very good range, extending from the office in my house all the way to the master bedroom at the other end of the house and is much more powerful than my prior Belkin router in the same price class. My apologies to TP-Link for the prior review. I had to set the record straight.
