Bought this to use along side Uverse since they don't use wireless N. Also to use with a TPLINK repeater that would lose connection with the Uverse router. This will periodically require rebooting, as well as the repeater. Don't know how common that is with other brands or if it's due to the Uverse. It's very fast when all's well, it's wired speed on the LAN is 1.0Gbps.

Works as good as the others made by belkin and linksys and all the others but without the brand name. great product for a great price! and with Amazon Prime package came very quick! I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I reprogrammed the TL-WR1043ND with dd-wrt. Works great! I would recommend this router. If the extra long 10 db Wi-Fi antennas actually fit it, I'd give it 5 stars.

ever time i get on my laptop or my tv its like a clould is in the way and i cant get internet from it but i pick up the router and when i go to one end from the house i barly get router recption from it and it become very slow and when i have both laptop and tv on like hulu puls it all the time frezzes and it get verey slow and iv got road runner to for both i had a time wonner cable come out and they sead its the router DONT BUY IT

It is easy to install and easy to operate. I have not reset this machine since I have install it two months ago, even my area has beenblacken out twice.

I got this router a few days ago. I used it a day or so with the factory flash, I noticed it was freezing just a tad. I installed Openwrt on it and it is as stable as ever. I have 2 buffalo whr-hp-g300n router and neither is as stable as the TP-Link. The range is very good on it. I have serveral walls in our home and it cuts through them all.I will buy TP-Link again when I need more wireless items.

I was a bit skeptical of buying a TP-Link router because its a Chinese company, even though I had many people recommend TP-Link. I took a chance and bought the 1043ND and I'm so glad I did.I've gone through many routers (I feel like the burn out every year or two) and this is by far the fastest router I've used. I have a Belkin N thats pretty fast but this is even faster. I pull download speeds from the router of at least 100mbps wireless (over an N laptop) and around 50mbps for a G laptop. Because the router has a gigabit lan connection, I can pull 1000mbps wired to the desktop. In other words, since most peoples internet isn't faster than 10mbps right now, this is plenty fast for the daily user. I like the speed for streaming, its nice to finally be able to stream HD Movies wirelessly without choppy video or buffering... It's GreatThe real reason I bought a new router was because my other primary Netgear router was randomly dying, attribute it to age if you want but it was annoying having to constantly reset the router, with the TP-Link I've solved my problem, haven't had any issues thus far.If you're like me, and worried about it not being a "brand name" and a Chinese company, don't worry. It's a good router, and worth the money!EDIT:Just found out this little problem with the router. If you're like me and live in an apartment that provides internet to every bedroom separately and live with roommates, just know that having two of these routers near each other (within 20 feet in my case) causes them to drop signal and stop broadcasting, usually one wins out over the other; it's annoying. Luckily the friend that bought the second router was within the return period so he was able to return his TP-Link 1043nd for another router, all is good again.EDIT:After 1.5 years of use this router finally started dying. I had to reset it once every 2 days which was a pain. Lucky for me the router does come with a 2 year warranty and Amazon handled everything in the replacement, all I had to do was send back the broken unit once the new one arrived, very easy.

Being the type of consumer that relies heavily on reviews I wanted to make sure to share my experience with this product. I bought it because of the ports, range and speed capability. Here are my pros and cons.Pros - reasonable price, easy to understand instructions, easy to assemble and setup and lives up to the stated performance.Cons - None!

I've been using this wireless for almost two years. It is an excellent wireless in every respect, except for one.Range.I have the device set to transmit on HIGH power. I am in one of two locations when I use it. The first is less than 10 feet from the wireless and the second is about 60 feet away, with three walls between.At the close location several of my neighbors deliver stronger signals to my laptop than my 1040ND and it drops my connection about once every half hour. At the second location my connection yo-yo's like a top and frequently disconnects, as often as once a minute.I leave the wireless on 24/7 for convenience so we can use other devices. Recycling the power does not help.The only reason I haven't replaced it is because I am searching for a wireless with native IPv6 capability (not tunneling, I don't need a wireless to do that). As soon as I find an affordable IPv6 device this one is going into the trash.

I bought this router and installed DD-WRT. Now this router has a multitude of options and can compete with much more expensive systems. I cannot comment on the STOCK software of this device. However, the hardware has served its purpose well and provides good coverage in my entire 1,200 SQ. FT apartment.

thought this would suffice to replace my ancient airport, boy was i wrong this junk didn't do much at all dropped the signal all the time and i had it returned, damned junk....

I have to regularly power cycle this router. It loses connectivity with my modem at least 5 times per week, for no good reason. I guess it's good that a simple power cycle gets it back in good order, but eventually this thing is going to break down. I would not recommend this router.

This is the newest chipset that works with dd-wrt, and TP-LINK makes some decent hardware. The power is not as strong as my 1W ubiquity ap but hey, it's ok indoors.

I have now purchases two of these routers. You cannot beat it for the money, I have tried! I have looked long and hard to find something that could match up to this device pound for pound. Nothing comes close.For me the best part of this router is the built in Gigabit, I do a lot of Video editing, and share files constantly. The built in Gigabit is such a nice feature, I dont have to mess around with adding in a gigabit switch to my home network.I do have one complaint, it does not have builtin VPN server support. This is easily correct by installing the DD-WRT 18777 firmware. Please to not think that I am stating the the TP-LINK firmware is bad, it just does not have everything that I need. Other than the VPN server, it is a great piece of software, but DD-WRT is just better.I will continue to buy this, and other TP-LINK products, they can't be beat for the price and the quality.

Received this product right away, within 2 days, so no complaints in this department.But on to the product itself: It took a while to get the router up and running. Longer than I anticipated.The router worked fine the first day or two, but after that it decided to randomly not work for half an hour or so. Restarting the device or connected my computer to it via cable usually helped.After calling the tech hotline, where people barely speak any English, I updated the firmware and changed some settings. It seems to work a little bit better now, but there are still times when the router is slow or wireless internet just won't work.I wouldn't buy this again and I will stay away from TP Link products in the future.

the default firmware on this router is utter crap. admin panel does not work after several hours and wifi disconnects clients when doing high speed transfers! (not only the connection but removes the client from the network!)I already tried upgrading, don't buy this piece of crap!!!

Easy to setup. Signal is better then previous router. Increased speed on both the wired and wireless network. I have 4 to 8 devices connected daily and have not had any issues.

This does everything we needed. We just moved into a townhouse and were having weak-no signal on the basement floor and bedrooms. Now that we have this we have great signal throughout the entire house.
