i thought 3 antennas would make this thing super strong.but i still get dead spots upstairs (this is in the router closet).so now i installed a 2nd router upstairs.

As per other reviews it would not install off the enclosed disc,however the enclosed instructions provided all the necessary information needed for installation. It has worked perfectly and has performed likewise

I'm very happy with this router.It needs to send a signal 65 feet, passing through 6 walls, and it does so with 60-80% strength.Set-up was also very easy. I was up and running in 10 minutes, and I have never set up a router before.Plus, the price is very good!

I got this on May 25 and installed on the same day. Setup was easy and I updated it with the latest firmware.I mainly used this as a wired router because of Gigabit feature (plus I have a 8 port Gigabit Switch). I don't care about the wireless since every room in my house has a wired outlet and has an AP for mobile devicesThe problem was that every 2 to 3 days (I marked it on the calendar) the internet connection would dropped and I had to reboot the router to fix it. I did the hard reset several times and re-configure it, but it did not help. (I am experienced IT engineer with MS degree in Computer Science)My old router is Dlink 615 and I had used it for more than 3 years; never had this kind of problem - so this was not my ISP issue.I read the review before I bought it and understood the risk - just did not think this would happen. I am returning it.

I bought this router a couple weeks ago based on good reviews received. However, my experience so far in the last two weeks is not consistent with those reviews.I have two laptops. One is wired to this router and the second one (an ASUS EEE PC901) runs wireless through the router when my wife is using the wired one. I am only using the wireless for one hour daily at most. This new router has dropped connection twice in the last two weeks. Fortunately, it re-connected itself within 1 minute or two. My worry is that it may happen again when I am doing online banking. I have used my second laptop for two years when I travel oversea or visit my family out of town. It has never had any disconnection issue. It appears this disconnection issue is in this new router. I am considering to return it to AMAZON.Another issue was the installation instructions described in the guide are conflicting with the sticker taped on the ports where it says "Please run the CD first". If you follow the instructions in the guide, your modem, router and laptop are supposed to be powered off when you reach this step in the installation guide. So it would be difficult to run the CD with your laptop powered off. Besides, both the guide and CD never mention when to turn on the modem and router. I followed the CD with modem and router powered off. Then an error ocurred for no connection obviously becausez the router and modem were still powered off.Update after 11 months of usage1. The first issue mentioned above still happens. It only happens once for every system turn-on, so I decided to keep the router.2. Yesterday all of a sudden I was not able to watch any videos in websites that use Youtube. The video screen would show a black box with no play button to click. Initially I thought it was Youtube problem because all my 3 computers (1 desktop and two laptops) stopped working with Youtube. All other internet functions are still ok such as email, web search, etc. It is just the Youtube that has issue. I went to my daughter's house later in the evening and used her laptop and had no issue at all with her laptop on youtube. I gladly assumed Youtube fixed the problem and was back on line. After I came home and found out that I still had the same problem on all three computers. I then borrowed her laptop and brought it to my house. Guess what. Her laptop now does NOT work in my house. Assuming this was an internet issue I called Time Warner (my internet carrier) and they checked and re-set my cable modem and saw no issue with their signal. The Time Warner rep asked me to connect my desktop directly to the cable modem bypassing the TP-LINK wireless router. The problem went away!!. Once I re-connected through this wireless router the problem came back. It is apparent my TP-Link wireless router has stopped video streaming. I tried to call TP-Link customer service. The recording operator said none of the customer service reps are available and asked to call later and hung up. I guess I will try to call them again. Or maybe I should just buy another brand of router.

todo bien el producto llego sin fallas, sin desperfectos y completo, ya lo he tenido funcionando durante varios d?as y sin ninguna novedad, lo ?nico que hizo que le bajara la calificaci?n y que es muy importante para mi, es la falla del software de conexi?n a los dispositivos compartidos por el router usando Windows 7, que espero que pronto se resuelva

This router works ok, it continually kicks iPads off the network. It is not consistently reliable. I would recommend that a person be careful when purchasing this product.

The router worked fine for 5 months, unfortunately it was hit by the WAN port bug, had to purchase another router.

I got this router specifically for putting DD-WRT on, however the router that I was shipped is a new firmware V 1.9 and DD-WRT will not work on it. You can upload it fine and everything seems fine but the WAN port has been disabled, after much hassling many people have found workarounds but I haven't been able to get any of them to work. Hold off on this router until DD-WRT etc specifically supports V 1.9.

not what i was told it was it say you can use the usb port to run a wireless printer not the case can not trun the usb port on or down load a fix for this sucks!!!!!!!!!!

1. First router was defective...replaced2. Second router took forever to setup...was ridiculously difficult.3. Range is not much better than my cheap DIR-615 d-link router broadcasting only on G4. This POS drops connections on a weekly basis and takes FOREVER to rebootThe only reason I bought this hunk of junk were because of it's high rating/low price...but this is just another cheap junk router.

I purchased this router for a house my wife and I are renting. It has 3 additions so the wireless has to go through 3 insulated ( at one point outside) walls, well it doesn't do the job to well. I was hoping paying the extra would be worth it but it doesn't show. It doesn't have the range I was hoping for. Other then that it works fine. I installed DD-WRT on it before even using it with the original firmware.If your looking for range not your router.If your looking for a good all around router find one cheaper.

Great product with lot of options. It is easy to manage.Installing new version of the software is bit confusing. Other than that everything is nice.

Had this for a few weeks and has been solid. I have not tried the stock firmware as I loaded DDwrt when I got it. It has been solid so far.

I installed this in a concrete and cinderblock, two story home and have a good signal everywhere.Guest mode would have been nice, but I can live without it.

35Mbps through wifi to the internet from a floor away.. still have some issues of going through walls but not too bad.. some devices are hard to connect most work..dont use the qss its stupid

The installation process was a bit of a challenge (and I even read the instructions). You really had to stick with it. It took me about 3 days to get everything running correctly. I had to do a good deal of web research to find the help I needed.However, now that it's installed, it's solid, gives me a nice, fast connection with far fewer disconnects than my previous router.

This thing is a piece of junk. Don't buy it. You may be tempted by the low price and claims of wide coverage and high speeds, but don't believe it. I live in a standard brick home built in the 1970's, and this router has trouble penetrating any walls past a distance of 20 or 30 ft. The instructions are obviously bad translations. The router gets very hot during use. It frequently drops connections and has to be reset. Save your money, save yourself lots of time and frustration. Buy something else - anything else.

I have no complaints with the functionality of this item but you do have to power it down once and awhile because it locks up and won't allow any connections.

This router is complete garbage. I spent $70 on this thing back in August of 2010. It worked fine at first, but then I noticed that our internet was slowing down and we were having some issues. I assumed it was our ISP, but every time we hooked a computer straight into the modem, the problems went away. After a quick power cycle of the equipment everything started working again.And then the problems came back. This router seems to degrade in quality the longer you have it. Now when I power cycle, the problems come back about a minute afterwards. I've reset the router back to factory defaults and upgraded all the firmware, but this router just refuses to work like any normal router should.To top it all off, the Asia-based customer support center is useless. If you call and manage to get someone who can actually speak comprehensible English, they still don't know how to help other than recommending that you reboot the router or reset to factory defaults. Thanks, but I've done that already.The TP-Link website says, "TP-LINK is built on quality both in product and especially in service. We aim to provide the best products that we possibly can and support those products with a service that reciprocates that same amount of quality that we strive to provide our customers," but this is nothing more than words on a website. Neither their products nor their customer support are of quality.Avoid this router like the plague.
