I received this item and couldn't wait to hook it up. The first problem I encountered was that it came with a mini CD and my Mac does not take a mini CD. So we tried to set it up manually, forget it! I got stuck somewhere in the middle and called tech support twice,( of course they don't speak english well at all! so what good are they, they couldn't help me, so I called my internet service provider and he got it working but not well, it was very slow and was messing up my Java program. So then I had a friend copy the mini CD onto a full sized CD only to find out it was in windows format and wouldn't work on my MAC anyway. WHAT A PAIN! So back it went. Of course I can't review how well it works cause I never really got it configured right, everyone else seems to like it. But if your a Mac owner the apple technician recommended the linksys or netgear router systems. So back went the TP link and I have ordered the linksys. The attributes ratings I left are according to my bad experience with the system, but maybe you'll have better outcome than I did.

After searching around for awhile and reading about other's experiences, I decided to go with TP-Link. That turned out to be a great decision! Out of the box, 15 minute install, great interface with more customization than I'll need and streaming HD video wirelessly without a glitch! There's no reason to spend twice the $ for Linksys, Netgear, D-link or others with the same specs. This is one great router for the money and it has a USB port for NAS if you are so inclined.

My setup includes several PCs, Wireless N for laptops and streaming to media player. I also have USB attached portable hard drive acting as a NAS device.This router is great and I would highly recommend it. It is easy to use and works well except one major issue.This router has issues with steaming files from attached USB storage onto media player. Rarely (maybe once a week) it completely locks up during the steaming process and will need a hard reboot (pull power cord). This only happens when streaming from USB attached storage -- if and when this issue is resolved this would get 5 stars

I bought this wireless router because of the features and the reviews. It is a good thing I did. This is an excellent router.Pros:Ease of Setup - I got this working in less than 10 minutes. Just turn off your Cable modem and computer. Connect the router to the modem using the included cable. Power up everything. Then put in the CD and in a few minutes you are done. That includes setting up the WPA2 security.Range - My previous Wireless Routers(Apple,Linksys,Zyxel) could only give me at most 61% from one end of my house to the other. This gives me 85%. That is going through 3 Bedrooms and furniture.Speed - I used to get 12 Mbps with my previous router. I just tested it now and I now have 19.89 Mbps download speed from the same site I always test with.Price - Excellent value for money.Network USB Hardrive - You can easily share a USB hard drive. You now have no limit to how much videos you can download and games you can play. Share the drive with your entire family.Cons:Not Dual Band - It isn't dual band, but i don't need it so it does not bother me.Summary:This is a real find. Never heard of this company before, but I am very impressed with this product.

It's been almost 1 month since I purchased this router, I have to say this is the first wireless routers I have used without a lock. I have used several linksys, netgears, 2wires, Belkins before and all of them gave some problems.I'm currently using it in a workload environment, loads of traffic going on, 4 iMacs, several cellphones, and 3 PCs are conneceted to it. I have it setup to 40mhz and N only and in several devices I'm able to get the 300mbps promised speeds.Overall I'm very happy with the router, the only "bad" will be that it cannot print money..lol..jk..

This WiFi Router provides me with 4 Ethernet ports & a strong WiFi signal in my home, which is just what I need as my iPhone is filled with WiFi enabled Apps, but gets miserable 3GS signal in my area from AT&T. Be sure when you do go to the manufacturer's firmware update link:[...], which provides updates every few months, that you totally review (and manually reset) the defaults, which default to 'naked security' settings. You'll want to reset a) username and b) password, and c) timezone and d) SSID (the name the router uses when it's broadcasting) and e) the SECURITY level to as high as whatever iPhone or iPad or laptop or other device you use in WiFi, and d) a password for this higher security. Then look for the 'reboot button'. This is not the same as pulling the power plug and starting again. The 'reboot button' when pressed takes maybe a minute to update the firmware - be sure you don't unplug the power during that firmware updating, or you may make your router unusable. Anyway - it's a very nice WiFi Router for a modest price.

I've had this router up and running since January, it was super easy to setup, and has worked flawlessly. The range is very good, and I like the feature of plugging in a usb hardrive so I can access that drive from any computer on the router.

OK ... i have had this router for 65 days, for the last 4 weeks, it has been acting weird.. needing rebooted... at first it was once every few days.. now it is 10+ times a day... i call Amazon.. "TOO BAD".. its out side of the 30 day window.. ..I call the vendor tech support (in china) and after many emails, and phone calls.. its deemed to be defective, and i can pay for the return shipping (no cross ship) to the Manufacture in California, and they will ship me a new one... so I'm without a router for about 2 weeks, and I have to pay to ship it there.. WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!! its not even 90 days old.. and now i have to pay to get a new one..Edited..After receiving repaired devices, they have worked well as AP's , I do not use the router portion of them any more...

Excellent Router. Substituted a not-so-old Linksys, but the difference is awesome. It was also the easiest to connect router I've ever had and did not cause any unnecessary interruptions or needed any extra port-forwarding. I also noticed the improve in the range and speed when using the iPad remote to control iTunes and also in the PS3 wifi connection. A plus is that you can connect a HD to it via USB (it should have been an eSata, though) and use it as Network Attached Storage.

The TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND router has a wireless connection that consistently hangs, requiring a reboot. This is on the original firmware. Any other features of the router are worthless if it can't maintain a connection.This happened on two separate routers I received. If you do a search for "wr1043n hangs", you'll see other people having this problem too. Caveat emptor.

i was looking to buy a 2.4 ghz router with usb and a fast cpu with wireless n capabilities. this router was a great price for its bang. cpu= 400 mhz, ram= 32 mb, flash= 8 mb. its stock firmware is great and the ability to use a usb hard drive makes it even useful for my home network. i haven't had any issues so far. it is performing even better than expected. i am anxiously waiting for tp link to come out with a true dual band wireless router which i will be eager to buy. great product and performance. the detachable anthenas are a plus if i ever need to upgrade them for better signal...

I really wanted to like this router. The price vs features was great; 1GB Ethernet, 300mbs N wireless, and plenty of options. I am using a combination of G & N wireless equipped laptops (XP & Windows 7). The wireless would just quit working on all computers at random intervals. Indicators on each PC showed the wireless connection as up but you could NOT connect to the internet. I had to power-cycle this router several times times a day. I spent several hours resetting the router, tweaking the options plus I replaced my Qwest DSL modem. Still no luck. I got tired of it after a few days and returned the router for a refund.

The Call Center communication is poor and if there is need for assistance the TP LINK computers are programmed to block your phone requeasts indefinitely. It is not worth it.TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit RouterIt is NOT dual band with high speed.

I read the other reviews before making the purchase and am glad I did. This router performs very well, extremely fast startup when powered on. High quality. Great price for a dual n band. A couple glitches setting it up, however it worked well once setup.

+ Quick Setup with default software+ Strong signal in my apartment, among countless other neighboring wifi nets+ Supports DDWRT, though I haven't tried this out yet. default software is pretty good= wish it had a print server rather than the USB storage option.

We decided to upgrade from Wireless G to N for enhanced speed and range. We initially bought the Belkin N+ router, but found it to be very unstable and unreliable. After returning that, we thought we'd splurge on the Cisco Valet Plus--what an overpriced, underperforming piece of junk that was. But the third time was the charm--this TP-Link router has excellent range, was very easy to set up (except that the mini-CD doesn't work in a Macbook), and performance is great.I would definitely recommend this router--fast, reliable and affordable.

I just got my TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router, and I love it. Configuration for my medium complex SOHO network was just easy. I try to use all my WiFi devices (3), and everything work smooth. I hope I will have a chance soon to watch some HD video over this link.Thanks to Amazon and TP-Link !!!

Easy to setup. I installed it in the basement of my 3-story town home. The computer on the top floor has no problem connecting. Remember to download the update and install it on the router. I have not used the USB port yet. The wired ports are gigabyte ports as well.I have had two different Netgear routers die suddenly on me and could be revived. I hope this lasts longer. I relied on other's feedback and I am happy with my decision.

I bought this to replace belkin wireless N+ router (you can see my review for the belkin N+). The signal from may laptops to belkin would vary between 1Mbps - 48Mbps, and often losing the signal all together. This is with using built in wireless G. I added belkin wireless N adapter and signal would then range from 11Mbps - 120Mbps, but far fewer drops. I replaced with this TP-Link TL-WR1043 and after 1 week, I get no wireless drop outs at all. My laptop with built in wireless G consistently reports 54Mbps and my laptop with the belkin N adapter generally reports 120Mbps (sometimes dropping to 60Mbps, sometimes as high as 150Mbps).I should note that the TP-Link router is in the same exact location where my old belkin was, and my laptops are in the same exact location. So I have not varied distance nor obstacles between router & laptops. My laptops are ~75 feet from router in separate building, nearest neighbor ~.75 miles, so no change in interference from neighbors.Now if only I could figure out how to get 300Mbps. I have tried from several other locations, but best I ever get is 150Mbps. But as this greatly exceeds my connection to ISP, it is not really a big issue. Oddly enough, if I move closer to the router, I get slower connection (~30Mbps) with N adapter but still get 54Mbps with build-in wireless G adapter.

I bought this product because of the low price and good reviews but wow was that a bad choice. Set up was easy but after a restart it never worked again. By the way I returned it to amazon and the next one did the same exact thing! Avoid!

The setup was easy, everything went smoothly. Until I unplugged the wireless router. It stopped working after I replugged the power back in. It took about 2 days to figure out what went wrong; I didn't assume that unplugging the power would change the settings. Other than that, good router.
