I wore my brand new PC151 headset almost eight hours the first day I got them. I thought they might hurt my ears a lot because I wear glasses, but they didn't. I felt a little pressure after eight hours, but that's all; no outright pain like I have felt with other headsets. Admittedly, I have a smaller head than most men, but like I said, other headsets have caused me pain and this set did not.I'm no audiophile, but for me, the sound is very good. I thought the bass might suffer, but it doesn't. Also, the fact that it's not "open" (like the PC161), the sound doesn't bother my co-workers in the cube farm when I crank the volume.A good purchase in my opinion.

Mine broke after about 6 months. The microphone broke off. The plastic feels cheap and it just doesn't feel like a $100+ pair of headphones. The sound is decent, but nothing great in my opinion. Ive had $20 Walmart headphones that sounded better to me. I like a lot of bass. When I play video games, I want explosions to rumble. You wont get much depth from these things

I have tried several headphones for gaming and these are by far the best I have used. The sound quality is clear and crisp. The headphones are comfortable even when worn for hours where most start to hurt your ears over time. The microphone is positioned close enough to your mouth to be heard but far enough away so there is no distortions in the sound of your speach. If you are looking for a great pair of gaming headhones I would recommend these as about the best out there.

We've been using Sennheiser sets for years, but I think they have been victims of their own success. I wanted a lightweight headset for travel. This headset feels and looks cheaply made, more along the lines of a $15 store-brand headset than a $50 one, and the mic was dead on arrival. (Tested on multiple machines, OS's and applications; and no, there is no 'mute' button we were overlooking--the mic was dead.) While I realize that my getting a dead mic doesn't mean you will get a dead mic, I think this is an indication that Sennheiser may just not be the brand to go with right now, as manufacturing quality is obviously slipping and they are riding on their past rep. It happens. I'd recommend skipping this one and going with something by Logitech or Razer.

Pros- 2yr warranty- Well built- Mic arm is durable- Heavy duty cord- Good sound quality. I had to manually boost the bass, but it was good afterwards.Cons- Tight fit. Feels like it squeezes your head a bit and will give you "headphone hair" due to the weight.- Earphones cover your ears and there's not much in the way of ventilation, causing your ears to get hot after extended use.- I bought 2 and one had the microphone stop working after a few months, but the repair and turn around was very quick and easy.- The volume dongle doesn't have a very good range on the low end.Overall: They're slightly uncomfortable and they definitely aren't a light headset, although this is to be expected from the headset design. Otherwise, they're well built and with the price dropping on them like crazy, not a terrible buy. I definitely wouldn't spend the $230 price tag the Sennheiser website has listed for these, but Amazon has some good deals.

After going through multiple pairs of headsets, I was told by a friend to test these out. Most headsets I had were either too tight or the sound was terrible, but these solve both of those issues for me. I can wear these for hours at a time and they don't bother me a bit. As other people have said, the mic works great and clear. Having them for almost a year now, they're pretty durable seeing that I've run them over with my chair and tossed them around occasionally, though I wouldn't say I've been brutal on them. Overall, I'd say they're great for the price; definitely worth the money.

Been a pc gamer for over 15 yrs & these headphones have been the best I have used so far. I have 5.1 surrond sound speakers on my pc & since getting this headset for Christmas I have not used my speakers. they kill 80% + of outside noise. ( which was what I was after ) They do have a break in peroid & the sound quality has improved over the last 2 weeks. Mike is non-removable but can be moved up & out of the way if needed. The best price I found was on Amazon. You can really hear details in games like COD that I never heard with my 5.1 surround system. Be warned you will not hear any outside noise while using in gameplay. (phones, doorbells,wife yelling, etc...) lol.. I am sure you can find a better headset for more money but I have found this product the "Best bang for the buck".

I love these, I've been using on the ear type headsets for years and also wear glasses, so needless to say confort is important while gaming. The only complaint I have is that if you lean back they will try and fall off, but I see this as a trade off that I'm willing to make for no ear pain. The sound quality is great, the cord is nice and long, and it does not give you the oppressive feeling of a headset.

My have tried many sets over the years from the name brand to the non. These are by far the best the only weakness maybe i got a bad one is that the mic quite after 3 months maybe i stepped on them dont know but the mic stopped working. however i got another set and never had the same prob the sound quality is great and u feel like ur in ur own little word and u dont have to yell into the mic i got in a lot of trouble for that very reason. just watch out for the mic its a little weak in the connection to the head set its self.

Great phones. The build quality is good. They look cool, they seem like they will last quite a while, and they fold up so they are semi-portable. They are very comfortable. The mic is awesome. The rubber on it seems like it is very high quality and the mic can be bent closer or further from your mouth. The sound quality is really good, but the bass and midrange are terrible. Seem like they would be well-suited for classical, but with rap and metal these phones leave me wanting. However, there is a very easy modification that can be done to these phones that is said to increase the bass and midrange output drastically. To the point that they are actually up to par with their price range. [...]overall, this is a great quality headset, but I expect much better sound quality from a headset that costs over a hundred bucks.

I bought this to replace a Logitech ClearChat Pro USB headset (the cord ripped out when it was caught in a drawer, sigh) and was very disappointed when I plugged it into my sound port (this is not a USB headset).However, after I purchased the Syba USB Stereo Audio Adapter, the sound was compatible for both the earphones and the microphone.Overall I still liked the Logitech better.

This is an awesome headset! I originally bought a Megalodon, but the mic was horrible. I returned it and bought this headset instead. I am very happy with my purchase. While I prefer the comfort and design of the Megalodon, the Sennheiser is still very comfortable and sounds wonderful. Not to mention the Sennheiser is a lot cheaper.The Sennheiser headset fits very comfortably. I have a big head, and it sits on it well. The ear pieces are also comfortable. They don't make your ears sweaty and sticky after prolonged use, and they don't wear out your ears after gaming with for hours.This headset has wonderful sound. It is very clear; both incoming and outgoing. The mic is really great for gaming and sounds good.

The sound quality on this headset is excellent with one caveat. Since they are closed backed they can sound a bit echoey, but I don't think you can get around that without having open backed headphones. The microphone quality is also excellent.

These are Sennheiser headphones; they are expected to be made of quality components, and provide quality audio. Sennheiser is generally known for those two things.These cans are a major exception to the norm. I'm not even sure where to begin...The audio quality is absolutely *horrid*. I'm comparing them to Sony MDR-7506, MDR-V6, and MDR-V600 phones, a US$30 "gaming" pair from Creative Labs (who normally makes horrible hardware), and high-end professional headphones like the Audio-Technica ATH-A900s.The audio of the PC350 consists predominantly of treble and mid-range. I hate excessive bass, but these cans have absolutely none. Adjusting my soundcard settings to make up for it made no difference; it just ended up sounding compressed and washed-out.The cord reminds me of the aforementioned Sony cans -- if you adjust it in any way, or it rubs up against something (your desk, arm, shirt, whatever), you'll hear it -- loudly -- in the left headphone. And with an in-line adjuster that consists of complete and total plastic... do the math.The phones and the padding area appear to be made for people with huge, abnormally-sized heads. If you have such a head, these will fit you perfectly, and you'll probably appreciate them. If you have a normally-sized head, you'll find the phones don't press up against your head enough (they're comfortable, but they could use a little more tension) -- putting my hands over them and pressing them against my head improved the audio significantly (but still no bass). I could literally fit one of my fingers between the cushioning and my head -- imagine how that affects the quality of sound...The packaging is an atrocity. You're probably paying US$20 just for all the plastic, ties, and unnecessary plastic bags. Even the in-line adjuster was wrapped with a plastic bag -- it's sealed, you fools! The box reminds me of a Rubix product, taking a good 10 minutes to figure out. I doubt any of the plastic used is recyclable either -- sad.The only good thing is the microphone, which does sound clear and crisp as advertised.In general, this product is just another example of marketing of garbage trinkets/gadgets towards younger generation gamers. The higher price tag does not make these better. If you want a good set of headphones, try Audio-Technica's ATH-A900 cans -- which lack a mic, of course.

Excellent product and by far the best price I could find. Fast shipping, everything arrived as expected, great transaction!I'm using this headset primarily for leading online training via VOIP. I've been using it several hours a day, everyday, for the past few weeks and I'm impressed. Great comfort, you nearly forget you're wearing them. Great for blocking out outside noise, both from the mic and your ears. I'm also using to create recordings, narrations for presentations, and they're working great for that as well.Overall, great headset that I'd recommend to anyone. :)

In the last few years, I have bought quite a few headsets, but this is hands down the best.I was surprised at how much more sound is isolated out compared to the previous (yet still high-end) headphones I had purchased.My head is fairly large, as are my ears, but I find it comfortable and not overly hot even after many hours of use.They are excellent for Skype or for Team-based games.Ignore the rest, and get the best.

As stated by some other reviewers this headset has excellent sound quality. Unfortunately because of the high resistance it requires a headphone amplifier to realize it. Without an amplifier the sound is crystal clear but anemic. The microphone performed better than average but was not ultra-sensitive.

I'm using this headset to talk over the Internet with services such as Skype and Goto Meeting. The ear pieces completely surround the ear cutting out almost all of the other noises in the room which allows you to focus on your conversation. The material appears to be high quality and feels comfortable.I gave this 5 stars because I tried out 2 other head sets but rejected them because they were very uncomfortable and couldn't muffle out backgroud noise.

So far so good, about what I'd expect from these guys. The sound quality is nice although I'm spoiled by my previous headset that had a volume control and mute switch on the chord. I couldn't use the USB adapter because I had way too many problems with Vista and my lousy on board sound, but I don't mind the analog plugs. It just took me a bit to figure this out.I use this for gaming, wearing it for hours at a time. I wear glasses on top of this and nonetheless comfort is pretty good. Only once have I felt a need to take them off and give the ears a rest. Then again I'm used to wearing headsets.What I wanted was the best quality I can find within the price range and I'm very pleased with this so far. I would definitely recommend it, we'll see if that's still the case a few months from now.

I thought that an over-the-ear design would be great. It is not.The headphones push with a decent amount of pressure against your head. If you wear glasses, like I do, it pushes the frames into the side of your head, quickly becoming quite uncomfortable. Outside sound isolation wasn't great, either. I've since tried other headphones (from Sony and Bose) at Best Buy that sit on the ear with nice padding, and they do much more to isolate and keep sound out.And as some of the reviewers have pointed out, the sound is not actually very good on this set. Don't get me wrong, it's ok, but I expected a lot more given the price of these things. It could be because headphones like these require a headphone amplifier to actually function well, but many of the frequencies seemed to drop out, resulting in uncrisp, unclear sound.I'd go with somethign else.

I like this headset. It's not super-light, but it's not too heavy for extended wear, either. I'm a casual gamer and I listen to a lot of music and videos, and this works well for that. The sound quality on the mic is great, I had 3 headsets from Logitech before this and they all broke.I wish the cord were a bit sturdier, but I think I'll still get several years of good use out of it.

These headphones are simply amazing. I forge they are on most of the time, and if you play FPS you definitely have an advantage. I have played CS for 8 years 7 1/2 of them competitive, and i know what good headphones are. If you have the money to dish out for some REALLY good headphones i most definitely support Sennheiser, and there products are super reliable.-Jared

If you don't have a very good sound card, don't buy this headset.I have an M Audio sound card which is very good but these headphones sound lousy.I wrote to Sennheiser and here is their response:Hello.Thank you for your inquiry and for contacting us.The PC 350 was designed as a high-end companion for premium gamingsoundcards, so, if plugged into one of the seamingly countlesssoundcards out there that cannot handle a higher impedanceheadphone, then you may want something better.If you do buy them you will need an additional amplifier and you can figure on spending another couple of hundred bucks on that.You need a high voltage amp for high impedance headphones.

I am not kidding when I can say I've gone through about 12 heatsets before I came to this one. This is the 2nd most expensive one I've tried.ALL the other ones have broken.This is a quality build and well worth the investment.My only "WTF" moment with these is the fact that the inline volume control only REDUCES the volume, it doesn't even come close to actually turning it off! What? *shrug*

Amazing sound quality. Some people have complained about a lack of bass with these headphones. I'm using a Creative X-fi Extreme Gamer sound card, and there is plenty of bass. The highs are a bit more emphasized, but you have to expect that because these headphones are made for gaming first and foremost. During gaming, the detailed sound quality has already made a huge difference. It's very easy to hear where your enemies are approaching from. Compared to any other gaming headset I have ever used, the PC-350 is by far the best for both comfort and sound quality. If you have a nice sound card and want or need to play your games with headphones on, this headset is a great choice. **One very important thing to note**: If you have this headset plugged into the headphone jack of a powered source, like a mini-amp or the headphone jack on an existing surround sound controller (like the one that came with my Logitech 5.1 setup) be aware that you can not have your volume in windows cranked all the way up. The headphones get very distorted with the main windows volume turned up too high, which I think is the mistake a lot of people are making. Instead, roll down your main volume in Windows to 60%, and use the volume control on the device you plugged the headphones into. This way you can get very high volume with absolutely zero distortion. I have not tried going directly into the soundcard because I'm not willing to unplug my surround speakers from the soundcard every time I wish to switch over to headphones. Also for the record, I have the in-line volume on the headset cable turned all the way up at all times. All of my volume adjustments are done with my powered speaker controller. The sound quality of these headphones is nothing short of amazing. If your sound is not totally crisp and clean, you dont have it set up properly.

I have used quite a few pairs of high end headphones over the years, mostly for gaming. I bought these after reading all the great reviews online from both the public and a few review sites. Since everyone else seems to be raving about the pros, I will get right to the downsides that I see.CONS:Does not cancel out surrounding noise really whatsoever, but to make things much much worse, all sounds it telegraphed up the headphone wire, so any time you move the sound of the wire brushing your shirt is heard in the headphones. Of course if you are in the middle of a bunch of things blowing up you won't notice, but if you are lurking around waiting for someone to pop up it will drive you insane. It sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard at times, it is truly very very noticeable.No low-end at ALL in these headphones. I have a pair of older Sony Studio Monitors (about $ 60 on e bay) and was used to those. I put these on and thought something had been muted in my audio settings. There is simply no bass whatsoever. In games where there is supposed to be deep dark music it really just doesn't cut it. For a $250 retail price, and well over $100 anywhere you look these headphones are simply not worth it.

These headphones look cool, sound great, are comfortable, and the cord is really long. There are really no down sides to these headphones. I jumped on them the other day cause a coat was covering them, they broke naturally (only something invincible would have lasted that) I sent them in and they replaced them completely. I had them already for over a year so i was stoked! Now i have brand new headphones again, an early Christmas! Awesome support and service.I highly recommend these headphones for your next and final purchase

I was the happy owner of a sennheiser 161 for like 2 years, it died because I had the bad habbit of chewing on the string when I got stressed programming. I gotta say this thing is far superior, I was worried it'd be expensive just because it looks a lot nicer and would not be much of an improvement over sennheisers $70 - 100 headsets. I was very impressed when they got here. The audio quality is not super improved from the older headsets, that's not a insult though as the cheaper ones have amazing quality. It has much more capacity for bass. The cheaper headsets sounded really bad on heavy bass parts. A lot of people think a better headset will make the bass louder or more noticeable at least, but its not the case unless you use an equalizer.PROS:The best change in my opinion is the microphone. The mics on the cheaper models were great, but this one has AMAZING noise reduction.The next best thing is the ambient noise reduction. I honestly felt like the ear pieces were like suction cups because you can feel a noticable change in pressure when you put them on and your voice even sounds different to you when you speak. It's not exactly like ear plugs but there's definitely a noticeable drop in ambient noise.The privacy is pretty good. People can't hear what your listening to when they're on your head, however the second you take them off its pretty loud even at low volumes.More bass capacity.More comfortable and nicer looking.The wire is noticeably thicker...for me to chew on =PConsStill the same cheap manual wheel to increase or lower volume. From experience these seem to break easily or cause one side of the headset to be louder than the other on certain levels.It produces a crackling sound at 98Khz output sampling rate on my soundcard. I set it to 48Khz and it fixed the issue. Other headsets didn't have this problem.It gets kinda hot around the ears.One of the previous reviewers noted that the volume wheel sucks and won't turn the sound all the way off. I gotta say it makes it really quiet. If you want to mute the sound all together you can just set a hotkey with hotkeybind, autohotkey or some other free macro software.

The many reviewers with acute ears are absolutely correct in noting the poor sound quality on this headset. This is due to its extremely high impedance, or electrical resistance, measuring in at 150 ohms. (For comparison, iPod earbuds have 16 ohms)With such high resistance, this headset will NOT sound good plugged into your PC. Unless you have, or are willing to invest in a $100 amplifier, this product is a sure waste of money. That being said, it is a great, high quality, and comfortable headset when set up properly.

This headset is perfect for gaming and sounds fantastic for music.Pros.Very comfortable can wear for hours with no problem.Sound is outstandingMicrophone works perfectWell made, sturdy.ConsNo real cons but a couple of minor points that "could" be a con for some people.These are higher than average impedance headphones (150ohms) so in order to get the best sound out of them you need a good sound card and a headphone amplifier.The Claro Halo sound card is perfect for these headphones it has a built in amplifier and powers these headphones great, you sound as if you are listening to a live concert.So if you are looking for an all around headset for gaming, VOIP, music etc then look no further, buy these.Reviewers that gave these a low rating did so out of operator error, properly powered these headphones are as good as it gets.(Edit) Nov 20th 2010. For those interested in a headset that is "Open" as opposed to closed they now have a PC360 model that is open plus they are also much lower Impedance only 50ohm so they will work with virtually any sound card.I have owned these PC350s for almost 2 years now and have had zero problems with them and they still look like brand new.Personally for gaming I prefer a close ear design and prefer the isolation that they provide.

These Sennheiser 350's are the best headsets I own. Very comfortable for hours of gaming, great sound quality. Great construction quality. Made in Germany. Very good mic, for online communications. Long cord with volume control about 3' from the headset. If you're looking at these headsets you probably already know about them. Better than any of the other stuff out there. Highly recommended. I found them online for about $170 or so.

I bought these based on the high Amazon reviews hoping that they would be a significant improvement to the earbuds I use when playing games on my Mac (namely Call of Duty 4 and World of Warcraft). They are nice headphones - I tried them on both games and got good sounds out of them. They were comfortable on my head and I didn't really notice them when playing the games which is a good thing. (I never tried the mic so can't comment on that.)But I was hoping for a truly immersive experience with a surround-sound feel. I couldn't perceive any difference from the earbuds I wear though. The sound was clear, but I didn't perceive a difference in the depth or direction of sounds that I was hoping for. And for the price, I was expecting something more.If you have a sound card that can churn out more surround-sound-like audio maybe these would be the ticket for you. They didn't for me with my existing Mac setup, so I returned them after trying them for just a couple of days.

I bought this set of earphones in part because of what other reviewers had said about the level of comfort they offer. I am familiar with the brand and was confident that the quality of the sound and microphone would be good, which they appear to be, but unfortunately the set is really not as comfortable as I was expecting. I am disappointed. The ear pads aren't very soft, or very large, and another problem is that the ear band is not adjustable enough -- my little boy can usually use other pairs, but this one remains too large for him. When I wear them, I am constantly aware of the pressure on my ears. My Logitech set that I was replacing was REALLY comfortable, with such comfortable ear pads that it was no problem to listen to music, or films, or talk on Skype, or dictate, for as long as I liked, with no discomfort. Unfortunately, I can no longer find that Logitech set in stock anywhere!

I was a little disappointed when I notice that my Sennheiser PC 166 sounded better than the PC 350. THe PC 350 lack the brightness in the treble and low in the bass. The air tight covers that go over your ear make it difficult to hear clearly what you are saying into the mike. It sounds like your talking with to cups over your ears. Sennheiser should have tested this before releasing this as a gaming head phone

I really like this headset. It is one of the better ones that I have owned. This headset beats every Logitech headset that I have owned at a cost of three times the price.Pros: 1. Great range of sound 2. It blocks out sound from outside sources. You can still hear things, but you will need to remove them to have a conversation with someone. 3. No pressure points or hot spots on your head 4. It seems to be very well built. The cords are thick in nature and fairly stiff. 5. The mic will reproduce your voice much better than most gaming headsets. 6. The headset comes with a very long cord.Cons: 1. Your ears will get warm in this headset. 2. Not really a con...But this doesn't use a USB connection. You will have the standard small input jacks both for your mic and sound.Final Thoughts: Is this headset worth it? I would say yes for myself. If you spend hours a day with this kind of head set on and you can put up with hot ears I would say go for it. If you only wear a headset every now and then or for short periods of time then I would go for a much cheaper Logitech.

I'm revising my review since this headset just stopped working. The microphone gave out and I'm disappointed that I spent so much money on this thing for it to quit working after less than two years. I recently purchased the Logitech G35's from here and they are 100% better. They are 7.1 and sound way more clear. The mic also has a nice feature where it mutes when you flip it up. Less expensive as well.

These are a great value for the money. I use them for Skyping and Instant message chats. Sound quality is excellent and the headset is quite comfortable even after long periods of time. Construction quality is good

I was pretty excited when I got these guys in the mail, but I'm completely disappointed with them. When I plugged them into my computer I was greeted by incredibly underwhelming sound. There was no bass, the audio was quiet in general, and it felt like I was listening to a small radio in a bathroom. These things require way too much power to work properly. I shouldn't have to use a headphone amplifier just to make this product work. There are better alternatives to these.
