I use a computer for several hours a day, and as I am also blind and use a screen reader and don't want to disturb others, a reasonably good headset is just part of the deal. I also maintain many long-distance relationships via Skype, so a decent microphone is important to me as well. When my last very cheap headset finally shorted out after about eight months of use, I knew I wanted to replace it with something better, but still affordable on a tight budget. I had had a Sennheiser headset once before and had been quite impressed by it, so when I saw this one for such a great price, I took a chance and bought it. For $35, I wasn't expecting just too much in the way of good sound quality, but when I first removed it from the packaging (which, unlike some other models, was very easy to do) and tested it out, I couldn't stop using it. After so many months of using a cheap, flimsy headset, I was in music heaven! By the end of my third day of using it, all my long-distance friends had commented on how much clearer I sounded during Skype calls. I couldn't be happier with it, but it may not be the right headset for everyone. Certainly if you are accustomed to top-quality, very pricey headsets, this may not be the way to go, but listed below are some hopefully more objective pros and possible cons.Pros:Excellent stereo sound, renders music and other sounds, such as those of games, very wellMicrophone gives very clear sound in Skype callsLong cord allows for freedom of movement away from the computerLightweight and comfortable for hours at a time as well as reasonably sturdyPossible cons:Microphone does not do well with recordingEarpieces rest on rather than over the ears and thus do not hold in sound wellSpeakers do not sound as if they would stand up to excessively loud and prolonged audio

Wow... Just wow... I actually started using these in place of my other set for listening to my classical music when I'm working on the computer. (they won't replace my best set for my quiet time moments of harmony but; they're about a tenth the price too...) After a few weeks of use, they sound warm, sharp but not shrill, not bright, yet full of impact. A nice tonal response all the way across. Not perfect but far from the rather crappy norm. The higher impedance of these also makes it easier on the equipment and lower on the noise (lower impedance = higher introduced noise; downside is lower power output capability from the same amp (unless it has a multi-voltage-rail type design, but that's another topic).) However, the stock on-board sound-card in one of my test rigs was more than capable of still reaching physically painful volumes without any trouble and have room left on the knob. With higher-end, more potent sound-cards or external setups, lots of room left on the knob.Still, every person hears differently so you can't go by anyone's opinions but your own. (The average person starts to have a high-frequency fall-off in their early middle age, for example. I do not (yet) but take extra special care of my hearing wearing earplugs where many people do not.) But for an SQ buff like me, these are beyond good, well into very nice. Not perfect, but what is...Those 'other' gaming sets (and honestly, I've tried them all) and other tiny-multi-speaker sets that try to do a 5.1 setup can not truly hold a candle to the sound quality of these (and you don't need those for 5.1 type sound. I play competitive FPS with these and can easily tell right where everything is without question). As for the mic; everyone continually asks me what mic I'm using cause I sound so clear and crisp and precise. Since buying these, about half of my regular competition have done the same. All with the same opinions of comfort and quality save one (He's about deaf anyhow honestly. He found them bland but he has the above for-mentioned problem to a rather extreme so he likes very bright sounding speakers to make up the difference for his actual ears. Again, just an example of human differences and how no two people will ever hear exactly the same.)Comfort, very good, not great. I can play for about 6 hours without too much problem thuogh. After that I have to take them off for a while. But I've found that to be pretty much true of all over the ear or on the ear sets. I'm worried about the longevity of the ear padding material but only time will tell that. I actually wish they had a width selector instead of just the arch effect and springs of the cups. But it's working ok. Tiny bit weak on the bottom. I've seen a few people actually strap them around to snug them up but I'm fine without that step. Doing so however does bring out the lower frequencies even more-so. So, some difference of hearing can simply be due to how they sit on your head. They are very adjustable, but.. Just that one thing missing. I've tried the strap myself, and it works great. But honestly I'm just too lazy. Still without it they are still exceptional in almost every way.It would also be nice if the mic could be switched to the other side as my hardware is on the right. Mic is on the left and so is the cabling. Cables are plenty long but... still... It would also be nice if they could collapse cup to cup to keep dust or what not out of the speaker areas, but they fold both up into the top so the speaker cups point in the same direction. Another tiny point but something to note.Volume control and mic mute are just a hair too far down the wire for me. But if you want to tuck the wire into your jacket or something for a long battle session, then it's too short so, unless they make it movable, no winners there. In the end it's very functional with almost no scratch effect and the mic mute works without the notorious bump some give ya when triggered.Even though it's generally not necessary with the good equipment, I go through a break-in period for all of my equipment before trying to rate them just to make sure any build stiffness is out and they are working normally. I also use them normally at very low volume levels due to my sensitive hearing. Even at these low volumes, they sound wonderful and that's actually saying something. The human ear will tend to 'like' louder (to a point obviously) sounds when comparing different sounds so doing comparisons at lower volumes can give you more truth to what 'you' like. A little test I like to do for myself is how quiet I still like them. Under extremely low power (volume), some speakers change their response characteristics a bit. These sing to me all the way down to 'off'.Part of my problem being a gamer but being so picky was I never liked my 'gaming' headsets. I spent way too much money trying to find a set I could live with. These are the exception. Not only can I live with them, I like them very much. To make sure my opin

I plunked down my $ for this headset only 7 short months ago, and it already petered out on me. *grimace*. The left speaker no longer works. I troubleshot all of the settings, restarted, etc to no avail and have now given the unit last rites (brought in the Priest who lives next door). This product left me in the lurch.. I have a very important project audio presentation due and I just can't afford to have my equipment fail... but fail it did.I'd like to spank Sennheiser. All they'll do about it is repair or replace but I must ship it back first. They won't ship a replacement pending my return of this dog unit.Let me say, in review of this product: Sound is very good-- great, in fact for what you pay for. But 7 months of use does not warrant the price, I'm afraid. Also, the USB plug is super-flimsy-- it wobbles in the slot and therefore gets dislodged easily. Then, you've got to play with it in order for the sound to 'take" again-- like shutting down the browser and restarting in order to get the sound back. The mic spews forth a lot of interference-- I think it happens when you brush up against the cord while you are talking (which is pretty much all the time).Maybe it's the USB setup that sucks. Think I'll try a jacked headset this time around. Conclusion: If you don't mind fiddling with the unit sometimes to get it to work and you like really decent sound but don't expect more than a few months of performance, then you'd do well by ordering this product.

My son is a gamer and needed a new headset to replace the original PC 350 Sennheiser headset we purchased back in 2009. (We had to replace that one once due to a broken cord, then the replacement eventually developed the same issue.) This "special edition" headset is a much better product in several respects. The cord is braided and seems much more durable, and the volume control is in the earcup instead of the cord, preventing him from constantly pulling on the cord to adjust the volume (which probably contributed to the cord wearing out so fast - twice.)As with the previous model, the earcups go completely around his ears, and are very comfortable for him. (He has had issues with other brands.) He also loves the setup of the mic in this model much better than the PC 350. When he slides the mic up and hears the click, it mutes it to allow privacy. With the original 350, he had to mute it at the volume control on the cord. This special edition also includes a nice, hard-sided case. This product appears to be better designed and a (hopefully) much more durable product, absolutely worth the upgrade from the original PC 350.

Very comfortable, great quality, well worth the money. I have had many different headsets including razer, corsair, logitech and others, but these are by far my favorite ive had so far, the sound quality is really nice, theyre super comfortable, I can have them on all day and wouldnt be bothered. Biggest problem I have is the noise canceling headphones are too good, I often have to take them off to have little convos on the side, while gaming, its not a huge issue after all it is the purpose of them, so they do their jobs well. Anyways, I really think you shouldnt over look these headphones, theyre really the nicest you can get in my eyes for this price range. Hopefully this review will not make you over look the chance to actually get a great headset instead of having to buy another after.

I purchased these because I have other Sennheiser products which I really like and I needed a new headset for use with Vent/Mumble.Ergonomics: To start with these are easy to use, just plug in the mic in and headphone out jacks into your computer. Programs like Vent require you to choose your input/output device which is easy enough. The cord seems long enough for a PC headset, if you needed something more than 5 feet long you might have a problem. The mic isn't reversible so it will always be on the left. The build seems solid to me, I've had mine for only a few weeks though. The mic can be bent to place it properly. The headband is adjustable and should fit most people's heads just fine. I find that the headset gets uncomfortable pretty quickly. I wear glasses which exacerbate the problem, but even when I'm not wearing my glasses these make my ears hurt.Sound: I was very pleased with the sound quality from these compared to headsets of this kind I have used in the past. They sound crisp and have reasonable range, in my opinion this type of headset generally lacks in sound quality and you shouldn't expect these to produce what over the ear headsets and ear subs produce.Microphone: The microphone produces a clear sound and I was told a few times that I sounded clearer than my previous headsets. There are a few negatives that are rather annoying though. The microphone seems to lack sensitivity, on both vent and mumble I turn the sensitivity all the way up and I nearly have to put the mic in my mouth for it to pick up my voice at a normal talking level, I find myself talking loud all the time so that the mic will pick up my voice, If I use push to talk on these programs it is less of a problem, but I don't prefer using push to talk. The up side to this problem is that it doesn't leave an open mic or pick up back ground noise. There is no mute button which I would have liked, if your using push to talk that won't matter.Recommendation: Pass on these, although I really like Sennheiser's sound quality the ergonomics and mic sensitivity make these not worth buying.

Length:: 4:49 MinsSennheiser's PC 320 may not be the most stylish headset available compared to others available on the market, however it does have a really nice solid feel to it.The past headsets I've used for the PC connect via a wired USB cable or a wireless USB dongle, this one however splits off into two; a 3.5mm headphone jack(port normally coloured green) and a 3.5mm microphone jack(port normally coloured pink), both these ports are standard for desktops and laptops, however do double check you have them just in case. The audio output from the headphones I found to be of really good quality and it's really easy to adjust the volume by sliding the circle around on the right-hand side. Though I was very impressed with the sound it can't output much bass, so for those who like that extra kick in bass, you are looking at the wrong product. When I first used the microphone, I initially had a problem with the microphone volume, even when putting the microphone volume to it's maximum it was far too quiet, but after fiddling with the microphone cable the volume went to as it should and since then I've had no problems at all, so it's highly possible it may have been my computer having a funny 5 minutes. The clarity of the microphone really blew me away, the voice output was crystal clear and to date has got to be the best headset microphone I've owned.Comfortability wasn't too bad, it fits well on my head and is easily adjustable, I can wear these for about 3 hours before feeling any kind of discomfort which for me is really good, I do have sensitive ears so small amounts of pressure effects me more than most other people so others may have a different experience to what I've had.Overall it's a really good headset with a fantastic microphone attached, it may lack a bit in bass but don't let this put you off.

I really enjoy these headphones. I find the headphones to be comfortable. These sound really good. I was actually quite amazed at how well they sounded especially when paired with a nice ASUS sound card that I purchased. I wasn't expecting the surround experience to be any good out of a pair of headphones, but they are good. I'm not saying it's as good as having a 5.1/7.1 high end floor standing speaker set, but it's definitely amazing compared to your standard head phones. This is a very good product. This definitely makes playing pc games more enjoyable. Especially compared to my old stereo speakers which miraculously are still working (they come with an old Dell Pentium 2 computer from back in the day). I also love the long cord that these headphones have.

Sennheiser is a trusted name in the professional audio world, so it only makes sense to trust that they know what they're doing when it comes to headphones with a microphone. While a lot of the other companies make great headsets, Sennheiser is a standard in recording studios for both headphones and microphones. When you think about it in those terms, does it make sense to purchase a headset made by a peripherals company, or one that makes headphones & mics that professionals use? While I consider this product worthy of 5 stars, that doesn't mean it's perfect. The one problem that I've noticed is that the highs are a bit shrill, meaning that the higher frequencies aren't going to be replicated as well as I would like. Keeping in mind that this headset is ~$45, you wouldn't find other companies to do a better job. Every thing else about this headset is solid, as the sound quality is quite good, the mic is clean & crisp, and it even has a long cable with a volume knob & switch to turn off the mic. It's also worth mentioning that these headphones are incredibly comfortable. So if you're in the market for a headset for PC gaming, and want to spend enough to get a quality product, but not bleed your wallet dry, this is a fantastic choice. Couldn't recommend it more.

I've had this headset for about eight months now, and am somewhat disappointed. They are really comfortable, by far the most comfortable headset I've ever had. The sound is indeed pretty good, although I question whether it's really superior enough to warrant the hefty price tag. The cord is wonderfully long, which I love. The on-headset volume control works very well. Now on to the problem. The mic. The mic on my first pair died within a month. It just stopped working without any warning. I never treated it rough at all, and I have no idea what happened. Luckily, it was within the first 30 days after I bought it, so I sent it back to Amazon and got a brand new (not refurbished) replacement as easy as pie. I had the second pair for about five or six months.Aaaaand then the mic died again. As with the first headset, I took good care of it, and have no idea why it stopped. I didn't even use the mic very much. Both times I did plenty of troubleshooting to determine that it really was the mic, and not some sound driver problem, etc. I plugged them into other computers, and tried different mics on my computer. It was definitely a problem with the mic both times. So now I'm stuck having to go through the warranty to get a replacement. But at this point, I'm asking myself if it's worth the hassle. For right now, I just ordered a cheap Zalman clip-on mic through Amazon. At this point, I'm pretty sure I will not be getting a Sennheiser for my next headset.

I've not owned a gaming headset before, never felt the need for one to be honest. However - I was provided an opportunity to test these out and see if they would be somthing I would recommend. My first impression on removing it from the packaging was the look, they were definitely impressive, durable and a solid build. Nothing seems flimsy or cheap, but its also surprisingly lightweight. The wire is quite heavy duty, and pretty long, but some may wish it were a bit longer. The headbar and ears are both covered in comfortable padding. The earpieces swivel slightly in and out, fit very snug on the head. Wearing them w/out them attached to anything blocks out nearly all noise...I could still hear things in the room, but only slightly. Now for sound - Everyone knows Sennheiser is one of the premier names in sound quality, and these are no disappointment. Now these are probably not the headset you want if you're just listening to music in a studio or something - but for a combination of a microphone and comfort and audio quality, I doubt there's any better at this price. Every sound, especially the mid's and high's are exceptionally clear and sharp. The microphone quality, while it is hard for me to tell myself, I've been told it's excellent. I love the boom mic mute by swiveling it to the up posistion, very cool for sidebar conversations, or those bodily noises you don't want heard. :-)My only con with this set of headphones is the cord I think could be a bit longer. Also, I think a carrying bag might be nice to go with these headphones, and maybe a bluetooth adapter/transceiver for those that want the option to go 'cordless'.I would DEFINITELY recommend these to any gamer...

It pains me to give such a poor review to a company whose products I truly love. But the PC 350's sound terrible. There is no excuse for how poor the audio quality is on these cans - it sounds like you ARE listening through tin cans. For perspective, I own HD555's, HD380's, PC 150's (which the Mic broke on after more than 10 years of solid service), PX100's and PMX90's, along with a 900 Mhz wireless model whose number escapes me at the moment. All of those sets sound better than these, including the under $50 PX's. I truly love Sennheiser headsets for their comfort and durability, but mostly for their audio quality. The PC350's fall down on that score in a big way.I listened to these through my Macbook Pro with and without an external amplifier - the amp helped some, but not much. The high impedance (150 Ohms) of this headset is only slightly more than the older model HD555's I have which are rated at 120 ohms - current HD555 spec is 50 Ohms, apparently. I swapped directly one for the other, and the difference is night and day. The 350's are closed and the 555's open, so I swapped for the HD380's (54 Ohm), and the soundstage of the 380's was closer to the 555's than the 350's.I cannot review the mic, as I never bothered to do more than verify that it worked. These cans are well constructed, appear to use the same padding as the HD380's, look like they'd last for years. I returned them and will try the HD 161's next - the 151's are a direct replacement for the PC 150's I own, but are closed like the 150's are. I prefer open so I can hear what's going on around me, especially if I'm at a LAN party. I had hoped the PC 350's would be as fantastic as the HD380's are. Sadly, no such luck. These went back on the same truck they arrived on. Too bad.

I have had these for almost two years now and they are still very nice.Pros:-SOOOO comfy and light even with glasses they aren't an issue big ++++-Made very well-Great mic-great sound quality for gaming and music or movies-Long cord (some might see this as a con but you can always tie part of it up)-It can take a beating, cord too, which is great (I sometimes get the cord stuck on my chair and accidentally pull sometimes hard on it, but after this happening countless times, two years later its great, no wires exposed or anything like cheaper headsets would do)Cons:-base isn't extremely noticeable (I don't mind but I'm sure some would, it is plenty for me)Bottom line:I have a little regret about getting these, just because of the price I should of just went all the way up and got the PC360. Overall I'm very happy about this headset and would recommend to others if you can't afford the PC360. If you don't really care about audio quality or build quality, this isn't the headset for you, go find something cheaper. If you do and can't afford these try one of the lower tier headsets from Sennheiser.Side note that may be important for some of you: This headset is NOT an USB headset so audio will vary a bit depending on your sound card. (Might be why my bass isn't very strong.)

I own both the PC350 and the PC360. If i were to recommend 1 of them it would be the PC350. Both headsets have great audio and recording capability. Used with ventrilo other users can hear me crystal clear. The main difference between the two, is that:The PC360...... is open air meaning that you can hear outside noise while wearing them which gives a slightly better sound because you cant hear the headset moving around on your head (eg tapping the earcup)....volume control and mute switch are on the headset itself which i like better than being in the cord(PC350)...The earcups do not pivot much which makes the headset tight on my head personally, and are made of velour not leather which will last longer however can be harder to clean when needed especially if you spill something on them....The headset is heavier than the PC350 but still very light.Overall if you want a headset i would recommend the PC350 or the PC360

These headphones really enhanced my gaming experience and took it to the next level. I, personally, have never used gaming headphones before, so I sort of feel like someone gave me a BMW for my first car. Of course, the sound was incredible, I had no idea how much of the audio features were lost on me without using these headphones. Also, I was very impressed with the comfort of these headphones, so they should work well for people who play for long periods of time. The headphones are very high-quality as far as materials and workmanship, and the case is perfect for storage and protection. (Which is usual for Sennheiser and what you would expect from their products.) I did not, as yet, test out the mic function. All in all, while the price means a significant investment, this should be totally worth it for those who thrive on gaming. I, personally, highly recommend these headphones.

These are decent headphones for the price. The 10 foot cord is handy if you want to sit back from the set. They are reasonably comfortable and fairly light weight. Like any headset they can become annoying if worn for a long time. The sound is as good or better than any headset that I've tried in this price range. Voices and music seem clear. I wish it had volume control on the headset. That is a nice feature and more and more headsets seem to be dropping this, I assume to save costs. The microphone works well. Overall I can recommend this if you are looking for a decent, corded gaming or music headset.

These are nice headphones: 10 foot cord is handy, low "clamping" force on the wearer's head, noise cancelling mic makes it easy for the listeners to hear you, comfortable for several hours of use, good base response and all-around sound. Some minuses: No volume control on the unit. Since they are earmuff-style they may seem big to users that typically use ear buds. For those of who don't like ear buds, however, they are a nice alternative. No USB adapter, included. There are better models in the market, but generally at a higher price. These are a good middle of the road choice.

I had a cheap pair of headphones for half the price and got the same sound. I have ear buds that sound better and have much more volume control. I am not sure why, but there is not much volume on these headphone, maybe they require more power than a tablet can provide….not sure. I guess I should have spent a little more money and got a better set of headphones. My overall opinion of the headphone are – nothing worth bragging about with this set, and would not recommend them unless they were priced a lot lower, maybe $20.

This is my first experience with headsets and I initially questioned whether it would be an advantage. In hindsight, I now wish I would have used headsets years ago. This headset was used on a Mac and worked fine for about a week or so, after which one side appeared silent. The headset has two little prongs that plug into a microphone and earphone jacks. Tried jiggling wires and looking for loose or broken connection with no result. I also tried it on a Windows laptop with the same result. On another note, I also ordered a Logitec headset at the same time I ordered the Sennheiser - the Logitec has a volume control which the Sennheiser does not, and I questioned whether that was necessary. Don't know who came up with that idea, but it's great! It also utilizes a USB type of plugin. (The Logitec works fine, by the way.# The reason I ordered two different types was two-fold: one, to avoid an all-eggs-in-one-basket scenario which, in hindsight #of which I have an abundance), was good thinking. Secondly, I didn't want to tie up the last USB port on my Mac. Now I'll see about returning the Sennheiser.

So I got this headset after a week of research and looking around for the best deals. I got this model to replace my Logitech G35 which recently broke after falling from my desk chair which was merely 2 feet high. So obviously I was looking for a durable replacement. First of all the sound quality is amazing. it sounds crisper and clearer than the G35. they are much lighter and more comfortable. too comfortable in fact that I am afraid I might forget that I have them on and leave and yank the PC tower along with me. now this is not a noise canceling headset which I actually prefer because I want to hear what is going around me as well, so these are amazing for LAN parties. you have the option of switching between 5.1 and 7.1 which is nice this way you can do with whatever the game supports. I bought them for $127 form bestbuy website. My only Con is that the cord is too thin (about 3mm diameter) they could have made it thicker or replaced it with a more durable cord.

First off, these are a great sounding pair of headphones that have an easy circumaural fit and are quite light on your head. The microphone works great for voice as well based on feedback I got from other end of the communication. The microphone has a cool feature that goes mute when you flip it up in the vertical position and turns itself on when you bring it in front of your mouth. A volume calibrator is built as a large disk rocker on the right ear cup. I found the volume too easy to turn though, so it is easy to get it reset/changed with the simplest touch or adjustment, requiring extra adjustments. As I mentioned, the stereo sound out the the headphones is great and close enough to the Sennheiser HD280s I used before that I am not missing those. However, I will take a pass on the whole 3D imaging support for this. It feels like they are playing some slight time delay/echo games with the various sound frequencies to try to believe your sound stage is bigger than it is, but I found that to happen at a cost of loss of sound definition. If I were to judge the sound quality with full 3D effects turned on all the time probably "meh..." is the best I could come up with. Turning back to pure stereo and the sound again is fully defined across all frequencies and music sounds great again.Even though this is a "gamer" set, I have only used DVD and music source material to listen on this headset, so I can't speak to how games might use this differently from a 5.1 or 7.1 sound source from a DVD.

I disabled all my other sound cards and devices just to make sure I was using only the included sound card's processing. Even running the included speaker setup on Vista, the surround effect just wasn't noticable. I had high hopes - I went to Dolby's site and listened to the demos using a regular set of earbuds and was expecting the same or similar performance. It just wasn't here. You can turn on the dolby headphone setting by sliding the clear plastic piece on the usb sound card. The unit then lights up and the icon in the system tray turns blue to let you know it's on. To me, the only difference in sound was that it does create a more dispersed sound-field, sounding like things are around you vs. inside the center of your head, but you can't actually pinpoint any sounds. Additionally, the vocals then sound like they have an echo - like being in a tunnel or cave. It's very distracting, especially when there's no background noise in a movie or sequence. Again, there just wasn't any decent surround sound experience when watching a movie with them.I didn't have problems with the comfort of the headband - it wasn't too tight and my ears fit completely inside the earmuffs. By design, they're closed in order to block out ambient noise. Therefore, they will trap heat. The microphone is nice and the fact that you can rotate it up out of the way is great for when you're not using it. It's very thick and durable, but can still be flexed to increase the space from your mouth. The cord only comes from the left ear, which is also nice, and the right ear has the built-in volume control and can be tilted about 30 degrees forward or to the rear of your head. This lets you listen to the audio on your left ear and have an open ear to ambient noise. The set also comes with a nice usb extension cable and bag. Without using the extension, the soundcard/Dolby Headphone switch sits within inches of your usb port. USing the cable let you get it closer to your hands for easy access.Maybe others will have a better surround sound experience, but I wouldn't buy another pair based on this feature and how poorly it performed for me. I was lucky to receive this pair for free to evaluate. If the surround feature really worked well, it would be a great headset.

My title says it all. I voip about 4 hours a day, and the clarity and responsiveness of the Sennheiser PC 31 is great. I also use this headset to dictate speech - and it works exceptionally well. Most important is that this headset is extremely well constructed. Over the past two years, I have dropped it, slammed it, sat on it, and yanked it out of my computer more times that I care to count - and it still works when other headsets I have owned have failed. If I ever need to, I will buy this headset again in a heartbeat.
