OVERALL RATINGThis is an excellent headset with really great sound quality. A delight to listen to. The virtual 7.1 effect adds to the ambiance and enjoyment of many movies and gaming situations, but in my view is generally not great for music and is definitely poor for simple voice applications. This is marketed as a gaming headset, with perhaps its main selling point being its 7.1 sound that is supposed to give the gamer an advantage by providing outstanding directionality of sound. I am not someone who spends countless hours gaming at a stretch, nor am at all a strongly competitive gamer. But even as a low-impact gamer I just wasn't convinced the headset lived up to this goal. Directionality of sound in 7.1 seemed far from pinpoint, and actually sometimes seemed better in regular stereo -- although 7.1 did add some sense of being able to better notice sounds from behind. The headset also is sold as being extremely comfortable for long stretches of time, as gamers can rack up many hours at a stretch. I found it got a little uncomfortable after three hours and very warm and painful around the ears after four hours.I love the headset quality and as a stereo headset with surround effects for movie viewing it deserves a five-star rating. As a gaming headset, however, I thought the relative weakness in both sound directionality and comfort cost the product a star. Recommended enthusiastically for general use, and recommended, but with a little less gusto, for hard-core gamers.OUT OF THE BOXThe box includes the following:- Stereo headset with microphone and two-meter cord- "3D G4ME1" USB sound card (for processing virtual 7.1 sound through stereo headset)- 1.5 meter USB extension cord- Driver CD- Quick start guideRight out of the box, the DVD drive on my computer could not read the driver CD. This had not happened with software loads before, and I confirmed that my drive is still able to read other software discs with no problem. I was able to download the driver at the website listed on the CD sleeve, so while this was not a major setback, it was an annoyance.HEADSET SOUND AND COMFORTThe headphones are excellent quality, and I absolutely love the sound, which is rich and warm. I found the bass to be very good -- although I may not be the best guy to judge bass as I do not like to pump up the bass very much. I found the sound was beautiful on games, gaming demos, movies, and music of varying types, including vivid early stereo classical recordings, rock, hip hop and punk. However, note that these are STEREO HEADPHONES. The headset does not have native 7.1 sound -- which means it does not have seven plus one separate little physical speakers. The 5.1 or 7.1 sound is obtained virtually by processing through the enclosed USB sound card. The headset is generally comfortable. My head is big (63 cm, I cannot buy hats at most stores) but it took about three hours before the pressure on my ears got to be uncomfortable. I also found they got hot -- again, after about two or three hours. After four hours I was very ready to take them off to give my head a rest and a chance to cool down.7.1 SOUNDCARD AND SURROUND EFFECTSIf I were just a bit more cynical, I might say the 7.1 sound is just stereo with an echo and a low, omnidirectional, movie-theater-style rumble added on to confuse the listener.I do think the 7.1 is more than that, better than that. Still, on several 7.1 demos I viewed, I found that turning the sound card to the OFF position and listening in simple stereo actually provided a cleaner sound in which general directionality was easier to pinpoint. Turning the 7.1 on enhanced the directional feeling of sounds coming from behind, but I found it more difficult to distinguish sounds coming from the front as opposed to the side.I am no sound engineer, but I did my best to read up on Dolby Pro Logic IIx, the basis for the 7.1 effect for this headset. The general principle is to use information inherit in stereo audio signals to map the sounds out in three dimensions. This is what the human brain does: mapping out what direction sounds are coming from in real life, based on the delay between sounds in our own left and right channels -- our ears. Although the brain has a much faster and more powerful processor than any of our computers, the sound card that drives the Dolby system for this headset tries to analyze elements like the delay between sounds in the left and right channels and phase shifts in order to reprocess sounds so that what is coming out of the stereo headset speakers mimics what we would hear normally in three dimensions. So the Dolby system basically tries to trick our ears into thinking sound is coming from certain directions.I wasn't incredibly impressed by the system's ability to do this, although it did work on some levels. But I must say that using the stereo mode gives much cleaner left and right channel distinctions, without the muddy ambient rumble of the 7.1 or 5.1 mode.Don't get me wrong, I thi

I'm always disappointed when people downgrade a product because they don't understand how to use it, or in this case, the computer it is attached to. The voice quality on this headset is amazingly rich and full bodied. We'll get to the issue of why some people are having trouble with the mic in a moment.First a general review. I purchased this to use as a Skype-type communications headset, not for music, but the musical sound quality was a pleasant surprise. The headphones are no match for my $250 Sennheiser headphones, but Sennheiser's design expertise in high end audio shows up in these inexpensive headphones. I think they might actually be better than the $75 headphones I use to sound check at gigs. Some have complained that the headset is uncomfortable, but I wear this thing for hours at a time, sometimes 6 hours a day, with no discomfort. It does not bother my glasses. Be aware that the mic, while having good adjustment, must be worn on the left side. The headset is very light, which also means there isn't a lot of structural plastic in the headband. Still, the build quality is decent and should withstand normal wear and tear, but I wouldn't call it bulletproof. At critical points, such as cable entry and exit points, the reinforcement is well done. I've been using this headset 14 to 16 hours a week for five months, and it is holding up just fine. The cable is much longer than most computer headsets - about 10 feet. That can be good and bad. If your computer box is stuffed away in a far corner, you will appreciate the long cable. I like being able to walk around my office and can easily reach my bookcase while using the headset. The downside is that the cable is a little thin for being so long. It tangles easily and gets caught in my chair wheels. A thicker cable wouldn't have that problem. Of course, if I really want to walk and talk at the same time, I should just get a Bluetooth headset, so its hard to complain about this issue. On balance, the long chord is a plus. The headset has two cable plugs, intended for computer use, not telephone use. The two plugs have easily visible color coding - red for mic, green for headphone - and can be seen (and verified) even when plugged in. The mic is mono, but the cable plug is stereo, a nice touch which makes the mic plug-compatible with a wider array of equipment, such as stereo line inputs. There is a plastic ferule a few inches up from the plugs which prevents the dual cable from splitting all the way up to the headset, also a nice touch. So what's up with all the people having trouble with the mic? Just because the mic is plug compatible doesn't mean it is electrically compatible. The problem, if one can call it that, is on the computer side, not the headset side. The stereo input on a computer might be a line input or a mic input. The electrical requirements are very different, and most computer manufacturers do a terrible job letting the consumer know which kind of jack is on the computer. A line input is meant for pre-amplified output, such as the "pre-out" on your stereo or the output from an MP3 player or smartphone. If you plug the mic into a line-in jack, the volume will be very low. If you are lucky enough to have a computer with a line-in amp that has lots of gain, you can overcome the volume problem. However, there will be lots of extraneous noise due to the excessive gain required. Additionally, the mic will sound "thin" and "tinny" because there is an impedance mismatch. This is by design and is not a flaw. Some desktop computers (but rarely laptops) have two input jacks. The line-in might be on the back, the mic-in might be on the front of the case, or perhaps vice-versa. If you have two inputs, experiment to see if one of them works better. If one of the inputs is really a mic input, the quality difference will be dramatic and obvious. In short, the microphone problems some people are having is a design decision made by the computer manufacturer and is not a quality issue concerning the headset, or the computer for that matter. My computer only has a line-in jack, so I use this headset with the Syba SD-CM-UAUD USB Stereo Audio Adapter. This is a great combination. At the time I purchased this headset (about 5 months ago), Amazon didn't have a USB headset option at the price I wanted to pay. Having to purchase and use both the headset and the Syba USB audio adapter is no big deal, but I would have preferred just a USB connection. If Amazon doesn't have a USB headset at a similar price when you need to purchase, you won't go wrong with this combination. Except for the cable tangle, I like it.

Плохо

Sennheiser has been the go-to brand for professional microphones for years; filmmakers, musicians, broadcasters, you name it. But I never realized they branched out into headsets for the home user, because I always associated their brand with the professional market. So I was interested to see how the Sennheiser brand translated to this type of gaming application. Overall, these are decent gaming headsets, but I doubt serious audiophiles would be all that impressed; they just don't hold up to the quality I've come to expect from Sennheiser.Likes:> Comfortable Fit -- the ear cups are nice and cushiony and very comfortable to wear over long periods of time and don't make your ears hot.> Faux 7.1 Surround -- is decent, but keep in mind, the definition of 7.1 surround is seven speakers. So any headset mimicking that configuration with just 2 speakers, simply doesn't measure up. The decoder does a decent job of giving a 7.1 feel, but mimicry is about as close as these can get to bona fide surround sound.> Nice Boom Mic -- flip it down and it turns on; swing it back upright, and it turns off. Perfect.> Noise Canceling -- lives up to what I'd expect from Sennheiser; excellent quality noise canceling and audio clarity of the user's spoken words.> Feather Light -- I barely even notice I'm wearing them.> Large Volume Dial -- just about the entire outside surface of the right ear cup is a large circular volume dial, making it easy to find and use. Though I doubt I'll ever turn these down, since decibel output is this headset's Achilles heel.Dislikes:> Ridiculously Low Volume -- headsets fall to the wayside by the dozens in this department, and sadly, this Sennheiser headset suffers from the same critical flaw. The volume is just waaaaaaaay too low. I even plugged them into my android tablet so I could test the headset with my Volume+ audio boost app. The app boosts audio up to 20 decibels, which this Sennheiser headset can easily handle without distortion. But even at a 20db boost, this headset doesn't even come remotely close to my Sony Balanced Armature Bluetooth Headset. My Sonys are only earbuds, yet kick these full-size Sennheisers around the block when it comes to audio clarity, fidelity and volume. Huge letdown in this department, Sennheiser.> Over Packaged -- why should you care about the packaging a product comes in? Because you're paying for it; the slicker the packaging, the more it costs, and the less development $$ went into the product itself. It's a waste of money, resources, plastic and paper -- all of which would have been better spent on making this headset go louder, sound better and cost less.> Price Point -- is unknown at the time of this writing. But it's Sennheiser, so I know for certain they won't be cheap. Given the performance, they should be less than a hundred, but I suspect they'll be much, much higher than that.> 3D Sound?? -- I'm not a fan of manufacturers using catch phrases and popular buzzwords to inaccurately describe products. When HD was beginning to take hold, it became all the rage for manufacturers to slap "HD" on everything. Now, "3D" is the new buzzword of the moment, so a lot of manufacturers are slapping 3D on everything. Sound can neither be HD nor 3D. It can have depth and superior fidelity -- it can even be 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround with the right number of speakers -- but that's about it. There has been no technological revolution in audio outside of that, and the misuse of buzzwords is just misleading to the consumer.> On A Short Leash -- I'm a big believer that corded devices are much more reliable and solid than cordless. But by the same token, it's difficult to go back to a corded headset once you're habituated to cordless. It's not a flaw, per say, it just feels a bit antiquated. If you're going to use these for HTPC gaming, be prepared to buy long extension cables for both the mic and headset.Bottom Line -- if Randy Jackson were judging these, he'd prolly say -- meh; that was just ah'ight fo me. And he'd be right. These Senheiser 3D G4ME headsets are just ok. I may even go so far to say they're solidly mediocre. The fit is nice, the mic is great and the build is decent. But personally, I'm MUCH more impressed with my Sony Balanced Armature Bluetooth Headset. Even though they're not officially touted as 'gaming' headsets, my Sonys just sound waaaaaaaaaay better than this Sennheiser, and I bet would be better for gaming too. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

***I know this is a huge wall of text but you should make sure you know what to expect when buying something that costs over $200.***First and foremost, I am a gamer. I have been gaming competitively for well over 10 years and over that period have gone through numerous headsets these being the Turtle Beach X1 & X11, the Tritton AX Pro, the Astro A40 2010 & 2011 Models, and now the Sennheiser PC360. The Sennheiser PC 360s, however, take the cake for being the best headset that I've ever owned and used. Also, I am an Xbox 360 gamer so before reading this review keep in mind that I am using this with Astro Gaming's Mixamp for 5.1 SRS from the Xbox 360, and not as a standalone 2.1 Stereo headset as it is intended. This is because without a Mixamp you can not use this headset with an Xbox 360.***Pros[+] Amazing sound quality[+] Some of the best audio positioning available on a dedicated gaming headset due to the Open Acoustic build and the large sound stage.[+] Open Acoustic design allows air to flow through the speakers to your ears, keeping your ears cool and getting rid of any gross feeling of warmth that can be caused by a closed design. (Astro A40, Tritton AX Pro)[+] Superb noise cancelling microphone. Very sturdy but also pliable to adjust easily to user preference. Xbox Live chat is very clear and the mic picks up your voice without you having to yell. It does very well to also block out any unwanted noise.[+] Extremely comfortable. The earpads and headband cushion are covered in a velour material that feels great around the ears (keep in mind these headphones will completely surround your ears and will not push down on any part of your ear). The headband is adjustable to fit any size head and the headphone itself does not push too tightly on your head. For those with glasses; this headset will fit fine while you are wearing glasses.[+] On ear controls works surprisingly well. The volume knob can be found on the right side of the headset and will stay at the volume you put it at. The boom mic acts as the mute switch on this headset. When you flip the microphone into the upward position it will mute the microphone (indicated by a noticeable click. You do the opposite to unmute the microphone.)[+] Very sturdy design. The headset itself is made of a very forgiving plastic that is pretty bendable, feels very strong and can definitely take a beating.[+] Very professional looking headset. The headset is a matte black with velour cushioning. It looks very sleek and is all business.***Cons[-] Price tag. This is one of the most expensive dedicated gaming headsets on the market, especially considering the fact that Sennheiser literally gives you nothing with the headset.[-] For use with any Game Console you will need an adapter, most common being the Astro Mixamp which in itself is about $120 USD. For a PC gamer, you'll need a good sound card to get the full experience with these headphones. A standard, bottom of the line sound card will not do these headphones justice. This means that you'll most likely have to spend even more money to get these headphones running optimally.[-] The microphone is huge and cannot be detached. I feel like the microphone on this headset is way too big for what it's being used for. Other headsets such as the Turtle Beach models have a small adjustable wire which is perfectly fine as a boom. The microphone is also not removable and is confined to your left ear.***Other Things to Consider[~] Open Acoustic design allows sound to enter and exit through the headset. Let me go a bit more into depth about this.eg1.) You are listening to your task's audio at an average volume and someone is talking next to you. You will be able to hear them fairly clearly. - This is a preference thing. For some this won't be a problem; people who tend to use the headset in a secluded area or who would prefer if they could hear their surroundings and others would definitely benefit from this. For others this may be a deal breaker; people who go to LANs will hear people yelling and this may take away from the game audio, and people who would prefer not to be able to hear their surrounding while gaming should consider opting for a closed design headset. Sennheiser PC 350 Collapsible Gaming Headset with Vol Control & Microphone Mute is a great alternative to the PC360 for someone looking for a closed design.eg2.) You have the volume on your headphones fairly loud. People near you will be able to hear audio coming from your headset. - Again, this is a preference thing. Some people would rather have their game audio kept confined to their headset. Others may not care if audio leaks from the headset because they may play in a dedicated area where they will be using the headphones alone. You may be wondering, "Why should I buy this headset if I can just get a Closed design set?" Well, the reasoning behind the Open Acoustic design is that it allows sound to enter and leave the ear naturally as opposed to allowing it

I decided to try these headphones after previously owning the Sennheiser 333D gaming headphones. The 333D had phenomenal sound quality courtesy of the USB 7.1 Dolby sound processor; however, they were easily the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever owned. They didn't feel bad at first, however, after about thirty minutes, my ears would start aching. The pain would grow in intensity until they became too uncomfortable to continue wearing. I was not alone in that complaint. Well, Sennheiser must pay close attention to customer feedback because the 350SE is the polar opposite of the 333D in terms of comfort. They fit quite spaciously over the ears with no pinching or bunching of the earlobes. There is plenty of room for even large ears inside the cups and the padding feels very soft and comfortable. They never feel uncomfortable, even after hours of use. I just completed an eight-hour training session and experienced no discomfort whatsoever. Sound quality is excellent. It's not quite as nice as the 333D, but in fairness, as I stated, the 333D utilized a separate USB 7.1 Dolby sound processor instead of relying on your sound card, which in my case is standard onboard. Despite not being quite on par with the 333, the 350SE is definitely no slouch in the sound department. They still sound better than most headphones out there. When gaming, the sounds were crystal clear. I could clearly hear distinct footsteps, shell casings hitting the ground, wind, radio crackle and many other subtle ambient sounds that usually aren't quite as noticeable when listening through the PC speakers. Music is also very clear and these headphones have decent bass/low frequency sounds in both gaming and music. Although this is a gaming headset, it really excels when used for videoconferencing. The mic is top quality and party on the other end can hear you crystal clear. It worked great with both Skype and Elluminate.Build quality is very nice. The headphones have sturdy construction and the folding action is nice and clean. The cheesy plastic faux metallic accents are still present, but thankfully, not as plentiful or garish as the 333D. The 3 meter cord is a woven fabric and seems much more durable than typical rubber cords. The only downside to it is that it kinks and knots very easily. The headphones fold for easy storage and although they become pretty intuitive to fold after a few times, it would be nice if Sennheiser included some kind of manual or quick tips guide. Your left to figure out how to fold the headset and use the integrated buttons on your own. There is no documentation in the box nor on their website. The rigid carrying case is a nice touch and offers protection for your headset when not in use. The connector is two 3.5mm plugs (mic & headphones). There is no USB adapter included, so this is pretty much PC (or anything with a 3.5mm jack) only. It won't work with console games like a PS3.If you're trying to decide among Sennheiser headphones and especially if you're considering the 333D, I advise you strongly consider these instead, unless you must have the USB adapter. The 333 is fine if you have small ears and a small head (I'm talking really small). After being too uncomfortable for both me and my teenage son, my 333's ended up being used by my 10-year-old daughter on her PS3. She was the only one in the household with a small enough head and ears to wear them comfortably for extended periods. I can happily say, the PC350 will remain all mine! With excellent sound and build quality and a nice carrying case to boot, these are definitely a good quality headset.

Let me get right to the point: This is an outstanding value for a multifunction headset, and worth every cent if you need both a high-quality listening experience, as well as a high-quality voice mic.Professional UseI use the 323d for work oriented activities, such as Skype and Webex conferences from my home office. Audio quality is absolutely outstanding when listening to conversations, and the mic quality is superb when you need to speak. For individuals with whom I converse frequently using Skype have noted that the quality of my voice (via the built-in mic) approaches "being there" quality, with wide spectrum pick-up and crystal clarity. The vocal audio quality via Skype when using the 323d is FAR superior than any other means I've used, both for me as a speaker, and for me as a listener. I also use the 323d to provide vocal tracks for Camtasia recordings of on-screen activities for my customers. Perfect, and no problems to mention.Critical Listening UseThese are fantastic earphones for critical listening to music. I am a big fan of trad and vocal jazz as well as classical, all of which typically represent songs having excellent engineering techniques and recording quality. While the 323d is likely not of the same calibre of a high-end Stax, AKG, or even dedicated Sennheiser circumaural headphone for super-critical and "in your face" listening, it definitely holds its own, and certainly better than any other headphone I've ever used. The soundstage is well presented, and the large drivers in the 323d give more than satisfactory presence of vocalists. As I write this, I am listening to Jane Monheit's excellent album, "Come Dream With Me" -- and I can easily pick up her breathing and subtle vocal changes when singing beautiful renditions of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "So Many Stars". Granted, these headphones were designed for gaming and other non-musical activities, but Sennheiser's DNA is clearly evident in the engineering and execution of these fine headphones.CompatibilityPERFECT for us Mac users! I use a 2011 Macbook Air running OS X 10.8.2 (aka Mountain Lion), and there are absolutely no compatibility problems with the 323d. Plug the headphone in via the off-board USB DAC (included with the headphones), and OS X immediately recognizes the headphones as "Sennheiser 3D G4ME", for both output as well as input (via its built-in microphone). I have not had a single problem with any application using the 323d -- it is completely transparent to all applications given that it is recognized by the operating system. The headphones appear to be very well constructed and are comfortable, both on the head and ears.ConclusionIf you are seeking a high-quality, solidly constructed, and comfortable multifunction headset -- with excellent audio sound and a first-rate microphone, then strongly consider this fine product. Also, fear not, Mac users, as this product appears to be fully functional and recognized by OS X without any software installation or "monkeying around" to get them to work. Just plug them in, and get down to business -- or critical listening. The Sennheiser 323d is a JOY to use!

I am, admittedly, a Sennheiser fanboy. I've been using their headphones for 20 years. While I'm no audiophile, so I never get caught up in what's the "best", I can at least distinguish between a cheap pair of headphones and non-cheap, and much like a pair of sunglasses, once you've used non-cheap headphones, it's pretty much impossible to bear using a cheap pair.My ex gave me a pair of Logitech G35s, and because I loved her, I used them, even though I found the USB headset to have incredibly bad sound quality compared to pretty much any of the 7 Sennheisers I've used in the past (why anyone would pay $100-$200 for usb headset sound quality is akin to my puzzlement over all the millions of people who'd spend hundreds of dollars on their Ipods while using those horrible $5 white earbuds, though to be fair, apparently Sennheiser now sells a USB headset as well...). About the only good thing I could say about those G35s was that I didn't have to use a separate microphone for gaming sessions. Our relationship eventually fell apart, and I finally got around to realizing I had no emotional reason for continuing to use such a horrible headset, and promptly ordered these Sennheisers. The 360 is, I'm told, the superior sound if you're an audiophile, due to their open nature, but I have always personally preferred closed, which is why I bought the 350s.Like all but one pair of Sennheisers I've bought in the past, these 350s do not disappoint. Note, you MUST have an amp coupled with your sound card. I know audiophile/tech snobs love to get all high and mighty about how the consumer should know what they are buying, but realistically, the average joe is NOT going to register anything when glancing over the technical specs as their eyes run over the impedance for these cans. So, if you are planning on buying these, and have no idea what impedance is, make sure you buy yourself an amp. They'll certainly work without one, but not to their full potential. Nothing special is required. A $30-$50 Fiio would be sufficient. Just keep in mind that if you do not have an amp, and your sound card does not have an amp, then you do have another purchase to make.If I was to design a version 2 of this headset, I would get rid of the idea of making them collapsible. Personally, I really don't care if my gaming headset can collapse or not (I know the logic behind the idea that gamers want a collapsible headset for when they go to lan parties, etc, but the reality is I have never needed the extra few inches of cubic space a collapsible headset saved me when packing), and I consider the additional joints required to allow them to collapse to just be an increased risk that something breaks mechanically. Or, make this headset in two versions. One collapsible. One not. But, I can't ding it for that, as I can't predict the life span of these, having only owned them for a brief while now. Hence, five stars.

Having allowed the PC 360 several weeks to burn in, it's time to review them mostly for sound. I'm currently using the excellent Sennheiser HD 600 for serious music listening and previously used the older HD 580 which is no longer available. The HD 600s were formerly the top headphone in the Sennheiser line. They were a major evolutionary improvement over the HD 580. The newer HD 650 are likewise an evolutionary improvement over the HD 600. Either of those two were formerly among the best headphones in the world before the $1500 Sennheiser HD 800 came out in 2009. The Beyerdynamic Tesla T1 is roughly comparable to the HD 800. You do get what you pay for and those high-end headphones are as good as $20,000 to $100,000 stereo systems in terms of sound quality at the ears when used with good electronics and sources. This is mainly to put some perspective in the top end of the headphone market.Unlike the HD 600s which are made in Ireland and likely designed in Germany, and the HD 800s which are hand-made in Germany, the PC 360 is designed in Denmark and is built in China. The PC360 design is excellent: sturdy, light, comfortable, even pretty in a kind of European techno way. Perhaps because it's Danish, PC 360 has a slightly chunkier yet smoother, more stylish Scandinavian design. Best features are ergonomic and comfort: the microphone boom attached to the left earcup is very sturdy and the rotary volume control in the same place on the right earcup is very easy to adjust by feel. All the design details are very well conceived and executed. Finishes and materials are very good. Like all Sennheisers over a couple hundred dollars, comfort is excellent. Both the earpads and headband are covered with a soft velvet that breathes well. As others have noted, the PC 360 and high end Sennheiser audio headphones remain comfortable and cool for hours at a time. The earpieces may breathe to the outside through a permeable material and the open metal mesh backs. In terms of ergonomics and comfort, this may be one of the best consumer computer gaming and communication headsets available.A very quick note about hearing damage: yes, you can hear whatever the wearer is listening to from outside these open-back headphones if you turn the volume up very high. However if the sound level is that high, you are almost certainly damaging your hearing. Being deaf is about as fun as being blind, IMO. Protect your hearing; keep the sound level down and safe. Would you blind yourself? Do you value your senses? It's also pretty good in terms of sound quality. Taking a close look at the microphone, it may be one of the standard Panasonic (Matsushita) style electret capsules that you can buy at Radio Shack for a couple bucks. That's not a bad thing since it has a relatively wide, flat frequency response and is durable. It's a good microphone that sounds very good and may be widely used in better consumer electronics. The microphone boom has a microswitch which mutes the microphone when it's pushed up away from the speaking position, which is very convenient. The microphone boom has very nice engineering plastics and very carefully designed proportions, angles, openings for better acoustic performance. It was designed by a very good mechanical engineering and acoustical team, probably the same guys who design Sennheiser's professional communications and recording equipment. Its execution is also excellent. In terms of value, both the HD 600 and HD 650 cost significantly more than the PC 360, but they also have much better sound quality. Frequency responses of the former are wider and probably flatter, and sonic details are clearer probably due to better frequency response, transient response and distortion. A significant part of the cost of the PC 360 is in the volume control and boom microphone, but it's still a bit overpriced at about $250. For someone who has never heard high end headphones or a high end audio system, the PC 360 could very easily be the best sound they've ever heard. They are good, but do suffer somewhat in comparison to the former though. In terms of absolute sound quality, the PC 360 sound output has limited low and high frequency response. The ranges that it covers are flatter (have a more even frequency response) and audibly lower distortion than the much older HD 580, so PC 360 could be based on some fairly recent Sennheiser transducer technologies. It is decidedly inferior to the HD 600, whose drivers (transducers) probably cost much more, in terms of frequency range, clarity and distortion.Summary: adequate sound quality, excellent practicality and comfort as a gaming or communication headset. Design engineering is excellent. Would benefit from better drivers, which would add at least 30% to the price of an already expensive consumer product due to the added cost of the microphone and volume control. However, if Sennheiser makes a higher-end version with the same excellent mechani

Ужасно

The PC350 started out sounding very anemic and bass light, but crisp and clear. Several days of break-in helped a bit, but not enough. Compared to my HD650 they were just not listen-able. I have not compared vs a similar priced headset, but for me the frequency balance is not just there to be able to enjoy music. The soundcard in my experience doesn't really affect this. My laptop has enough volume with these, unless you want to compensate by turning things up way louder than you should to compensate for the lack of bass, allowing your ears to compensate by going deaf to the high frequencies. The soundcard does have a noticeable effect on the quality outside of frequency response though. In particular I noticed the difference in recorded mic quality, especially at higher gains. I can recommend an E-MU 0204 for use with these if anyone is looking for an improvement in that area :-)The mic is good quality, with recordings sounding very clear but does suffer from picking up breath noises as it extends directly in front of my mouth. Pro headset mics tend to be positioned to one corner of your mouth to help avoid this. It can be avoided with this headset by moving it down to my chin, but then the gain needs to be increased and it starts to pick up background noises (e.g. keyboard sounds). I found a wind filter from another mic to fit over the top and this helps. Overall with that, I am happy with the mic. It is much better than using a laptop or webcam mounted microphone, with a much quieter background and able to convey more emotion along with the speech than those. I have found that mic quality is quite dependent on the sound card. Using my laptop there is background noise and a noticeable drop in quality vs an E-MU 0204 USB external card. The headphones do appear to be well constructed and able to hold up over time, but I would need to use them for a while to comment properly on that. With regards to the headphone frequency balance, I did a bit of research and found a thread on head-fi about a mod to improve the bass response. Look up "modding-the-sennheiser-pc350-headset" on head-fi.Amazing what an effect a small hole has...One thing I noticed in comparison to the open back HD650 is that the sound changes quite markedly as you move the speaker towards and away from your ear. Without the mod, I could press the cans into my head quite hard and get an acceptable level of bass. This was at the point of my earlobe hitting the grill though. Pull them away slightly and they immediately sound tinny. The HD650 don't change in sound signature nearly as much, mostly it is just the volume that changes as you move them away or towards the ear. This implies that tuning a sealed can is much more tricky and will change based on head and ear shape as well as the condition of the pads. So, your results might vary with regards to how well the PC350 fits your head. One other thing worth mentioning is the cable. These come with a good length and flexible cable. It does transmit some sound to the headset though in normal use I don't notice that. It would be useful to have some type of modular cable solution, allowing a shorter cable option without the inline volume and mute controls for those with desktop control for headphone and mic levels. I did have an issue in that my mic and headphone sockets are further apart than the cable allows, so I had to spice the cable beyond the original design. The volume control actually works well, without too much channel imbalance. I did notice is that the mic mute can cause quite a large POP noise.Noise isolation is good for high frequencies, but does let most low frequencies through. Works well to drown out background chat and office noise, but not as well for engine noise on a plane. IEMs are better in this respect. Open back headphones let in all sounds in comparison, and let others hear the headset sound in quiet environments. To put all this in context, I've struggled to find any decent headset solution. The PC360 might be it as they are open back and so should avoid some of the sound quality issues of this set, but they certainly won't sound better than the HD590, so you're paying quite a bit for that mic.I actually bought a "refurb" set for around half the original price. I would recommend something like that, or even a used set and then a couple of mods (headfi hole + mic wind filter) to get to a good solution for the money. Due to my various concerns above, I wouldn't recommend these at full price and for those unwilling to mod the headset.--------------------------------------Some tips on the headfi mod:1. There are 2 screws hidden under the foam sticker on the left side. Took me a while to find the second one.2. Be careful with the wire that exits the left speaker at the bottom. I put some stress on this trying to find the above screw and once I did open it found that the wires had separated from the sleeve inside.3. There's a tiny rubber pad at the top of each driver that softens the i

For the less than $30 I paid these things are incredible. The sound quality is good and so is the comfort. These are open ear headphones that rest on the ears and have firm-ish foam cushions. They are a little tight at first but I got used to it fast and it wasn't enough of a issue to cause any discomfort even after wearing them for hours. Construction is all plastic but everything feels solid except for the mic arm rotation mechanism which is why I took a star off. It rotates a lil' too easily out of position but the mic quality is good enough that it doesn't have to be directly in front of your mouth to get a good clear pick up.The cord for these is at least 6' long and uses the standard 1/8" stereo jack for both the speakers and mic that are appropriately color coded for the ports on the back of a typical PC. No volume controls on the cord which is fine by me. I hate those on cord controls because they tend to be bulky or get beat up fast and fail IME. There are better headphones with mic than these out there but you have to spend upwards of $60 IMO before you really start to see a significant difference overall. My old headphones were Sennheiser PC230's which worked great until the cats chewed the cord up several times. I would say these compare pretty well to them with the biggest difference being the quality of the mic arm on the PC230. It stayed where you put it. Sound and mic quality is very close between the 2 to my ears.I would not use these if you're an audiophile but then they aren't meant to please the audiophile either. If you're looking for serious bass you'll also be disappointed.* I would recommend these for PC gamers who are looking for a cheap all around decent to good set of headphones w/ mic as well as general music listening. For PC gaming headphones are the way to go short of a full and properly set up 5.1+ speaker system anyways and are what I use these for. Those "7.1" or "5.1" headphones are not needed and are mostly overpriced snake oil (read: simulated in software) anyways.... unless you're looking at some of the better (read: $$expensive$$) ones that have a dedicated audio processor and/or amp. A good set of ears and headphones are the next best thing to a wall hack in many games. Once you get used to em' you'll never go back to a 2.1 desk speaker set up.*Look at the Sony XB700 or 600's if you're a bass-head...no mic though which is why I sold mine.
