This is not for gamers or listening to music. It's more suitable for dictations or on-line chats. It's not heavy on the head and it can be worn for hours.

I bought this headset knowing that Sennheiser would not give me a substandard product... I was not disappointed. I mostly use it for listening to music on my computer. The inline volume control is handy. I also occaisionally use the microphone for Google searches on my Chrome browser. It works just fine.The sound quality is excellent. It could be a little louder - although I suspect most people wouldn't share my opinion on this.

I got these as a Christmas gift and they are a great deal for the price! The audio is rich and full so that you can hear the full range of sound (they don't "sound" cheap and lousy like a lot of headphones in this price range) on the headphones and I still have to try out the microphone (so I may make an update to this review later).

I have an Astro Mixamp that I purchased to use with my nice Audio Technica headphones. After some time of wearing them I noticed they were kind of uncomfortable. I decided to upgrade to the Sennheiser PC 350s. The 350s, where nice, since I wanted volume control and an on/of switch for the mic, but my ears got sweaty after a while. Also, it sounded like my head was in a fishbowl. I play halo with my roommate and I could not hear him even though he would sit right next to me. When playing 2v2, there was no way for me to get my surround sound and hear him without a delay, unless he bought a mixamp for himself or I just didn't wear my headphones.The solution was the PC 360. They feel a little more snug than the PC 350s but are more comfortable. Since the headphones have an open design, my ears don't get hot, and I can enjoy surround sound while still talking to my roommate without a mic. I can hear my own voice clearly so I don't end up shouting sometimes like I did with the PC350s.Some people have noted that these are overpriced and recommend getting similar sennheiser headphones and adding a clip on mic. While this might work for some, I prefer having the mic attached to the headset, and having the mic on/off switch and volume control right on the head set.I gave these the highest ratings I could because they solved all the issues I was having and provide me with an immersive experience. Despite being totally into a game, I can still tell when someone is ringing the doorbell or calling me on the phone. This is a bonus for me , but I can see where this could be an issue if you are trying to use these in a loud environment. I did not rate it on bang for the buck since prices always change and come down.

I bought these back in 2008 and have been using them for a little over three years now. The cord is getting a bit frayed at this point, but the sound is as good as it has always been.The audio quality is very good for a headset at this price point, though obviously not up to par to $100+ audiophile sets. The microphone quality is good also. I would rate these at the top of the range for comfort, though I prefer headphones that go over the ear.

I'm a Sennheiser fan.... Found a good deal on a refurb while looking for a headset to listen to tunes and take calls on my phone at the same time. I was not let down. Great base and highs. My only draw back is how tight they fit the head. Ears start hurting after long periods of time. If you have a larger head I would not recommend them. SRS works as designed. I love em for short periods of time.

great little headset, I use it for vent and have been able to wear it for several hours in comfort. The audio is clear and crisp and I have had not complaints from my guild as to the sound quality they hear. Plug and play and no fuss. An excellent value for the small investment

Hi, I purchased the item and after a week or so of using it, the right headset broke apart from the casing. Called amazon, they referred me to the manufacturer. Really cumbersome process to repair. I decided to toss it. Regarding sound it was ok, nothing to spectacular. I used Senneheiser professionally (mics, etc.)because I was a Broadcast Engineer.. this was a dissapointment.. oh well back to AKG.

Really great quality (for the price) mic and darn good audio for a non-enthusiast level headset. Simple plastic headset with some flat on-ear speakers -- not particularly uncomfortable, not particularly comfortable. Just basic.I'm surprised there isn't an inline mute or volume control. Just a long cord (dual 3.5mm jacks), basic configuration, and quality audio. In retrospect, I can't complain about the quality but might have gone for either a little more or less $.

I pair these with the Astro mixamp so I get dolby digital and better quality sound than the Astro headset itself. They feel good around the ears, not on them if you have big ears like me, and block out most ambient noise. The mic blocks out any sound more than 12 inches away from you but also can be too loud to other people if its too close to your mouth.

I've always used Sennheiser Gaming Headsets like the 151 - affordable, comfortable, sound great.I needed a new headset for work though - something low-key, I figured these would be a reasonable compromise.They aren't a compromise at all - they are remarkably light and far more comfortable than my 151's, and sound just as good if not better.Only downside is that any quality headset should come with a USB adapter, didn't appreciate having to buy one separately, the choices for aftermarket are slim.

I probably spent as much or more on gradually more expensive headsets, starting with cheap $20 ones, until I got these. Had them over a year now and they still rock. They are very clear; though, not quite as clear as my Etymotic ear buds. On the other hand, I don't mind the extra bass when gaming.Not sure if it is just me, but I use voice activation on Ventrillo and I had trouble with breathing popping in at first. I solved it by buying a 5/8 (inner diameter) windscreen. It was cheap; so, I'm thinking it would be nice if Sennheiser dropped one in the box for us.

Excellent sound quality, but when I use this as a VOIP headset, about half the time I'm told that I "sound like [I'm] underwater." I don't know if this problem can be solved by using a better headset. Also, the cord on this thing is comically long (minor, but even while keeping it wound up it often gets in the way) and there is no mute button or volume adjuster on the product itself. I did not expect these features when I bought the headset, but I discovered that these are requirements that I'll look for in the future. I'm hunting for a new headset now.

The pads on the earmuffs begin to deteriorate after a while, and the cord tangles very badly and refuses to straighten out. Otherwise these have great sound quality and voice quality, It blocks sound out just well enough to avoid distractions but still allow you to somewhat hold a convo with a friend next to you.

Just purchased a set of these 151's from Amazon because I need to use a mic with my headphones for telephone calls and such. I find the audio quality to be inferior to my old headphones (Audio-Technical ATH-PRO5 MS) which are about the same price and have a clearer, crisper sound. The 151's sound muffled with too much base. I'm going to have to find something that sounds as good as my old headphones with a mic and return these.

I went through 2 bluetooth and 3 wired headsets before this.The problem with most headsets is a bad mic. Those 'mini-booms' are just poor quality sound. I guess if I didn't care that the other person has a hard time hearing me, the other products would have been fine? This has excellent mic sound quality.For me, that is the 100% most important thing. I tried a $15 headset from a big box store and it had a long mic boom but there were still sound complaints.Headphones: Overall, they are ok. I have a nice pair of Sennheisers I use for music. I wouldn't buy these for the sound.Boom Mic: Perfect.Comfort: They are good. But, they are 'on ear' which can chafe after a while. I use it 2-4 hours a day and there aren't any problems but it's not like the comfort of my big headphones.Connectors: These come with split connections (mic and sound on separate connection). I bought an adapter to use with my cellphone. You'll need one, too.One other note: I did have to buy an adapter (wrote a review on that) that was $15. This adapter makes it work with my cellular (Droid X). It's crazy expensive but this seems to have been the only working solution with good sound.

These binural headphones are made well and eliminate all outside noise. What is particularly good is the volume control. For dictation, your voice is crisp and clear with no mumbling sounds. Great product!

I'm a big Sennheiser fan--have earbuds, wireless headsets, other headsets. Got tired of putting up with the crap from my prior Logitech which crackled all the time with bad volume dial and earpads that gave up only after a couple of years.K... the bads... No volume control which i like a lot. Mic is SUPER sensitive and accurate, so if you use these with say speakers while the headset is off and the speakers are on, the mic will pic it ALL up and you may end up with feedback ring a lot of the time. I tried putting foam mic piece over the mic on this headset and that didn't smooth things out enough or take care of issue. The mic reception can be a real problem at times. No individual volumme control.. sigh, have to dig through all this MS control panel or task bar crap all the time. It's more a hassle than just having a pot/volume adjustment on the headset wires.The goods... typical Sennheiser... the sound is just phenomenal!!! I love it! Mic is very sensitive, hard and true. I dunno this last part is good or bad. Did I mention the sound is incredible! This is not like all the other crap stock headsets and is a major reason I bought this.I'm trying to live with the tradeoffs vs the good sound now and hoping I can just make it all play along. M working on getting an external usb headset/speaker/volume switch to take care of the cutover volumes now and avoid the mic/feedback issues.

First off I want to say I'm a drummer and love everything about drumming. I have been drumming for over 14 years and I LOVE the way drums sound. I am pretty sure my hearing isn't as good as it used to be, but these phones sound amazing. If you want boomy bass these may not me for you, BUT these headphones do have bass. It's accurate bass, it's tight bass, and if you listen to certain types of music (techno, rap) it WILL boom. But it only booms when intended. When I hear a song that starts off with drums on these, it is like audio porn. It sounds like a drummer is sitting right in front of me playing. And if I loop it through my subwoofer to play at the same time it feels like a drummer is there too. But i rarely do that, just had to test it once. These were so good I couldn't hear my sub at all, I could feel it though. If you are looking for an amazing set of headphones with a built in mic these are for you, but be sure to get an amp to push em. They sound really good plugged right into my iphone, but when I amp em I drool. I drool a lot. As far as the rest of the headset features, my previous experiences with headsets were xbox and xbox 360 headsets. So trying to compare the two is like comparing a Pinto to a Lexus. Like comparing an Emmerson to a Dennon. Or even comparing a homeless guy to Superman. The senns are Superman btw, lol. I only use the mic to talk to my guildmates over vent and Mumbles in wow. They say im super clear, some people even have to turn me down. One person was like "dude I can hear your hangy down thingy." It was a huge improvement over my laptop's built in mic.

Update!! I've added two stars after owning the headset for a year. For some reason I no longer notice any discomfort while wearing the headset. The sound is very good, the cord is long, they have held up well with almost daily use and I'm very happy with this purchase.

I work from home and I was using headphones attached to a wireless phone that was plugged into a MagicJack phone system attached to my PC via USB, and I had a hard time hearing. I now have the Sennheiser plugged into my PC's USB port and have MagicJack configured to use them instead. I now hear everything crystal clear and other people can now hear me better. I even had to turn the volume down quite a bit.

If you're like me, you bought these because they are made by Sennheiser and the mic/headphone design looks cool. Just plug it in and it should impress you right? Wrong. The key is: you need to drive these headphones properly. They have a high impedance and they need a high gain amplifier. If you do, it will destroy any other gaming headset and most likely any headphones you have. Paired with a sound card like the Asus Xonar w/Headphone Amp and Mic Pre-amp, this headset is the best I have come across so far.There are better headphones out there but if you are looking for a high quality headset (not just headphones), this is the one. I had the Sennheiser HD-280 Headphones and had read about a 'boom-set' or some funky name version of the HD-280 with a microphone. Basically, (and using the word 'basically' generally implies you don't know what you are talking about; but in this case I just want to get a point across) I wanted my HD-280 with a built in mic. After a few years I naturally forgot about what I wanted to burn my money on, then somehow, through complex ad targeting algorithms implemented by Amazon, I came across this headset. With the Sennheiser name, I was immediately sold. My dream of having a Sennheiser gaming headset came true.This may sound like a shameless plug for Sennheiser and Asus but seriously it sounds good. Try it out and if you disagree, I'd like to hear about it, but for the gamer entering an audiophile's sphere, this is a good start. I have slight hearing loss in my right ear but I can still distinguish audio quality. Driven correctly, this headset is awesome.Comfort: it fits well around my ears. It presses against my head and not my ears; I suppose this is circum-aural.Sound Quality: awesome, but there are better, more expensive headphones out there. compared to headsets, this is one of the best, if not the best.Microphone Quality: good enough. I just use it to talk with my squad/survivors/zombiesMaterial Quality: fairly light. feels sturdy but it definitely sounds better than it feels if driven correctly.Take care of these headphones by driving them properly and they will take care of you.

Pros: They sound great and are perfect for music/gaming/skype'ing.Cons: Extremely uncomfortable. I have an avg sized head and these things were just so tight after 20 mins I was getting a headache. Also, the cups are small, so your ears still get mashed and I was constantly readjusting and taking them off to rub my ears.For what I paid, this was unacceptable and had to return them. I've had many Sennheiser headphones over the years and this was the worst by far as far as comfort level. Not what I expected at all.

i bought this item specifically for gaming. like most consumers, i researched headsets exhaustively prior to my purchase. i had, repeat, had a budget, but after comparing multiple headsets i found i was willing to spend the extra money on a brand that has been getting great reviews and a reputation for quality for years.full ear coverage blocking out ambient noise which i found a wonderful change from my sets that allowed background noise. the set is on the heavy side so after a 4 hour gaming session i found i was a little tender around my ears, but nothing a short break couldnt cure.i confirm what previous reviewers stated about the inline volume control not being able to turn the sound all the way off. it gets quiet, but not muted. i do appreciate the inline microphone control though, as it was easier to mute myself that way than using in application controls, especially if you use hands free chatting options in ventrillo. i suppose i could hotkey a mute, but really, why do i have to now :)sound quality is brilliant. bass is a little weak, and i hesitate to use the word weak. its [bass] there but it wont make you rumble in your seat. highs and mids are crystal clear and even at high volume there was no loss of quality. i tried them out using some of my 'speaker twisting' musical choices from classical to breakbeat and they performed on par with my $500 7.1 system. im sure a pure audiophile can find fault, but i enjoy music and i found no reason for complaints.but here is something i was amazed by. my father came over and was fiddling around with my headset, explaining to me that his tinnitus in one ear was getting worse to the point of distraction. we searched together for some noise generators [pink,white, red/brown] online and tested them with the 350's. he found immediate relief. we played with frequency settings to get it just right for him and the headset responded to each change without fail even in ultra high frequencies. he then wanted to test water sounds as his doctor suggested they would help as well. i popped in a sounds of nature cd for him and he was like a child with a new toy on christmas morning. the only regret i have about buying these is that i have to buy another set today bcz he stole mine :Pbtw, sennheiser site has msrp at 239.00 usd. i got these for @119.00 plus i splurged on shipping making my coo @130.00. money well spent to bring my father relief. i hardly ever say this about a product, but ill do so here. get these

The microphone and ear transducers are the best I have tested. I've tried multiple Plantronics and Logitech models. My application is remote operation of a radio transceiver using Skype for the audio path. I am using an Apple MacBook Pro notebook. The mic level and voice articulation is exemplary. I no longer have to use any mic equalization.

I needed a headset that I could use on CQ100, Hamsphere, Skype, OovoO, and Echolink.The audio quality I am told is very good. The headset is comfortable and the cord is extra long. For the price it is the best headset I have had.

I have been borrowing these headphones from a friend (just to try them) and I have some feedback. I thought these headphones would have just about everything I was looking for; clear audio, good bass, good microphone, and good comfort. Unfortunately A couple of these were not as good as I expected. First I want to say that the audio quality is clearer than any other headset I have ever tried, but there is almost no bass. I see a lot of people saying that is does not matter but trust me bass shows, especially in a gaming headset. They are also very big and heavy. The ear cups are much too big to be comfortable and the material that touches the head makes you feel very warm and uncomfortable. The microphone quality is really good but for the money you can get a much better headset.

Just got these headphones for my Windows7 laptop. Windows recognized and installed the drivers in seconds, no problems. The headset is very comfortable and the sound quality is great. Skype calls are absolutely clear and music sounds great too. Just the right bass response and clear midrange and highs.Other reviewers said that there's no volume control, but there certainly is on the my set, it works great and has a mute button. The microphone swings out of the way when you're not talking.If you want a great sounding, comfortable, lightweight, usb headset for less than $60, then this will fit the bill.

Bought this headset for work. I had a single-ear headset but was having trouble hearing when I was on a conference call. This headset is great. Very clear. Has adjustable headband. The microphone is easily moved out of the way and is very clear (based on what my co-workers tell me). For the money, it is a great headset!

What I like: 1) quality of the sound - I would say it is very good, surprisingly good for that type of headset. I was buying them to use mostly for Skype, but ended up listening to music with them as well. Sound is very clear.2) Microphone works very well and quite selective, i.e. does not pick up almost none background noise. I tried recording my speech - it is very clear, so do people who I talk with sayWhat I would like to have better:1) I wish the headset was more sturdy and less bulky. I did put it into jammed backpack and traveled with it, but every time I was worrying the thing will not survive. So far it does.2) The way they fit - I have to move the connector somewhat closer to my forehead for phones to sit better. Minor thing, really. Maybe shape of my head matters. Doing that I can use them for hours with no problem.I own it for 3 months.Conclusion: headset is worth its price, I like it!

We decided to try these based upon the positive reviews about sound quality, comfort, etc., figuring we could manage the volume via the computer settings. WRONG! We just can't get the volume to a comfortable level, regardless of how we try...the volume is way too high. (We wanted to use it with Rosetta Stone online language program) If you use this headset for one particular application for wich you can get the volume at a comfortable level and stay there, perhaps these will work for you. For us, trying to adjust the volume at both the computer and online/program settings is way too tedious, and fruitless. Too bad; it seems, otherwise, like a nice headset.

Lots of long reviews up here that are very accurate, so I will try and point out something that I haven't seen in other comments. I was not very impressed with the sound at first, however after letting the headphones break in, the mids and lows have properly filled out and sound amazing.

I cant believe all the -ve reviews for this product.I have a fairly large size head and this headphone easily and comfortably fit on my head.The sound quality is simply amazing - for the first time I could hear frequencies which I had never heard on my cheaper quality headphones. The microphones are very sensitive - they can be parked, by turning them upwards or can be used to speak into them. I did not use the microphones for gaming purpose, but I did use them on a skype video call.Would I recommend this headphones to serious Gamers: Definitely Yes

Excellent quality, as advertised, the reviews raving about it are correct. Sound quality is very good, mic is strong and clear for listeners. love it, no issues. one note though. they are lightweight which is good in some ways but for those old fashioned types that think high quality things ought to be heavier you'll have to get used to them being light but still high quality. i do suggest that Sennheiser make a bluetooth version. love being able to walk around while talking on the headphone. they probably have done so already but haven't seen them.

I needed to switch from a separate headphone and desktop microphone set-up. I do a fair amount of on-line game play, and was receiving complaints that others couldn't hear my voice at all or was extremely low in volume. So I replaced my Koss on-year headphones and logitech desk mic with this product. I am extremely pleased with both the sound quality of the microphone and the headphones. Much improved bass quality over previous headphones and finally others can hear me in-game with no problem. I would recommend this product to anyone. Also, the comfort of the headphones are better than what I have been using. I wear glasses, so this on-ear set-up doesn't interfere them at all.

Bought to replace expensive overears for Skype/Ventrilo. Could not ask for more. The plastic holding the one side on came lose but a little tape and it's back to new. 4 stars as durability is lacking but mic quality and sound quality are top notch.

For the price, this is a really great headset. The sound quality is great.The only complaint I have is that after wearing these with glasses for a few hours, they can start to hurt my ears. Without glasses, they are comfortable, and the sound quality is well worth it for the price.

These headphones will not disappoint! By far the best sounding gaming headphones ive heard. I have the astro a40s and there is no comparison here. These are very light and comfortable. I have worn them for call of duty all nighters for over 6-7 hours with no problem whatsoever. If you are looking for sound isolation, you may want to pass these by. Alot of sound does escape out. I can have a conversation with my wife while using these at lower volumes. I actually prefer this kind myself and dont care for sound isolating headphones, especially for gaming because they get too hot and uncomfortable and generally have more messy sounding bass. These dont have TOO MUCH bass, but it is there and sounds good and not distorted. (The bass in these is alot better than in the a40s) I will say I use an astro mixamp in conjunction with these for gaming on the PS3 and it is a great little setup. My friends tell me I sound really clear when using the mic. I listen to music with them also and they sound great for music as well. When I listen to music I do not use the amp and they sound great on my sony vaio laptop without an amp. They are made of mainly plastic but dont have a cheap feel. They are built very well and look to be a set of headphones that will last a long time. I do have a gripe. for what these cost, they should include a case. But if you want a quality piece, you'll have to overlook that.

I have to say, this headphone's sound quality surpassed my expectations.I use it mainly for music and video calls and the quality is crisp clear.The mic works perfectly to, it hardly picks up background noises which is a plus.Only downside is that it doesn't fit my head perfectly, but i guess it's a matter of time before i get used to it.

First off, the shipping was exactly on schedule. The item came in a very impressive, hard to open, box. Upon first glance at this bad boy, I was really astounded by the professional look, feel and construction. I immediately plugged it in and went online to Call of Duty 5. Not wanting to play and just check out the sound, I went in spectator mode. As soon as the map loaded, I thought my eardrums were going to burst, as a grenade just went off nearby. Coupling this monster to the Auzentech X-Fi-Forte 7.1 and turning on the 3-d surround sound mode was like I was really there. The 3-D positioning is absolutely perfect and realistically clear. Whoever complained about the lacking bass was very wrong. Playing with the equalizer can really make the bass boom in your ears. The highs are crisp and clear. I use Ventrillo and was told I never sounded better. Microphone is very sensitive, you can practically whisper in it and the sound activation detects. Music wise, I went to Windows Media Center for a quick sound demo. Excellent. However, I did have to crank down on the higher frequencies on my equalizer. They were set very high for my cheaper headset. No distortion at loud volumes. The earcups will, after a while make your ears hot-not sweaty. The ambient noise is practically nill with these on as they cover your whole ear, and I have a very large head. The mike boom is expandable and firmly holds whatever position you put it in. I found the best position to be a little higher than your mouth. These are truly a beautiful, expensive looking and sounding headsets. The frquency response is above and beyond the norm 20-20, not usually found on other sets. While in game play, I keep taking them off thinking someone in the house is trying to talk to me but found that they were sounds I never heard before-people talking in the background. It really isn't overpriced for what you get. Going to the Sennheiser website I found a merchant (in Germany) that was selling these for over $500!!! When they first came out. If you want to hear ALL the EAX sounds in your game, as clear as clear can be with precise positioning, do youself a favor and get these.Only complaint is ears do get hot after a while, but removing for a minute corrects this. They are comfortable. The volume control does not shut the sound off completely, just lowers it to a certain level less than your main volume setting. Very long cord should allow you to get off your chair and walk a few feet away for whatever you might want.

I got these for Christmas (after I had them on my wish list) and they are 3rd set I have owned over the years of gaming headsets and these are by far the best. First and foremost to any gamer for me is comfort. The design is a little unsual when you first look up close instead of the classic U shape of most headphones these are more of a flat bottom U. At first, I wasn't sure of the approach but when you put them on you realize the difference in ergonomics that shape makes. The shape distributes the weight much more evenly and solves the tradeoff I have seen in other headphones between holding next to you ears verse squeezing your brain like vise. These are lite-weight and comfortable and can be worn for hours of gaming with no discomfort. Also I would like to add the ear cups are of superior quality. I had an old pair of logitech and the ear cups foam squished quickly to be almost no help and quickly started falling apart. These blow those away. Finally, second after comfort is the sound of both the mic on Vent and of course sound coming in from the earphones. Both are significantly better than previous headset I have owned.
