I actually purchased this product direct from Dell, since I had a coupon that made it cheaper than buying from Amazon. It is really easy to setup and I do notice a difference in speed. It is true what the other buyers are saying about problems, but that is the cost of investing into cutting edge technology. The good thing is that I did not notice any issues as noted from the other buyers, since the firmware that addresses guest wireless, performance, etc. were already available. I would highly recommend this router. Reason, Netgear is doing a great job in regards to putting out firmware updates that address the router issues. It is definitely fast and reliable with the latest firmware.

Compared to other routers, this one was considerably more expensive. The price was not a reflection of the quality. I have been battling this router for 17 months and I am done. Frequent drops and recently it is dropping so often the internet is unusable.Also, when you go to administer the router it repeatedly ask for the credentials. I put in the correct credentials and the box just keeps popping up. Hit cancel a few times and the administration page appears.

Read about setup issues, I found none of those, router has given me a whole house network and I even have great reception in my basement.

This thing is clean and sleek and my wireless blu-ray players are running as fast as I always hoped they would. Netgear is the only way to go for a router, at least in my opinion.

I use Amazon a lot to determine what I want before I buy.Bought this combo unit and after constant disconnects and dhcp lease drops, I harassed Netgear tech support to replace the unit. Got the second unit and after 2 months started doing the same thing again.Swapped to a borrowed Airport Express and no issues thus far.I do not recommend this product or the tech support that comes with it.

What I Love:-supports 802.11ac-superb performance-It comes with a nice mobile-app-enabled Web interface that's easy to use.What I don't like:-Bulky design-Its mobile app only works within the local networkOverall, 4/5

I got this to extend my wireless network from my den (converted bedroom) in the corner of our house. Our great room is on the opposite side of the house and has always had weak reception. Not anymore...

I recently bought this router at Best Buy and have had minimal problems with it. The actual set up was the more difficult process. Originally the system would not recognize the router nor the password. After completely turning off power to everything the router system was completely functional and all computers recognized the set up.Overall, this is a much better system for home/personal use. I have/had no need for the guest account and changing passwords on it is relatively easy and straight forward. I would give it 5 stars if it did not require turning off everything in my room.

Today is 8/06/2012; this product failed for the second time and when I tried to access netgear.com/support, I got myself an indian accent speaking scammer who asked for $299 to fix my computer after taking control of my PC and played around with it - Finally when I got the real Netgear support, they asked for $129 to help me fix the problem, claiming that their warranty only covers 30 days and that the new money would cover a whole year. Needles to say I keep falling in the hands of scammers and Netgear is certaily one of them. Make sure you have a good support when you buy any product; Netgear is not a one you can trust

I bought this router to replace my 7 year old router. I have had it les than 3 months and have constantly reset it. As of last night, I cannot even reset it. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

PRO : I just upgraded this router from WNDR-3700v1 To This beast and right out the box I can tell that the range is so much better for both 5ghz and 2.4ghz. I also love the fact that this router has AC the key feature which will provide 1GBPS on WiFi if you have AC Adapter at the receiving end. The Netgear Genie is nice too, Specially if you have a smartphone you can access your router from your Smart device as well. Only thing I miss on this router is a USB 3.0 thoughCONS : I think Netgear should have had USB 3.0 on this instead of USB 2.0 port since they have the new AC technology on this.

Up till now I have been a linksys cisco customer. For years I used a linksys wrt54g router. Then about a year ago I upgraded to the linksys cisco wrt610n ver. 2 router. I was getting a drop off in wireless signal in one corner of my house and I also had wifi connection problems with my motorola droid first generation celllphone.I just bought the netgear WNDR4500 (that is the model name). "N900" refers to the capabilities of the router, not its name. I am very pleased.This new netgear router has a stronger and farther signal, both in the "g" and "n" bands, compared to my previous routers. The corner of my house is now covered and my cellphone is getting a stronger and more stable wifi signal.Setup was very easy. The router ships with a unique ssid name and unique wireless password and the strongest encryption is enabled by default. It's all done for you so you don't have to do any customization (unless you want to).I previously had to use a linksys print server with my linksys router. Now my printer connects directly to the netgear via usb. Setup for this was also easy. Be sure to download from the netgear web page the usb software to make this work.This netgear seems to be a very "modern" router.The router can automatically find the latest firmware if you click on the upgrade link in the router's webpage. There is already a firmware update for this new router, which impresses me that netgear seems to be providing ongoing support to improve performance.I am very pleased with this netgear router.

I bouht this router expecting the maximum performance and easy setup. I used the wizard to get trough the setting and all went well. I recommend this router to anyone! Best buy for the money!

Like everyone has said...SUPER easy setup. Made sure to upgrade the firmware before doing anything else. Was able to make changes instantly, easily. Wireless Printer, network of computers (Macs and PCs), Apple TV, XBOX 360, AT&T Mobile Cell, and several mobile devices instantly loved the new wifi with no issues. Not to mention, I picked up some serious speed and stability in my network...and the range is incredible. Really happy thus far.

I Brought brand new 3 month ago, set it up, works great, then suddenly few days ago it just stopped working, router still connected to PC but receives no signal from modem whatsoever, modem works fine connected directly to PC, tried all troubleshooting ways, non of them works.NO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF #@#&, waste of money. 100 dollar down the drain. I will avoid this product and all Netgear product in the future like the plague of the 13th century.

just got it from staples for paying with tax today. Hook it up and update the firmware. Do a little set up and all set to go. It's really fast and good connection until now haven't drop a signal. The only thing that I don't like is it doesn't have a set up to control mac ip instead of just regular ip to get into the network. Like my old dlink it has that option to double secure no hacker can get in without the appoint mac address

Performance is a big disappointment indeed. And online support leaves much to be desired. I have had mine for 2 years, and unless I am within 20 feet of it with no wall in-between, wireless connection is very spotty. The push-button is a gimmick that I stopped trying to use after a month or so. Oh, and the router occasionally loses connection with the internet altogether. When this happens, the only way forward is to do a hard reset. I am now in the market for a new one. Netgear will not occupy a top spot on my list of manufacturers.

Of all the routers/access points I've owned over the years, the R6300's 2.4Ghz range is easily the poorest. This R6300 replaced my Netgear WNDR4000 which had excellent signal strength on the 2.4GHz band. The issue was evident right out the gate when my Netgear WN3000RP extender was displaying red signal quality which indicates <5MB throughput...it had worked flawlessly with the WNDR4000. I attempted to move the extender closer but really cannot get decent throughput unless *very* close.On the flipside, the 5GHz devices in the house are working much faster with the R6300 -- much better and faster than the WNDR4000.

Received and set-up the R6300 yesterday. Set-up was easy using the Web GUI. I have tested the range with multiple N and G devices and it is superior to my WNDR3700. No issues covering the whole house and I can get a weak signal at my car about 20 feet outside the house. I was concerned about the size of the unit but it is only slightly larger than my WNDR3700. Access to Ready Share USB drive seems faster than on the WNDR3700 but still slower than other NAS on my network.Update 6/13: New firmware update adds the Guest Network option into the Web GUI. Two weeks with the R6300 and it is still a great upgrade from my old WNDR 37000.
