Signal is strong throughout the house, even outside on the yard. 5G mode weaker but improves video streaming from file server and internet video services. USB HDD sharing works flawlessly from any device I've tried (androids, sony tv, PS3)

I bought his product from Amazon, have not used it for a while. I finally decided to replace my old Linksys router with netgear one. I had trouble logging into the netgear router using the default login creadentials given in the documentation. I called customer support and the representative instead of helping with simple issue, wanted me to pay for it, since the purchase was done over 90 days. The guy has horrible attitude, lacking basic attitude to help customers. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. PLEASE STAY AWAY.

I looked at the Netgear website and determined that this was the wireless router for me. I was a little hesistant to buy a refurbished because I have never bought anything like that. But this is Manufacturer refurbished, and came in a solid brown box with the Netgear logo on the box. Comes with a new ethernet cable, new plug in and some paperwork. There is no CD to install, but I did not need it. I went to the netgear site and typed in the model number and there were 3 pdf files for this router (manuals and setup picture), I saved those off in case I needed them. They also had drivers but I didn't download them.Plugged it all up and clicked on my internet access and started setting up the new router..clicked on the router picture and Windows automatically recognized the device and downloaded the drivers for it. Was up and running fully in less than 10 minutes, no hassle. Looks 100% brand new and was cheaper. Comes with a stand so you can stand it up right or leave the stand off and lay it down.

This is the first router, and I've tried 5 or 6 less expensive models of various brands, that transmits reliable quality wifi throughout my 1928 tudor cottage. Although the house is only 1750 square feet, the solid wood walls gave other models trouble even in the next room. It even works in the garage apartment where my daughter lives! Don't waste your money on cheaper models if you need a router to generate wifi in a large area.

Seems to have come up to my expectations. Do run into issues with IP conflict with my wireless printer and computer so had to connect the printer to the router. Problem now fixed. Recommend it if you have many devices and a high speed internet connection.

Since I cant test the ac feature i can only comment on the abgn. It works well enough familiar settings screens etc. Parental controls do not work pc or mac (the netgear utility for me at least) I just go to opendns and create my account set up my filter levels there and plug in the opendns dns ip's into the wan side of the router and boom that's it. Pain in the ass but hey it works.3 out of 5 for crappy tools and nothing special except ac and there are scarce devices out there. but I am ready for them now.

i recently purchased the wd mybook live 3tb external network hard drive, it has gigibit ethernet. i have century link (formerly qwest) and the modem they were renting me was pretty lame, especially compared to this one. the mybook live was not working very well and i suspected it was the modem that i had from qwest. i was pretty sick of renting the lame modem that qwest gave me and i decided to buy this product for $85 bucks (used, barely) it was a really good idea, i can tell within hours that is is WAY faster, plus now i dont have to rent a lame modem. i looked everywhere for a gigibit ethernet modem/router , newegg, bestbuy, here etc... one that didnt cost 300 bucks and everything i kept coming up with was netgear, so it looks like these guys are on the ball!note: during setup it asked me to verify that certain lights were lit up during the set up and they were not because century link aka qwest uses APPoE internet. what that means to you is that you have to call them to get a password and username to log into the isp, so do that before attempting to set this up if you didnt know that like me. i was trying to look it up on my non-smart phone since i didnt have the internet up and i found a story of cust having a really hard time with a rep who would reapeat "im sorry, we dont provide tech support for other modems then our own" well that didnt happen to me and its totally bunk if i happens to you, im a cust service rep myself. you would simply be asking information about your internet service not modem setup, you would need to call them regarding that matter, say, you accidentally erased/changed that info in the modem settings. so if that happens to you, just tell them that you are a cust service rep and repeat what i just said, lolHare Krishna!UPDATE: Dude, this modem is the BEES KNEES!!!

I purchased the Netgear RangeMax DGN3500 to replace the 2Wire 2701HG-B for my DSL line. It worked unbelievably! It has all has sped up. And I mean EVERYTHING: Streaming, Downloading, Uploading... With all of my devices that require Wi-Fi, this RangeMax router is PERFECT. You can only imagine the problems I had before having this router... I tried buying a different router prior to purchasing this one, but it was a piece of junk. It lasted me only 2 days. This one, however, works like a charm. Best part of it is, the setup is extremely easy! You will need to know your actual DSL SYSTEM password (not your eMail password) along with your complete eMail address. My old DSL connection dropped too many times a day to count... I use to think it was my lines, but evidently it wasn't. Glad I bought this item... And the experience with the seller was very smooth. A+++

This is a great router! We have five people and many devices in our house - five laptops, four PCs, two servers, multiple game consoles, TVs,, phones etc, and have never encountered bandwidth problems. I saw it streaming three Netflix HD streams and two FPS games wirelessly at the same time with no lag or video quality issues. I highly recommend this product.

This router is serving as an access point connected to a DD-WRT flashed router (by LAN) sitting in my basement.The wireless coverage is incredible! Every corner of my house including the garage has a strong and consistent signal. I haven't experienced connectivity issues with any of my gadgets, PS3, VPN or my PCs.Previously, I had an e3000 and RT-56U both configured as access points. I had several dead spots throughout my house and needless to say, both of these units have now been retired...

My old router had gone bad and needed to be replaced. I saw this unit along with the matching Netgear range extenders and matching wireless Internet TV adaptors. I bought all of these and now I was able to get complete and seamless wireless coverage over the entire house. Plus with the adaptors I was able to remove all the cables I had strung all over the house to connect wired equipment and still have the bandwidth to that equipment I wanted.

AC is the way to go for high speed, multi-channel wireless access.. and this is one well-built router. Looks great sitting on my TV shelf, but some might find the display lights a bit distracting. I like tech, so it doesn't bother me a bit.

Determined 1st router from NETGEAR was faulty due to firmware (indicated by Support). Thanks to Amazon return policyreceived the replacement router within two days, was easily setup using NETGEAR Genie software ( TV, Roku, Two Wireless Printers, Two other Computers easily setup wirelessly to LAN. Upgraded from Linksys E4200 V1 router (setup was donemanually) took longer to setup. So far, after approximately one month working just fine without any reboots!

I bought this, then tried setting it up. It did not work for what ever i would do. The netgear customer service did not help and it couldn't even pick up a signal . Hate it, save yourself the hassle and don't even think about buying it.

I bought this router for my new house. Previously I was using the WNDR 3700 in my apartment. Wanted something more stronger. WRONG. I use a Logitech Squeezebox and it just wouldn't work with this. Would not work at all with my Squeezebox server either. Went online for solutions and Netgear acknowledges the problem with WIFI yet they have no fix. They instead route you to forums that talk about the problem. Unbelievable. I've had this over a month and I can't return it.Ended up hooking the 3700 back up. Now I'm using the Squeezebox server again.Avoid this expensive boat anchor at all costs.

I was unable to get this wireless extender to work since it is impossible to access the web site needed to do the final activation. Fortunenatley I had no problem returning the product to Amazon. I would look at other reviews of this product before I purchased it.I have had similiar problems with Netgear before. This could be a good product if they could get their software act together.

I purchased the R6300 from Amazon. Impressive device. Installed without a hitch.Installed the updated firmware without a hitch. This device put my home network onsteroids. Worth every cent.

After reviewing many wireless routers I decided you get what you pay for. Have not had any wireless failures, like the old router, since purchased in early December (about 5 weeks). Had corrupted firmware when I tried to install router but Netgear support was great in assisting the installation of the firmware needed.

Very good router works great a lot better than my old one use it a lot with my ipad works good with my wifi computer sometimes they lose the signal it does not happen a lot their are a lot of networks in my building

I can't say much for Netgear's tech support or quality control, the first one was DOA. But Amazon came through with Flyin' colors. In less than 2 days I had 2 routers, installed and working great. At 120' I'm getting 3 times my previous speed. I just couldn't be happier.

I am very happy with this device. It automatically configured itself and connected to the internet and my devices easily connected also. I have not had any issues since and its very fast.

Router very easy to set up. I did use the advanced procedures for a few of my network devices. Just wish you could rename the devices using the browser log in. The Netgear Genie is OK. Router seems to be stable and covers my entire network in my house.

I have AT&T DSL and 2 computers running Windows 7 one 32bit and one 64bit. I bought this because my old Belkin wireless G couldn't handle 2 computers,Playstation 3,Blu Ray player and a kindle Fire. The setup was extremely easy and I'm a novice when it comes to wireless networks.The main thing is to READ the guide before you start and download the user manual from the Netgear site. I did have one problem. My wired computer would freeze up for a few second when I would start it and click the explorer icon but I changed the timeout setting in the genie to 0 and all is well.* Update 7/22: My network started hanging on startup and I'd get the blue circle over the connection icon. I found the culprit to be the Netgear Genie they wanted me to install on setup, I un-installed it and everything is working good. Other than that I'm very pleased with this router the performance is awesome!

This is a new product with the latest technology and NETGEAR is a good company however hold off & wait.This 11ac technology is not ready for prime time. There are really no 11a clients like laptops, phones, and game devices that can take advantage of this 11ac technology so too early and the technology not really being used.Plus this is not a 11ac certified product. This is a draft product so who knows if this router will work 100% or have interop issues with the certified 11ac devices that will ship next year/2013.This is a cool looking product with new technology by a good company in NETGEAR, but I realize it is to early for it and worth waiting.New 11ac products coming in Q1 with a better 11ac implementation, more client to take advantage of it, 11ac will be certified, and price should come down to get a better deal on Amazon. My take is to come back and buy a 11ac product from Amazon in 2013. Hold off, not now...
