I was hesitant to spend 200 on a router, and my fears were confirmed. The biggest appeal to me was the ability to access my printer through the router, however when I've plugged in the printer it will not see it. After reboot a few times and uninstalling/reinstalling drivers and Netgear utilities, same result, cannot find the printer. Giving up on this I fired up my laptop to check the speed. To my surprise I am not able to connect to the wireless network. After calling customer support I have been hung up on 3 times and put on hold for about 2 hours. Need I say more?---Update---After getting someone to finally help me, I solved the issue with my laptop myself while I was put on hold several times for the "tech" to find a solution. As for the printer problem, after verifying the USB ports work with another device the "tech" gave me the only solution as returning the item for a new one. This is after 3 1/2 hours of troubleshooting.

i think this would be an awesome modem except it didnt come with the drivers, i cant get the software onto my computer from the netgear website, and since my modem is referbished they wont help me without charging me. if you buy new they will help you for 90 days. thats rediculas.

I bought two R6300s to use as an Access Point behind my AT&T 2Wire DSL modem with router and as a wireless bridge. The Access Point configuration went smoothly and was successful. Configuring the Bridge was very difficult. I could not get the Bridge to work when the Access Point MAC address filtering was enabled ("Wireless Card Access List->Turn Access Control On" checked). It took a long time but Netgear Support was very helpful and got it to work with Access Point MAC address filtering enabled. The problem was that I had not entered into the R6300 Access Point's "Wireless Card Access List" the LAN MAC address of the device plugged into the R6300 bridge port. Congrats to Netgear on a great product and thank you to Netgear Support for excellent service.

First one to arrive had corrupted firmware. NetGear support advised swapping it for a new one, which I did. Second one works, installation was easier than expected. I have nothing further to add.

I have always been a Linksys guy, but I got this NetGear because the reviews were so good. This thing rocks. i have only had it a couple days...but i love it. The setup was simple and the wireless speed and range is CRAZY! Worth the money.

Purchased broken. Service was real good for netgear that is why two stars. Went back to store. returned and bought r6200 on accident, but didn't care so I kept it.

The other reviews for this router are very comprehensive so I will keep it short.Buy this router. It is the best in this price range. The coverage is amazing and I get near-wired speed on all of my 5ghz devices when in the same room with the router.It has been running with out a reboot or hiccup for over a month. Impressive in every way.The android app is incredibly useful. I can manage the entire network from my phone. It is really really nice.

Great router....period. Easy to set up, ability to bridge an addition r6300 for more range if need be. I can pickup 3 bars across the street in my neighbors house with no drop outs without bridge! Love this router. You can not go wrong!

Great router. Could not have been easier to set up. Virtually set itself up including bridging with the DSL modem. Fantastic wireless signal strength. Had absolutely no problems with this router at all. Highly recommend.

I had been trying to decide between this router and a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC 1750 HD Video Pro EA6500 but I went for this one after reading an online review for the linksys titled "A potentially great router in alpha state" (without the quotes) which you can google and read for yourselves. I'm so glad I chose NetGear :) 5 stars router

The WNDR3300 is/was an interesting product from Netgear that is crippled by Netgear's firmware. While the hardware is dual-band & dual-radio, the Netgear firmware doesn't let you use both radios independently. And off course it doesn't support features like creating a mesh network, functioning as a repeater, repeater bridge or client bridge. The hardware is also crippled by the size of the flash memory - only 4 MB, part of which (~400 KB) cannot be accessed. None the less, the router becomes quite powerful if you use the open-source firmware DD-WRT instead of Netgear's firmware. Even here, the size of the flash RAM limits the version of DD-WRT that can be used, but it is possible to use a build that has support for various functions including VPN, repeater/repeater bridge/client bridge, virtual LANs etc.One of the two radios supports 802.11n using the 2.4 GHz band or the 5 GHz band. This radio also supports 802.11b/g (2.4 GHz) and 802.11a (5 GHz). However, it cannot support both bands at the same time - so it is either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. If your wireless clients are just 802.11n and work in the 5 GHz band, this radio can be used to support them. The other radio is strictly 802.11b/g - so it works in the 2.4 GHz band. That cripples the router - permitting one to offer 802.11n either in the 5 GHz band or the 2.4 GHz band, but not both.The router only has internal antennas, and it is not possible to easily add a pig-tail. This limits the useful range of the router - especially in the 5 GHz band. When using DD-WRT, it is possible to raise the wireless transmit power to a much higher wattage; however, even when using a moderate transmit power like 60-70 mw, the router runs very, very hot. There are no heat-sinks on the chips, and presumably the heat will ultimately kill the router.I use several of these routers in a home network designed to transmit HD video/audio to the living room and bed rooms (in addition to networking printers, VoIP phones etc.). The routers themselves worked flawlessly, but the heat generated by one of the routers killed a blu-ray player that it was seated on. As it turns out, there's a relatively simple solution for that. The dome lights on the router can be popped out and disconnected easily from the main board. The hole left in place is exactly 50 mm in size - the perfect size to fit an internal fan. There are several 12V internal fans that pull less than 75 milliamps that can be purchased for less than $5; the router's power-supply provides 1500 milliamps, and even when both radios are used at 100 mw transmit power, the router itself draws about 800 milliamps UNDER LOAD.It was relatively simple to attach a 2-wire fan to the inner surface of the upper "lid" of a router and solder directly to the incoming power terminals on the main board. I also drilled two holes on the bottom surface to draw air over the main-board. This works very well, and both the top and bottom surfaces of the router are cold to the touch (the main board also stays cold). I've attached a couple photographs of the modified routers. The fans that I used were Sunon KDE KDE1205PFB2-8 (50x10 mm), purchased for $3 apiece. Needless to add, modifications like this will void your warranty; on the other hand, refurbished WNDR3300 routers can be picked up for about $30 ....

I have had this router for about 2 months. Great range and throughput on wireless!!! Doubled speed test results on my iphone from previous router and increased range as well. The GUI is a little different from my older Netgear router (Windows 8ish tiles), but was easy to navigate. Gigabit wired section works great as well!

At this time, I feel very difficult when looking for a product that better products.It is likely that in the future will be, and I am also waiting for it.Currently, this is the best as I know.
