Absolutely the most fun thing I've bought this year! I have horses and have taken some of the most beautiful videos while riding. I captured our beautiful fall in Michigan and the toboggan rides this winter!

These things have amazing quality in high-light situations. I filmed some great footage in pools underwater but the camera does not perform as well in low light.

I am really impressed with the overall quality of the camera. I have used it as a motorcycle helmet cam at speeds over 100mph and the video is clear and the mount is very stable. The 3m sticky mounts they provide give me a lot of confidence that they won't fail (unless you stick them on something that generates heat like the frame or near the exhaust.
My only gripe is the sound at high speeds. It gradually ramps up to a hiss that overcomes all other sound and is very annoying. I'll have to look into other solutions to cancel that.
Battery life is pretty solid and I would certainly choose GoPro again.

I really like my GoPro Hero 2 cameras. The cameras and their different modes work well. The mounts are easy to use and the adhesive is so strong I'm confident they'll never come off during a ride on my motorcycle. The adhesive is also forgiving. It is gum-like, so you can pull it off, using a lot of muscle, and re-attach it if you don't place the mount in exactly the right spot the first time. The waterproof case is excellent. I've dropped the cam while it was in its waterproof case into a pool of mud, it was totally submerged, and came out working just fine. Thumbs up.

It is everything it says it is. Just a bit tricky learning to use it since there is no view finder. Very clear and good sound.

This little camera has all the features I wanted for an "on the go" lifestyle that I have. It syncs up perfectly with my Mac and I love the fish eye camera. It has more customization than I had expected. I really like this camera and will be buying another one in the future.

Instead of watching extreme sports videos, you can create your own---from biking, skating, diving, playing football---we've used this for everything. It puts a new twist on family home movies, and begs you to get out and do more!

Just got it, and its so small it fit in your pocket. did some test vid and was a little down. but after the tech said due to the low light, and it was a very glooming day. that it takes it best in a sunlight or a blighter day. but the 11mp did surprise me/

The product came to me defective. I sent it back to Go Pro. GoPro service was great on the phone. Very helpful. Product of course was still under warranty but I still have no product after several weeks. You would think they would send out tested products wouldn't you? I hope they give me a chance to rate it after I get a chance to use it.

The Gopro 2 Hero is just awesome, this weekend I filmed during a 1,5 hour flight with my parameter over the land and sea and shot an excellent movie of a friend of my flying beside of me with his paramotor. The Gopro gives very sharp HD quality video without any trace of movement so sharp and clear.

No sure what is all that fuzz about the new GoPro HD Hero2.
As a professional photographer I will put the GoPro HD2 on the same level as cheap chinese camcorders in terms of image quality. Very disappointing in my first test when using 1080P.
Unless mine came with factory problems or it doesn't play well in Apple Quicktime codec, I can just imagine how bad should be the original GoPro if this later model totally fail in every in terms of image and sound quality. Low light recording is absolutelly impossible and even in medium lighted situation you can see a lot of artifacts in the image, including color distortions and lots of noise of all kinds.
The only good side is that it's small and has acessories that let you mount it easily in almost any situation, including on a surfboard for what all versions include a waterproof case.
But don't expect image quality to be not even near the big brands small point and shot cameras videos that can also do 1080p.
GoPro is only good for small window size youtube videos and when recording in 60fps during a bright light day. Gorget about the advertised 1080p videos with this camera.
If you are not after the small size and practical accessories line that GoPro offer, don't even think, go straight for a similar priced Sony, Nikon or Canon small point and shot cameras with 1080p video capabilities, you won't regret when it comes to image quality. GoPro HD Hero 2 should cost no more than U$100 for what it offers, it is nothing more than a toy!

I've been looking for a camera to use in low light conditions, in partcular regarding cave exploration. I tested the GoPro2, Contour Roam, Contour 1080 and the Oregon Scientific ACT9K. I used a Magicshine MJ-872 LED headlamp and tested all of the cameras in my basement at varous lighting levels. The ACT9K performed the worst regarding video. Both the Contours performed the same, but the GoPro Hero2 performed the best. The video from the Hero2 had the least amount of noise/pixelation and the picture clarity was quite good. I ended up keeping the Hero2, but I have some reservations which is why I gave it only 4 stars. The audio performance of the Hero2 was more stiffled than the other cameras. Also, it is a bit more complication to operate than the other cameras. The Countour Roam was extremely easy to operate, and I generally prefer the cylinder shapes of the Contours and the ACT9K over the boxy looking Hero2. I would like to see GoPro offer a narrower field of view than 170 for other than 1080/30fps. A 170 degree field of view is a little too distored for my tastes. The competition offers a little more flexibility. If you are making a buying decision based on video performance in low light, then the Hero2 is your best choice. GoPro also offers a very strong line of mounting accessories, much better than the competitiors.

The camera met my espectation. I've used it for a while in the water. The problem for me is when you see the movie the others look more distant than they are. And the battery life is short but I solved it buying another one.

This camera is great. The video quality is amazing, and the things we captured with it already during MTB rides are priceless. My friend's Hero2 took incredible impact, being sheared off of his helmet by a log over the trail, and it suffered virtually no damage (you should see the video, though!). They are tough.
The only con is the user interface / LCD. It is like something from 20 years ago, but it gets the job done.
The files it creates are huge, so have lots of disc space if you what to keep them. Don't forget to buy a Class 10 SD card; it does not come with one.
If you are into mountain biking or other action sports, you will really enjoy a GoPro!

I bought this for my son, he use it when driving, skateboarding, and just messing around the house. For the price I think it should have come with an HDMI cable, but other than that, it is a great buy!

What can I say... It is a GoPro2. Crazy versatile little camera that provides wonderful HD resolution. Love the various wide angle settings as well as the slow-motion feature. The time lapse photo sequence features are amazing as well. I got the "Motorsports" edition which comes with an assortment of mounts. The only down side is- all the mounts were suction cup or sticky surface mounts. Would have been nice to include a clamp mount or two. I ended up getting the 1/4 inch, tripod-to-GoPro mount adapter to go along with some standard clamp mounts that I purchased. This gave me many more mounting options: I could place on my tripod for time lapse shots. I could place on my camera jib as well as any camera mount clamp that has a 1/4 inch bolt base. I would have given this kit 5 stars if it had included the standard tripod-to-GoPro adapter.

I have loved this camera for over a year now, I have the new one and its way better but the Hero 2 never let me down and we use them on Baja 1000 cars in the middle of the desert at 100+ mph.
