What a perfect purchase!! this camera is perfect for recording sports and it behaves wonderful in most of weather conditions. I got the Motosports edition but unfortunately it did not include an accessory to mount the camera in the handle bar.
The only problem I have is that just after a few months I bought it they release the new hero3... thanks for the heads up..

I bought the HD Hero2 for my boyfriend and a few months later you guys came out with the HD3. WTF?! Anyways, it works great. The quality and the slow mo feature is just awesome. I will say that I didn't like how bulky it is and I'm surprise they don't have a thinner camera yet. Buyers beware, the accessories that you will ultimately need to purchase is extremely expensive. Otherwise, it's a great camera for outdoor sports.

Great clarity; I like the 127 ratio better than the 170. Have been playing with different settings & finding what I like best. I haven't figured out how to mount the adhesive in winter conditions yet (want to mount on vehicle, but our temeratures have been below zero so the adhesive won't stick).

I use it for a number of different outdoors sports as well, but I really wanted the suction cup mount for my car. Love the package of mounts it came with. This makes all my travel 10x more exciting.

I had previously bought the first gen. GoPro Hero. At first it was hard to remember what settings are what until I got the LCD screen attachment for it.
This however, GoPro Hero2, I feel I don't need to buy another LCD screen attachment for it. The little digital screen on the front of the camera makes it so easy to figure out how to set up the type of shot you want. I'm glad I bought this one.

With the new firmware update, my GoPro has been losing or not even recording entire video clips and mysteriously running out of battery. Then comes yesterday... I was riding in the carpool lane when a car decides to change lanes over double lines right in front of me. I thought I wouldn't have to worry because I had it on and recording. Turns out that it stopped recording halfway through, and my hopes of concrete evidence vanished.

Good Camera for taking action photo's and video's. Only bumber is I had mine for about ten month and lost it in the surf. I'm sure if I would buy another cause they cost to much!!!!!

The suction cup mount is what you are paying extra for but you can buy it separately anyhow. I also recommend the dive housing if you ever want to use the camera under water.

used it for over a year and loved it. if you are taking it under water, you need to get the flatport housing, and magic filter. i also recommend the lcd screen, and the wasabi battery packs.

Have been looking to get this camera for a long time but couldn't justify purchasing a digitial camera/video recording device for $300 that doesn't have a LCD display... But now that the Hero3 is out (and $400+ for camera & mounts I wanted) the Hero2 lost a $100 of it's purchase price!
The Hero2 is everything it's adversitised as and more! Much more "Professional" than I'm used to but and easy learning curve!

I got the gopro on time. I was very excited about it and right out of the box it was packaged like an apple product. I really liked the packaging and the camera is great. It works perfectly except that it sometimes freezes but they will probably fix that with a firmware. I tested the camera out, I put it on the roof of the car and the video quality definitely is HD. The 120 fps is awesome except for it only being available on WVGA. The underwater is kind of blurry but I already knew about that. But I would recommend this camera to anyone who does some kind of sporting activity. I use the camera basically everyday

The product itself is good as I expected. What I want to remind you before purchasing Hero is the voice receiver on the camera is poor. If you want to have a good audio with you video, better buy an extra skeleton housing ($33) and an external mic. And even a cheap mic can significantly change the sound quality. You can search via Youtube to see the sound test.
The Hero 3 was announced 3 days after I got Hero2 sports edition. So Heor2's price was reduced by $44. Amazon is kind enough to refund the difference to me. That's why I rate 5 star for this staff.

I use a GoPro nearly every day for work (tourism). When they announced the Hero2 was "twice" as good as the Hero1, I was rather skeptical. Then some workmates got Hero2s.
The biggest difference for me is that not only is the foreground in focus and clear, the background is... everything is... it's all clear as a bell. The menus are easier and the additional settings are through the roof. I've got the wifi remote and I'm patiently awaiting the android app for it.
I'm not a fan of the new "Cineform Studio" upgrade path as there is no way to upgrade without Windows or Mac (I'm Linux), but most people will find this a nice feature. If you are Windows or Mac, it is a very easy process.
I'd struggle to find bad things to say about this camera. Sorry as I know the "Cons" are typically the most useful part of a review.

I can't even begin to describe how much this camera has changed my world. What used to be just a bike down the beach boardwalk or a surf is now a moment in my history and a youtube video that I can share with my family back east. I love this this thing so much and highly recommend to anyone as it opens up the door to you trying and doing so many things you never thought you would!

The only problem I have had is if I record video then the stop the recording and allow the 60 second shutdown to happen, when I go to turn it back on it freezes up and the only way to get around it is remove the battery. I have done a little research and think it may be related to the new firmware upgrade but not sure. One thing is for certain, it's really annoying when you are and about trying to film, which is the whole reason I bought it.

So I got this for a little cheaper than usual again. Easy installation. Put it on a bike and a helmet. Blink the light and start the action. The motion image quality is top notch. The photo feature is lame. I'll just use it for vdo only. A very fun cool things in 2012. Now it has hero3. So get it if the price is good.

Great quality in a small package. Can be used as a camcorder, if needed. Just don't place too much on the internal microphone. Mainly use it to record wide angle band halftime shows with another camera getting the audio. Use Avid Studio (Pinnacle Studio) to synch up the tracks and fade to the close up cameras.
