I'm a paranormal investigator and thought this would benefit my research. I also purchased a chest mount for my GoPro. I used it for the first time last week, as I'm reviewing my findings... the audio on this cam is so POOR, I couldn't hear nothing but mumbling and yes I had this on the correct way (fits on one way). My favorite part IS reviewing my audio, NOT really impressed GoPro and this cam was at the cost of a pretty penny.

First two got lost in filming accidents while wakeboarding. Learned my lesson on how to secure the camera. Also, the floating door included with the surf kit is the real solution, if the camera gets detached, it just floats. Perfect. Quality of the image is second to none. Just awesome.

GoPro packs a lot of features in a small package. I use it in a car used mostly for track events. The quality of the video is excellent and the mounting bracket and accessories allow you to put it just about anywhere. I had it on the outside of the car traveling at over 130MPH without a problem. I also bought the LCD back which I would recommend. Part of the price of the compact size is that any adjustments are made with the small panel in front. The LCD screen helps and you can also use it to aim the camera as well as to view video or pictures. I would also recommend some kind of video editing software. It doesn't have to be exotic but because there is no remote you end up having a lot of extra video before and after the stuff you want. The only problem was that the mounting bracket was broken (reason for 4 vs. 5 stars). I guess I should have checked before I left. It would have been a disaster at the event but I was able to purchase a used one there for $15.

I use it on my ultralight and it does a great job. Wish the buttontry was a bit easier to use but thats what you get for such a nice little size. Would recommend.

GoPro HD Hero2 is AMAZING!!! Truly praise worthy. I own five and use them all in all kinds of broadcast production setups.
What I can no longer take and turns my stomach is the careless, obscene packaging. TONS of Plastic, TONS of cardboard, packages inside of packages inside of other packages.
WHO in their right mind, with moderate intelligence continues to assault on our environment by marketing this way!?!?!?
I'm only an average consumer with a conscience and I believe if more people voice their opinions GoPro will step up to the plate and rethink their terrible packaging.
Ironically, I use several of these for documentary shooting for the SURF RIDER foundation, a group that is trying to shed light on the massive islands of floating garbage in our planet's oceans.
Not everything in our civilization needs to be triple wrapped and double bagged.
That is why I'm only giving this product as a whole only two stars because of the obscene environmental impact.

I wouldn't recommend this as a first camera because it isn't very versatile camera. But we bought it because both my daughter and I are fascinated with time lapse photography. Overall, I think it is overpriced. We also bought the wi-fi remote and couldn't get it to work. my macbook pro couldn't find it.

Great camera. Have used on long distance motorcycle trips. Video quality is excellent. Camera seems like it is very durable with the case. Definitely water proof, tried it out in the pool. I definitely recommend giving the GoPro a try.

Bought this for a friend because it was the cheapest available. He uses it for racing and says that the quality is good. I think one of the best videos to watch to see these babies in action is Ken Block in San Fransisco, which is uploaded on Youtube.

I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. After doing my homework, I purchased the Hero2 as opposed to the Hero3 being that the quality and functionality is much better than the newer product. Awesome price for a fantastic product! My husband loves it!

As a skydiver, Harley rider and resident of Utah, I decided to purchase a Gopro Hero2 and also a DSLR for a upcoming trip. The Gopro,which a large number of skydiving friends all seem to own also, worked so very well that many people who have seen the videos for this trip have commented on not only how well the camera worked but that it "takes better pictures than your DSLR"! That is probably not true but it's ease of operation, small size and excellant pictures make it a wonderful addition to my gear list. The accessories available are next on my list. Excellant product!!

Purchased as a gift for our son...he's able to take awesome pictures and videos and then view on the laptop or tv. Camera is very durable, includes waterproof case for shooting underwater - (think reeling in a catch). Ideal for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors.

Do not purchase any GoPro products. I have been trying to reach their help like with a problem since the day after Christmas. I will be returning my GoPro2 today. BTW I got through to GoPro Sales in 2 seconds. Do not sell when you cannot service.

Don't waste your money. This is advertised as being good in low light situations. It isn't. The video it takes has a distorted look -- a rounded effect. I bought it to film wildlife. A deer or bird that is only a few yards away will look like it's three times the distance away. I filmed deer that were forty yards away and you couldn't see them on the video. I'm really disappointed in this product. I just wasted nearly $300.

The mounts are weak and GP knows it, but they won't tell you that unless you call to report the problem, and they are not interested in a fix. My adhesive mount came right off my helmet during a roll in whitewater. I don't think the camera even hit anything, but the side of my helmet did. Google <go pro knocked off> and you can see others with similar experiences, even on dry land.
I called just to report the problem, and got nothing but attitude. The GP guy I talked to first tried to say the adhesive was not the problem, because it is "industrial strength", then went on to say that alternatives such as the vented strap mount are just as failure prone if the camera takes any kind of hit. As I say, I don't think the camera got hit, jut the helmet it was mounted on.
He recommended I buy the "floaty back", since mount failures are a given. He apparently has not spent a lot of time in Class 4 rapids, because the odds of retrieving a small item in heavy whitewater are not good. The camera case needs to have a tethering loop built in, so if the mount fails, the camera won't get away, but the tech guy just did not want to hear it.
I loved the movies it took, but as a practical matter, it's an expensive risk to run at least if you are in moving water.

The product will be tagging along with his skiing, snomobiling, hunting and even diving trips! It's pretty amazing to watch as he has already used it many times. :) The HD video quality is great. He was very pleased with this gift for sure.

I used this to record my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception. One battery and one 32 Gig Sandisk Extreme SD card was all we needed from 6pm-10:30pm and the result was great. It gives a bit of a fish eye as it is wide angled but since you have no viewfinder that is the best way to do it. Guessing to aim it actually worked. I used the skeleton body which opens it up for sound to get through, mounted on a tripod with the GoPro tripod mount and attached a Sony external microphone which I'm not sure you need. Great result!

Opened the package and followed directions to turn on camera. Could not get it to work. Everytime I try to call GoPro for support there is no answer and I get the message that there call volume is too high and to call back later. Might return

I bought it for a gift for my husband. His eyes lit up when he opened. Now we have videos of everything from mowing the grass to hunting deer. Can't wait to use it for scalloping.

The previous hdhero was the consensus best helmet cam on the market and now with the hdhero2 there is absolutely no doubt which one is best. These are just the imporvements that are relevant to me:
1. The screen is MUCH easier to navigate through and gives you a lot more info while filming than the previous hdhero. Resolution, wide angle/medium wide angle, battery life, remaining recording time on sd card, mode, and record time are all on the screen at the same time.
2. The beeping is louder. With the previous gopro if you had the waterproof housing on it was hard to hear. Not anymore.
3.New super slow mo option. You can now shoot at standard definition at 120 frames a second which lets you play back at incredibly slow mo. On the previous go pro the maximum was 60 frames per second. So you can now go twice as slow.
4. If I'm not mistaken this motorsports editin comes with more mounting hardware than the original hdhero.
Although this is advertised as having a lens that's 2x clearer than the original hdhero I really can't tell a difference. The hdhero had great 1080p quality, not much to improve on there.
There wasn't much to improve on over the previous gopro and now there's even less. I have no idea what they are going to do for the hero3. 120 frames per second in 720p I guess. GPS speedometer would be cool.
Anyway, if you can afford this, get this. Don't even look at the other helmet cams. If you can't afford this then get the previous hdhero as it is now on sale and is better than any of the other options. The only helmet cam that offers something that hdheros don't is the contour hd with gps.

This is a very good camera and at a very affordable price point. It takes extremely good stills and great video. The mounting kits are great, the only real problem is the lack of display. The GoPro LCD Bacpac is a must have addon accessory to my mind but with it this is a great camera.

This camera works well but converting to a viewable video is very difficult! I even bought a new computer with a faster processor, and thats no better. Looks like I need to buy a expensive program to properly view my videos! The marketing of this camera is good, they just dont tell you all the hidden costs. another problem is that the picture is washed out if the sun is not directly at your back.

This gopro hero2 is awesome. I have mounts in my 5.0 GT and my Lightning. I take movies all the time and qualtity is awesome.
I wish this product came out @ ten years ago when I racing moto-X and hare scrambles.
