This is a good small network connection point for home only .This unit has 100 MB ports X5 no management strickly L2.Very basic no frills ..good for cost

Works as advertised. Easy Plug and play. Would recommend. Can't beat the price. Only had one month so can't comment on reliability but seems to be okay.

This switch does what it should. At first I was surprised at how small it was, I thought it would be larger for some reason, but it fits in my hand.I bought this because I computers and printers in my office that I wanted to be wired to the network, and all the ports on my router were taken. This is a great switch for the money, and seems very reliable.

Well, I can't say I know all about Ethernet switches, but I know that this works great, especially for the price. My one problem is that if I place it next to the edge of a table, The front of it is lifted off of the table by the cables. This was easily solved by placing something under the cables so that they couldn't pull straight down on the port. It is very light, and works instantly. Great!

This product gets the job done. I never would have thought that something so cheap would be so efficient. Been using it constantly for well over a year and it has never failed me yet. If there is an interruption with my connection (which has been rare) it is usually because of my ISP. I recommend this to all who need this in conjuction with a router. I do not trust wireless internet and have had many discrepancies with it.

We recently got new machines at work and being software developers, we have a lot of software that needs to be installed and tested prior to getting rid of our old machines (which can take more than a week) so we needed extra network ports in our offices.With the price of this switch being under $15, I ordered 1 for myself and 1 for another developer. Took it out of the box, moved the cable from my machine to the switch and put a patch cable from the switch to my 2 computers and it worked with no problem, and I have room for 2 more devices as well.The unit is very small so it takes very little space on my desk. The case is a little warm, but not overly hot. Have had this in place for about a week now and have had no problems with it and have not noticed any issue with speed.A great little product.

I was given one of the 5 port models of this switch about eight years ago and even though it already had a few quirks (had to be powered off/on occasionally), it served well for my needs.I recently replaced it with this model and haven't had any issues. Unbox, connect cables and power on. Not much more to it than that. The casing is tough and pretty small. It sits on a shelf beneath my desk next to my xDSL modem. Would definitely buy again.

read the earlier comments and liked what I saw... especially the price and the tips on how to make it work out of the box...ordered it and worked like the comments said... especially happy since I've never worked with a network switch and was somewhat confused on their capabilities vs. routers which I've worked with... I've only had it a month or so and will be monitoring for durability and longevitiy per earlier comments... but following the suggestions worked immediately without even having to do any setup ... I'm using it to gain ethernet access from a single (expensive) HPNA remote plug tied to my ATT UVerse router/gateway on other side of house... and using it to connect individually to the ethernet network a remote PC desktop and my HP OJ6480 printer (in same room and don't have to have the desktop PC on to print) with no problems... and can easily print from my wireless PCs and other laptops anywhere in the house via the network and gateway.

great product at a good price, connected all my ethernets in and had no decrease at all in connection speed. was packaged well, this is a good buy definitely reccomend it

This does all it should and works great in a office environment. I like the "green" aspect and it looks nice, but does that really matter? Maybe a little. 10/100 switches are such a commodity and I think this one gives good value.

I bought three 5-Port and one 8-port on these same item product a while ago and to date it never fails. It works as intended. I highly recommend this product.

This product is a great value and performs with ease. At first I wasn't sure which port the dsl cable plugged into, then I realized it was a star connection. So, it doesn't matter which port you use or how many the switch does the work! This is exactly what I wanted without the high price. Thanks!

I bought this Ethernet switch a couple months ago and was afraid to use it because I am not very technical. The other day I decided it was time to get it out of the box; it looked simple enough but the book was unclear so I decided to call their support. I called support and it was easy enough to get to a human who spoke good English ... in a couple minutes he helped me set it up and although he said I won't be able to be on the internet with 2 computers at once with out a router ... I do not have a router and I am on 2 computers on the internet at once! It is really cool.The box is very simple: slightly tacky blue plastic with a port for power and 5 Ethernet ports.To me, their directions are useless, it does not explain exactly how to set it up. All I had to do was take the Ethernet cable that came out of my modem and used to go into my computer, and plug it into any port on the Trentnet box, and then take additional Ethernet cables and connect them from the Trendnet box to additional computers and there it is! Their booklet said things like "The surface must support at least 1.5Kg for the switch" - I have no idea what that means.Anyway, I am using it, it is great, they were easy to deal with and I am happy.

I needed two devices to operate from one ethernet connection. This switch is inexpensive, it works well and I didn't have to run another wire for my second device. It is an effective and easy answer to a sticky problem.

I purchased this switch in May of 2010 because I needed a switch to use more two PC's in a room with only 1 connection to the network. Why did I choose this product, exactly? It was because of the price and stellar reviews here on Amazon.com.This item is exactly what it appears to be; a small 5 port Ethernet Switch that works. I received the product a few days after ordering it. I plugged the switch in to the network, and two computers into the switch. Everything worked perfectly. I couldn't ask for a better experience =)

I have 2 computers sharing the same Ethernet cable. Before I have to keep moving the Ethernet cable from computer to computer to be able to get on the internet, now I do not have to do that. This switch solved my problem. very easy to connect and use and do not use any extra space

I bought two of these to use with my UVERSE receivers. My UVERSE is connected with COAX so the Ethernet port on the receiver is unused.I plugged the Trendnet switch in to the UVERSE receiver's Ethernet jack and now I have four new Ethernet ports to use for my Blu-Ray, WII, Popcorn hour etc. Worked immediately and has been working for six months without issue. I also have one room where I have a Ethernet UVERSE hookup (vs a COAX) and there I use this switch to connect both the UVERSE receiver and a PC to the Ethernet jack. Also works like a charm.So this is a very basic unit and all plastic but for the price it is perfect. I also use a Linksys switch (works great) and a netgear switch (does NOT work).But I think as far as value for money goes the Trendnet is the winner. Will be buying more of these as I need more switches.

This ethernet switch is one of the best buys I've ever made; well packaged and very well designed. The size is perfect...no larger than necessary, and it worked flawlessly right out of the box. I connected the modem to port#1, and two pc's to ports #3&5 - booted 'em up, tested the line speed (dsl), and tested with both operating simultaneously - narry a glitch. Did I mention it a GREAT PRICE ALSO??? If you're worriedabout drive-by-snooping via your "wireless", and you've got a reasonable way to run ethernet, I highly recommend this product.

I bought this because my roommate and I could not go on the internet at the same time due to the fact that there is only one ethernet port in our room. It works like a charm and we haven't had any problems. It was really easy to set up too.

My old hub was giving me problems with connections getting dropped every so often. I choose TRENDnet for the replacement because I did not want to spend too much. Now my three home computers are now running without any problems at 100 Mbps. For the price, this little switch is hard to beat.

Bought this for my TV and blue ray home theater, to connect both to the internet. Small, stylish, and FAST. Love it!I purchased several 8-port versions of this unit for work, and have been equally pleased.Overall a GREAT value. If you consider what you are getting for the price, you can't go wrong

This product is very good. It's just out of the box solution. I have connected my HD internet TV and ATT Uverse box to this. No impact to the speed, my internet tv work's fine, no buffering issues.

This is a simple equipment that performs flawlessly. No special instructions required. Works like a charm ! I have this connected to my router and feeding into all A/V equipment - TV, Receiver, PVR and B-ray.
