I bought this product hoping to split one ethernet line between two laptops. It did the job perfectly. It does not need any setup or anything. I just plugged the line from the modem to its designated port and then two lines to the laptops. It was that simple. And the speed is fine too.

Use switch to run ps3 and xbox. works great and was cheaper than buying online than in the store. Very happy with product and would recommend.

This I'm sure for most is a helpful little device. It was extremely easy to use, just plug and go, however I meant to have a device that would split one internet input into several outputs for my computers. This device will NOT split your internet among other computers. It even says it right in the booklet, so if thats what your going for than dont buy this. I should have taken a better look at what I ordered, however in a rush I got the wrong thing. But the device is nice and is useful and easy to use. Just make sure you read all the details :)

This switch works great and is inexpensive. I plugged it into my router and it worked instantly. I then plugged my PS3 into one line of the swith and my Roku for Netflix in another line. Works like a charm. A+++

I own about 4 of these at home. I have a main router upstairs and these scattered around the house to keep the connection going. They are so easy to use. Serious when I say plug and go that is all that is needed. No screwing around with the IP address or determining if you need DHCP or DMZ, anything. I ordered another just to take with me to the office or class in case I need to share a wired connection on my laptop.

Works great, plug it in and it does it's job, have been running it for about 5 months now to run the ethernet cable to my LG blu ray dvd player and stream Netflix. Price paid was resonable and quality is on par can't complain!

I haven't explored any advanced features but I just wanted something to allow me to use more devices with my existing router and this product did exactly that without any complicated steps. Works great!

Lightweight, cheap, and flimsy construction. Worked like a charm for a bit. But after about 6-7 weeks the thing just died. Save your money, get a better, more reliable brand the FIRST time you purchase this type of product. Otherwise prepare to be back here looking again in 2 months.UPDATE: After the above item broke, I purchased the "Netgear FS105NA Switch 5Port Metal" and it has worked perfectly ever since! If you are looking for a better version, try that one.

I had really bad wifi reception. I bought some power-line adapters and it improves my connection and now games don't lag and skype calls don't get dropped. I have more than one thing to plug in though so I bought this network switch which solves my need to plug in all my gaming systems and my PC together into my adapter. It works extremely well. The plastic on the outside is a little cheap but I expected that and the lights are a little bright but this thing sits behind my desk anyway.

I purchased this switch for my home theater. Just about every device I add to the home theater has its own network connection and for gaming and streaming movies, wireless just does not do the job. This device replaced an older 5 port Cisco switch that had developed a bad port after 2 years. This switch feels like it is of a much higher quality build and is easy to set up.

I bought this half a year ago. And I gotta say. I have had problems with similar products. And I have had no problems with this. All I did was plug in my main Ethernet to provide a internet connection. And then just plug everything in. And it just worked flawlessly. No software you need to install, No configuring, No need to do any settings. Just simply works. This really deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating. And I would buy it again.

Like many here, and many users around the country, I needed to split one ethernet cable between an ever-increasing horde of internet-capable devices. Folks, ethernet cable is not like phone cord - unfortunately, you can't just buy a Y-splitter. But guess what - with this little blue network switch, which is just as cheap as most splitters, you can get everything you need done.I use this switch to split one cable internet connection between my PS3, internet-capable TV, networked Blu-Ray player, and home theater PC. So this fit my needs perfectly - one input and 4 outputs. All 4 devices work perfectly, and there is no noticeable speed reduction compared to a direct hookup to the bare cat5 cable. It was literally a plug and play proposition - no setup at all. The switch does come with a "wall wart," a small AC adapter that pulls a relatively paltry 1.3 watts when plugged in.I'm writing this review to make things easier on people who want to do what I did but not go through the research and trial and error that I did. Don't waste your money on a splitter! At this price and with this ease of use, this network switch is your best bet. I don't even really mind that it's blue, at this price.

Don't bother with this, unless you like SLOW loading of websites. If you don't mind leaving your computer to do something else while you wait for a site to load, then buy it. If you're looking for something fast, look some where else.I'm very disappointed with this item.

I put this in place of a 2nd router on my network and it was the best thing I did for my network. Makes everything so much simpler. It's whisper quiet and stays cool. Looks cool too. Looks larger in pictures than is really is.

I am using this switch to connect my bluray dvd and x-box to my wireless network. It was simply a matter of connecting the cables and power, and the system was operational. I have used it for about a month with no problems. A very good value.

I bought this to split the ethernet connection for my work computer in two so I can browse the web on my personal laptop at the same time. As stated previously, set up is simple and is true plug and play. You have to remember to have an extra 2 ethernet cables. Your source ethernet cable from the wall goes into the switch and one cable comes out of the switch to your work computer and the other to your personal computer. It doesn't matter which jacks they go in. The switch detects the input source and then makes all the other jacks output sources. I thought there might be comapny firewall issues, etc. but I've had no problems at all for weeks now and the browser speed is more than adequate. I don't download so I can't comment on those speeds. This is an excellent value for the price.

I'm no computer expert, but I needed extra ports for my wireless router. I ordered this switch based on the ease of use others were claiming. I had my doubts, but now I'm a believer. They were right. I simply plugged it in and it worked! No configuring, no reading instructions, no searching online for a manual. Plug and play away. If you're looking for expensive, complicated technology look elsewhere. This switch is cheap and easy--just the way I like it (insert your own joke).

I purchased this item because I needed to connect my LCD TV and computer to my AT&T Uverse enternet. I was tired of moving my enternet connection back and forth. This divice is like a splitter and allows you to connect up to 4 devices (i.e. laptop, xbox, enternet capable TV) and all work at the same time. This device is EASY to use, literally plug and play. You plug in the power cord and connect all ethernet connections in any slot and your ready to use your devivces. Just remember to purchase a ethernet wire for every device your connecting. The item is suprisingly small approx. 3"x5". I'm very hapy with the product and it's just what I needed. I purchased the item for less than $13, great deal!

I bought this to possibly replace an older 10/100 startech switch I was using for my kids desktops, which were newer. Although it worked, I was not impressed, because the throughput never got beyond 2MB for transfer between desktops or other computers throughtput the house. This is a wired home, with basement runs for each outlet and connected to a 110-block like panel. The other thing I noticed was that, it would stutter if left "on" all the time. Unlike a lot of networking equipment (like my 10-year old DSL router, or the internal Dlink router), the life of this unit is not that long (according to the tech support, they asked me to shut it down when not in use). That is why i took away a star from the ratings. I have this unit back in storage (for possible future use) and still use the old startech, which has stayed on for nearly 5 years.
