TRENDnet 5-Port Ethernet Switch (5 x 10/100Mbps Auto-MDIX RJ-45 Ports) TE100-S5 (Blue)Using this as an ethernet hub for my big 50-inch Panasonic TVs, Blu-Ray disc player, and DirecTV DVRs. It did such a great job that I bought another for our second home.I highly recommend this hub if you want to share a single ethernet connection between several devices.

This is great for me since I switched back from wireless to all hard wired. I kept having small problems with my wireless but it came at the worst time. Like during a program dowmload or in the middle of an online video game. I have two computers and a PS3 split off off this and it is bulletproof. Just plug and go. I did have to run a ethernet cable to my devices but that was no problem for me, as the benefit of a always on internet was worth it in my case.

I did have apprehensions when I bought this product because it is a brand I am not familiar with. But once I plugged it in, it performed as promised - easy to set up and performs without any problems. The only thing left is to see how long it will last. Time will tell but for the moment I am more than satisfied.

I love the fact that the box is so small and it doesn't take up a lot of room. I was originally going to purchase a 3 way female splitter but with that the 2nd and 3rd bedroom would not have access to the net at the same time. With this I'm sharing a connection with 4 computers. The main connection is downstairs and i have 3 split offs upstairs. the main connection upstairs is running threw one bedroom and that connection runs off into the 2nd bedroom. With this box i have been able to connect the 2nd and 3rd bedroom the connection in the 2nd room has not lost speed and the 3rd bedroom (which is my room) is running great. The Prime shipping that offered for free for college students really helped me out of a bind. I have a few online classes an a wireless connection extender was more pricey then the box and i found a cheap 50ft Ethernet cord on amazon as well. needless to say the prime shipping they offered help make sure i had internet connection so i was able to attend classes on time and not fall behind FREE PRIME SHIPPING LIFESAVER!!!!!!!!P.S Ill update if anything changes but as of now everything is a go :)P.P.S I forgot to mention the 5 year warranty the box comes with another plus

I've purchased my second for my home network. One splits my network throughout my basement (Wii w/USB ethernet adapter, PS3, and laptop), the other splits it to my media elements for my television (BD player, Roku, and laptop). They work great, and I plan on purchasing more as I find a need.

Pretty much plug and play. Needed to expand the numbers of device inputs into one LAN drop. Worked perfectly !!I've always used TRENDnet over the last few years, very reliable products !!

I have a lot of devices that need an internet connection but only have 4 ports on my Verizon Fios router. Plugged this switch into one of the router ports and Voila!...I now have 7 ethernet ports available instead of 4. Very simple.

well, maybe I am lucky or maybe the things just work--maybe both. i've read a bunch of the other reviews and can't say anything bad about this gadget, i have three of them daisy chained to one another, one which is downstairs that feeds the two upstairs, and each one of my kid's rooms (four) are attached to it as well as the HD DVD, BluRay, Xbox, 2 PS2 players (one japanese), and then also the three computers that normally are set in front of the tv while the kids work on homework. so, being a digital family as we are, for the money I think we have a great set up, and I just bought a fourth one of these to chain in some more rooms here in the house and their equipment therein. easy set up and lightweight, very nice little switch.

I use this to bridge a couple of 200 ft ethernet cables to an outdoor structure, it's actually outside in a protective box with power running to it (temps get below 0). After a couple months so far so good, signal a bit spotty at times but it's all I could hope for, can't beat it for $10. For whatever reason I had a little trouble when I first tested this but started working when I switched from a Cat 5 to Cat 5e cable, maybe that'll help someone.

I am using this as an internet router (wired, not wireless), as per instructions of previous commenters. The directions say it will not function for that purpose, which scarred me when I read them before I set it up, but I went ahead and it is working great for our two computers-the LAN cable from the modem is plugged in and our two pc's are plugged in as well and all good. Great affordable solution.

Product works great. It is a must have as more electronics become accessible to the internet. Televisons, Xbox, Playstation, Televisions, Blu-ray players, etc., quickly take up the ethernet ports on your router, or dsl gateway. This helps expand your number of ports effortlessly.

It was a bit smaller than I had expected. It would be nice if it were easier to locate if lost under so many wires but it works and looks fine. It is a good product and seems to be rather well made for the price. Nothing is perfect of course but this does what is supposed to in the fashion I would expect so, thumbs up. =)

This thing is a neat little gadget. I opened the box, plugged in a few cables and within less than a minute it was up and running perfectly. It's so simple yet so effective. Very much worth the money. I used mine to connect an LG DVD player, a desktop computer, an AT&T Micro-Cell,and a network printer all from a single network jack. Works perfectly.ell

I bought this 5 port conection device hoping it would split my ethernet connection into 2. One for my computer and on for my Wii. It didn't work. I called my ISP and Wii and They say what I bought wouldn't work, that I needed a Router. So I returned this item and now I need to buy something else.

This product works very well but required calling Trendnet tech support for manual setup for configuration. The Trendnet tech was knowledgeable and got me working within a reasonable amount of time. I've been happy with the product speed and connectivity.

This product is perfect for you to use at home or a small office. I bought this because I had one Ethernet outlet in my apartment that I was using with my computer. When I got my new Blu-Ray player I wanted to stream Netflix though that using Ethernet so I bought this little gizmo and it has solved the problem. I never turn the thing off, and yet it always works. You really can't beat the price either! I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

I used this switch to include an Apple Air Port streaming device and a Direct TV HD-DVR box in my home network. I have had the switch connected to Belkin and D-Link wireless-N routers Everything has worked perfectly. There is no software to install. Just plug in an ether net cable connected to a modem or router and the devices that you would like to connect to the internet or network. Very easy for a novice.

The TRENDnet 5-Port Ethernet Switch (5 x 10/100Mbps Auto-MDIX RJ-45 Ports) TE100-S5 (Blue) was the prefect choice for my needs. I needed an ethernet switch in my livingroom so that I could connect our Bluray player to the internet in order to use some of the functions of the player. Right out of the box it has worked perfectly for my needs. With-in minutes after I pulled it out of the box I had it plugged in and setup. It is an easy to setup, and easy to use peice of equipment. I will have no reservations about suggesting this switch to anyone who is looking for something similar.

Not often $12 can solve my problems. This switch is small and easy to use. Just plug it in and your in business, problem solved. Great option for increasing your wired ethernet without buying a new wireless router.

Ordered this as I had a single internet line and I had to link a WD TV Hub, PS3 and a cable modem that needed an internet connection.It is very simple to use. Plug the incoming internet line into any one of the 5 ports, and connect the other devices to the remaining 4 ports of the switch.I did a lot of web search for one piece of information about this device - is it universal power? Even the trendnet website does not have this information. The unit that I received had an AC adapter that is rated for 100-240v - can be used anywhere....Hope that helps...

I purchased two of these units on two different dates. I wanted to split a CAT5 drop to enable a Tivo; another to enable a game console.The unit worked for about 6 months. Then, strange timeouts started on the game console. I tried everything without luck. Having never had a single switch of any brand go bad, I troubleshooted this switch last. Once removed, the problem completely went away.About 3 months later a similar thing happen with Tivo. We were trying to view some pictures from vacation using Tivo Desktop. It worked fine many times before, but all of sudden I was getting weird Tivo error messages. I change everything, updated everything... I kicked myself when I remembered there was one of these hubs hidden back in the entertainment center. Again -- I take it out of the loop and all is well. No more problems.I am only left to conclude this unit is fine for an occasional splitting of a connection; however, it's not for "turn it on and forget it" use... Clearly the mean-time-between-failures is very low. With 2 units from 2 different lots going bad in a cooled environment where they are literally not touched for months leaves me to believe I was not simply "unlucky".You get what you pay for.
