I fell in love with this product at my first glance of the pictures.Love this ocean blue color and metal design, looks very elegant and rugged.After my checking of the reviews, I placed order and would like to use it to protect my family pictures.I can't wait to test it when I received my package from Amazon few days ago.I dropped it from my table, put it into the swim pool, and it still well functioned!I Love this product, in terms of design color and functions!recommend !

There are a couple of nice things about this unit. First is that it is a single connector drive. Not tried it in a USB2 plug, but with USB3, it works really well.Transfer speeds (moved 80 gigs initially of everthings from small jpgs to large video files) with a Windows 8 maching. Speeds varied from just over 1 gig per second (for small jpgs) to a small amount over 80 gigs/second for the larger video files. 15 meg raw photo files were around 50 meg/second.Not exactly sure what the limiting factor is here, but I have a really fast USB pen drive that records the exact same speeds, so I suspect the bottleneck is not the hard drive, but something in the computer.Nice that you get two USB cables (one short that stores with the unit and one longer one).Don't know how long it will last, but is very nice right now.

I originally purchased a name brand external drive and kept having constant issues with the computer losing connection to it and overheating. I finally decided to look for a drive to replace it and came across this Silicon Power drive while searching for different reviews. Based on the reviews I decided to purchase it. I have been using it for 9 months so far and not have a single issue or problem with it. I use it for Time Machine backups and I also store movies and TV shows I have purchased through iTunes that I want to keep on my computer but not take up space on the HD drive.

I wish I had gotten the blue version of this as I didn't realize the green/ black version does not have the mini USB cord that fits within it. I will change this review if it breaks on me. I'm not going to test it by dropping it in case it doesn't work haha.

As soon as I got this bad boy out of the box and made a few backups, my dog knocked it off the table, about a 3 ft drop. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. I reconnected the drive and all was wellI ordered an extra Male to Male USB cable, but the drive came with 2. I did not re-format as have no files over 4 GB (Blue Ray version of Ring of the Nibelungs, Library of congress card catalogue, etc).This drive had what I wanted, at a good price, and was delivered without incident.Oh, it may have a WD or Seagate drive in it, as they make 95% of all hard drives, but I am not going to open it up and find out. :)

IS incredible how they sell this HD as military tested....THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!Buy this and you will understand why I say that...This Armor is real in half of the hard disc, the other half there is no rubber, instead of it, there is a really soft and delicate plastic, that, if falls to this side for sure this is going to get damaged. So...don't buy this Hard drive because the military test or because the silicon rubber...As I say just is for 50% of the hard disc.Yes, looks like incredible...It is!.Silicon have other one that looks much better, if no other option you have is the Transcend Military drop... (is more expensive, this is why i got this one).
