Ужасно

I only had this hard drive for a few days. During those days it ran fine and I was able to copy files to it at good speeds from all of my computers. But about a week in it started making that lovely clicking noise most hard drives make before they die. So I returned it and got a WD hard drive instead, and that one has been working flawlessly. The case was sturdy, I never dropped it or mishandled it so mine was most likely just a bad hard drive inside the case.

I've been wanting to get one of these Armor A80 for awhile, finally got around to it. First off I really like the design of this hard drive, it is looks extremely simple but looks good and feels very sturdy. The small cable enclosed on the side is extremely handy.Just got it the other day and already unintentionally tested the ruggedness of this hard drive, I went rock climbing and the A80 was sitting in a little pocket in my backpack when it fell out. It was about a 80-100 feet drop and at that time I didn't even know it was the A80 that fell out, I thought it might been my bottle or something else. When I went back down I saw the A80 on the ground and I was like "crap"... I usually take out everything from my backpack before I go rock climbing but in this case I forgot.I brought it back home thinking it's most likely not going to be working anymore after a 100 feet drop onto solid ground. To my surprise it ran like nothing at all happened to it, all my files were still there and no weird sounds or anything. I'm amazed, I haven't tested if it submerge in water but I assume it can, this is one heck of a rugged hard drive. Also another amazing perk is that Silicon Power is doing a promotion on their face book page, you get a $15 Amazon gift card if you buy it now until early February I believe. I just sent in my invoice so I should be getting a response soon. If you buy one I recommend you searching for silicon power usa on facebook, you have to be a fan and then you can send in your invoice for a free Amazon gift card.Forgot to mention that the case did get a few dents from the drop but not as bad as you would expect from a 80-100 feet drop onto solid ground. I will try to see if there are any cases for this hard drive, keep you guys updated.

I think most tech stuff -- hardware, software, apps, etc. -- is overrated. There's usually something wrong with them somewhere. But not so with this amazing little hard drive. I bought an Iomega hard drive two years ago for backing up our three Mac computers at home. Despite glowing reviews and promises, it was glitchy from time to time and about a year ago it started making scary noises at start up. Dreading a repeat of the Iomega purchase experience, I procrastinated for months. Finally, I happened to read a review of the SP Armor A80 and decided to give it a try. When it arrived and I unpacked it, I thought "this can't be all there is to it?" Tiny little thing about the size of a big smartphone on steroids, two little USB cables, and that's it. No power cord. No on/off switch. No stand. Hardly even any instructions. I formatted it for Mac (HFS+ journaled) following instructions found online. That took about 120 seconds. Then I partitioned it into three sections (also from online instructions) for our three computers. That took about 45 seconds. Then I started my computer backing up using Time Machine. This little SP Armor A80 is about twice as fast as the iomega. A few hours later all three computers were done. No muss, no fuss, no complications, no un-met promises, no nothing. It just does what it promises. I recommend this device highly. It's simplicity will probably have you backing up more frequently because it's fast and no hassle.

This is the best product. I have all my movies stored on it (over 500), plus all of my many years of photos, different documents and files. I am able to plug the hard drive directly into my Blu-ray player and watch my movies right off my hard drive!

Ужасно

When the drive arrived plugged it in and it only showed 325GB available. I dived in to it and found that the drive had two partitions, one was hidden that was way it showed only 325GB, so I had to repartition the whole drive down to one and get it to 1TB. If a company advertises a drive with 1TB of storage you should not have to do what i had to, and the transfer rate is very slow. Avoid this product, go with a top name drive like a seagate or any other

I purchased this hard drive to replace a seagate drive that failed with no warning. Because I use the drive to store my movies and TV shows on, I knew I wanted to find one that wouldn't be easily damaged. This drive has exceeded my expectations. Unlike my other drives, I do not feel like I need to buy a separate protective case to prevent this one from being damaged. I have carried it around in my laptop bag with no special protections for several months now with no problems. If you are looking for a drive that you wont hesitate to hit the road with, then this is your product. Just don't expect to use the shorter USB cable for much as it's just about useless due to its length.
