Великолепно

I was very pleased with this hard drive which replaced one that was sent near the end of my warranty. The other one lasted about 2 weeks. This has been running constantly for a few couple of months now and I have not had any lock-ups or blue screens or anything like that. I'm very happy to have bought this drive.

This drive has been cloned to our lap top computer with no problems. Sometimes, on coming out of hybernate, the hard drive runs for 10 to 20 seconds before lap top is operational. The prior 500 gig hard drive did not have this problem. But, we can for the first time in years, defragment the hard drive, because this drive is big enough to allow extra space for moving files.

I needed a fast drive to expand the avaialble storage by replacing my OEM 250GB HDD in my MacBook Pro. The drive works great and the 7200rpm speed allows me to quickly edit photos and manage a large photo library. I just followed the instructions on ifixit and after creating an image of the original drive onto the new drive, the actual hardware replacement took less than 15 minutes. The laptop seems faster now that it was with the OEM drive.

Fast, quiet and simple to install.Its double the throughput of the 5400RPM model I am replacing in a Lenovo laptop.However, Amazon packaging is inadequate, as it is shrink wrapped, without any foam or bubble wrap protection,in a box with paper stuffing.

I decided to buy this product even though there are a few scary reviews on here for two reasons:1. Seagate has NEVER failed me, and I've owned a few of their drives, both external and internal.2. I have TimeMachine, so even if the drive crapped out, there is little risk b/c my info is automatically backed up.With that being said, the disk performed well during installation of hardware and restoration of my data. It is a little louder than my previous (5400 RPM) drive, and the computer gets a little warmer. But these issues are SO SLIGHT that I wonder if I would have even noticed them if I weren't looking for them. I was only looking for those traits b/c other reviews mentioned them.Again, Seagate has never failed me, and has never failed my roomie since 2003, (back when data storage was going for $3/gig!!!If this drive ever fails as people claim, I will update this review, so as long as you don't see that update, you will know that it is performing satisfactorily. And I suspect that it will. The drive isn't questionable to me as much as the reviewers are . . .UPDATE ON 6/22/12 - THE DRIVE IS RUNNING AS QUICKLY AND QUIETLY AS EVER. Glad I made the purchase!

Rockband takes up a lot of space. With my 60gb launch PS3, it took up all the space. I installed this one as an upgrade, it was easy to install and runs smoothly and fast on system. It even came a little screwdriver that I didn't find until I was done and cleaning up. In an often usedPS3, it's not loud, doesn't vibrate and doesn't lag.

I purchased one of these to replace my laptop hard disk. Everything was working fine for about 5 days, and then the disk failed - badly. There were many failed sectors which could not be remapped, and eventually the disk couldn't be read at all.Amazon set up an exchange for me I got a second disk. This process was really quite nice because they shipped me the replacement disk before receiving the failed one, and they shipped it next day (the original shipping method I had selected).The replacement disk lasted for 5 days also before failing. At this point I gave up on the seagate momentus, and returned it for good. It is possible, but unlikely, that I just happened to get two bad disks in a row. I would suggest looking to another drive for your storage needs for the time being.

Purchased this to replace a WDC 120GB HDD in a Dell Vostro 1520 laptop. We are by no means heavy users, as the laptop is for Internet surfing, photo-viewing and editing, so the raw speed was hardly a concern to us. After the upgrade, again, we don't notice much difference in the way of disk speed. However, we do notice that the the laptop is now noticeably quieter. SO, along with four times the disk space, the extra quietness is definitely a bonus.

I never had a lot of problem with seagate hdds. Of course, they do fail in 4~5 years. But, this one failed in 2 months. And I gave it a one more try, then it failed again in 2 months. Ok, I'll get a warranty replace. Let's see how it goes.

I bought this to replace the 250GB drive in my mid 2010 Macbook Pro 13". I haven't noticed much different, except for a lot more storage. The drive is quiet, cool, and fast (not dramatically different). It was pretty easy to replace. The hardest part is taking off the bottom cover of the mac. You just need the right size torx screwdriver to remove the drive. Then restore from a time machine backup. This is my first time replacing a drive on a mac (have done on a Windows PC prior). I was impressed at how well the restore from time machine worked. I'm also happy that I didn't pay Apple's inflated priced to get a 500GB drive at purchase time, when I got this 750GB drive for cheaper.

Seagate is a great! But I am having issues with system crashing after the install. I used apricorn easy upgrade with it's latest software to clone my 350GB drive to the 750GB drive. Whenever the system logs off, switch user, wake up after sleep mode, it reboots by itself, sometimes cycles booting.

I quickly filled up the HD in my MacBook and needed a bigger one. I did some research and found this one. the reviews were mixed with mostly positive but some negative as well. I decided to go ahead and take the chance. It came quickly, installation was easy as was the data transfer with Super Duper. I have had it for 3 weeks, using it every day, as usual, with no problems. It is quiet, it seems to work faster than the old factory installed drive, and it certainly holds more than enough for me. So far, I am very pleased with this purchase. If I do have failure or problems in the future, I will report back through Amazon reviews. Otherwise, I am very happy with this hd replacement and i would definitely buy another one if I needed one.

I got 2 of these hard drives and have them in an external firewire 800 raid that works both with my Mac OS Lion and Windows 7 setups. I have used them in both raid 1 and raid 0. So far no clicking or other odd problems.

replaced an 80GB PS3. NOTE: this is (was) the STOCK drive used in the PS3. So, if you are buying this to upgrade, look no further if you want to keep your PS3 the same as stock. Excellent drive, alot of space for not much money. Works as described. No notable decline or increase in performance.NOTE to PS3 upgraders. IT WILL TAKE A VERY LONG TIME to migrate your system to the new drive. Do not go by the clocked time the PS3 generates. Depending on the size of your backup, this drive will be backed up in many hours, not just 2 or 3. Be patient. 80 gig back up wrote to the new seagate in about 5-6 hours, PS3 said a little over 2. just an fyi.

I tried lots of ways to make it work...couldn't get the Macbook to recognize the drive when internally installed. Not sure if it is a comms speed issue (1.5v 3.0 - yes I tried the jumper) or perhaps a power issue or I just got unlucky - the drive worked great in an external usb hookup and was much faster than the WD unit I bought a couple of months ago that I use with time machine.Perhaps it'll work for you - I was very hopeful...

I've been wanting to update my playstation for a while seeing that I filled mt 80gb up. I got the harddrive everthing went great until I turned it system on. The system didn't reqonzine the new hard so I had to reformat my entire station the process should have taken a total of six hours with backing up data included but took me eight seeing that I had a hard time trying to reformat the system. But either way I'm truly happy tht I did this upgrade an I recommened it to all ps3 users

HDD arrived right on time and was almost packed TOO well. I ordered this HDD to replace the stock PS3 80GB HDD and after backing up the original, installing this 500GB was easy. Now I've got a 500Gig PS3!!!

I bought this hard drive for my late 2010 15" Macbook Pro with a 2.4 ghz i5 and 4 gb of ram. The stock apple drive was either failing or needed a clean install, so I decided the extra space was well worth $90 even if the drive was fine. Needless to say, I installed it, which only took 5 minutes, and booted to Lion with no problems. Coming from a 5400 rpm drive, I do at times notice a slight sleep difference with the new 7200 rpm drive. I would highly recommend this drive for any Macbook Pro owner wishing to maximize their capacity.

This Seagate Momentus drive, and the other Momentus drives of different sizes, have an incredibly high failure rate. Seagate admits that these Momentus drives are incompatible with any laptop with G-force protection.This drive cost me years of photos of my kids growing up. I bought this one to swap parts and try to recover my lost data.If you are considering buying this drive, first Google the model number, do some reading, then make your decision.As a computer technician, I will never trust Seagate again.

I bought this hard drive to expand the drive capacity of my 80gb PS3. The massive amount of content from games like GT5 had filled my 80gb, and I was constantly having to remove old game demos to keep up. After swapping in this 500gb drive, I now have plenty of room for all of that content, which is great considering the ever increasing size of game downloads. On the sound front, this drive is inaudible from inside my PS3 (as far as I can hear) and I haven't had any problems relating to heat either. All things considered, I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone that is looking to upgrade their PS3 (even if it is a slower 5400 RPM drive, and not a 7200 RPM drive. I've heard that 7200 RPM drives don't offer much of an advantage on the PS3 anyway)As for the process of swapping the drives out, I found it much harder than it needed to be. Make sure you research exactly which screwdrivers you need, and buy a decent set, because the screwdrivers I had were woefully unhelpful in removing the incredibly small, incredibly tight screws holding the drive cage to the PS3, and the HDD to the cage. I ended up having to use a pair of pliers, which scratched the drive cage considerably (it's on the inside of the PS3, so cosmetic damage to it isn't a problem). Good luck!

I bought this hard drive to upgrade our PS3 so it would have more space. Was surprised to see that the original hard drive was a Seagate as well. Removal and replacement was very simple due to the vast availability of directions on the internet on how to do this upgrade. What took the time was the backup and restore to and from an external hard disk. Total time for the swap was about 4 hours. The new seagate drive worked as well as I thought it would. The PS3 is bahaving exactly as it was before, only difference is we have about 380 more gigs of free space now. Perfect hard disk choice for the swap. Thanks Amazon!

I was hesitant to try to install this myself as I typically would rather pay a technical person and avoid ruining the product. However, as I couldn't find any company willing, I purchased the hard drive from Amazon and install myself. It couldn't have been easier to remove the hard drive from my old backwards-compatible PS3 and install this new HUGE storage hard drive. I definitely recommend. Haven't had this hard drive very long: only for a month. So far it's been great and acting like a champ. I bought it to increase the disk storage space of my netbook and I've had no problems with it. Despite being 5400RPM as opposed to 7200RPM it moves pretty fast when accessing information. It would probably move even faster on a laptop with an AMD Phenom or Core I-series processor.At any rate I recommend this drive greatly and encourage Seagate to keep up the good work as always.

I bought four of these drives to use to transfer photos/video while on the road. Within five minutes of turning it on, one of them had already died. Luckily Amazon took it back without any hassle and sent me a new one. However, I'm still weary about using these for important data.

I purchased two of these to replace the OEM pair in my HP Pavilion Notebook last November. They have worked flawlessly. The second drive is used to D/L and store RAW captures (around 13MB each). These are fast drives, even in a 2006 notebook. Buying another from Amazon for my Toshiba.

Great hard drive, Installed it in my MacBook Pro 13" 2010 model. The system is a little snappier now and I have plenty of room to run my installation of Windows 7 now! I have not noticed a decrease in battery life, and the drive is more or less silent, I don't hear it at all.

I bought this drive so that I could upgrade my 2011 MacBook Pro to Lion, while keeping my old installation intact. I Immediately started having read write error issues. After a week the drive just quit. Luckily I hadn't had a chance to trust any irreplaceable data to this thing. I'm not a computer newbie, started working on them in 1979 in graduate school and was a systems analyst for many years. I've had plenty of hard drive failures over he years, but never this quickly. I would avoid this model like the plague.

This has been a quiet and reliable hard drive for the last 8-10 months. Absolutely NO evidence of the noise, vibration or unreliability that some of the reviewers warn of. Must be due to their laptop's characteristics or the few bad 'apples' that every manufacturer (WD included) produces. This has been used both in a laptop in which another issue claimed, and in an external enclosure and performed well -- no heat problem, no noise problem, very good data throughput, no errors or bad sectors. It just does what Seagate says it should. Seems that OEM drives that may be subject to roughness in shipping complications and to blame for some people's problems, so your 'Mileage may vary'. But, this model of drive is no worse than any other brand I have experience with.

My Macbook Pro hard drive stopped working after 3-4 months of owning it. We went online and found this hard drive to replace it with. I trust Seagate as they haven't let me down before, so I'm hoping this one lasts me and doesn't give out. So far so good. It's a bigger hard drive than my original as well so my computer is running great with it.

I have a HP Pavilion DV4-2140US laptop, running Windows7 Ultimate. This is my main computer. The Seagate ST9320423AS disk drive is original to the laptop which I purchased a year ago. This 320 gig Seagate disk drive is very quite and I guess it's fast and until this last weekend, it did what it was supposed to do.While doing my weekly backup I got a bunch of read errors. I ran CHKDSK and sure enough 21 bad clusters were found. CHKDSK said it moved the data and flagged all 21 bad clusters. Then I went into the BIOS and ran the HDD diagnostic program. Just 10-15 seconds go by and up pops a message stating "Replace Hard Drive One." I posted all this on the HP Notebook forum. They said the Seagate disk drive is bad and I need to replace it as soon as I can.So, while looking for a new disk drive on-line, I find a lot of people reporting Seagate drives are not as reliable as some other manufactures with bad clusters being a top Seagate problem. My previous laptop had a Western Digital disk drive. The disk drive was still going after 4 years - so I'll try another Western Digital disk drive. I'm buying a Western Digital 320gig Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT.

Easy install and runs cool with my MacBook Pro 15 model 8,2 (2011)There was one episode where it ran very hot for a few hours but I guess it was going through some sort of self check or diagnostics or something - I was also in a very hot (no a/c) atmosphere when it happened. But it got through that process and now there's virtually no heat at all... identical performance as the original drive 500GB I replaced.Very good price for what you get - 750GB - amazing.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I've only had the drive for a few weeks but it is super quite and it seems the battery in my MacBook Pro last a little longer as compared to the original 320 GB 7200 RPM drive. Its really nice having more than double the space. I used time machine to restore my files and the whole install and restore only took about 3 hours (mostly due to the restore). So far, this is great drive and I would recommend it to anyone. I hope I feel this way for a long time, but only time will tell.
