I had to update my old hard drive, too small of capacity. This was a great upgrade for the money. I more than doubled my hard drive and cloning my old one to this new one was a breeze. Works great.

Besides the fact that I received a damaged item TEN different times......order was all wrong, shipped like it was a 2 cents item not caring that it was actually a HDD... Had to wait forever to arrive, and the return of this item has been a headache after another

Overall the HDD works fine and I got the space I needed from all of the new games from PS Plus. My only problem is now for whatever reason my trophy's earned in the past are re unlocking.I don't know why this is happening and I have done multiple things to try and fix it and still I cant find a fix. IF anyone knows how to solve this issue it would be great.What is happening is the trophy's re unlock but the date and time is showing the old one when I really achieved them so I am not quite sure why its happening but it would be nice to solve this issue.

Used this hard drive to upgrade the one in my PS3. It's only been a month or so and I don't play a ton but so far it's worked perfectly and now I can download whatever I feel like whenever I want :)

as i have read, product does not sleep in macbook pro when i tell it to sleep. this is incorrect. my hdd sleeps in both mac and windows operating systems on my macbook pro 13". also does not seem any faster than a standard hdd but if they say its faster then it probably is.

I received the Seagate Mom 7200 rpm Sata 16 MB Cache 2.5 in Hard Drive in good shape. I installed it and it works great.

I put it in my laptop, restoring the image from the original laptop. All works well and I now have space for another version of Windows 7 if I want.

I cloned the failing Hard Drive in a HP Pavilion DV6-1378nr laptop and replaced it with this one (an exact replacement). It has been working flawlessly for a month and a half. I would buy another one.

I've been using this drive for about 8 months now in my gaming PC and I highly recommend it especially at this price! It's fast. This drive will also breath new life into your older laptop or desktop PC.

I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews here, so I just thought I would add my input. I got one of these about a year ago. I got the 500 GB, and came back today to look at the 750GB because I liked it so much. I've loved the drive. Fast, and easy to move my data off the other drive. No problems, no noises. Just works, and works fast!I've did some basic testing, but I forgot the numbers and don't have them anymore. But I had the non-XT version of the drive before and did some comparisons. Even after just the first boot or two, it was faster. Word, Picasa, profile switching, Eclipse, VMWare ... all seem to work faster. It's a pleasure to use this machine that my wife mostly uses now. (I got the company laptop myself)I recommend the drive highly, almost want to buy one for my work machine. It's nice to have the capacity, speed, and low price.Maybe I got lucky or something, but it think it's worth the chance. But as always, be sure to backup your data. I've got tonz of photos on my computer, and I make sure they are backed up to an external drive every now and then. (And I don't clear them off our camera until they are).

I wish I had read through these reviews to look at JUST the 750GB reviews.I had one die on me twice. The first time was after a couple months, and the replacement Seagate sent died within a few weeks. The one star is for the drive, but Amazon gets a bazillion stars for helping me out and replacing it with a different brand.If you get a 750 GB, which I would avoid like the plague, make sure you at least backup your data regularly.

Just what I needed. My HP laptop got stuck on HP start up screen. Replaced the hard drive, installed windows, now I'm writing the review from my HP laptop :-)Seagate is a trustworthy company.

This hard drive worked for my PS3 hard drive upgrade.You will want to search for instructions on how to replace the hard drive. You will need to download the latest version of the firmware on a usb thumb drive as part of the upgarde. Remember to synch your trophies before changing the hard drive. We removed some of the game data to reduce the size of our backup.

This drive came in the Alienware M11x that I got last summer. When I first got the computer, everything worked fine; I don't really have any comments on it besides that there were no problems. A few weeks less than a year after I got it, my computer started having problems (slow processing, not identifying charger, CHKDISK running every 3-4 weeks.) I guess at that point I should have known to back up my data, but I didn't. Saturday night, the computer was running fine, and when I went to start it up on Sunday, it was dead, with multiple bad sectors. It wouldn't boot in any mode. I was able to slave it to my Inspiron 530 (by borrowing the data cable from the DVD drive; try slaving the drive to another computer before panicking about data loss) and the desktop tries to fix it every time I start up to no avail. I transferred all my important stuff off, and now I'm in the process of trying to see if my desktop can repair the bad sectors, to see if I need to get a new drive or just get a new laptop; I think the processor may be going too though. Two stars because for a failing drive, it worked pretty hard from the time it started acting up to when it died. It pretty much went 1 year good, 3 months acting weird occasionally but otherwise good, dead. There was no progressive degeneration.

The hard drive arrived on time. I have been using it for a month and a half and so far I have not had any problems with it. The installation was very easy and it operates smoothly.

I bought the 500Gb version to replace the the old 80Gb hard drive in my ps3. The price was great and I received the hard drive two days after I ordered it (free-shipping). Replacing the drive was easy enough, the only thing I had to do after putting in my new hard drive was to update it using a thumb drive. For anyone who is interesting in swapping out their old ps3 hard drive for a new one, watch any good instructional video on YouTube.

Got this 720 GB HDD as an expansion hard drive for my Playstation 3 (fat model) and its been working great (installed for three weeks now.) No compatibility problems with upgrading from 5400 rpm to 7200 rpm. When I run the PS3 for hours I can hear the fan going louder to cool the system, but no overheating problems so far. Completely recommend it if you want a cheap upgrade.

Easy to install and worked great...for about 1 month. The hard drive died suddenly. I see many others have had the same problem. I will be replacing this with a non Seagate hard drive.

Used in a MacBook Pro. A nice increase in speed from the 5200 RPM drive it replaced.Simple installation, and we used the free CabonCopyCloner software to copy the data to the new drive.Plenty of space. No increase in disk noise level or heat.We would buy again

I reluctantly ordered this drive since I have had problems with Seagate GoFlex external drives!! When I got it I cloned the drive in my laptop to it and swapped it in and......VOILA......an amazing improvement in boot speed and overall response time......WOW!! I would highly recommend this drive to anyone wishing to improve laptop performance.......heck, you can even use it in a desktop with an adapter!!GREAT drive and GREAT value!!
