I've tried several different headsets (both wired and bluetooth) and this is by far the best headset that I have ever used. It works great with my iPhone, and also works with Skype on my workstation. While Skype usually has pretty crappy hardware support that results in crappy audio/video quality, this is the first headset that I've had that actually makes Skype usable.Since it has a boom mike instead of using bone induction from your ear, F's, H's, P's, and S's can be heard and understood by the person(s) listening to you, whereas with bone induction the person they can't hear those sounds. When connecting to the PC you must use the USB Bluetooth receiver that comes with the headset, as the software will not work with any other receiver.I am very happy with this headset.

I owned the regular voyager pro for a long time so when the new pro UC came out and I read what it can do I went ahead and purchased it. Unfortunately it is not working very well. The quality of the sound is inferior to the Voyager pro and the connection to the phone and/or the pc keeps disconnecting every 20 minutes for no reason. I called tech support and they suggested I download a firm update to try to resolve the issue which it helped a little bit but is still diconnecting and the quality of the sound is bellow acceptable. I would suggest that you consider the regular voyager pro which works great and stay away from this productJacob MoskowitzMemphis TN

I bought two of these and they both came in an already opened package, I overlooked it because of the price but after trying it for a whole day I decided it just wasn't worth it. This might look like a very cheap alternative but it truly is a very crapy product, I wasn't able to have one single descent phone call in either device because the audio was so bad even distorted (with great phone signal) people couldn't hear me or I would hear chopped words and when I called them back without the headset it was a crystal clear conversation. The device itself is uncomfortable and the material feels as cheap as a toy. Thank god I had no trouble to return it and get my money back.

I am a headset junkie, and have tried most and owned many. To date, the Discovery 925 is my all-time favorite, retiring my 1st generation Jawbone, which I reverted to after trying two different examples of the 2nd generation Jawbone. Both examples were inferior in every way to the original Jawbone.I bought the D925 primarily because the hybrid soft silicon/metal ear hook on the original Jawbone was falling apart, with the rubber separating from the metal. Also, the in-ear fit of the Jawbone was abysmal, which I complained about to the manufacturer and was told that other customers had reported solving this problem by using Jabra ear gels from old wired headsets. I had some around, tried them, and they worked, improving the fit and comfort of the Jawbone. When the NEW Jawbone was introduced, I bought one, quickly returning it for what I thought was a defective speaker, which was tinny and raspy. The replacement unit was the same, and I returned that as well. The audio quality of the original Jawbone was WAY better than the new, improved model.Anyway, I have used the D925 for about a month now, and can report that it is, on balance, the best fitting and sounding Bluetooth headset I have tried.Ergonomics: The default (medium) ear gel is the perfect fit for me, and the device is completely secure in either ear while remaining comfortable from dark to dark. I was skeptical that it would remain secure without an earhook, but it has never fallen out of either ear yet. And here's a great advantage to the design of this device; you can quickly switch it from one ear to the other without changing earhooks! The eargel snugs down into either ear with a quick quarter twist, and removes just as easily. I don't use it, but the device comes with a neck lanyard that can be used to hang the device around the neck. The lanyard attaches into the micro-USB charging port. Another thing I really like about this device is that you don't have to go around with your ear blinking like a refugee from a Borg ship. What good is that feature, really? Can you look at your ear while wearing the headset to see if you're connected? All the connection indicator does is distract and irritate others in meetings, or conversational groups. Good riddance! I have never used the small volume button on the edge of the unit, preferring to make volume adjustments from my Blackberry. The large call/answer button comprises the entire vertical surface of the device, and depresses easily and with slight tactile feedback. What a welcome change from the awful call/answer button on the Jawbone!Audio - Speaker: Incoming audio is excellent, as good as the Jawbone, which is also excellent. No complaints whatsoever.Audio - Microphone: Outgoing sound quality is excellent, and sensitivity is excellent. (*See Why FOUR stars below.)Noice Cancelling: Inferior to the Jawbone, but still better than any of the other headsets I have used. Called parties report some BG noise in busy restaurants or crowded events, but no road noise at freeway speeds. Advantage - Jawbone.Radio Quality: Excellent. Beats the Jawbone in terms of range and quiet signal within close proximity.Features: A neat little black case contains a battery that will recharge the D925 once without AC. The leather (MAYBE it's leather...doesn't matter) case has its own micro USB charger input, and the D925 settles into it and connects through the same micro USB connector used to charge from the AC charger (supplied.) A standard USB to micro USB cable is also provided for charging from an available PC USB port. Large, medium, and small eargels are provided. As with all late-design Plantronics headsets, pairing is a no-brainer, with the device powering up in pairing mode on first use.Why FOUR stars, then? Because the noise cancellation could be better, and because the D925 (like the Jawbone) is VERY susceptible to voice blanking in the slightest air current. Out in a slight breeze? Forget it. Find a sheltered area. I have to redirect or turn off the air conditioning in my car when making a call. If any air from the vents hits the device, it voice blanks and your other-end caller hears Niagara Falls. I don't mean to over-emphasize this, it isn't a big problem for me, just a minor irritation.I can heartily recommend this device. It's the best I've had or used.

Recently received an upgrade at the office for Microsoft Lync and wanted a hands-free solution. I researched several bluetooth products and finally settled on this headset. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase! My laptop has built-in bluetooth, but the item comes with a mini bluetooth dongle. Setup was easy and flawless! At the office, I use the headset with the provided dongle, but when I'm working remotely - I use the built-in bluetooth. It's important to go to Plantronics website to download & install the headset software! This will allow you to take advantage of the sensors on the earpiece, so that it knows when you're wearing it! So, when the call comes in, it can ring to the phone or to the headset if you're wearing it! Super convenient! I love that feature! Battery life is amazing! Also, please be careful when purchasing this because it does come in two flavors: one for Microsoft Lync and the other is designed for other UC systems. 38884-01 is the Microsoft Lync Version!Sound quality is decent. Callers mentioned that they can tell the difference between a handset call and the headset call... But it's pretty minor.Highly recommended for Microsoft Lync users!

This product was sold to me as a wireless phone accessory, and now I have learned that it actually is a computer accessory and that I over paid by almost $50.Upon receiving this I followed the quick start instructions and downloaded the Plantronics software. As soon as I did this my computer speakers quit working. So, I called Plantronics tech support. That is where I discovered that I bought the wrong product for my wireless phone, and the product I should have bought doesn't have the "UC" in the title and costs arround $70.I'm going to see if I can make an exchange and get a refund.C.

This is a very good device to get along with. I've been using this one since some months ago without having problems to get it paired with my mobile, iPod, notebook and my desktop likewise. Its audio quality is very good.I'd say the only issue I could complain is its battery is not a replaceable one. I believe I'll unfortunately have to buy a new one as soon as it gets at the end of its lifetime. All in all, I can say I'm satisfied with this purchase.Magno Souza.Salvador/BA - Brazil.

The packaging of Plantronic Savor M1100 is beautiful, giving you a feeling that what you are getting is a piece of fine art. I just took it out of the box and instantly it shows up on my cell phone. Then with a click, they were paired. I didn't even have to figure out how to pair them and that made me feel awkward for not having to do anything because, for all of my previous bluetooth devices, I had to at least follow some steps to set them up.The little quick guide booklet tells you where the buttons are and how to say voice commands. The guide is simple and gives you all the information you need in a very quickly and succinctly in just a few pages. I do need to keep the guide with me to get familiar with the functions, but, according to the guide, you can find the same information on the Plantronic website. You also need to learn a few voice commands that you will end up using frequently. After pairing, each time you turn on the power the device would give you a voice message telling you that it is connected and that the talk time is 4+ hours, etc. I like the voice prompt very much because it makes the device become alive, and you can interact with it without having to figure out which buttons to press. The fact that the device tells you how much battery is left is a great feature because with my previous devices, I have to remember the meaning of the way the light blinks in order to know the battery is about to be used up.Overall, I enjoy M1100 very much because it looks sleek, it is easy to use, and it talks back to you!

I am a much heavier user of bluetooth headsets than most. My job requires me to spend long hours consulting on the phone, so a comfortable, reliable, BT headset that will last all day without a charge is a requirement for me. I typically buy a new cell phone every 6 months (Current is a Nokia E51, next will be a 3G iPhone :), and a new headset (I compared this one to a Jabra JX10 which I used previously) nearly as often. Some of my criteria may not be something you need, so keep that in mind as you read through, and as with any product, choose what features you will use, and which are "cool" but unnecessary. What's in the Box:-An extremely light headset (8 grams!)-Three ear pieces (small, medium, large)-Wall Charger-USB Charger-Nice looking Case that also charges the headset-Short, Simple, Clear Instruction ManualPros:Looks - The Plantronics 925 is a very attractive headset. It doesn't have the goofy, bulky, flashy "star trek" look that a lot of headsets do. The smooth, attractive lines, and the thin mouthpiece are very low key and elegant. The headset also comes in 3 colors: standard black, fashionable gold, and feminine cerise.Charging - Plantronics included not 1, not 2, but 3 ways to charge this headset: through the wall, by usb, or with the extremely cool charging case. The case has it's own lithium ion battery, and it will actually hold a single charge for the headset without being plugged in. This means for an overnight trip all you have to bring with you is the headset and the case, and you'll still be able to recharge it once.Pairing - The 925 connected quickly and easily to my phone, this shouldn't be a challenge for anyone to do after a few minutes skimming the manual.Comfort and Fit - I prefer the "in ear" style of BT headsets to the "over the ear" style, so the 925's setup was great. The customizable earbuds should ensure a comfortable fit for most people, although there will be some who will experience irritation with all the sizes. The earbuds are a tad fragile, so be careful when handling them.Stability - The plantronics feels really light and loose, but it also stays in place! Nothing is more annoying than a headset that falls out, but this one does a great job staying in place.Range - The headset does well out to about 20 feet, any further and distortion begins to occur. Bluetooth is rated for 33 feet maximum, but in real life you will seldom get this far, and the 925 does excellent compared to other headsets.Sound Quality - The 925 does very well in this area. No one could "tell" I was on a headset, and both incoming and ougoing sound were crisp and clear for me and the person on the other end. The one exception was in wind, which I will discuss later.Battery Life - The 925 is rated for up to 5 hours of talk time and 7 days (!) of standby time, which is great for a BT headset. Although battery life does typically decline over time, in my experience it definitely lived up to the promise and I was very impressed by the amount of time I could go between charges.Cons: (Keep in mind these may not be important to you!)Controls - The 925 has 2 buttons: One large multi-purpose button on the side, and one smaller one on the top for volume. While the multi-purpose one is pretty standard (answering or placing calls, voice dialing, etc), the volume control is somewhat lacking. It only has 3 levels (high, medium, low) which it cycles through. This is in contrast to competing headsets (such as my Jabra) which have both "+" and "-" for volume, which can give more precise control over the volume.Wind Noise - This is something that is a problem on most headsets, and while this one did better than most low end headsets, it didn't do as well as competitors at half its price (such as the Aliph Jawbone). Such a pricey headset should not experience such bad feedback and voice choppiness when outdoors or on the highway.Price - The 925 is definitely on the higher end of the price range for BT headsets. The features for the price may or may not be worth it to you, and you could be just as happy with a much lower priced headset.Overall:Overall the 925 is a great looking premium headset which is packed with features. Comfort, ease of use, battery life, and sound quality were all excellent. The charging methods provided were exceptional, and the charging case is just plain cool. This headset is certainly better than most of the cheap headsets out there. Still, the price is high, and the controls and wind noise performance could be better. These aside, there is an excellent chance you will look great in and love this headset.

I have been a fan of Plantronics for years. They, in my opinion, make the best headsets available, but they just did something I find unacceptable. The Plantronics Savor M1100 comes with a 1 year "subscription" (then $36.00 a year) to an Android and iPhone app call Vocalyst. Not only is the program pretty awful, but it also sends EVERYONE who sends you a text message, a reply, without your knowledge, that is nothing more than a shameless advertisement. And, it makes it appear that you have both sent it and endorse it. Then, you have to purposely have the recipients of these messages go to their address books and send you a text so that YOU start receiving your own messages. I feel kicking their butts for that actually; I am truly suprised by this normally reputable company.

Also was going to give up on bluetooth headsets until I decided to spend the money on this one. It is more expensive, but if you're going to spend money on a headset, buy this one. Sound is great. Only issue is that it is hard to pick up an incoming call and I have to repeat myself about 5 times for it to answer. That said, I guess not a big deal.I believe the quality is very good - I carry it unprotected in my purse where other headsets have perished in about a week from my keys. This one survived perfectly....until my dog nipped it off my desk and chewed on it for 15 minutes. I can't say it looks very nice anymore, but since it's only 3 months old, I just pushed it back together and it works fine. Yay!In the car, even with road noise, the noise canceling works like a charm and people say it doesn't sound any different that talking straight through my phone. My last Rocketfish headset there was so much noise, I couldn't make any calls from the car.So in a nutshell, great noise canceling, durable, comfortable, good sound quality, easy to connect, and a good buy.

Length:: 2:38 MinsThis might be the best Bluetooth headset on the market but I'll never know because I can't get the thing to charge. Check out my video and let me know if I'm doing something wrong.NOTE: In the video, I mistakenly call this product the "Plantronics Explorer 645." This is in fact the "Plantronics Discovery 645" I'm reviewing.EDIT 2011-05-25 17:14PST: Spoke to a Plantronics technical rep earlier today and he said it sounds like my charging cradle is defective. Judging by what others have said about theirs, I doubt this is the case, but I've contacted the seller to see about getting a replacement. Will check in later with another update.

Leave it to Plantronics to top the Voyager Pro headset. I've had many bt headsets in my days, and this one by far has the best sound quality on both ends of the line. I researched this product intently before purchasing, and read nothing but positive reviews for it. I agree with these reviews, and add my own testimony that this is a fantastic piece of technology. The ready-to-use dongle connected instantly with Skype (a first for me) and worked perfectly. I connect to my office phone (Siemens OpenStage 60 SIP phone), my UC soft-phone (Siemens OpenScape Desktop Client) and my cell phone (Sony-Ericsson Xperia X1), and switch between them seamlessly. It's really comfortable, and the extended boom gets closer to my mouth for better sound quality.Pros: All of the above, plus Fast charge time - 90 minutes fully charges the headset for a whole day of heavy use. (I do need to charge it every night, but I am a heavy user.) Also charges via USB. Never have to re-pair it with a device as I have had to do with other headsets in the past from time to time. It always connects to my phone when I need it to. Once its on (see Cons, below) it fits well and stays firm in your ear. Even with glasses, there's no wobbling or discomfort. The earpiece remains comfortable even after lengthy use. Crisp, clear voice quality, which is equal to land-line calls, on both ends. Calls made from my car with the a/c blasting sound like I'm calling from the office. It looks pretty bulky in the photos, but it's not bad on the ear.Cons: It takes a bit of fumbling to put the device on my ear, which is a downfall when trying to answer a phone call. I find I need to remove my glasses first, get it on and adjusted, and then put my glasses back on. But once on, it can stay in place for hours. The button on base of the boom is either too big, or too sensitive - I find myself pushing it by accident while adjusting the device, which have led to a few disconnected calls. Finally, the price. Still priced for early adopters, but at the end of the day the logic of 'you get what you pay for' prevails. Even with these Cons, I give this device 5 stars, and 2 thumbs up. Thanks Plantronics, you've made me a happy customer.

Plantronics does it again. I purchased the Savor M1100 after reading reviews from every website I could find. I was looking for a replacement for my 975 model. Just wanted a different look I guess. This is an awesome unit as the sound is great on both sides. The "voice commands" work very well. It is smaller than I expected but I love it as you will forget its in your ear. As usual, it comes with the same "in ear" design as the 975 which works well for me because I wear it all day long. The volume is great as well. this thing can get really loud. I use it on the second setting and fine tune it with the phone's volume setting. As for the "vocalyst service", I doubt I will use it much but it is a great feature. This unit also has "multi-point" as I have a work and personal phone. I have not yet really tested the Battery life yet but I'm very optimistic about it as Plantronics has not disappointed me yet.....Love this unit !!!!

Ok, so I've owned many, many headsets and for one reason or another I've replaced them over time. Whether it be because I left on a plane, ran over with a car, or just plain lost them, I've had at lease 7 or 8 different models over the last 3-4 years. So I would consider myself an expert on different models. With that said, this is nearly the perfect headset. Here are just some of the items I love about it:1- Actual sliding on/off switch. When you slide it it also tells you in your ear if it is on or off. AWESOME, no more wondering.2- Tells you in your ear if you are connected.... no more beeps to try and translate.3- Tells you in your ear how much battery life is left.... another feature you don't have to translate4- Awesome reception and sound. Hands down the best I've had ever in both events.5- No hands answering, all you have to say is "Answer" or "Ignore" and no buttons to push.Anyway, again, this is the best headset out there, and not by a little, by a LOT!!!!!!!!!!! If you can afford it, get it.

The plantronics headset sounds amazing in description but not so much when received and put to use. The wind reduction is not there at all reduces wind as much as every other Bluetooth, it is also " supposed " to cancel out noise which if it does I must be missing it I work in manufacturing around injection molding machines which get loud at so noise cancel would be great. The vocalyst is not as advertised either you only get the basic package for free which reads email SMS text but to send message with vocalyst you must pay 35 dollars for the advanced vocalyst. The best feature is ability to play audio throu gh headset, battery life is decent. In my opinion I would rather aliph jawbone

I have owned several bluetooth headsets over the last two years, including some of the best offerings from Blueant (the z9i, T1, and their latest Q2) I tried the Jawbone but I have found nothing that approaches the overall sound quality and comfort level of Plantronics Bluetooth headsets. I have owned both the Plantronics Voyager Pro, and the new Savior M1100. The Voyager Pro has great sound quality, but I believe that the savior M1100 equals it in sound and has a louder listening volume. The savior M1100 is by far the most comfortable headset that I have ever worn. I was never a big fan of the "in ear" ear peace styles that don't use an ear loop, they just don't look secure, but I must say, after wearing the M100 for several weeks without the optional ear loop, it has never fallen out and it has made a believer out of me. Overall this has to be one of, if not the best Bluetooth headset's on the martket at this time.

this earpiece could be so much better. the volume on high is too high, the volume setting just below high is a little too low. battery life is avg, but the thing i dislike the most is when you get an incoming call, the set tells you there is an incoming call. no kidding ! i think the phone ringing already let me know that. then it gives you the option of answering or ignoring the call, all the while your phone is still ringing. most of the time i have to call them back because i cant get the savor to answer the call before they hang up. i do love the fit as i use the clip that goes around your ear, and the volume can be as loud as you can stand. all in all i will keep it, the pros outweigh the cons for me. as i said before, it could be so much better.
