I like the sound quality of this headset, and the controls are very intuitive. Plantronics provided a host of helpful accessories, including a battery charging device and adapters that allow you to use your phone charger (if you use a compatible device) instead of carrying another charger. Pairing was a snap, and the talk time is better than represented. My only complaint is the earpiece itself; they provide three separate sizes (great!), but they are very delicate and become loose easily, which causes the headset to drop down. A few efforts to contact Plantronics on the matter have been unsuccessful; hopefully they will replace the part at no charge.

This is actually my second headset because I lost the first one and I love it. The only problem is that it could get lost easy because of the weight. Otherwise, it is reliable, battery life is decent. I charge it almost every night and I also have the spare battery charger which comes in handy if needed (used it once). Sound quality is also good. I would recommend it.

Works very well. Buttons are manageable. Volume is good. Set up was easy. Wind is a problem, but it would be on any microphone. I like it and feel that it is worth the money and worth recommending.Hint: I took another reviewer's advice and got the Altoids tin as a case. Works like a dream, fits perfectly. I even lined it with felt. Total back-pocket/car seat protection and no one knows it's my headset.

This product lives up to its advertising hype. I am using it with a Blackberry 8700. The unit produces a clear signal and cuts off much of the background noise. While other reviewers have complained about the difficulty of charging the unit, I have not found this to be difficult with a little practice. The ability to talk without holding my Blackberry is extremely useful -- I did not realize how tiring this was until I started using the Plantronics Discovery 645.

I realy like this head set it was a replacement for my Motorola H700the sound quality is very good comparing with many other brandsthe attached accessories is amzingthe weight is very good and you can feel comfortable while wearing itthe battery is not much long but maybe because I'm a heavy user i can use it for arround 4 hours of talking time which I think fair enough for many usersany way as a total feed back I recommend this Headset

I highly recomend this unit. I'm buying a second one.Most comfortable one I have found, I sometimes forget I have it on. I have dropped it on sautillo tile floors twice without any damage. It is durable.Noise cancellation eliminates transmission of background noises. We tested this by calling from the laundry room with both washer and dryer running. Call recipient would not have detected any background noise. It works well in the car to override Arizona cement interstate noises.Battery life seems good. My Nokia 6682 requires charging before the headset. I haven't tried to find the limits, but I have talked on it almost four hours w/o requiring a charge.Sound quality is good and volume is easily controlledRange is increadible, though I have on occasions noticed that when ~30 feet from the phone some static is noticable.

I've read this complaint in many places... An easy, clean looking fix is to take some electricians tape, cut it in 1" pieces, cut these in half and stack 3-4 pieces. Then put the tape on the inside left or right side of the tube carrying case. This provides enough friction to keep the electrical contacts touching for reliable charging and prevents the headset from tumbling out all to easily.I'm happy with the sound quality... better than the mic/earpiece on my Treo, but some have complained of too much ambient road noise when I'm driving on the freeway or difficulty hearing in windy conditions. Best for use inside when not doing a lot of activities.

I love it! I've had a couple Motorola headsets and couldn't hear a thing. This one goes in your ear, and the sound is loud and clear. The one complaint is that the battery dies pretty quickly, and it seems to drain my phone battery as well.I sent the first one back to the mfr because I thought the battery issue was a defect. They were great about it and promptly sent me a replacement. The new one seems like it has a slightly better battery life, but it's still pretty quick. I'm on the phone a lot and can't make it through a day without killing the battery.

Too bad there isn't a little blue pill for this head piece! Great sound quality - the best I've had in a bluetooth - but the design is awful! It just doesn't stay in position! First it's up in it's correct position, then it's flopping down. VERY disappointed. It went back to after the first couple of days. Also, the charger design is pretty iffy. Oh well. Save your money, don't buy this one.

I've been waiting to purchase a bluetooth headset for a while, and I finally "bit". I have had no problems, and it is functioning exactly as expected!Paired with Moto Razr V3, first try, no problems.Sound is good, louder than the (awful) speakerphone, even when the window is down in the car. Voice dialing is no worse than without the headset (unreliable), more a problem with motorola's speech recognition than the headset.Fit is good and VERY comfortable (I wear glasses), I barely notice it in my ear. Stability in the ear is good without the earloop.Range seems to be as expected (I got 42' in a parking lot), but I did not test it at my home [where even WiFi 802.11h gets only 30' :( ].Love the mini-usb charging adapter, only have to keep one charger in my car. All of life should be so simple.Overall, a strong recommend!

I was on a search for a functional bluetooth and purchased the Plantronics 655 in addition to 3 others: Motorola HS700, Motorola HS850 and Genum Nxzen Plus. I was unsatisfied with and returned the Plantronics 655. It's a stylish way to talk to people in quiet locations and clarity of receiver is great. HOWEVER, voice is muffled on the receiving end, gel earpiece is uncomfortable, ear hook is also uncomfortable and doesn't keep it's shape when repositioned, AND it's hard to hear in crowds or in the car with the windows open. I prefer function over aesthetics and the Plantronics 655 didn't suit my needs.

I'm a headset gadget nut, so I bought into the Discovery 640-series as soon as it came out. Plantronincs apparently cannot get it through their heads that the Discovery 640 series charger design is irreparably flawed. I spoke to a corporate rep just about an hour ago on the status of this, but all she would say is that their company acknowledges some "difficulties with early releases" of this product. Yet Plantronincs continues to use the same flawed charger design. As MANY frustrated users have noted, the headset does not stay well connected inside the slipcase-style charger/case. Like others, I've tried tape, rubber bands, and everything I can think of, but to no avail. I plug it in, see the red charging light, but when I come back 10 or more minutes later the light is out (if the charge were complete it would turn blue) and I have to jiggle it to get it to keep charging.

I previously used both the Motorola HS850 and the HS820 and had the same two problems with each. Insuffcient volume and insecure attachment to my ear. Whenever I moved, the motorola headsets wiggled and made me feel as if they were about to fall off. They never did but it was still annoying. The volume problem was in part related to this. The contact with my ear wasn't very firm and the ambient noise that the headsets let in coupled with a relatively low volume meant that I had to press the headset to my ear to hear clearly.I have been satisfied with my Plantronics 510. The choice of 3 interchangable ear cushions, great volume, crisp output and decent range make it unbeatable. The battery life is somewhat less that the motorola headsets, but I purchased an extra charger for home. The power button is small, but using it is a minor problem that resolves with a little practice. The sound is crisp and clear. The range is as good or better than the motorola sets.

Very good sound quality plus very cool design.Cons: DSP doesn't help too much, double click doesn't work on my new Nokia 6133, it dials numbers... at random. Poor battery life (I have the old nokia headset and it holds battery much longer).

This is my second BlueTooth headset, after a Jabra, and is a definite improvement. Crystal clear sound, good range and is very comfortable to wear. Has quite stellar sound cancellation too.I am not a big fan of devices which stick in your ear canal and the Voyager uses a different approach with various size foam pads that rest against the opening in your ear, but not in it.Other reviewers have made comment about the size of the power button. Yes, it is small and odd-shaped, but who cares? It's easy enough to use unless you have very odd shaped hands and no thumb.Now to the issue of battery life. Plantronics claim days, other users have reported hours of life. I believe I have figured out why this occurs. I use this headset with a Nokia 6600 and found that if you terminate the call with the phone instead of the headset, the headset remains connected to the phone via BlueTooth, draining the battery even when not on a call. If you terminate a call with the button on the headset, it will break the BlueTooth connection with the phone (after a couple of minutes) and you will get the days of battery life Plantronics claim. To remake the connection, you have to press the button on the side of the headset - the connection may take several seconds to hook up. Not sure if this is a bug with the BlueTooth protocol, the phone, or the headset. Personally, I have found that BlueTooth is not a very well implemented protocol by most manufacturers.In summary, well worth buying, especially at the bargain prices it is currently being offered at.

With so many charging options, my headset battery is never low. I'm using this with my krzr phone, and my calls are very clear, with no complaints of background noise from whomever I'm talking to. But I think my favorite aspect of the headset has to be the ear gels. I have very small ears, and had to return two headsets prior to purchasing this one because they would literally fall off of my ear. This one is very snug and comfortable. I highly recommend this headset.

Very good sounding both ways but not usable in 18 wheeler. Mic is overwhelmed by the 75 to 100db of ambient background noise. Good noise canceling in other environments.Not good outside in wind even with new mic grill.

I found the 655 to be so light and unobstructive that I sometimes forget it is in my ear (I do not use the curved support). The noise suppression from the DSP allows me to talk and hear clearly even with the top down while driving. The voice-dialing support has missed perhaps one command since I upgraded my phone (UT Starcom Pocket PC) voice software. The Bluetooth range is a full 30 feet plus and I get about a week's usage out of a full charge. I highly recommend this unit for anyone considering a hands-free device.

This product is great when you are in a controled sound enviroment but I bought it to use while out on construction sites and it is useless because everyone I am talking to complains about all the backround noise. While driving in my truck no problems, I love the battery operated charger it is fantastic I wish I could get one for my Cell Phone.

But it's performance really disappointed me. I have 3 Plantronic DSP 500 headsets, for different computers, that I LOVE. This product is nothing like those. Granted, they serve different purposes, but still. If I have my phone clipped at my waist on the right, and wear this headset in my left ear, I lose my connection. I'm a big guy, but hell, I'm not THAT big. The ONLY time I seem to keep a connection to it is when I clip my phone (LG VX8300) on my Truck's driver-side sun-visor & wear the headset. Even then it sporadically drops the connection. We're talking less than 2 feet here. I've had this thing for about 3 weeks now, but I think I'm going to have to take the loss & return it. Maybe I got a bad unit, who knows. I really did want to like this thing. It does look nice. I'll give them that. But I need a little more than that unfortunately.

This is a great little bluetooth headset at a very reasonable price. I'm a first time bluetooth user and it was extremely simple to pair with my Motorola SLVR 7 and use right out of the box. I researched many headsets before selecting the Plantronics 510 Voyager. One review said the 510 might be a problem for glasses wearers, so I almost didn't buy it because of that comment. However, I wear reading glasses while working as well as glasses for distance when I drive a car and I haven't had a bit of trouble with the over the ear configuration on the 510. It is so lightweight that I hardly know it's on my ear. And the sound quality is superb! I can talk for long periods of time and find it to be a real pleasure to use. Callers don't even realize I'm using a headset. Actually, the sound quality is an improvement over using my SLVR without a headset. Amazing!

I thought the product was 'okay' but not as good as the plantronics Voyager 510. I have both and will now continue to use only the voyager, or simply get another voyager. The voyager is more comfortable, at least to me, and most importantly it offers better clarity on the call from both ends.Come on, plantronics, you can do better than this.jim g

I read all of the ratings before I bought the 645. Everyone seemed to have problems with the charger. When I charged my headset I the charger to be very good. I couldn't dislodge the headset by shaking it or tossing it on the seat of my truck while charging. It seated in the charger and was secure. I think Plantronics should change the charge indication to a solid red while charging and switch to a blinking red when the unit is 90% charged, but that is just a suggestion.Sound quality is excellent and volume is great.

I was actually talking to someone as I sat in the pool and when I finished the call I accidentally knocked it into the pool. But I didnt notice! Untill when I looked down (it was like 5 min later) I see a little glowing blue light! I though Oh crap, I just destroyed my headset. well I dove down and brought it up and tried to dry it with a towel and let it set for a couple of days. I turned it on AND IT STILL WORKS GREAT.If that isnt good design what is. I would give this 6 stars if it let me. Wow, I bet this thing is gonna last for ages. Ive already had it for 1.5 years.

This headset is fantastic. It's light - (sometimes I forget I'm wearing it and put house phone to the same ear) the sound quality is great, it's loud enough, the noise cancellation works so well I am able to take a call in a loud restaurant without having to leave the room. It's easy to use, and everyone in the family would rather use it than our regular phone. I wear it all the time when driving or working around the house, and often keep it on most of the day at work. The price is quite reasonable, especially if you get it in conjunction with an Amazon credit card, when it's almost free!

The voice is good for both parties I have not tried it out doors in wind. But if you move more than 3-4 feet from the phone it breaks up real bad. Forget the 30 ft range they say it has. Now I am not sure if the phone has anything to do with range either. The phone it is used with is Audiovox XV6600 a Verizon pocket pc and phone combo. I also have a Motorola hs820 blue tooth and the range is about 10 ft on it but it is horrible in the wind.

I wanted a headset to use with my new Samsun i730 Pocket PC phone (way cool), as well as, use with my 5.8GHz cordless home phone via a Jabra A210 bluetooth adapter, and this hit the mark.This was the only headset I found to synchronize with TWO devices, so I paired it easily with the i730, then the Jabra A210 adapter, and whola, whichever rings if I am close to both, I can answer either line with just one headset.I bought and test the Jabra BT250V and BT800, the 250V sounded good and was pretty comfortable, but could NOT sync with TWO devices at the same time, and the BT800 was cool, but it was not secure on my ear and let in too much outside noise.The Plantronics 510 sounds the best of them all, and it is extremely comfortable, I had it on for 3 hours one day and it was still fine. I love the configuration of the small boom with the behind the ear battery, great design. The battery life has been great as well, I have been getting 4+ hours of straight talk time and several days of standby. The AC charger is pretty small as well, nice for travel. Also, this headset had the least amount of static from what I would assume to be the bluetooth connection (actually, there is NO static most of the time), while both the Jabra ones had a bit of static, the BT800 being the better of the two Jabra headsets for me. Oh, and I got this thing for $50 on amazon... what a deal, I cannot believe what terrific sounds and functionality at this price!Gripes: I hate to say there are any gripes because I really like this headset, but we are hear for full disclosure and helping eachother with thorough reviews, so here they are... I did like the vibrate option of the Jabra devices, which this does not have. Also, not sure if it is just my device, but the power button is not very tactile, which means, when I press it, it does not feel like it moves and I cannot feel any detent, but I have been able to use the button without much issue.Needless to say I love this headset and put this as my first choice if anyone asks for my recommendation.Cheers!!!!

And for such a great price! I've seen this exact headset package sold for as much as $80! So right off the bat, the savings were worth it. I have tried several other bluetooth products for my phone (not going to say who's, but there name begins with an M and ends in an Otorola...), and none of them did the trick. This is by far the most comfortable of any model I've tried. I know that seems odd, considdering the size, but it's true! The headset is extremely lightweight. I sometimes forget I'm even wearing it until I get a call. The soft rubber Plantronics uses for the over-the-ear part of the unit actually makes wearing a bluetooth headset and glasses comfortable! Sound quality is great. I am able to use my voicedial features and have crystal clear conversations even in noisy and windy conditions! And not once has it disconnected from my phone in the middle of a call! Finally, a bluetooth product I want to KEEP!!!

This is my third Bluetooth earpiece, and by far the best I have owned. All the charging options are pretty neat, and the design of the product itself is sleek. There is definately room for improvement, but that goes for all bluetooth earpieces. Overall, best in class, and worth the money.

I've had this bluetooth headset now for a few days and have been able to get a good feel for it. It had the best reviews I could find and I have not been dissapointed. I have a Treo 650 and it syncs perfectly with it. If I do get more than 5 feet away it does begin to crackle and pop slightly. For me this is not an issue, though, since I mostly use it while in the car driving, or while at my home office with my phone on the desk. If I have to walk and talk I'll stick the phone in my pocket and be good to go. Over all I highly recommend the headset. It's tiny, super light, and the smaller sized ear piece fits perfectly in my ear. Enjoy!

This is the best headset I have ever used. I'm not going to give it the best sound quality I've ever heard, I'll say that's above average though. The noise cancelling works great and the fit is extremely comfortable. There are 3 different earbuds to choose from and this product does not feel as though it is going to fall off as many headsets do.The multipoint technology on this product is seemless! Allowing me to switch between my laptop and cell phone easier than I would ever imagine. I use this for a tablet pc with speech recognition, and commands work great as well as dictating text.I have one con for this product... The microphone pickup volume is a little low for dictating text on my laptop, but this may be the case for any headset (I have not tried other headsets with my laptop). Commands still work fine and I probably just need to go through more of the "voice training sessions" on my laptop.I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a need for multiple bluetooth devices or even just one! And the less than $50 amazon.com price is unbeatable for such a quality device!!

I was very excited to get this - it paired with my Verizon phone easily, it was incredibly comfortable in my ear, and I could hear everyone more clearly than I ever could on corded ear pieces. The problem is that no one could hear me. I sounded like I was talking from a wind tunnel every time. I'm unfortunately returning it tonight. I'm still high on bluetooth technology, but now I'll have to try a different model.

Great head piece light and after a few minutes you forget its in your ear. Sound is great but for the other party listening, they pick up everything. Noise canceling is minimal and ear volume could be just a little higher. My final point if its going to be used indoors its perfect, but for noisy sittuations not good at all and don't get caught outside on a windy day.

I have been using this headset for about a month and have had no problems with it.The sound quality is better than most headsets that I have used. I have no difficulty hearing others. One day when it was very windy there was a little too much wind noise in the mic for the person that I was speaking to. Since I purchased this to use in the car (with the windows rolled up) wind noise is not an issue for me.The device automatically connected to my RAVR phone so connection was not an issue.I am not crazy about the connect button on the mic arm, and open the phone to connect to calls instead.The headset is much more comfortable than others that I have used. The set comes with three different sizes of ear pieces which makes it fit well for almost everyone. Also, the device is very lightweight and I forget that it is on my ear. Also, the device is very easy to switch from ear to ear (right to left side).The battery life on this device is amazing!!! I only plug it in once a week, and that is just as a precaution. I only wish that all battery operated devices lasted this long on one charge.I would recommend this product to others.

I bought the Voyager 510 for my wife after trying 4 other brands. None of the Jabras or Motorolas come close to the performance and comfort of the 510. We liked it so much so that I went ahead and bought one for myself as well. It is very easy to pair with our phones (Samsung SPH-A640) and the range is awesome. We roam around the house with no problems. The wind noise cancellation works well in moderate wind speeds. It is somewhat noisy when the wind picks up or gusts over 8-10 MPH. I have paired it with my laptop as well and use with Skype. I can switch between the phone & Skype literally with the push of a buttom! Highly recommend this little wonder.

I've had great results with Plantronics. And this is coming from someone that has used three other companies. The sound quality is great. The volume control is excellent. The gel earbud fits easily and is quitecomfortable to my suprise. Being able to charge the headset when away from an outlet is brilliant. Plantronics is far ahead of the game and my buck stops here!!

Similar to most other reviews, I find the 645 to be very effective. Quality is good both ways as long as you stay within 20 feet of the phone. I use it in the car all the time and no complaints. Battery life is decent and great with the battery charger handy. I wish it would stay in the cradle a bit better though as sometimes it just falls off while walking or climbing stairs.

Definately NOT the wireless piece for me. I cant speak for the sound quality because I barely used it. Since all the pieces exploded out of the case everytime I opened it, the parts I used continually get "lost" in the bottom of my small purse. I actually found the ear clip on the ground outside my car at the hotel the next night because the streetlight was reflecting on it. The outlet charger connections didnt connect properly so I had to rely on batteries. If you are the kind of person where everything is always in the right place at the right time, this might work for you...if you are on the fly, dont waste your money looking under hotel beds, rental cars seat or anywhere else trying to put the jigsaw together everytime you need it.

I just recieved my headset yesterday and I have to say that I am very pleased with my purchase. I've tried several headsets including Jabra and Motorola and was not satisfied with the sound quality at all. As part of my business, I have to drive in a van and it gets pretty loud at times. With this device, I am able to hear clearly and the person on the other end can hear me without interference or echoes like before with other devices. I can't say enough about how crystal clear the sound is and how good the volume controls are. With my Motorola, no matter how high the volume was, it was almost impossible to hear the other person under noisy conditions. The pairing was a cinch to setup. For anyone looking for a headset with the best sound quality, this is it folks.

I really like this Bluetooth, its the lightest one yet, very comfortable all day, sound is great, distance is no better than any others.I did notice on the 645 compared to the 640, the connect time is a bit slow once I push the button to answer. I hear the people, "hello, hello..." otherwise I really like it!

Finally piece of mind. After trying two cheap devices that disconnected me permanently here is finally a headset that works. People can hear me clearly, and I can hear clearly as well. I am using it with a Blackberry 7290 and it works fine on the daily commute in the car, even on conference calls.The device also works fine with the MacBook, I am using it for Skype calls on Mac OS X.

This the 4th HS I've tried out and may be the "keeper". All have been paired to a Verizon Motorola E815 (a very nice phone btw but another story). First was a Jabra BT 150. Very good sound both ways with this. But it's oddities drove me nuts. It would redial my phone by itself, the light was very large and BRIGHT (so much it was like a blue strobe at night), and the fit was not good. Next came a Motorla H700. nicely made with good incoming sound but HORRIBLE outgoing. A call to Motorola produced a new "B" version. It was WAY better than the first but still not very good. Outgoing audio was muffled and distorted. I tried than a Motorola H605 which was even worse than the first 700. A call to Motorola and I was told that these sets were never designed to work with CDMA phones (even though the PHONE is a Mot.) and was told I should try an HS850 well I decided to get this instead. Audio both ways is quite crisp and clear even in wind or with windows down, fit is quite comfortable.I gae it 4 stars because the button ergonomics are horrible, very hard to use, and layout is bad. Also the features of the phone do not work as well with it as with the Mot. H605. But than hey, it works.

I don't usually write reviews, but when I started looking and trying these headsets the reviews on amazon came in real handy, so I'll add my 2 cents and give a little back to the community. I tried almost every model from the local electronics store and burned a bunch of gas going back and forth. After 2 models of motorola, 2 of nokia and 1 of jabra I found they all had the same problem. At he highest volumes they all had really bad sound quality, and if you were in the car or a noisy enviroment the person on the other end was nearly inaudible. I don't understand how major manufacturers can miss the one thing you absolutely must have. I mean if you can't hear the person on the other end whats the point??? I was about to give up on bluetooth and go back to a wired set but I read a few reviews on amazon and went for this one. I finally struck gold. The voyager 510 is LOUD! I can only use it at half volume. In the car or noisy areas you can turn it up a bit more and hear everything. Sound quality on the other end is great too, people hear me loud and clear. You may want to use the foam sock to thats included to shield the mic from noise if it's windy though. Overall range is great I get about 30 feet and with walls it's less but just as good as the competition. It's super comfortable and has 3 different sizes of ear buds to fit different ears. Battery life is excellent. It's cheaper than all the rest too! I'm really happy with it.

This thing works every time with my Blackberry 8700. Yes, the charger is a little klugy but it works. Have a Jabra JX-10 as well and while its a good tool, the 945 DSP provides better sound and greater comfort for my needs.Only clear advantage to the Jabra is the desk cradle / charger. Seems like a lot of the issues people raise in their reviews are either related to the phone they use and resulting pairing challenges or personal preference (like the comments regarding lost pieces in hotel rooms and purses).For me, this item works just find and have recommended it to friends, co-workers and strangers.

My second blue tooth device. this is a great product. small, great battery life, good sound quality, easy to use, comfortable. only down side is the over the ear clip-- it keeps coming loose while the head set is in my pocket.

I only used it two days, and it wasn't always easy to hear with. I didn't notice that it slipped out of my ear and was lost while I was shopping. I won't buy this model again.
