Update:I have not been able to find another headset that seems to be remotely in the same league as this one in terms of features I opted to do a little troubleshooting. I connected my headset to my computer and did some basic recording in quicktime and sent the audio output back to the headset. I have to say, the audio quality of the mic is very good. I wouldn't hesitate to record a podcast with this headset set up this way. It is the UC version with expanded audio so you're not stuck with a mic that sounds like a phone.I then streamed some music via iTunes to my headset. I got some snap, crackle, and pop, which I've come to expect from this thing but after I re-paired the headset with my MacBook Pro it went away. The sound quality of the speaker itself is only so so but I didn't get a mono headset to listen to music. In any case, the clicking and popping appear to be a result of bad bluetooth implementation in my handsets and not due to the Voyager Pro.With all that being said. I can still only give this headset a 3 because it still gets confused if there is any moisture on the ear piece. When I call people, if I have been wearing the headset all day, as I usually do, I have to visually check to see if the call timer is active on the phone. If it is, I know that I need to put the phone up to my non-headset ear to see if the person has been saying, "hello" wondering why I'm not talking back to them. On top of that, the sensor is supposed to automatically disconnect the headset and route calls through the headset if you take the headset off your ear. But again, sometimes it just transfers the call to your headset even if you're not wearing it. The capacitance sensor of this headset is a wonderful idea. When it works right it's amazing. There's nothing like saying, "hold on a sec" sticking on your headset and it just magically transfers. The problem is that it's a coin toss as to whether it will actually work. One other thing to mention is that if you don't have short hair (I mean military haircut short) you have to make sure to pull your hair out of the way of the earpiece because it will mess with the sensor and transfer calls back to your handset. It's such a shame. I checked the reviews on the UC2 and it seems to still have this same issue. It's too bad they don't let you turn that feature off.Last thing: Mac support for Plantronics products is wanting. When I bought this there was no software on the Plantronics site for Mac. Now there's some but the vocalyst software is still PC only, so some of the features they tout are PC only features. With a year into this headset I'd say, if you're not planning to use the mic for recording and all you want is good call quality, get the voyager pro +. It has much, if not all, of the noise canceling technology and the same mic, but lacks the crappy capacitance sensor. Plus you save 50 bucks.Update:I wrote this review and put it under the voyager pro + by mistake. Anyway, the update is that I've had this item for about a year and I'm just getting too frustrated with the sensor to use it anymore. If you have hair between your ear and the headset the sensor randomly won't connect or will transfer to the handset.Additionally after using this for a year on several different phones this headset has terrible sound artifacts. The sound regularly drops out, clicks and pops. I am very easy on electronics and this headset never leaves my home office so I know it's not wear and tear. I've been told that my mic does not exhibit these attributes but it's so annoying that I'm trying to find an alternative. The big problem is that I use this for work and am on the phone for as many as 6 hours a day. Most other headsets just don't have the battery life that this one does. I may just buy the voyager+ and hope I don't get one with audio artifacts.Original Review:I've had this headset for several months now. Overall it's an outstanding headset however, the plus features are actually more of a hindrance. I thought it would be convenient to have a headset that would automatically transfer my calls to the headset if I took the headset off. What a great idea. Here's the rub. The sensor is too easily confused. I can't count the number of calls that I thought I had lost only to look at the handset to find that the call had been transferred. At first I thought it may have been that I had wet hair after my shower, or maybe my hair was too long but I've since had a very short hair cut and still the same issue. Part of the problem is that I'm not sure where the sensor is so I don't know which part of the headset to make sure makes good contact with my ear so I fidget around with it until it finally stays paired with my phone.I purchased this because I work from home and use my phone for my home office. I am on this headset for 5 plus hours a day every day. The sound quality is excellent. The noise suppression is excellent. It will drown out most static soun

I lost my Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth Headset by Plantronics and decided to replace it with the much acclaimed Plantronics 38885-01 Voyager PRO UC B230 (Standard). Before the pro I had a Motorola 850 which you could open or close the tiny microphone boom and that would disconnect the Bluetooth from the phone. Convenient!! The basic Voyager PRO would not do that; you had to push on a button for a couple seconds and turn it off or you could disconnect it using an icon on the phone, otherwise it would stay connected to your phone. This upgraded version sounded like the answer. After all, it knows when it's on your ear and when it's not........as it turns out, not exactly.First the good: 1 The sound quality is very very good; probably the best there is in a Bluetooth phone headset. 2 Although rather large, it is very comfortable. 3 The battery life is all day using it a lot (a lot = several 1 hour conversations per day). 4 The included case is a very nice holster with a sturdy clip for sliding the case on your belt, in your purse, in a camera bag. If you place the case on the outside of a bag, it may fall off; it's NOT secure. (The fate of my basic Voyager PRO) 5 The PRO UC's ability to suppress extraneous noise is EXCELLENT !!!! From water running in your sink, an espresso maker, an espresso bean grinder, the obnoxious sound of the beeper telling you you left the keys in your car....all dampened well. My gauge for this test? My fiancee who acts like she has just suffered permanent hearing damage if I tried to do any of the above before. Now says the sounds are barely audible and hardly annoying. YES !!!!!)The not so good: 1 The enterprise software designed to allow you to modify factory settings installs easily but after 1 hour of trying I cannot get it to work. Although i'm fairly computer savvy, required for my job, even if I weren't you should not have to have a computer science degree to work it. (VISTA 64 bit) 2 The range of the unit from my HTC Incredible is less in my 1200 sq ft house than my basic Voyager Pro was. But, still good. 3 The reason I bought it was: Because the unit knew when it was on my ear and when it wasn't. Well, that turns out not to be completely true. .... If you end a conversation, hang up and then take the PRO UC ear piece off your ear and place it in your purse/pocket/table, it doesn't understand that. It will remain connected. If you try to call using the phone or someone calls in, you will not be able to hear them on the phone because the PRO UC remains connected. .... However, if you remove the Bluetooth from your ear DURING the conversation, the PRO UC DOES understand that and WILL disconnect. If you continue to talk on the phone and then place the PRO UC back on your ear it WILL reconnect. Again, the auto connect and disconnect only works if you are talking on the phone. If you are not talking on the phone, there is NO ongoing call, this auto feature of knowing whether it is on your ear or not, does NOT work for me. And I bought it for that feature. Please look at the picture I have submitted as to what is in the box. No place in the Amazon/Plantronics specs., does it mention the inclusion of a case. The case does come with it; don't by the case unless you want two. As mentioned above, the case is an excellent design and well built.I give the PRO UC three stars, because of it's failure to understand whether it is on my ear or not when I am not connected. This feature was the reason I bought it.If you don't care about this feature.....it's a 5+ star in my opinion. Then why not just buy the Basic Voyager PRO? Because it doesn't have the fantastic noise suppression the PRO UC does.UPDATE: 16 Feb 2012: I have really wanted to love this headset...for all its attributes, clear sound etc. But a nagging problem has been its lack of true understanding whether it is on my ear or not. At times shifting back and forth between audio through the headset and an uncommanded transfer back to the phone while I'm talking or the other person is. I have dealt with this problem on and off from the beginning. Tonight, however, it came to a head. I'm in traffic, on my bluetooth, talking to my boss. The bluetooth starts shifting or call between the phone and the bluetooth. My boss gets frustrated.....fearing a wreck I politely try to explain briefly my problem. He says, "Then get one that works!!!!" And hangs up. Ruh-roh !!!Sadly, I'm looking for something else, tonight.

Bought 2 of these - one for my wife's iPhone 4 and the other for my Bold 9000. Both of us are heavy users and spend a lot of time on conference calls. I assumed it'd be a great way to handle the issue of shorter talk times & easier call handling with the Voyager Pro UC.My review is based on the B230 M - which provides integration with MS products.1. PAIRINGiPhone 4 - Super smooth pairing; was done in a less than 30 seconds. Note that the battery meter on the iPhone is a brilliant touch.Bold 9000 - Smooth pairing - did not pair right the first time. No battery meters on the Blackberry though (didnt expect it anyway)2. VOICEiPhone 4 - I'm not sure if this is a phone/bluetooth related issue; but caller voice over the bluetooth with an iPhone wasnt as expected. Dont get me wrong, most people wont even know the difference (maybe I've got dog's ears.....) The audio sounds a bit (teeny weeny bit) muffled at times...and if you'd switch back over to the iphone - the audio was better.Bold 9000 - No problems here. The audio from my BB was just as crisp in both cases - i.e. with/without bluetooth.Note that I tested the above over a few days (even switching headsets) before I could conclude that this has to do with the phone rather than just the headset alone.3. A2DP STREAMINGiPhone - Music playback over the headset is crystal clear for those music lovers. Especially those who use the ipod feature of their iPhones.Bold - Didnt expect audio streaming over bluetooth in a 3 year old BB, but it worked just fine. Emails also were read out from the BB loud and clear ( I use a 3rd party app for readin out mails, but the bluetooth function worked well.)4. BATTERYiPhone - for heavy users, u should have this last through the day for you. I cant validate the talktime claim yet cos I think it ran short of the 6 hour estimated claim by Plantronics. Maybe it needs a few more charge cycles before you reach optimum battery life.Bold - Same as above.5. TOUCH-LESS CALL ANSWERINGThis is the headset's killer feature. You can answer calls by just placing the headset on your ear. You can even seamlessly switch between your phone and headset by JUST TAKING THE HEADSET OFF YOUR EARS.I wish I could confirm that killer claim - unfortunately it doesn't work all that well.It all began in 2011 when on a bright Thursday morning, I was rushing to join a conf call.....The issue crept up when I placed the call from my BB Bold and placed the headset on my ears - I couldnt hear anything for a few seconds. I guessed the call hadnt gone through; but my Blackberry showed the call was connected. I then pressed the call button and the headset instantly transferred the call from the device to the headset. Strange, I thought... but I let it pass. The issue happened again later that evening when my wife called. I placed the headset on my ear to answer the call - but I heard NOTHING. I had to press the call button and as expected; the call was transferred to my headset.I tried switching my headset with my wife's iPhone to check if this was an issue with my Blackberry and it wasnt.I called Plantronics support and after an hour of troubleshooting an recalibrating the device - we found that it was an issue with the sensor on the headset. I was offered a replacement.I contacted the authorized retailer and they called me back with an RMA. Now here's the best part - the exec at the distributor (the authorized Plantronics distributor) mentioned that he's heard from Plantronics that there were a few headsets coming back because of the same issue. He then recommended that I'd rather wait for the next batch of units to be manufactured at Platronics that contained the fix for the issue rather than take a replacement headset right away.So as it stands now - My wife continues to use her new headset without trouble; while my headset has been sent back for a refund.Wife - HappyMe - Not Happy. (Warning - do NOT complain to your wife if you own 2 products of the same kind - and YOURS doesnt work....)I'm rating the product overall at 3 stars - I've been a Plantronics customer for over 5 years and I know they make good products. I know they'll fix this issue and I'll be ready to purchase my headset then.Back to my Plantronics 975 for now.Hope this review helps someone out there.

This is the Bluetooth that I would recommend for everyone. It has such clarity because of its noise cancellation, that when talking with people over your phone, they will find it hard to believe that you are using a headset. What I really purchased this for, however, was to use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I had some trouble with it to begin with because there were two key bits of information that only Plantronics gave me, and that was to run Windows media mutated whenever you are using it for any dictation. That key bit of information made all the difference in the world for Dragon to be able to recognize my voice, with clarity. The other thing when using Dragon that you may have to do, is to go into your sound settings on your PC, once the dongle is plugged in and pair to the headset; to set the headset as your default. The internal mic on my laptop was competing with the headset and didn't recognize the headset exclusively until I set the headset as the default. I found those two bits of information very critical, in order to get Dragon to operate very efficiently.I have version 12 of Dragon, but had used version 11 for two years. If you have accuracy issues when using Dragon with this headset, it may not be the headset's fault, as you must train Dragon to recognize your words with your voice. The more you use it, the more accurate it will become.I did my research before purchasing this headset and it was recommended by Nuance for use with Dragon12 and I must say, once I discovered those two critical bits of information, it has worked so well, that I will not go back to a corded headset. The freedom of movement and the clarity of the voice recognition makes this Voyager headset so worth the money! I found a steal for one on Amazon. The B230 Voyager Pro UC is the newer version which will work the same way but has smart technology included, as it will also work with your tablet devices.

I ordered this headset and it was an excellent headset from a clarity perspective. Syncing with 2 phones was usually flawless and it would reconnect generally without fuss if I walked out of range periodically. Battery life, in my opinion, was poor, and there was no indication of time remaining except for when it beeped that it was low. But in less than a year, the battery quit charging. So perhaps I never had a good battery to begin with. Plus it was missing a dedicated charger which would have been nice. Now let me say, when the battery died, I placed one call to Plantronics. I setup an online account, they emailed me a return form, I mailed it back to them (about $4) and within a week, I received a replacement free of charge. No questions asked. And in return, I didn't just get the same model. They sent me the most recent model - the Legend. And I am THRILLED. I now have the dedicated charger, the voice tells me the battery life remaining (which is greater than the previous model) and it fits a little more comfortably. So overall, I would recommend the Legend over the Voyager, but Plantronics as a customer focused company is FANTASTIC!

first off, i had a voyager pro+ that i mated with my previous laptop running windows 7. i did have to install an additional bluetooth s/w stack to get voice to work. fast forward to a new laptop with windows 7 and the bluetooth voice s/w stack, lync and the pro+ kept on muting. it kept on saying "mute enabled" but that is not an announcement from lync or the pro+. i know it's not lync and windows 7 because i bought a motorola flip and it works fine but it was had too much static for my taste. i also tried lync and my motorola in-car speaker (t505) and it works fine. so it's something about the pro + but it cannot be updated via firmware.too frustrated and needing a bluetooth headset with lync for handsfree, i succumbed to buy another plantronics product. this pro uc b230-m (m for microsoft) was seamless, practically plug-n-play and complete integration with lync. since i already 2 other bluetooth headsets for my cel + in-car speakerphone, i don't need to pair the pro uc with anything else. so all in all and even if i inch my way to having a bluetooth headset for each day of the workweek, at least this one works flawlessly.

NOTE: Bluetooth reception and quality is dependent on the phone or device the headset is paired to, along with other factors ( interference on 2.4Ghz spectrum, such as high wireless density)Great headset for people who want mobility or the freedom to multitask.I have verified that the PC/Phone combination pair works well.I have tested this with Skype, Cisco IP Communicator, and Microsoft Lync.I work from a home office, so I'm bouncing between my corporate laptop and my phone. I can use this for conference calls, then flip over to talking on my cellphone without issue.Pairing and reception with my Samsung Galaxy (Samsung Vibrant) works well indoors. I live in an apartment, so if I step out my front door, it needs to be <2 feet from my phone or it starts to sound jittery. The amount of wireless Access points around me is ridiculous, and they are on all channels, not just 1,6,11... so of course reception is going to suck, but keep in mind that's localized.Do youself a favor... buy this.. maybe get ahold of a spare battery. It works.

The Plantronics Voyager PRO UC is a good headset. The quality is crystal clear. The people on the other end do not know I am on a headset. The battery is long lasting, where I charge it every couple days after multiple hours of use each day. The headset is comfortable for the most part, with the boom reversing to easily fit on either ear. The volume on the top makes for each adjustment. The power button in the back cannot be operated (or I do not recommend you operate it) while wearing the headset. The force required to depress the button is very uncomfortable while being worn. The power button will flash with remaining battery when depressed, and has to be held down to turn power on and off with indicator lights. There are two complaints, which are relatively minor. This is the second Voyager PRO I have owned and used, so my complaints are not big enough from keeping me from buying a second. The complaints are:1) The headset does not filter background noise very well. The person I am talking to says my voice is very clear, but other people's voices in the background can also be easily heard. This is amplified in windy conditions, though I know of no headset that can handle wind.2) The answer / hang-up button is in an odd place. To press the button, the headset is pushed into the ear. I find myself grabbing the earpiece and boon so as not to push it into my ear. The button on top or bottom of the boon would encourage the user to squeeze the boon to answer, which I would much prefer. These are my two complaints. Both are relatively minor given the positives of the headset, but they should be mentioned. Overall, I give the headset a ranking of 4 out of 5. If Plantronics changes the answer / hang-up button location, I will change my score to a 5 out of 5.(T)Hank(s)

Range is limited and starts to fade quickly if barriers such as walls come into play while holding a conversation. It is very comfortable for 8 hour usage. I use it with lync and iphone and wish it would be connected with both and switch over to the device receiving the call which some headsets I know do. When I am on the road its hard to hear the other party unless you crank it to max volume which can be disconcerting, because you leave your self open to having your ears blown out with a sudden volume change on the other end. The battery life is exactly 8 hrs and requires me to charge every day. You can use it without the dongle depending on the configuration of your computer.

Works great for online meetings using Lync, I assume it would be good for Skype and other online audio connections. I just leave it plugged in until I need it. Sound is clear and others can hear me fine.Battery life seems good. A voice says 6 hours available when I connect - I've done 3-4 with no problem.Only issue I had was with trying to get the small ear buds on. I ripped them and that was that. Probably due to my own clumsiness, but IMO could have been less fragile. Be careful doing this. The other ones that came with it were way too large for me. I just ordered a replacement online and everything is cool.Simple to set up on Windows 7 and Lync. Haven't used it with other software.

If you've made it this far, you should just stop reading and buy it!!! I upgraded from my Plantronics SaviGo and have not looked back. I've had this for about a month now and LOVE it.Pros:- Connects to my laptop (Win7) with no problem and works great with Unified Communications- Battery life is great, I can take several hour long calls without needing to recharge; and it recharges pretty quick- Voice battery meter is very convenient ("Talk time is 6 hours")- It's very comfortable, i forget i have it on- It will stream audio (music, alerts, voice mail, virtually any sound your phone makes) from your phone. Haven't tried it on my pc yet- Auto answer works very well. If the earpiece is laying on the table and you pick it up, it does not answer until its on your head- Noise reduction works amazingly well. People ask me if i got a new headset, they say i sound better than talking directly into the phone.- The dongle is nice and small, I just leave it plugged into my laptop when it travels. No issues.- Range is pretty good. I could go a little further with the SaviGo, but different technology. I can walk most of the way to the other end of the house. I'm happy with it.Cons:- Voice activated dialing is poor and it assumes its correct (just places the call without confirmation). I've learned not to use it- This could be my phone, although it didn't do it before = If I have media notifications turned on (a setting for Bluetooth in Android), after ending a call, my phone will randomly (not all the time) play a song that's on my SD card through the headset. I rarely care to have the media audio come through the headset so I just turn the setting on/off as needed.- Since my laptop has Bluetooth built in, I was hoping I could use the headset without the dongle, however I could not get it to work, although I haven't researched it further yet.Over all the cons are just me being picky on the cool things it does. It's the best Bluetooth I've ever owned. Would obviously recommend it!

I got this headset at work. They bought it for me so I can use dragon on the computer to dictate notes. It seems to work very well. Obviously the speech-recongnition of dragon is at issue, but the headset seems to get the info to the computer with no difficulties. It is very comfortable to wear, coming with 3 different size ear plugs. I also connected it to my iPhone--it has no trouble switching between the computer and the phone. People hear me when on calls, and audio from the headset is very clear. The included items (charging cord to connect to USB, plug to connect to wall outlet, carrying case) are all very nice. Overall a very nice product.

This is one of the best headsets I've ever owned. It's actually intelligent. The ability to pair via Bluetooth as well as USB capability makes it just rock! It works perfectly with my Panasonic office phone as well as with my computer apps. The fact that you can just pick it up and put it on when a call comes in is slick; you just have to remember to hang it up afterwards by pushing the button on the boom mic. If you enable Auto Sensing in the control panel (you'll need to download and install the Spokes software on your computer) it will automatically connect to your computer for use with Skype, media apps and web audio and video and will disconnect when you're finished without you having to do anything. It can also be paired with 2 Bluetooth devices as well as the computer which makes it very flexible, I use it with my mobile phone, Android tablet and computer. Well Worth The Money!

This is the best bluetooth I have had yet (2 previous ones were plantronics also). It is awesome at cutting out wind noise, tells you how much talk time you have, has 2 position on/off switch instead of having to hold the button in for 3 seconds or whatever to shut it off or turn it on. The Vocalist software that comes with it is kind of useless (would like to be able to use it to switch to the next music track or whatever), but I didn't buy it for that and had no expectations anyway. The best thing about this unit is the comfort! I was initially hesitant because I was not sure how well this would stay in your ear without the loop...the great news is, it stays in beautifully. Shook my head so hard I got dizzy and it did not come out. The M1100 is so comfortable I have 'lost' it twice because I forgot it was in my ear. 50 bucks may seem like a lot for a bluetooth, but this one is worth it.

This is a great design, comfortable, slick, with great features. But, I'm sending it back due to a slight lack of treble making it sometimes unintelligible to me and the other person. A design flaw -- the treble needs another 500-1000Hz extension.I've owned the following Plantronics. I've recorded and compared each through an iPhone 3Gs, and also directly to the much better Bluetooth reception of my MacBook Pro. My sound quality comments are about the sound at the other person's end, but often the descriptors apply to the sound I hear as well:Voyager Pro - huge but very good sound quality.Voyager 520 - inexpensive, comfortable, and very clear if a bit crisp (trebly and harsh) sound. Bluetooth range is up to 15 ft, and breakup occurs on your end before on the listeners end, so you hear when to reduce your range before they have a chance to complain. I've used and gifted about 6 of these.Discovery 925 - clear sound, not as much treble as the 520 so not as easily intelligible, but more natural tonal quality. it is small and comfortable, but the large button has too little spring-back and can be triggered by accident easily. Bluetooth breakup is audible first to your conversant, so you aren't able to hear that you are exceeding its Bluetooth range.Discovery 975 - almost as intelligible as the 925. Better looking than the 925 and better button (smaller, stiffer, harder to hit by accident). The edges chip easily if you drop it or put it in a pocket with the phone or (especially) keys and change; this is quite visible because the surface is gun-metal gray over white plastic. I plan to buy again... but I'll paint the edges with a hard clear coat from the hobby store.Savor M1100 (I tested two units) -- measurably less treble, with a slightly chesty sound (too much lower midrange fullness) as heard by the other party, described by one as if listening to me talk into a speakerphone. Treble is rolled off at ~1.5kHz by 12 dB compared to the Discovery units (subjectively, less than half the treble). Consequentially, it is more often unintelligible, at least with my iPhone 3Gs due to inability to distinguish sounds from each other (t, s, z, sh, d -- all tend to sound like sh or th). Good enough to be intelligible direct to my MacBook Pro Bluetooth (although the built-in mic of the Mac is MUCH better), but still the higher frequencies are rolled off too much. I'm returning both the original and the (excellent) customer service replacement, and sending my FFT plots too. Occasionally the bluetooth breaks up a bit more often than the 975 an 925. Talk time is less than the 925 and 975 (not to mention both of which also come with a carrying case containing a backup battery that charges the unit fairly quickly, doubling talk time). The Savor also comes with an interesting (didn't test) one-year free trial of a voice-based recognition and information service which, if you like it and are a frequent user, might be worth the yearly price. But another revenue stream or business model is being created with this product line.

I researched a lot on the web and this was the best rated product. So, I was not disappointed when I received the product, I pair it with two HTC cell phones and my laptop that uses Cisco IP phone. Cell phones work great. However, I'm having some issues with the audio on the laptop. I believe this is related the the IP phone software configuration and I haven't had time tome figure it out yet,

I have spent a lot of time looking for and trying out headsets that a) have a very good sound quality, sufficient for speech recognition, b)have a great noise cancellation that permits to have phone calls in noisy environments without disturbing a conference call to much, c) are compact and wireless. This one is a clear winner on all counts. If you're into fancy, tiny Bluetooth headsets, I'm sure you find it clunky. If you, like me, have lived several years with theBoom, another excellent headset which unfortunately is both wired and very clunky, you will be thrilled. The sound quality when connected to the PC is fantastic (well, I don't use it for music, just for speech), as well as on the Bluetooth phone. I really couldn't even notice a difference in sound quality between standard bluetooth and the BT300 USB adapter that makes the PC or Mac think it's talking to a USB headset. Very happy after about six hours of continuous use. Excellent results both with Naturally Speaking (PC) and Dragon Dictate (Mac).A few notes:1) I'm not making any use of the motion sensor since I am absolutely convinced it would drive me crazy -- I turned it off right away. Please refer to other reviews for that.2) As other reviewers said: it comes with a fairly nice case that even has a nice little place for the USB adapter -- I would wait with purchasing a case until you lose this one!

I own an iPhone 4S, using this headset with the iPhone is painful.1. I do NOT keep the earpiece in my ear all the time. So, when I get an incoming call, and press the button to answer the call, what happens is the Built-in "Vocalyst" takes over, and screws up and thinks I want to do something, and gets in the way of actually ANSWERING my phone call!2. When I try to make a call, using Siri, or even the non-Siri voice system, built into the iPhone, "Vocalyst" again gets in my way. Where normally I would just press and hold the button on the headset to bring up the iPhone Voice system, I have to "quickly" double-press the button, to bypass "Vocalyst."3. (Note this problem isn't necessarily the fault of the Bluetooth headset)The A2DP functionality is problematic because when I use the iPhone with both the M1100, and either the Headphone jack, and/or the Dock connector (in my car) I have to keep switching audio sources as music, phone calls, and podcasts will revert to the last used source. This wasn't a problem for my last Bluetooth headset, because it didn't have A2DP, so be warned! Now, having said all of that, I love the feel of the headset, when it is in my ear. The weight is perfect, I can put on the headset with one hand, unlike my last headset. I wish the actual talk-time were more like my last headset, but for the different form-factor, I knew this would be shorter, so no complaints there.I've called Plantronics Tech Support, and confirmed that there is zero way to disable "Vocalyst," and thereby eliminate my two major problems with this headset.Lastly, to keep this review fair, my last headset was the "Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth Headset", NOT the "Voyager Pro+" which lasted me for two years, until it finally died, and I bought this as a replacement.

I was beginning to think this day would never come. Had my old Plantronics Voyager 510 for so long and never found anything I liked as well, until now. Sadly, I am no kind of "power user" so my review is probably only going to serve those like myself. People who use a cell (or cordless) phone to actually make calls. But I find this vastly better due to it's excellent voice control, to use on one of my PS3 games (Tom Clancy's EndWar), as well. The biggest complaining I have with my old Plantronics is the on/off button. I swear the finger tip I use for that blankety blank button will probably have to be amputated someday from all the abuse it has taken with that crap button! This new model is like heaven. A nice SIMPLE slide button for on/off. Worth the price of this item for that improvement alone....On the opposite side is a button that you press to control volume. 3 levels to choose from PLUS a "mute" mode. There are features for those who have to be forever "connected" like Vocalyst which I probably will never even use or try. If I decide I want to however, this comes with a 1 year FREE trial. A pass code is included. Personally, I want to be OUT of touch! But should I try it, I will add to this review since there are probably more people who want to spend their time using such things than I do. The device is very simple in that I was able to have it up & running without ever even looking at the directions in less time than it took to unbox the thing. Came in a huge 2 sided plastic case I will probably find some great use for around the house. This headset comes with a nice fabric pouch as well. The only weird (to ME anyway) thing was the natural place to press to take or end a call is actually for voice commands, to call or end a call is at the TOP of a sort of toggle on the earpiece. To call you tap the TOP (not bottom) of the device when in your ear. Things I like:-The SO SIMPLE on/off slide control (LOVE is a better word!)-The sound like ALL my Plantronics devices is excellent-You tap the bottom button and ask about battery life=it TELLS you how much charge remains=brilliant.-Voice Commands in general are just great.-STOUT charger connection, not at all flimsy.-3 adjustable earpieces to fit YOUR ear-An INCLUDED ear "clip" if you feel you really need it Things I dislike:-Nothing at all so far and that is really unusual for me.Some basic specs are:-4 hours talk time-7 days standby time-33 foot range (though I am getting nearly TWICE that for some reason?) I would give this 5 stars and will upgrade it to that once I have more time & use. I just am not the type off person who runs out after 5 minutes yelling this is the BEST! I think this probably is however, but let's start with 4 stars and let it EARN 5 with some serious use & abuse? I own 2 of the previous versions. This cost nothing for me to try thanks to the Amazon Vine Program. If I have ANY complaint it is that now I have to shell out the cash for a SECOND headset because once again, I have stumbled upon something i HAVE to have for both my wife & myself, we don't share well....And I really like to cut down the amount of radiation from a cell phone by using an earpiece like this.

I had a PT 975 and loved it. So I had similar expectations when I bought the Savor. The signal strength is so poor, once you're more than a meter from the headset the reception becomes very crackly. Also, if the headset isn't in direct line of sight of the phone (like your body is in-between), it's crackly. I returned the first one thinking it was defective and the second one does the same thing. I got a Jawbone Era and it has none of these issues.

First, I should caveat this review with the fact that I am a sale person that #1 travels a lot and #2 is on the phone nearly all day. So, if you are like me, you know that being able to hear and be heard clearly no matter where you are is important. This headset meets all my needs and then some!* Call ClarityI have asked about 20 people how I sounded while talking to them, most of which were in different environments - driving the car on the hiqhway, outside near traffic, in a crowded grocery store, even at a football game. All of the people said they could hear me clearly and it did not sound like I was in a tin can. On my end of the phone, everyone also sounded great. Just as they would as if I were using my handset alone* Ease of usePairing this headset was easier then any prior headset. All I did was turn it on and set my Blackberry to Pair and boom, I was done. It didn't even ask for a passcode. I should add to this, that I LOVE the fact that the On/Off switch is an ACTUAL SLIDING SWITCH. Just like a classic light switch you easily know if you have your device on or off. I hated past headsets (Jawbone) that forced me to hold down a button for 3 seconds or otherwise. Plus these button style headsets always seemed to turn on in my bag and my headset would be dead when I needed it.* FeaturesIt seems to have all the typical features in a couple of buttons. Easy to reach volume button and an easy to reach call/hang up button. For things like redial you have to double tap the call button and for mute you hold down the volume button - this is pretty standard for most headsets. When you have an incoming call, a please voice comes on and says "You have an incoming call you can say answer or ignore" -- pretty easyA new feature I really liked is the Voice Recognition button. With this you press it once and give an order such as Redial, Pairing, Call information, or check battery - I love the check battery function as it will tell you how much talk time you have left.Another new feature to me is Vocalyst. This headset comes with a 1 year subscription to Vocalyst which will allow you some cool functions like having texts and emails read aloud to you. For me this is irrelevant but may be a good feature to others.* Comfort / LookThis headset is also much more comfortable then any headset I have had. I like that the ear piece does not have to go in your ear, instead they use a neat gel piece to keep if cradled with the shape of your ear. When on it is small enough that you don't look entirely stupid and I really like that the flashing blue light is not so bright that everyone is looking at you. It is also very light. I have worn it for hours at a time and I completely forget it't there.* Design & DurabilityWhile lightweight it seems well constructed. I toss it in my bag and don't worry about little pieces getting broken off. It's design is simple yet slightly techy so you can feel cool wearing it :)It may be a pricier option that some headsets but very well worth it when you need something reliable. At $99 its a better price then I paid for my last Jawbone

If you are on your phone for hundreds of hours each month, you need a BT that doesn't remind you it's there and doesn't leave your callers reminding you it's there either. Of course, having it also double as a media player would be nice....and how about automatically picking up calls when you put it on...or talk to you in a pleasant voice with battery status updates....and I need it to cancel out background noise from the factory eviron I manage to find myself in....and could it please last the whole day!!!Those are SOME of the features of the B230 UC+I don't use VOIP much...but it can take those calls too, and switch back and forth from cell and Internet device....And don't forget about plantronics warranty. They will replace it free if it fails. You must register your device on line....but it is worth it!The B230 UC+ is not cheap. But if you're looking for a BT device that's up to the task of the relentless daily grind and doesn't compromise your communications experience....look no further.

I'll start with the good stuff - Pros:- Pretty comfortable to wear.- Good range - I can use it from our bedroom on the second floor while my cell phone is downstairs in the living room. Pretty impressive.- Using this thing to hear podcasts and with Siri works well (I have an iPhone 4S).Not too many bad things, BUT...- I CANNOT USE THE HEADSET TO MAKE PHONE CALLS, which is the main purpose of what I bought this for!!! All the people I talked to said they can barely hear me. Also, on my end, every 20-30 seconds the headset makes a loud noise of statics, which prevents me from hearing 10-20% of what the other person is telling me.- Noise Reduction - I can't really say if it works. Until now I only used the headset at home and at the office, so there was really no background noise anyway. I didn't even try to use this thing in the car, since I can't even use it at home.- Packaging - package looked opened. I assumed Amazon would not sell me a refurbished headset without specifying the product as such, but now I'm not so sure, especially based on the quality of the device. I really can't tell if my unit is defective or if this model is just no good.
