I bought this item because the wires from my previous unit kept snagging me whenever I moved to far away from the desk or I got up from the chair. I wanted a better range of motion without the negative consequences of movement. Since I am not a computer geek I had my son do the installation that required more than a plug and play application. The unit seemed to charge fairly quickly and in general fit on my head fairly well except a bit tighter than I would have liked but I do have a big head, so.The sound from the unit was not quite as good as the wired unit but certainly acceptable for viewing movies, listening to most how to instructional tapes and most music were the finest sound quality was not the goal. There is a slight "hum" evident in the background when not listening to music or other sound files that seems to disappear when engaged. If you do not need to have the phones on because you are not listening to music or sound files I suggest you turn the ear phones off.It was possible for me to listen to music and other sound files in the room close to my study/office area - the bedroom. When I went into the kitchen maybe 30 feet or so from the computer area/office sound got lost fairly quickly kind of fading in and out. I did not use the ear phones for any talking purposes like chat rooms and such so I have no sense of how they work in that application. Overall, I would recommend this unit to anyone who does want more freedom of movement without much loss of good sound quality.

I purchased these after reading the reviews but never considered they would be too small to fit over my ears. In the picture they look just like the ones I was trying to replace. I tried to wear them but after 10 minutes I was so uncomfortable I had to take them off. I gave them to my grandson age 10 and he said they were too small. If you do not mind having your ears squished they may be okay, the sound is fine but not worth the discomfort for me.

These are great headphones, excellent sound quality and easy to use. I don't think the mic picks up a lot of back ground noise, and people seemed to be able to hear me just fine. I do get some feedback, but that might be because of the person on the other end using mic and speakers on their computer. The plug and play is great, the battery life is decent. The longest I have had them on for is 2.5 hours so I don't know how long they last. It comes with a charger cable which is conveniently mini usb.

Got the headset based on the reviews.Pros-Easy and straightforward install, works perfectly-great sound range, tested to at least 25ft.-Love the fact that you can control playback from your headset-Swivel mouthpiece also good-Volume is awesome, sound quality crystal clear.Cons-Took a while to figure out how to switch it off when not in use. Hold the power button down for about 2-3 secs, then release.-Another reviewer said this, and I agree. You can't wear these for long hours,they hurt the ears.-Messed up my hair whenever I used it..no biggie but hey, it's my hair!Improvements I'd like to see-A sleeker behind the ear/head design-The earpieces could surely be smaller couldn't they?I mean if Apple decided to go into making these kind of headsets,can you guess what they would look like>>

I bought this almost 2 years ago, and have loved using it. It can get a bit uncomfortable after about an hour of use, but if the game is good you don't even notice. :) The mic is great and easy to adjust. The range is decent as well. It has a bit of difficulty going through walls, but one would expect that. It holds a charge well. What would make it better would be the ability to use it while it's charging (hence the 4-star review). That can be a bit frustrating for any wireless device. The only reason I am getting a new one is that my current one, after almost 2 years of faithful service, is no longer working. It was definately a great value!

they are precisely what i was looking for. the range is not as far as 40ft but still good enough for any gamer, if you are using for work they are more than fit for purpose, but don't expect the range that their wireless phone head set offers.

After fighting the wires from my pc's headset for years, I purchased the Plantonics Wireless USB headset. It fired right up and worked fine, with ample loudness, tone, speech recognition, etc. Wish I had gone wireless with my headset long ago. Time will tell about it's durability, but it seems to be well made and the price was fair.

Just received my headset today and have been testing it out. It is an upgrade from the logitech I was using that was a year old.Like comparing apples and oranges. I am now able to go from room to room in the house listening to music or talking over google phone.The logitech would lose signal at about 15 feet.This Plantronics has worked Up to 40 feet away from computer.The build quality is excellentNice button features ,pause ,next song selection,increase/lower volume.I was in Best Buy and this headset listed for 79.00. I checked the price on Amazon and it was over 20.00 less expensive and free shipping ,you can't gowrong ,only RIGHT

I purchased this as an adjunct for Dragon naturally speaking - one of its predecessors was listed on the approved list for compatibility. I have a relatively large man-sized head and the only real problem I have with this headset is the way that it fits around my ears - or should I say the way it doesn't quite fit around my ears.Battery life is decent, charging takes quite a while, and the sound quality is fantastic. I'm able to use it not only for Dragon, but also for my voip application- I rarely use the phone on my desk anymore.As an owner of several headsets, for the money this is a fantastic bargain.

It's good for normal Skype and for watching movies !!! Don't expect extraordinary sound quality !!!It would haver been nice if they have integrated fm radio and with smartphones or game console !!!And the wireless range is good enough (40ft) .

I bought the Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset about a month and a half ago and I regret it. The battery doesn't last very long and my laptop can no longer recognize it. My laptop is a brand new ASUS G73SW-A1 and everything else I connect to the USB ports function correctly (Xbox controller, Wacom tablet, ASUS monitor, even the headset recharger).When I first used the headset, it worked fine. To date, however, I have experienced many problems including short battery life, sound switching from headphones to laptop speakers, the dongle being unrecognized in all of my laptop's USB ports (causing me to abandon the now useless headset completely and rely on my laptop mic and speakers). The wireless range is poor, and the way to turn it on and off is a little annoying as you have to hold the power button in for a couple seconds and let go instead of just being able to quickly switch it on and off.If you like horrible headsets and wasting your money, buy this product. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Got this to make Skype calls, but it has proven to be fantastic for listening to music. I'm using it on a PC with Spotify, and all the controls work whether Spotify is minimized or not. Range has been spectacular, more like 60ft+ through walls than the advertised 40ft. Sounds and microphone clarity are excellent, battery life is as advertised. I do agree with other reviewers that it would be nice if you could listen and charge at the same time, but it's not enough of a problem to make me unhappy with the product. The other thing that was great is the plug and play aspect. I had it out of the box and working in less than 1 minute. No set up at all, it just worked as soon as I plugged it in. Great product, and great price! Compare to $100 at a big box store that claims it has the best buys.Would have given five stars if it could charge while listening and if it had a skip back button instead of just a skip forward.

You plug it in via the separate little USB charger cable and it charges. Then, you plug in the USB Bluetooth dongle and the headset communicates with your computer. Pretty much does what it was advertised to do.The little charger cable could be longer though. It's only about a foot long.I suppose if Apple were designing a product like this, the charger cable might plug into the USB Bluetooth dongle, which would then sync your voice communication to iCloud where it would be linked with your iTunes account and you would be charged $9.95 a month to listen to your own voice.

I wanted a quality headset because of our primary use for skype. The sound quality is very good. The fit is comfortable but borders on restricting. Great if you are sitting and not having to be alert to other noises around you. As a mom, I found it weird I couldn't hear my kids. Maybe that's the point!It also throws me that I can't gauge the volume of my own voice very well. I really can't hear myself talk, so I don't know if I'm talking loud or not.It was easy to start walking around with them but the indicator that I was out of range (somewhat of a static noise) was hard to detect at first. Now I know what my limits are when my laptop is sitting in it's regular place.I will probably get a one ear headset in the future to avoid the "closed out" feeling.These are good quality though.

I've owned a lot of headsets for a lot of different reasons. Gaming, noise, lack of speakers, voice calls, all of it. I can use this headset for anything. It's comfortable, it has some noise cancelling, which helps drown out sound while working from home or doing schoolwork - think three year old with toys and tv - and it is easily adjustable to fit my head. The flip down mic boom is nice, and flipping up to mute took some getting used to - it's hard to trust a mute option with no indicator - but it works without a hitch so far. Being wireless is the best thing, of course, and not tethered to my pc. It's worked flawlessly with both my Macbook Pro 4.1 running Snow Leopard and my home built pc running Windows 7.Cons: I sincerely wish it could charge while in use. Not sure of the logistics behind why it cannot, there is probably a good reason. I'd be willing to compromise and use it with a long usb cord while charging, if it would mean extending it's usable hours. Although it's only run out of battery while using it once so far.

The Plantronics Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset is a great headset. I purchased it for my mom(She doesn't do well with High Tech stuff.). After a few demonstrations on what she was doing wrong to get it to work, It runs perfectly for her. Just remember which color stands for Fully Charged.

It's an excellent product with clear quality sound. It has a coverage over a good distance which covers a lrage part of the house. Alas, it is not supported over Windows 7. I tried to get a driver for Win 7 but it just does not exist.

I am a long time user and admirer of Plantronics products.This is a great product, range is adequate, signal is crystal clear.I like that it mutes the microphone when you push it up.So I give it an overall rating of excellent.Four minor improvements I believe can be made for a future version:-Possibility to use it while charging-Longer battery life (at least 3 times longer)-The use of an Audio signal when you turn it of or on so you know that it switched of/on without taking it off and looking at the LED-The use of different led colors to signal activity in the usb receiver part of the product instead of the flashing blue led which is kind of annoying after a whileA new feature would be nice:-Software that will allow you to easily change the input between the headphone and other audio outThis is something that is lacking in Windows 7 more than in this product specificalyI highly recommend this product and I find it's shortcomings are slight relative to the great quality it delivers.

Got these to replace my logitech laptop headphone/mic which I used heavily during gaming. I wanted something more comfortable (as I wear glasses, the over-the-ear style is rather bad) and wireless. This is what I bought and I don't regret the purchase.Comfort - Decently comfort. The headset adjusts and if you do it right, you barely notice they're on your head. At first they seemed tight, but with use I think they've conformed more to the shape of my head and feel much better. That could be psychological tho...Ease of Use - Pretty much plug and chug. No special drivers. Works on Windows 7 64-bit. Plays video games and the mic is recognized by and sounds great in teamspeak.Wireless Range - I was hesitant at first to get non-bluetooth headset but as I read more about it, bluetooth stuff has lots of heavy drivers/programs and the bandwidth is very limited, so this one seemed promising. It is also Plantronics which I use at work and its a trusted brand for this sort of thing.Battery Life - It's decent. The mic never stops broadcasting (its always on, no VOX option) but it does seem to last for at least 2 or 3 long winded game sessions. There isn't any warning the battery is dying though, it will just cut out all the sudden. Charges pretty quick using a computer or wall powered USB cable, but the major disadvantage is, you can't use and charge at the same time. This cost the product a star overall.Signal Consistency - Awesome. Works anywhere near the computer. Works up a floor in the kitchen or across the way in the bathroom and only ever gets dodgy if I basically put my head in the refrigerator.Controls - They work. The volume buttons change the actual Windows volume for the headset. I don't like that you have to hold the button to turn the headset on though. I have not had any need to use the media controls, but they're basically just play/pause and skip forward.Weight - About what I'd consider for this type of head phone. Does not feel overly bulky, but its also not featherlight.

I purchased this headset to use with a voice dictation program. They worked well for about 8 months, then the microphone failed.Otherwise sound quality is good. Kind of bulky to wear, but comfortable.

It is a good quality set! Comfortable, durable. BUT When you leave the room and go the other room (not more than 20 feet) you loose the signal in a brick house. You also loose signal near refrigerator. All the rest is great!

I bought this headset to use while I'm working from home so I could use it for teleconferences. The headset is extremely comfortable with padding on top of the headset and it has big ear cups to also help with noise cancellation. My few complaints about this product is that you cannot use it while it is charging, you have to simultaneously hold the connect button on the usb dongle AND the power button on the headset in order for it to sync (which doesn't always work), and worst of all is that you cannot hear yourself while you're speaking, it's a weird feeling that takes some getting used to. Overall it's not a bad headset. I've used it with google voice, skype and webex and only once in a while I've had to re-sync because the other person couldn't hear me. This headset is comparable to the wireless Logitech clearchat (which I also have).

This was the first wireless headset I've ever owned, and I bought it because I have a kitten who loves to chew.The first thing I was disappointed by was the charging systemYou cannot use the headset while you're charging it, which is frustrating if you spend several hours at a time working like I do.The next problem is the audio quality,It constantly fades in and out and is digitally distorted. Only after buying a new headset (surprisingly less expensive) did I realize that this was NOT a sacrifice you had to make with wireless headsets.The last problem was range of signal.With this headset, I could barely leave the office before it cut out, with my new headset I can go pretty much all over our 1 story house without issue.I was very very VERY disappointed in my purchase, and I wish I hadn't put up with it for as long as I had before replacing it.

Cheap is cheap. This items works for about 5 minutes then cuts out, and it is far more than just clicking a button to get it reconnected. You have to shut the headset down and disconnect the transmitter. Then it will work for a short period again. I am going to look for something else.

After comparing Logitech and this one I decided to go with the Plantronics. Pricing was better and the audio spec's was impressive. Didn't need all the different effect which the Logitech had... am not into gaming!!Work's great, sound quality is real good (It's not a Bose!!), simple to operate and the wireless range is not bad at all (approx. 30-40ft). Excellent for VOIP phone and also for listening your favorite music.One area of concern..The charging plug is a bit fragile. So be careful with this!!

These aren't the best phones I've ever used, but compared to other wireless sets in the same price range, you could do a lot worse.Setup is dead simple. Charge it up for a few hours before first use, plug in the USB dongle, wait a second for Windows to auto-detect it, and you're ready to go. No muss, no fuss. So far so good.The next thing you notice is that these phones are NOT comfortable. They're the over-the-ear type, but the ear padding is insufficient and they grip your head way too tightly unless you spend a lot of time stretching them out. Also, the padding is too small for the average adult ear to fit comfortably, meaning that unless you've got teeny tiny ears, your earlobes will be constantly pinched against your head during use. The result is that your ears will get sore after about an hour of use, and the problem is compounded if you wear glasses. With some adjustment and periodic breaks they're usable for longer sessions, but hardly ideal.Sound quality is fine. They won't blow you away with super-deep lows or ultra-crisp highs, but most non-audiophiles should be perfectly happy. I haven't had any problems with battery life; I leave them plugged in whenever they're not in use and I've never had them die on me, even after five or six hours. The mic quality is pretty terrible; it pops a lot and picks up a lot of background noise. It's usable for simple things like voice chat, but nothing beyond that.The wireless connectivity is handled by a simple USB dongle. There's no adjustable antenna or any other real way to optimize reception, so your experience is going to depend a lot on how much interference there is where you are. If you're just looking for a way to watch Hulu or use Skype from across the room without running a long cord, you'll probably be fine. If you walk into the next room, you'll probably experience occasional cutouts, especially if there are multiple walls between you and the dongle. Walking down to the mailbox is right out.This may seem like a pretty so-so review, and it is, but it's worth noting that you'd have to pay a significant premium in price to get a better wireless set. If you're planning to use a wireless headset every day for long periods, it's probably worth it to pay extra for a higher-quality set, but if you're on a budget and you'll only need to use them occasionally or for short sessions, this is a pretty smart buy for the money.

This is a great product. It took less than 2 mins for me to locate it on Amazon.comI must say; that Amazon.com has always delivered more than what they say. If it is direct from Amazon.com it always turns out to be good and a hassle free product.What they claim as part of the specs is exactly what you get!! No over valuations and no hypes. This was yet another good experience.

A great product except that after about a year it dies when the battery stops holding a charge. Whoops.And no, you cannot easily replace the battery. So you are left with a dead, useless product. It was nice while it lasted, but I won't be buying another one of these any time soon. Very disappointing. And a very poor reflection on Plantronics overall. I guess I go back to a cable solution, or find something with a battery that can be replaced. Doesn't seem like to much to ask for when paying this much for a pair of headphones.

This was purchased to be used for a work from home position that uses VOIP. The signal is nice and clear and the sound is crisp. Very easy to setup. The only issue i have with the headset is the weight of it when it is on my head. Since I am a women, my head is slightly smaller so the geadset sits lower on my ears then normal and the weight causs slight pain over time. The battery lasts close to 10 hours straight. Overall I would recommend this headset. i would give 4.5 out of 5.

I had the Freetalk Wireless Headset for a few years. Loved it. It finally died and I replaced it with the Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset. I had to return the Plantronics headset because even within a distance of 3 feet of the USB transceiver, it couldn't maintain proper signal.Pluses:+ Came very quickly+ Easy set up+ Charges quicklyMinuses:- Mediocre sound quality - sounds flat- Fit is somewhat awkward- Terrible signal - even at close rangeBottom Line:I spend several hours a day using IP Telephony for business critical calls. This headset can not be relied on for reliable quality calls. I have replaced this new headset with a Cyber Acoustics AC-850 USB Stereo Headset OEM. Though the Cyber Acoustics is a wired headset (which is limiting), the build quality is excellent, audio quality is fine, and there is a mute switch and volume switch in-line, all at a fraction of the price of the Plantronics.

There are enough well written, expansive reviews already here, so I will keep it short.I found the sound and recording quality to be excellent, the comfort was very good, wireless connectivity is actually EASY and idiot proof, they are lightweight considering their size yet seem solidly constructed. My only issues were related to Windows 7 audio settings. e.g. specifying default audio device)If you want very good sound quality from a wireless headset and you don't mind the dorky look of large headphones (just my opinion!) these are a great option. These could easily go for $100, so for less than $60, I am very happy.

Unfortunately, there are so few wireless USB headsets on the market. There are tons of BlueTooth earbuds, but if you want an actual headset there are only a few choices, and I think this is the best one.These work perfectly, and the audio quality is decent. The only drawback (as other reviewers have pointed out) is that they aren't very comfortable.If they were more comfortable, I'd give them 5 stars.

For those who are seeking the easy "plug-n-play" wireless headset and you're on Windows 7, this is not the headset for you. After receiving this item, I charged it to full like the instructions said and than tried to give it a go. However, Windows 7 does not recognize this headset. The instructions that come with it only goes as far as Windows XP, which for many products is not an issue.After hours of searching Google (to no avail...there is little or no support for this headset online) and calling their tech support, I just gave up. It was a real headache for something that is advertised as charge, plug, and use. There are far better headsets that instantly work and, low and behold, work with Windows 7.Save yourself some time and hassle, and go with a different headset.

First time I got a product which doesn't function, felt soo much frustration and thought of returning it and buying any other wireless headset. But convinced myself to give it another try by requesting a replacement and yes the chocie was good it works great for my skype calls.At home I do talk a lot on skype while doing house hold work or cooking, thus I badly needed a wireless headset to accommodate my multi-tasking while being on call. while leaving laptop in one room I am still able to move around in living room or kitchen or some other room of my house with great comfort and without any noise in signal.It's a great product I would recommend if anybody else has similar need like me.Only the headset turn off was little tricky at early state of use, now I figured out that we should turn it off while still the USB adopter connected to laptop, otherwise it will be keep blinking and finally the battery gets discharged without any use.
