I am very happy with this product, I almost bought a Logic Tech headset but after reading the reviews for both products I chose this one, and I am very happy that I did!The only thing I would want to change would be a longer battery life, eight hours is probably plenty for most people, but I spend much time on mine and I end up needing to take a break and charge it, this has interrupted a conversation or two, but considering the great deal I got on this, it is not that big a deal. I am not sure if they sell a back up battery for this unit or not, but I am pretty sure they probably have a model that has a longer battery life, I have not looked into it yet.

I could not use this product with my PC. It turns out that it is not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7, and there is no plan to make it so. Do NOT buy it if you're planning to connect it to a computer.

Wow what a set of headphones.Let me start this review by saying I rarely take these phones off. They have changed how I use my computer greatly.I use a standing desk (better for my back and posture) and having to plug in headphones causes me to remain stationary and forces me to leave my desk looking "messy" with all the wires.I use a mic everyday to record audio / video and chat, my previous set cost 250$ dollars, so I was not expecting this set to replace those (it did!).I've now used this set of headphones for well over 200 hours, and thought I'd give a nice review listing the pros and cons and recommend the heck out of these guys.The way this set of headphones works is brilliant, you plugin the usb dongle, and automagically everything just works. (you need to set the usb device as the output and input obviously).You need to plugin the headset to a small usb cable (con) to charge these guys up, the light switches from RED to off when charging is complete, but you do not need to charge them all the way.I work at home (marketing, consulting, etc) and I need a headset on most all the day. When I'm writing I tend to work in silence (live in an apartment and dont wish to "blast" my music), but now with these phones, life is so much easier.I turn on itunes, choose shuffle and just do my thing. When I need a break I can just laydown, maybe do some light yoga, go downstairs and fix a protein shake or whatever, all while listening to my music.The range of these phones are pretty impressive (I can walk all around my apartment and only experience a few issues (which resolve themselves when stationary).One last thing I MUST brag about before I get to the pros and cons.The headphones offer the ability to skip to the next song, pause, and turn the volume up and down all within the headset (by pushing the buttons on the left ear) this is ingenious and makes life SOO much better.I have a set of wireless headphones for my TV and the audio button is on the right side, and the problem is if you laydown or accidentally brush it the volume goes WAY up almost killing you!So by having the ability to just tap the audio up or down one, man, that's just too good.PROS:Playback control on headphones (next, pause, up, down (con would be no previous).Fast charge time (I charge the phones twice a day when I workout or leave).Audio Quality (high quality, love them, nice bass)Mic Quality (high quality here too, not the best, but good enough)Comfort (not big phones (usually bad) but in this case they work.Cons:Small USB charging cable.No Previous on the headphones.Bottom Line?Buy it and buy it NOW!

Seems like a nice headset and voice is great. but1-They provided a 1 feet cable to charge it from your laptop.2-You can not use while it is charging. Which is very annoying.3-From time to time the voice is not clear "sounds like a robot"Still1-Nice voice.2-Good range at least it worked for me from 30 feet.3-Cool feature to mute with turning up the micriophone (next to your ear)

i think i've gone through at least 4 different wireless headsets. one-ear, blue tooth, you name it... this is the best on the market, period.i bought my first wireless headset from getting annoyed w/ my wired one, they were too tight on my head and hurt my ears.i bought my second wireless headset but the headrest was around the back of my head so the weight of them hurt my ears.i bought my third headset - apparently brand new on the market - didn't work with Windows Vista OS.. wtf!?i bought my forth headset and it was a single ear piece like the blue-tooth for your cell phone - noise was horrible and the configuration was difficult (15yrs IT xp).i bought my fifth headset and laid an egg. I was about to give up but these plantronics headphones have great noise, rest comfortably on my melon, LONG battery life, SHORT charge time.. dare i list them all?bottom line - i've tried them all and now i have 3 of these headsets. works great for skype calls (since i'm deployed) and hot/ptt mic vent (World of Warcraft - pve & pvp)they do NOT charge while in use (and visa versa). but with a 5 min charge will last you like 30 min of talk time - I KNOW! i was surprised myself.. but that's what i got and i definitely got my money's worth!!

I find connecting the headset to my iMac is hit or miss. That may be due to some applications not recognizing the device. I have two major issues with the headset:1. I have static problems and there's no really clear way to turn the headset on and off to try to clear it. Hold the power button and a blue light starts blinking. Is that doing something? Beats me. Hold it again and it appears that the device turns off. Perfect. Turn it back on. More static.2. Battery life is not great. I receive maybe a day's worth of use (probably 2 hours of calls)For my next headset I'd forego wireless and go with something that's wired to my computer.

I like these. They are comfy to wear, and the sound quality on calls is excellent. However, if you are in the living room and a Skype call comes in, you have to race to the computer to answer the call. If you wander around while on a call, you have to run back into the room with the computer to hang up. Yes, you can adjust the volume and mute the mic from the headset, but shouldn't you also be able to pick-up and hang-up from a wireless headset?

This item was all it was advertised to be and worked right out of the box. My only complaint is that it fits the head a bit tightly. In some instances that is good, but if you are carrying on a long discussion, one's ears become a bit cauliflowered! Over all, the unit is great and I am happy with it.

i love this! if i'm listening to music and get a call, the music goes into the background. i can still hear it but it's not loud and my caller is unable to hear it at all! the call quality and mic quality are excellent!the only downside is what others have already mentioned...it can't be used while charging and you can't see the controls when it's on your head. other than those two itty-bitty things this is an excellent product and not nearly as expensive as some others.

Did my research on wireless headsets have now ordered every single wireless headset provided to current date and this one by far is this best of all, on the low end of price when compared to all others, with price ranging from 30$ - 300$ USD i remember reading some revieves of the plastic on the headset breaking, but i have not had that problem on it, have had it over a year now and still doing completetly great, range is decent, however only thing i see where they could improve on is the use while charging ability, possibly being able to use the product while its charging aswell, if they do fix that , then to provide a longer charging cord.. its a great buy over all and like is aid before of all the wireless headsets out there, it is the overall best, clear sound, and long lasting battery....

I had the headset less than 6 months and the on/off switch failed. I should have checked the warranty but I opened it up and saw the on/off contact on the board had broken off. I unsuccessfully tried to solder it. The component looked cheap. I have used Plantronics for years and everyone I work with uses them. Another review complained about a) no use while charging, and b) the timer mechanism associated with the on/off button and suggested waiting for Plantronics second generation wireless. I concur and went back to a wired Plantronics headset.

Initial delivery the package was missing the usb transmitter and charger cable. Amazon took prompt care and sent the replacement fast. I love the control and ease of use. Main shortcoming are the short battery life and long charge time. Range is about two rooms away in my house.It's a good value for the price.

When I received this headset as a gift, I was extremely happy, hoping for the best. I unboxed the headset and read the manual a little, only to find out that you cannot use the headset while it is charging (so if it dies, you better not need to call anyone). Anyway, that was only a minor issue.I plugged the headset in and listened to music, sounded great. The wireless range was fairly large too. The second I called someone I was told immediately that my microphone stunk and that there was an annoying, low buzzing noise coming from my end. I contact Plantronics support and was basically told that I was crazy and that it had to be wireless interference. So then I shut off my wireless router and anything wireless within 100 feet of me, and it still had the issue. So then I figured it was a bad unit, I contacted Amazon (who is awesome) and they overnighted me a new one with a free return label for the old one. Perfect, so I thought. The new one is only marginally better, making the same noises for whoever is listening to me. I will I could return the thing but since it was a gift I really can't (especially since I have no receipt).The moral of this story, don't buy any expensive Plantronics headsets. Their support was rude and unhelpful. They also wanted me to pay for Shipping if I had returned it through them! I have been happy with Plantronics in the past, but this headset is not worth the $60 they are asking, $25 maybe, but not $60. I will likely put in a closet and buy a wireless headset from another brand or a wired one even, anything over this.

Why buy a wireless headset when it doesn't work half the time? You wouldn't buy a laptop that didn't work when the battery was charging, would you?I've had this headset for quite some time now, and I'm very familiar with it. Unfortunately, I'm also familiar with two shortcomings which render it basically useless.* The battery life is extremely short. A full charge lasts 4-6 hours. I can listen to music while working, or I can use it for a long evening gaming session, but I can't do both. Its charge just doesn't last long enough.* The headset does not work while charging. That is, once one expends the headset's painfully short charge, no sound comes out of the headset until it is charged up sufficiently and has been disconnected from said charger. It simply does not work while plugged in.* Incidentally, and far less importantly, the controls are annoyingly clunky. You need to push and hold the volume buttons for them to do anything, which is a pretty annoying analog throwback for a digital headset.While sound quality and range on this headset are excellent, the two problems that I've described are stupid and self-obviating design flaws. It's pointless to own this. Get something that runs on AAs instead.

I am using a Macbook with OS 10.5.8 and Skype. I can rarely get the audio to work, especially people hearing my voice, even though the preferences are set correctly. When it does work the sound is tinny. When reviewing the return policy it requires the original packaging, which, of course, I threw away.

This headset can be a little on the heavier side then the logitech headsets can be but it is worth it for the noise cancellation, clarity of sound, consistent signal and ease of being able to walk around my house while answering the phones or call monitoring my staff. Working from home this headset allows me some serious multi-tasking! Love it!

Lacking only a few key features these headphones are pretty good for the price.Please Plantronics add a charge while in use. I know the headphones are supposed to be wireless but the battery isn't infinite so there is a chance that you will need to continue to use them once it dies.I have big ears and you know what the say about people with big ears don't you? They need big earmuffs. These ones are a tad bit too tight and after a few hours of wearing them my ears start to hurt so I have to adjust them and bring them either higher or lower to relieve the pressure points. Not a major drawback because I doubt most people wear them as long as I do during any given day.But on to the good. The range is amazing. I can wear them about 25 feet away from my pc while still keeping full input and output quality. I'd guess it was longer because I only get deadspots when there are too many walls inbetween myself and the wireless usb reciever.Sound quality is what you would expect from any Plantronics Headset. Crystal clear output and input. And I find the battery life to be about 5 hours of heavy usage (ventrilo, winamp, whatever game I might be playing at the time).

This headset is extremly uncomfortable when you put it on your head. I was a little suspusious when I saw the square earpads, but I bought it anyway because I allredy have wireless plantronics hetset for my phone (SupraPlus Wireless) which is excellent - light and extremly comfortable, you almost don't feel it on your head) So I did not read any reviews or make any research. Now I regret it. Audio 995 is a disaster. I don't understand why plantronics do not use the extremly successfull design of SupraPlus. Instead, they try to make some "improved" new model, which ends up being a disaster.

I love them. They are really good for the price. I think the sound is amazing. On the other hand, they do not have any indication of how much batery life you have. And also, you cant use them while they are being charged. Otherwise, they are really good for the price.Amazon customer service was also amazing. I got the headphone like 4-days before the day i was expecting them. I was even sent another one just in case, though i have to go through the pain of returning them. But i loved the whole experience.

We purchased this for our language program. With 3 kids in the house it is tough sometimes for the computer to identify just one voice. This seems to do the trick, and we've found that it makes online calling very pleasant. I can communicate clearly even while doing the dishes. We plugged the sending unit to the back of the computer against the wall, and we still get at least 30' of range.

Length:: 0:46 MinsPlugged it in to Windows 7, it just worked. I have a HUGE (8+ in fitted; generally it's XXXL) head, and these fit without causing a headache, something that is unusual for me with headphones. They dont seem like they would fall off of smaller heads either, but hard to say.Biggest downside is when the battery runs low, they just turn off. No beeping or other warning that I've encountered. I didnt demonstrate the mic moving up in the video; in can swivel all the way up to the headband, but will always be on your left side.

This headset is decent except for two shortcomingsFirst, it would be nice to be able to press a button on the headset to answer a call - they have volume up/down, play/pause and song skip but not the one button I would actually use.Second - and would have been a complete deal breaker if Plantronics disclosed - you CAN NOT use this headset while it is plugged in and charging. That means if you ever are running out of battery while on a call you won't be able to talk until the headset is recharged. If you get this make sure you have a backup headset...or do what I wish I did and buy from another company. Spoke with tech support and they basically said it doesn't work while charging and were very unsympathetic for the fact that I just wasted $60.

I have gone through a lot of headsets trying to find that 'right' set. I have about 5 sets in my desk drawer. A buddy of mine purchased the Plantronics headset and let me give them a try. I was sold. So I got on Amazon.com and ordered my own set. Have never regretted it for a minute. The ear pieces could be a little bigger to add a little comfort when wearing them, but the sound quality is excellent, the range is very good and the onboard controls are great. It is nice to be able to forward past a song or pause play remotely. I love this headset and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wireless set.

Bought the headset for Skype phone calls while in Mexico for a month. Ended up borrowing a friend's wired Logitech set because the Plantronics won't hold a charge. Or there's wireless interference or something. Every other phone call sounds like the person or recording is a v e r y s l o w r o b o t and very garbled. Yesterday was the return deadline, but I am out of the country for 10 more days and I had already thrown out the packaging. I guess the headset will follow in the garbage. I could never figure out how to turn them off. I would press the off button for multiple seconds and the light would flash blue. The only way I could shut them off was to plug into the charger.

the only real complaint about the headset is the battery life. it is extremely short! I can probably only get 4 hours of use out of it, if its a good day. Another down is that you cant listen to sound or talk in the mic while its charging. For $60, i think i can live with these downs.....

Disclaimer: I received this product via the Amazon Vine program. The product did not cost me anything but my review is honest and based on actual usage after almost one month. I am in no way associated with Plantronics.I have been using this headset on and off for about a month and am now comfortable reviewing it. It has its plus points and one negative...which to me brings the review to 4/5. The test bed was a MAC Pro running iTunes 8.2 (i am a member of the Apple Dev program and have been using 8.2 for a long time...even before it was a general release). The testing also involved SKYPE usage (about 3-5 hours per week).The box includes the headset, the usb dongle, and a usb to mini usb cable for charging purposes. Limited documentation etc. It is all in a blister pack.The headset is very well designed but may feel like a cheap toy to some....its just the feel but I can tell you that it is sturdy and very comfortable to wear.Sound Quality:The headphones are quite amazing for a wireless unit. The sound, whether it be the high's and or the low's, is very very accurate and it sounds like you are wearing a much more expensive headset. I own a Bose Quiet Comfort III and these are quite close...with the exception of noise canceling.The microphone folds away when you don't need it. From what I have been told by people I speak to on Skype (3-5 hours per week) it is GREAT. I have been using a Plantronics DSP-400 USB headset for a long time to speak with the same people...they seem to think this one sounds better then that...less boomy and much more crisp. Since none of them are using this headset I cannot guarantee the accuracy but I have to take their word for it since they do listen to me blabber for a long time.ITunes Control - Flawless for about 50 feet in my tests...but I have a lot of wireless junk running around me and thus I am sure the range could be higher. That being said, it should be noted that I run a dual band wireless network at home...which operates at 2.8 and 5ghz.The negative:Battery charging is horribly slow ...but it does last for about 2-3 hours in a heavy usage scenario.My overall experience with this product is GREAT.....the only reason I am reducing it by one star is the battery charging and fee. The battery I can live with but something tells me that the build quality will eventually harm the headset....i.e. they will get loose around the head etc. Time will tell and I will update my review.For now they are permanent in my home office.

From audio quality perspective this is a good product. But, for people who wear eyeglasses, this product can be painful to use. The two sides press so hard on my ears/eyeglasses that I don't like. I found a trick to alleviate my pain - fully expand the two sides such that the earpiece actually rests under your ear. You still can hear, but less pain. Otherwise, happy, although would be happier if it had an option to charge while being used.

I just ordered and received this item. At first, I loved it - the sound quality is good and would work well for what I need.However, I soon realized (during the first extended use) that none of the controls - forward, back, or stop/pause worked. The only way to stop what you are listening to is to turn the headset completely off.I contacted [...] per Amazon's instructions - but they won't honor an exchange (I wasn't looking to get my money back - just wanted to trade in the defective one for one that works). However, because I did not keep the packaging (I had to cut into it to open it - it was destroyed in the process so I tossed it - I wasn't planning to return it, so didn't think about it).I am really disappointed w/ [...] and will not ever buy from them again. Their response was to take it up with the manufacturer. I think that should be their job - not mine. I didn't send out the faulty product - they did.So... $55 wasted. :(

I've bought several headsets in the recent past and this one has ended up being king so far. I've purchased anywhere from Tritton Technologies $100+ headsets, w/ 5 speakers in each ear providing a full range of 3D sound .. etc etc. I've purchased cheap 30 Logitech Headset's that get the job done and are of decent quality. But these headphones blew me away. The sound quality being above the $100 headphones that were supposably HD sound did not sound as good as these. I've been very impressed with the deep bass and full range of sound I've come to recieve from these headphones. The only complaints I have is that the sound cuts out frequently although the reciever is right underneath my desk which i think is due to the metal frame that the desk is made on. However, I am able to move around away from the desk into another room and still hear whatever Im listening to, it's just when my head is above the desk and the metal supports are between the headset and the reciever. Another thing i dont like is the short USB cord used to charge the headset. I dont have a close outlet to my chair so plugging it in can be a pain. Another drawback would be that there is a lack of "low battery" warnings. It just cuts out when it dies, there is no beep of any kind letting you know the battery is low. if there is, i havent heard it yet. Other than the 3 drawbacks which are caused from it being a wireless headset, not a wired headset. I suppose a bluetooth wireless headset will be the next type of wireless headset i buy.

I bought the headset as a Christmas gift for my 70 years old Dad. It was aimed to be used mainly with Skype. He is using it for 3 weeks and is very happy with the usability and performance. It was really easy to connect and use. Skype recognice it without configurations. The charging process was a little bit confusing because it was not clear when it was fully charged. The switching on/off of the device is confusing and it is not easy to understand how to switch off the headset.

If you don't stand in a good area then the voices coming through and going out of the head set sounds robotic! Don't like the on & off button on the side or the sound controls on the side. The charge cord is to short! They head set is too big for smaller people.

This is by far the best headset (wired or wireless) I have ever had. To date this is the fifth headset I have used. I have purchased 2 wired and 2 bluetooth headsets in the past. I use it extensively for Dragon. I use it extensively in my office. I have absolutely no complaints. The wireless USB works great with Dragon. There's no loss of quality with the speech recognition software. I no longer am getting tangled up in the wires. The fit is great, comfortable and light enough to wear for hours at the time. I have used it for 4 hours at a time and there's still battery life remaining. The battery life is fantastic. You recharge it with the USB connection.The controls are on the left earpiece. The on/off power button is on the back of the left earpiece. Volume controls are at the top and bottom, fast forward and pause are on the front and back of the left earpiece. They are very easy to access. The other thing that I like is that there is no foam covering over the microphone that was forever falling off the wired headset. You really don't need extensive instructions to use this headset. It is easy and intuitive to use.The sound quality is excellent. Excellent bass. I'm able to listen to music from my laptop while I dictate. The range is fantastic. It is able to transmit passing through 2 walls. The great thing is that when I lose reception by walking too far away it will reconnect automatically when I come back into range, unlike bluetooth which is cumbersome to reconnect. At home with the laptop in the living room, I was able to walk down to the basement and all the while there was no loss of reception. I actually was able to walk from my living room through the kitchen and into the bathroom before the signal started to weaken. Unless Plantronics comes out with a better wireless headset, I will stay with this one. I liked this headset so much that I purchased a second one to use at home.The only thing that I worry about is that I might lose the USB transmitter. Without a doubt I rate this headset 5 stars

I ordered headphones through buy.com. after 8 months they stopped working. I contacted Buy.com to inform them the product they sold me no longer works. The response was sorry nothing we can do. They do not respond to emails or phone calls to inquire about customer service and quality. Nothing

Works great! Only issue is whoever designed this should have made it for both right and left ears. The mic sits on my left and I hate it because I am right handed it feels weird. Other than that it works great.

Excellent headset for the price. I originally purchased these for playing World of Warcraft, and for this purpose they exceeded my needs. Wireless range is probably about... 30-40 feet. Maybe more but i can't seem to find my measuring tape. There really is only one downside, which is that you can't use it while it's charging. This was very inconvenient on multiple occasions, for example raiding in WoW. If my headset died in the middle of a raid I had to let it charge in between moments of necessary use.Overall though a great headset for the Amazon.com price!

The headset is a little heavy but it has good sound quality. Battery life is not great, about 6-7 hours and you are not supposed to use it while it is plugged in and charging. Otherwise, a good purchase as the range in which you can walk away from your desk is good.

PROS:1) good wireless option2) good range around 30ft3) good battery life around 5hrs in gaming4) good mic with easy on/off switch5) volume, play/pause, and fastfwd option on headset6) good sound for most applications7) no software to install. easy plug n play with usb dongle8) able to control volume on certain keyboardsCONS:1) can't use speakers and headset at the same time (either one must be turned on or off)2) included usb charging cord is too shortNEUTRAL:1) after about an hour, ears started feeling uncomfortable2) too much treble not enough bassthis headset is a very good wireless option and can be turned off when not in use by pressing the power button for 2 seconds which turns red and turn it back on by pressing the power button for 1 second which turns blue. i'm using my own usb cord because the included one is too short. charge the headset whenever not in use. charge takes anywhere from 1 hr to 4 hrs depending on the level of charge. whenever headset is not in use, turn off headset and pull out the usb dongle otherwise speakers won't work. also, stick-in usb dongle and turn on headset BEFORE any applications are open otherwise headset won't work. inorder to use the mic, simply pull the mic to mouth level and to turn it off, pull the mic all the way up (you'll know by a clicking sound). i am very happy with this wireless headset and recommended it highly but make sure you take 'em off every hour or so to rest your ears from hurting.

Plantronics Wireless Headset - Model: Audio 995This product developed what seems to be a short in the mic connection of the headset, causing loud outgoing static sounds to be heard by the party on the other side of a video call. Tapping the mic will temporarily eliminate the static sounds, but for only a short time, and then static sounds return. This seems to be a product defect, since this headset has been used very carefully and has not been dropped or damaged in any way. Noise canceling of ambient room noise is not good with this product, however overall sound quality is very good....... at least when it isn't generating loud static sounds to the other party. Has anyone else had this same mic failure? Is there a fix for this, short of a replacement of the product, which is out of warranty at this time?

Sound quality and comfort is good, but when I was listening to music I noticed the audio was skipping. I switched to wired headphones and no skipping, sound was fine. I was only a few feet away from the USB wireless adapter and looks like headphones were losing the signal. Not good. I'm returning these headphones for ones that work.

I do like this headset but I use it to create information products like video tutorials and when I record the audio there is like static/crackling/popping noise every now and then. I only use the headset with Skype/Internet calling and the quality is good except when I record it. I had Amazon send me a replacement unit in case I got hold of a bad one but the second headset has the same issue. It's not horrible but it it audible in the recording. If I'm just on Skype the audio is excellent without problems and I do like the wireless feature so I did keep it. I just don't use it to record videos or Skype calls. As others have noted not being able to use it while it charges is also a negative.

9 months of light use; then the battery gave out. That's not enough longevity to suit me. Otherwise, I was satisfied with the product.

I think for the price I got it. It was a good purchased seen in store going for $100.00 + I got it for $58. Works great. But you have to play consistenly with the manage audio divice in windows and set it for what you want as "Default device". Either you want to chat on line or hear music. You have to play with it and Follow the instructions.

I have tried several wireless headsets for speech recognition (Dragon) with limited success, especially the bluetooth models under $100. This is a reasonably priced alternative which works very nicely, consistently scoring 18 or better on quality in the Dragon set up. My only issues are (1) the microphone can only be used on the left ear and (2 and more significant) the battery recharge time is fairly high, and the batteries are not designed to be user replaceable.

This headset was easy to set up, and has great sound. I've not used it for over 5 hours at a time, so I'm not sure how long the battery lasts beyond that. I've recommended it to my colleagues.

I have the recent macbook pro i7,and the headset would not work properlyIt would launch itunes but would not play on the headset.Decided to switch to my pc and worked just fine.But for pc only headsets,you can find cheaper ones that performs with better sound.
