This was purchased to be used for a work from home position that uses VOIP. The signal is nice and clear and the sound is crisp. Very easy to setup. The only issue i have with the headset is the weight of it when it is on my head. Since I am a women, my head is slightly smaller so the geadset sits lower on my ears then normal and the weight causs slight pain over time. The battery lasts close to 10 hours straight. Overall I would recommend this headset. i would give 4.5 out of 5.

Buyer beware I purchased the planotronics 995 head set and the wireless adapter broke the do not sell it separately You would to buy the whole set. When it did work the quality is excellent

I had the Freetalk Wireless Headset for a few years. Loved it. It finally died and I replaced it with the Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset. I had to return the Plantronics headset because even within a distance of 3 feet of the USB transceiver, it couldn't maintain proper signal.Pluses:+ Came very quickly+ Easy set up+ Charges quicklyMinuses:- Mediocre sound quality - sounds flat- Fit is somewhat awkward- Terrible signal - even at close rangeBottom Line:I spend several hours a day using IP Telephony for business critical calls. This headset can not be relied on for reliable quality calls. I have replaced this new headset with a Cyber Acoustics AC-850 USB Stereo Headset OEM. Though the Cyber Acoustics is a wired headset (which is limiting), the build quality is excellent, audio quality is fine, and there is a mute switch and volume switch in-line, all at a fraction of the price of the Plantronics.

The sound quality is awesome! I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged in the USB thingie and blam.... instant smooth stereo sound. They blocked out the other sounds in the room too. I love them.

There are enough well written, expansive reviews already here, so I will keep it short.I found the sound and recording quality to be excellent, the comfort was very good, wireless connectivity is actually EASY and idiot proof, they are lightweight considering their size yet seem solidly constructed. My only issues were related to Windows 7 audio settings. e.g. specifying default audio device)If you want very good sound quality from a wireless headset and you don't mind the dorky look of large headphones (just my opinion!) these are a great option. These could easily go for $100, so for less than $60, I am very happy.

Unfortunately, there are so few wireless USB headsets on the market. There are tons of BlueTooth earbuds, but if you want an actual headset there are only a few choices, and I think this is the best one.These work perfectly, and the audio quality is decent. The only drawback (as other reviewers have pointed out) is that they aren't very comfortable.If they were more comfortable, I'd give them 5 stars.

For those who are seeking the easy "plug-n-play" wireless headset and you're on Windows 7, this is not the headset for you. After receiving this item, I charged it to full like the instructions said and than tried to give it a go. However, Windows 7 does not recognize this headset. The instructions that come with it only goes as far as Windows XP, which for many products is not an issue.After hours of searching Google (to no avail...there is little or no support for this headset online) and calling their tech support, I just gave up. It was a real headache for something that is advertised as charge, plug, and use. There are far better headsets that instantly work and, low and behold, work with Windows 7.Save yourself some time and hassle, and go with a different headset.

First time I got a product which doesn't function, felt soo much frustration and thought of returning it and buying any other wireless headset. But convinced myself to give it another try by requesting a replacement and yes the chocie was good it works great for my skype calls.At home I do talk a lot on skype while doing house hold work or cooking, thus I badly needed a wireless headset to accommodate my multi-tasking while being on call. while leaving laptop in one room I am still able to move around in living room or kitchen or some other room of my house with great comfort and without any noise in signal.It's a great product I would recommend if anybody else has similar need like me.Only the headset turn off was little tricky at early state of use, now I figured out that we should turn it off while still the USB adopter connected to laptop, otherwise it will be keep blinking and finally the battery gets discharged without any use.

Nice lightweight product. Headset is fully adjustable, which I like as it finally means my son has a snugly fitting set too in stead of struggling with "adult" version.Sound is decent on it, as is the mic quality. I have been told that I sound no worse than I did on the ?40 headset I had from logitech prior to this.If you are a Skype user, you may find upon first use you cannot be heard by other person. I would like to assure you after 30 minutes of delving into the unknown on my computer, this is NOTHING to do with the headset. You need to turn all mice and sound properties, both on PC and in Skype to full and untick "Auto adjust".Great little head set for the money. Needs to be treated delicately upon wearing and removing. I do fully intend to replace the headset I had prior to this one, but for an occasional user/spare pair, I could not recommend it highly enough!

It could have been a great headset. It is not too heavy; it fits comfortable; it has convenient controls; the sound quality is very good; microphone is great; wireless range is pretty adequate...But, unfortunately, several design flaws turned this potentially great device into an almost unusual piece of junk. Here are the problems:- This is a wireless device, and, therefore, it has to be charged from time to time. However, though the device charges from USB, you cannot use the headphones while they are charging. And charging from empty to full takes several hours!...- ... And you will have to guess when it is time to charge it! There is no battery level indicator. So the only way to play it safe is to charge the thing every minute you are not using it ...- ... Or it will die without any warning. Seriously, I expected it at least to beep when the battery gets dangerously low. But no, the headset just silently died in the middle of a conversation.There are some other small annoyances. For example, the USB plug blinks constantly when the headphones are turned off, and shines a steady bright blue light when the phones are on. In other words, there is no way to remove the light, and sometimes this gets really irritating.The USB plug does not attach to the phones, so you have to carry it separately - and risk losing it.In general: don't buy it.

I want to like these phones so much, but when ITunes locks up EVERY TIME I TRY TO USE THEM WITH IT, there is no way I can keep them. Not sure of the reasons; I use Windows 7 64 bit just for reference. The headphones will play internet radio decently. There is still some crashing and restarting, however.(Note that others here say they work fine with Win7 64 bit.) Also note that the Plantronics website does not say compatible with Win7 (in fact, doesn't say much about them at all, leaving us to try them with little guidance other than these reviews).And, headphone range is terrible...maybe it's my home, not sure. I walk 15 feet into my kitchen from my office and they begin to fade out. Maybe bluetooth just isn't something for me. Not sure.So, as much as I want to keep them, back they go. I have tried everything I can try for the last 3 days, and Itunes always locks up and the range remains lousy. Think I'll try the Logitech wireless and see if they are any better.

Today is my 73rd birthday. I no longer have the good use of my hands and so Dragon NaturallySpeaking became my hands and Plantronics.Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset became my voice and my ears. The sound is so terrific that sometimes I have to remove it from my ears to make sure that I'm not hearing the sound through my computer speakers instead of my headset. I can walk through the house and keep talking and typing. I can listen to my wonderful piano CDs on my computer all over the house using my Wireless Plantronics headset. I was in love with Dragon NaturallySpeaking because it allowed me to do so many wonderful things with my loved ones - e-mails, Facebook, blog, but now I'm double in love because Plantronics headset has created the sound that makes me feel like I'm with my family and friends. Who says a really senior citizen can't learn electronics! It's easy with Amazon's help to find all I need to keep LIVING instead of just living.

I decided to go wireless after the mic on my wired Plantronics headset finally broke (after years of daily use flipping it back and forward, back and forward...). I thought less than $60 was an amazing deal for a high quality wireless headset. The only two drawbacks, as I see it are:1. It requires a USB transmitter/receiver dongle (i.e. it isn't Bluetooth)2. It hurts my ears after wearing it for 2+ hours straight.Other than that, I can't complain. I use Skype as my office phone for a full day of work, and the battery always lasts me a full day. I should note, that in a full day, I spend 1-2 hours on the phone, and anywhere from 2-4hours listening to music while I work.

The sound quality is excellent - that's the good.The earpieces are large and do get cumbersome after a while. You have to remove the headset to check when you turn it off and there is a slight delay which takes a bit of getting used to. Also, it tends to slide on my head if I tilt my head forwards. That's the bad.The range just sucks! I have a small apartment and I can't get 15' away without losing signal. I have made sure the USB connector is clear and unobstructed, but to no avail. This makes the wireless part of the headset a real drawback. Mostly I have gone back to using my Logitech wired set. That is the ugly!PS It requires a USB port for charging when you are not using it. I have it plugged into my old Mac Mini so that's not a big deal for me, but if your USB ports are at a premium, it might be a problem.

This is a great wireless headset, but beware of a couple flaws that I think could be fixed. 1) While the battery life is good (around 5 hours or so), there is no warning beeps or lights to let you know when it is low on juice. You can be on a call and it will just go dead. 2) If it does die, you can't just plug it into a USB port and resume the conversation because you can't use it while it's charging. Better have a back-up wired set, if you want to make phone calls.My friend has the same set and wishes that it was foam earpieces instead of the "cover your ear" type that it is. He says that he can't tell how loud he's talking, but I don't find that to be much of a problem. The sound quality is amazing, the range is great (just don't walk around a corner into another room), and they are very comfortable.For $60 bucks, this is a winner for sure. Just keep it charged!UPDATE: I've now owned this for 18 months. The battery only holds a charge for maybe an hour and is not replaceable, so I came back to Amazon to see what's better now. I don't really see anything better in this price-range at all.I just use it for Skype (which I LOVE having as a phone-line instead of paying Verizon +/- $70 a month!!)PROS:1) Once you go wireless headset, you won't ever go back. Being able to type, send emails or files, walk around and pick up, do dishes etc. is sooo freeing!2) The clarity of calls is amazing.3) I find the headset to be very comfortable. Others have said that it gets a little warm after an hour or so, which may be true...but it's probably time to hang up on your sister talking about her "relationship issues" by that point anyway...just sayin':DCONS:1) I still find it annoying that you don't get a "warning beep" or something when your headset is about to run out of juice.2) Not being able to just plug it in to the USB and keep talking with a cord longer than 18 inches is something I would have thought a company as good as Plantronics would have fixed by now.3) The range is really about 30 feet. It doesn't like walls or microwaves very much at all.BOTTOM LINE:I've logged THOUSANDS of hours on this headset. It's been awesome! While the battery may be fading and have less life left in it...it's definitely the same with its owner.I bought this big dog a couple years ago for about $60, and it looks like I'm gonna buy the puppy for about the same...I'm sure I'll be happy again. Hope this helps!

PRO's: wireless and I can walk around with it while talking to people on VoiP. Has a volume adjustment knob on the left earpiece. Has an on/off feature to conserve on battery power. Pretty good battery lifeCONS: There's something odd with the sound. Every once in a while, it will squeak while listening to music or any intense audio.Other thoughts: When you aren't using it, remember to turn it off so the sound doesn't die on you.

Been using these for over 6 months now. Luckily I don't use them for long periods of time as they hurt my ears after a while (though they are very well padded - I think it is the squeezing of my ears that gets me). They are easy to hear even in noisy situations because they cover my ears very well. I haven't had issues with battery life as I don't use them for long periods. I do wish they had a battery life indicator, though. That is a major drawback of these. You won't know when you are close to needing to recharge them. For this reason it sure would be nice if you could use them while they were charging, but you can't. Wireless range is quite good ... my computer is located in the basement of a 3-story home. I get coverage through the middle of the house on all 3 floors but have several places where I lose the connection. Connection is lost when near the kitchen microwave when it is in use. It does what I need it to do.

After researching a couple of different headsets (Clearchat, everyman), I went with this one based on all the positive reviews.Call Quality:I use this to make Skype calls on it and I must say the call quality is top notch. I can hear the caller crystal clear and everyone I talk to says they don't even know I'm on a headset. If you want to use this for Skype calls this is a must own headset.Audio (Music):I haven't used it for listening to music yet so you'll have to read other reviews for that.Comfort:The headset is adjustable and fit very well. It's comfortable to wear but I think if I was wearning this for a couple of hours it would hurt my ears. It very comfortable for the time I'm on it, usually 15-30min, I just think that after a couple of hours I would start to feel the pressure on my ears from wearing it for so long. Overall this is a very confortable headsetRange:Excellent. I use it in the 20-25ft range and through a wall and there is no distortion what so everSetup:Couldn't be easier. I use it between 2 computers, one with Windows 7 and the other Windows XP. Both were able to auto load the drivers and in worked within 1 min. When you plug the USB reciever to your USB port it automatically sets your audio setting to send the sound to the headset. You just have to remember to unplug the USB receiver when your done to get the sound to play from your speakers again. This product works right out of the box with no hassle. Quick and easy for the non techies out there.Battery Life:I use this almost everyday and charge it everyday out of habit so I don't know how many hours it will last. Then one time that did drain the battery was after a few days of use without charging so I don't think battery life is an issue. But I did notice that when the battery goes, it completely cuts you off. No warning, your conversation/music will just end. So it's best to plug it back into charge after each use so you won't run into that problem. Also like other reviews here, you can't use it while charging, I deducted a star for that otherwise I would have rated it 5/5.Overall I would highly recomend this to anyone looking for a wireless headset for Skype calls. Easy setup, comfortable, great range, high quality audio and mic.

These headphones are pretty decent for the price, audio quality is about 9.8/10.Pros wireless and rechargeable great audio quality similar to .audio 455. Mobility allows me to do a ton, like listen for computer ques and while getting something to eat or do something else.Cons you must recharge after about 5-8 hours (from my numbers of hours counting) and you can't use them while they are charging. (What?) and after a while they pinch my ears just like the .audio 455. I have hope though that one day someone will submit a hack or firmware update to fix this charging problem.For about $50 they're worth the strange charging hassle/issues.

Received the wireless headset for Christmas. I have had a lot of wire ones this would be my first wireless set. Put them on my head to adjust and they broke in two places. And now one side is dead. This has never happened to me before as I have had numerous wireless (USB) ones before. Just poor quality of material.

If you have wifi forget buying these. They interfer with the wifi signal therefore they're totally useless. If you have a hardline to the internet I'm guessing they'll be okay.
