I like this headset. I use it for talking on the phone through my laptop, I use it to listen to music it works great. The only problem I have had with it is sometimes I will get an annoying digital gable sound even when I am setting in front of my laptop. Otherwise I love the freedom to move around.

I bought these about 2 months ago, and wish I would have returned them before it was too late, but now I'm stuck with them.I did a lot of browsing around looking at reviews on wireless headsets before I made this purchase. I saw many references to the ear pieces not being large enough, but I thought my head & ears were small enough for it not to be a problem. I was wrong.These things just downright hurt my ears after 30+ minutes of wearing. This is killer for me since I bought them for the purpose of conference calls which all last at least 30 minutes.Other than being uncomfortable they have been great. I've had no battery problems (I'm good at keeping them charged). Call clarity is great, range is fine, I can walk around my first floor with no real problems. I love being able to just take the usb dongle and plug it in to different pc's and have the wireless headset.Really wish they fit my head. I may sell and try logitech version :(

I have been using this headset for a few weeks for phone conferences and I love the quality of the sound. However, these are painful on the ears after wearing them just 2 hours.

They're wireless and that's what I wanted. The sound is much better than the static I get on the channel I use with my Sennheiser wireless headphones. I did think there would be a greater range of distance tho. Still, it's great to make VOI phone calls with a good headset. Better than having to yell or make land-line calls with a phone that can't be hands free.

I have had these headphones for 3 or so months and I am fed up with them. The headset will not connect to the USB connector about 75% of the time without having to restart your computer or manually connect the devices. It is not a problem of range because they never go more than 5 feet away from each other. I will even trying placing them side by side while connecting, and they still will not connect. You just get a high pitched sound coming out of the headphones. I have even had times when they were working and then somehow disconnect in the middle of listening to something. Too much trouble for the money, buy another brand.

I use my headset 6-10 hours daily, and this headset can not be used while connected to the charger! How pathetic for a wireless headset! The instructions even say this!As a result, I am unable to appreciate any features that the headset may or may not possess, as I am returning it for a refund.

I liked most everything about this headset except:- The fit is snug (good) but gets tight on my ears after a few minutes. You can adjust it for size of your head but the 'clamp strength' is pretty strong (maybe because the headset is a bit heavy and they don't want it falling off).- It took awhile to figure out why I could heard sound (CDs playing, etc) but it would play Skype calls through my speakers instead. A check of the Plantronics Q&A on their site determined I needed to specifically set the device Skype would use. I have not had to do that with any other app to make it work, so that was not the obvious solution. But once I knew where to look, it was simple enough to fix.- This is a smaller issue but I was a bit disappointed in the range. I find I must stay within about 15' and there can't be a wall or door in between, so it apparently must be a line-of-sight requirement.

nice high quality and durable great for games music Skype with these you can hear the stuff that you dint normally hear with other headphones and speakers and they have a great ergonomic design i couldn't even tell they're on half the time

I bought this to use with my laptop and didn't want to be tied to any wires.First of all, the headset did exceed my expectations; it is light and comfortable and sits in place on my head (can't speak for other heads though). While the audio is no high-quality, it did match the quality of other computer headsets. I was impressed by the range and quality over the wireless, especially considering the amount of 2.4GHz devices I have around such as cordless phones, Wi-fi and bluetooth headsets. The quality from the mic is great, and works well with speech recognition software.The bad? Well for one, you cannot use it while charging, so you have to do without it while it is being charged. No replaceable battery, which, for the life of me, I cannot understand; Plantronics should be doing there part to reduce trash and not sell more headsets. The USB dongle is a bit fat; it is slim enough so that it does not affect another port directly above, but it affects the port at the side such as in the case of my laptop.In all, I would say that the headset is a good buy if you are looking for a wireless equivalent of something to listen to music. If you are looking for something for voice recognition software only (such as Dragon Naturally Speaking), you might want to look at bluetooth headsets if you have a compatible system (DNS standard does not allow the use of bluetooth headsets).

These work very well. Most reviewers are on Windows systems. I am on an Ubuntu Linux system, so Linux users will be happy with this headset.These work great all around, but have two complaints. First, they are not comfortable if you are wearing for a long time. I use them for long Google talk calls and then music while working, so the wear time is long. Also, I wear glasses, so the pressure on the frames is increased. The second complaint is that there is no voice feedback through the headset. Most people do not realise this, but as you talk on a phone, there is a light playback of your voice through the earpiece. This surprised me. All my other Plantronics devices perform this way and work very very well. This one does not, and can actually be distracting...Despite the two negatives, I believe this is a very easy to use and good quality headset for the price.

I use the headset for about 1 week. For two or three times.After this I wasn't able to pair them with the usb connector anymore.I couldn't find any help on their website. I'm not able to return the headset because I'm not in US anymore.Very disappointed.Later Edit 19.10.2012:After putting a lot of effort in contacting Customer support, I got a new item (surprisingly, was shipped to Finland (i live there) with no shipping cost from my side).

I've never really written a negative review on Amazon, so I'll try to be careful.First the positives:1. The price was great, although there doesn't seem a lot out there to compete with. One other vendor in this relative price range and then it jumps up to about triple the price.2. The audio quality for playback was very good. Sounded great.Next the undetermined:1. Battery2. SignalDidn't have this long enough to really test either of these things. I mostly need this in my office, so range not a big issue, but when I did leave the room it started to fade fairly quickly. On par with other bluetooth devices I have.Now the negatives:1. The earpieces are a bit uncomfortable, as other folks have noted, but I was prepared for that.but the biggie, and the reason I returned these is....2. Sound quality for the microphone was horrible. Everyone I spoke to said it sounded like I was on a speaker phone (the glass half full) or at the bottom of a cave (half empty). Since my main use for this headset was to be voice conversations with co-workers and customers, it just would not fly.Unfortunately I'm stuck now with a corded (also Plantronics. DSP 400) model that works great. Voice quality is really good. The cord drives me INSANE, though.I'm hoping to find an alternative some day.

I bought the Plantronics .Audio 995 to use with my laptop and a Cisco Softphone. I spend many hours a day in conference calls and thought that a full headset might be a nice way to go. I should say that a telephone headset is a rather tried and true technology and as a result, my expectations are that a new device be at least as good as what I can have with a plain 'ol Plantronics single-ear wireless headset. I am considering replacing a Plantronics CS-55 Dect 6.0 Digital Wireless Office Headset and a land line with this device.I have several complaints about the .Audio 9551) While I do not have big ears, after wearing it for just a little while, it hurts my ears. The padding does not completely cover my ears. They get mashed and after a while it is painful.2) Sounds the microphone picks up are not played in the ear speakers. I am used to feedback from the mic in the ear. Given that the headset is soundproof, what this means is that you can't hear how loudly you are speaking, and since I am a multi-tasker, I can't hear my keyboard clicking but everyone else on the call can. Other ambient noises in my room are transmitted to everyone but me.3) The battery just dies without warning.4) You can't charge it while using it if it dies, you need a plan-B right away.5) The battery does not last all day. Even if I set it on my desk, it will burn down battery without being used.6) The range is not very far. My office is a 20 paces from the coffee pot and I can't get there without going off the air.

they're pretty nice. It's got pretty good sound quality both on the speakers and the mic, but I'm no audiophile-- if you can only listen to FLAC, you might think very differently. But, for one of the first mainstream wireless headsets, they're REALLY nice. Audio works up to about 30-40 feet with little hinderance, but walls have a serious affect on the signal, so don't try to go into another room and expect to have a great signal strength.Speaking of signal strength, every once in a while it will cut out. Not for very long, maybe for one second, but it is some what irritating while gaming: "Ok, here's what you need to do, just-- .... -- Ok, you got that, right?" It doesn't happen always, but with Murphy's Law and all that...Setup was ridiculously easy: Plug in receiver, hit connect, use headset. And trust me, that's pretty nice.The headphone structure is nice, but I wish the ear pieces were just a tad bit bigger, but you get used to it pretty quickly, and they're pretty comfortable.But all of these points aside, it's a great headset! ... Except for one thing that has been absolutely bugging me the entire time: The battery life. The thing only charges through a USB -> Mini USB port, so unless your computer is on, it's not charging, meaning that instead of turning your computer on to do some gaming before class starts, you're going to be sitting there waiting for your headset to charge. And if you think you'll just use them while they're charging... yeah, no, can't do that. You can only use them when they're completely unplugged. However, if you get an AC -> USB adapter, it will charge perfectly fine using that. This way, you can just plug it in overnight.My thoughts: If you can't stand wires and absolutely positively need a wireless headset NOW, you could do worse. If you can deal with it, wait a generation or so.

I got this product when it was on special at Amazon.com for $52 shipped because I hated to have a wireless headphones but had to be at my computer when I use PC calls and chat. the other headsets seemed flimsy.I had heard good things about this plantronics headset, so when I saw it was on special I jumped on it right away.Shipping was fast! It came in the regular Amazon box I promptly opened the package and everything was ok, I read the instructions but find it lacking, not much instructions to read, but afterall they are only headphones!I charged the headset and noticed the first thing that could improve, I notice that you cannot use them while charging and the charging cord is too short at around 1 ft, I would suggest making a 4ft cable that could be plugged in while in use so you don't end up with a dead headset in the middle of a conversation. But apparently Planttronics has this covered with a long runtime. I hope that is the case!I also noticed that there is no way to replace the battery yourself, that means that you would have to send them in for battery replacement or get another headphone when the battery eventually dies, hope it is not soon.Using the headphones is easy, just hook up the usb dongle and turn them on, and it's done! Easy! It installed flawlessly on my Vista 32 PC, some reviews say that it does not work with Vista 64, I can't confirm or deny it.I would have liked the headphones to have some audible tone when they turn on or off like the Seinheisser wireless headphones do.The persons I talk to say that the microphone is very good! They hear me loud and clear with no apparent noise, guess I will believe them!The sound is very good, unless you have a very sophisticated ear you will be happy with them, I know I am! I would rate the sounds in a scale of 0-10 being 10 the best.Bass = 8Mid = 9Trebble = 9They do not beat Senheisser Sony or Acoustic research wireless headphones, but they are good!I would have liked them to have a bigger ear pad like the before mentioned brands but they are comfortable to wear.I like the buttons on the left headphone are easy to use but I would like them to put more tactile feel around the edges of the buttons so you can feel where one button ends and the other one begins, no big deal for me.The range is around 20 to 30 feet, but it depends on where you set the dongle, and the materials the signal must go thru to get to the headphones, but they are good to use around the house or immediate rooms without worry about the signal.I would suggest to put an audible warning tone to the headphones to let you know that you are about to loose reception because you are too far from the pc.In all I would recommend this headset to others!Thanks!AlexGT

I use this item every night both for transcribing dictated notes and with Skype. I can get up and take my dog outside and continue with my conversation .... go to the kitchen, etc. I can be almost 40' from the computer before I loose the signal. No distortion, good volume, easy volume controls on the earpiece. My only problem is that I wear glasses and after a while the headset gets a little uncomfortable at the sides of my head. If they could be made any light, or adjust just a bit smaller they would be 5 star all the way !

Great set. Arrived it time. When I walk from my basement office to 1st floor I loose signal. Would have loved to have a little more wireless range. The recharge is OK for several Hours session. I do run classes on the net for 8 to 10 hrs. This set is not good for that long sessions. The product meets its specifications.

I purchased these for my husband who is an avid gamer and streamer of Netflix. Seriously, when he is home on the weekends he is online between six and nine hours a day. The sound quality is amazing, and he thinks they are very comfortable for extended periods of time.The wireless is excellent. I wore these to trim my front yard hedges which is 25 yards from the receiver and could listen to my program without crackle or fade.My husband is involved with various gaming groups on chat servers and the the voice clarity from the microphone is amazingly clear.The only downside to these headphones (if you are considering them for use longer than 3.5 hours at a time) is the length of time they can be used before they have to be recharged- four hours of usage is the average. And, when they are recharging, it takes longer than two hours to charge back to full.I would recommend these headphones to anyone who is considering a flawless gaming or streaming experience (or hedge trimming experience, for that matter) as long as you are fine with the wait for the recharge.

Ordered this Plantronics headset. When it came, it was missing part. Contacted Amazon. They authorized the return and before I could get the package returned, I'd received the replacement. Now that's fast! The Plantronics Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset was all it was advertised to be. My wife borrowed it. Getting it back is going to be harder than just ordering another, which I will happily do.

As a gamer and an avid Skype user, comfort and usability is a huge plus with people like me. Those out there looking to find a wireless headset that's cheap and comfortable, this might be the one, but there is a major design flaw to this headset that everyone should know about.Because people like me use their headset for hours, battery life is important and this product delivers a nice 8 hour charge, 12+ hours if I go offline for a little while and charge it until I get back on. The major drawback is that once the battery goes out, the headset is dead for the time you charge it. Even with the USB cable, which is very tiny, it doesn't support voice over it, just a charge for the battery. Using other USB cables doesn't do the trick either. The USB cable is only a charging cable for it and I cannot use it while it's charging.Other than that major flaw, the design is good and I love the playback features on the headset as well. Volume controls are smooth and easy to access, although it's loud and other people can hear it when you press the button. another flaw is that the mic is very sensitive and picks up your breathing easily. I get a lot of complaints from my Skype friends about this.All in all, this product performs decently for people who use it for music here and there, but for the hardcore gamers and skype users like myself, this isn't the best product in the world.

I bought this headset to replace the one that came with Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10. I can definitely say that it exceeded my expectations. I wear it for three or four hours at a time and have experienced only a slight discomfort. I have fairly small ears, so the headset sits comfortably around my ears and does not pinch them. Also, the sound is fantastic! At this point I should mention that I'm not an audiophile. Your mileage may vary.The microphone is ridiculously sensitive. Actually it can be a bit too sensitive for my work environment. I work in an office that is open and has no cubicle walls. My coworker sits about 4 feet away from me on the other side of a desk. Occasionally Dragon will try to type what she is saying instead of what I am dictating. Yet, because the microphone is sensitive I have seen a vast improvement in Dragon NaturallySpeaking's ability to type accurately. In fact I've become more impressed with the program since I purchased this headset.The wireless range on this headset is fantastic. You are definitely not tethered to your computer.The controls on the unit are difficult to work and feel cheap.Overall, I'd say buy this headset for the microphone and for the wireless range.

Its fairly straight forward to use and does what it says it will do, which is to allow you to hear and speak without being wired to your computer.The pros are fairly obvious: its really convenient and allows mobility in your home or work space, it comes in especially handy if you have other things you need to do that move you away from your computer. I myself use it while doing the dishes or laying down on my bed.The draw backs on the other hand though not a deal breaker really do get on your nerves as time passes.While it does advertise that it fits comfortably on your head that isn't exactly the case after the first hour. After an hour or so it really starts to hurt and weight down on your ears and in some cases probably even cut into your skin draw blood I would know since this has happened to me on several occasions. So if you're only planning on using this for a few hours at a time then no problem, but if you intend to pull an all nighter with it then you might wake up with some dried blood on your ears.Next up and the largest problem I had with this is the battery life, although it was fairly long and I could use it up for about half a day the main problem was that there was no off button so leaving it plugged to the USB port virtually left it on all night which ate up the battery even though no programs are running. Lastly was the recharge cable, although it does the job its too short were talking about maybe 4 inches here. Not to mention it plugs into a USB port too so the recharge time is even longer.All in all its a good product but not what I had hoped it would be like. But for around $60 it does the job.

My son and I use these mostly for PC gaming. I finally got tired of every corded set I purchased mysteriously developing some kind of short or another in the wires, leaving only oneside with sound. Wireless freedom is great. Plug and play..just plug them in and they are recognized. They work well so far and have no complaints. I purchased the 3 year warranty for 10 bucks too...hard to beat.

This headset is very uncomfortable. I have small ears and the headphone cut across the top and began to hurt very quickly. I cannot imagine that this would be different for any other user. Even if everything else was perfect, the extreme discomfort would render them unusable. However, the battery life is short, the charging time is very long (the indicator was still on after all night) and the signal cut out if I just went around a corner 6 feet away. Needless to say, I returned them. I am so thankful that Amazon made the return easy.

After reading some of the reviews I was excited when the box arrived. Set up was extremely easy. I made two calls and both said I sounded as if I were in an echo chamber with scratching going on. Also, I didn't find them comfortable. Just sent them back.

I really hate being tethered to my computer but honestly, the two wireless units I've tried just didn't cut it. This Plantronics has terrible battery life and cut out at times when even when the battery was charged. The computer also had trouble letting me set the speakers as the main playback device while having the headset the main comm device. I sent the unit back.

I received this about a week ago. When I got it I discovered it is amazingly simple to hook up. So simple I thought I was missing something. I thought that there would be a CD to tell the computer I have a new headset but it found out on its own--amazing thing. You simply plug in the USB receiver into an empty USB port. You have to have another USB port for the charging cable, which is only about 20" long. I use my headset mainly for my Rosetta Stone language program, I find it totally satisfactory for that purpose. When I have to "leave the room" I go to HULU and put on a song, the reception is amazing.My only problem with it is the short charging cord, but I've already gotten used to it.If I have any problems with it, I'll let you know.If you are short of USB ports, get the adapter that Amazon has for additional cost, I didn't get it, but it looks like a good idea for some.

An on/off button should actually turn a device on and off with a touch of the button. The designers have combined other functions into the power button, so you actually have to hold the power button down for 2 seconds then release to get it to shut down.This is probably a standard for wireless comm devices, but I had no idea. The instructions did not even hint at it. The website's trouble shooting section doesn't mention it either. I used their email help-desk service and got two replies. The first reply, "Return the headset." The second arrived about an hour later, "Press and hold for two seconds to turn it off. Any other length of time will do nothing useful."So, I give this device a 3 over-all because it is poorly documented and seemingly (in my humble opinion) poorly designed. An on/off switch that doesn't actually turn the device off unless you know the magic incantation?!? It is an on/off button! How can they mess that up?

These work great, this is the second pair I bought, why if you loose the usb transmitter well you cannot buy a replacement. The new head set usb transmitter works with original purchased head set. So now I have a backup charged head set, I guess that is a positive but shame on plantronics not to sell the usb transmitter as a spare part. I searched for days for it too & found a google search some where they do not sell it.

What I liked about it:- I plugged in the USB dongle into my Windows7 64 bit laptop and 10 seconds later skype asked me wheather I want to use the newly found device; honestly I was prepared for battle .. and there was none .. :-)- I can walk around the house and still listen to music.- I don't have to sit in front of my computer to talk to friends via Skype- Range is pretty good about 10m in line of sight, somewhat less if house walls start getting into the way- Sound is great! This headset works with music equally well as my regular wired headset.- Microphone works as well as one would expect from a Plantronics noise cancelling technology- The ability to pause music when a someone comes over to talk to meWhat I think this headset could improve on:- QA: I bought it from [...] via Amazon and .. it arrived broken. The microphone hinge is plastic so it's no surprise .. not sure if this will be a problem in the future .. we'll see- The foams on the headphones seem pretty hard at first .. but after a while with the headset on my head i simply forget it's there- The controls (volume/next track/pause skip) could use some additional hints as I initially confused other protruding features on the side for the them- On of switch - the person who designed it should be condemned to 100 years of switching the headset on and off .. brr ... biggest problem is lack of audible confirmation to tell you that the headset is on and off ...Overall - I am already unhappy about the upcoming period of separation necessary to get it exchanged for one that is not broken .. :-)

The Plantronics Audio 995H wireless USB headphones with microphone work very well. The sound quality and microphone are excellent. The build quality is very good. The wireless range was good.The foam earcups should be larger or exchangeable for a larger size for use by an adult. The earcup on my Bose headphones are oval shaped with 2.5 inches on the major axis while the Plantronic earcups are a rounded rectangle ~1.75 inch on the longer axis, the widths are about the same at 1.5 inch The volume control should be a wheel rather than a push button to make it easier to adjust the volume. The headphones should be usable while charging, although I did not find this a problem as the charge on the battery was sufficient for my use. The on-off switch could be larger.

This is a really odd review in the fact that I only got to use them 15 minutes before they stopped working, which is what prompted me to write this review. First off let me give you the Pros:Pros:Plugged in the Blue tooth device, and instant communications.All my applications recognized it instantly, no extra setups needed (including skype)Range was much better than I expected, I could even go out side with no problem, my estimate before break up was about 80 feet, which was by the mail box on the street.Comfort - very comfortable, I was looking forward to my long conference calls on Skype with these babies.Sound quality - While not as dynamic as other reviews commented, they were ok, but considering being able to walk around the house and even outside...Pretty darn good.Amazon Customer Service - Awesome.Now before I get into the Cons, let me justify my Cons, and I only have two of them. I initially plugged them to charge them up for 2 hours, the manual (if you can call it that) indicated 2-4 hours for a full charge. Since it had been 2 hours I figured I would test them out, which is why I listed my Pros above. Once my testing was completed, I decided to plug the head set back in and charge them for another 2 hours. Once I plugged them in, the LED on the side went out. I thought uh oh. And tried to turn them on. Nothing. tried everything I could think of to get them back on...Nothing. I called the Plantronics tech support number, thinking that there was a "hidden" reset button. But there isn't. They had me do some simple tests and determined that they head set was bad. After 15 minutes. GRRRR. So that is my first Con., breakage after 15 minutes. Con number two: The Plantronics tech support said: Mail them to us (money out of my pocket for a product that lasted 15 minutes), and once they get them, they will send me out a new set, which I will get in 2 or 3 weeks! Huh? I told them what they can do with their return/exchange policy, and promptly called Amazon, which dispatched a new set (Priority shipping)and sent along a return shipping label for the broken one. Now I haven't got the new set yet, all this happened yesterday (Nov. 6th, 2009) so I can't tell you how I feel about the new set. However,I would recommend this product, because when it did work, I was really quite impressed with it and look forward to using it on my Skype conference calls.

This works well in Skype on Linux. The previous Skype beta would crash sometimes when going between this wireless headset and my normal headphones + USB microphone. The latest Skype beta for Linux works better because it hasn't crashed when switching devices.Under Sound Devices, it should show up in the list as plantronics wireless. Use the same device for all three settings (mic, ringing and output).As others have stated, the battery isn't replaceable which is why I took a star off the rating. I find the range acceptable and the battery life is fine for me.

I bought these to use with Google Phone. The people that I call and talk one on one to say the sound reception is very clear. When I call into conference lines (multiple users) I have been told that they produce some noise that the other people can hear but I can't.

It started out flawless and then the dongle failed (and there are many, many posts online about this). Plantronics staff are rude and they have no way of replacing the junk dongle. So, my advice: DON'T BUY IT. Sooner or later, it will stop working and it will be past your return-window.

I have two primary uses for this device. 1. Gaming. The device works very well here and I have used it for marathon sessions. I have had it last 6-8 hrs at a stretch without recharging. Then even brief charges, keep it going a lot longer. I would say for gaming is excellent. Sound quality is quite good. It does start to get a little uncomfortable on the ears after an hr or two though.2. I also use this device for my electronic medical record with Dragon 10 Medical. The mic. is outstanding and in fact this mic. works better with Dragon 10 Medical (speech recognition) then my $450 Dictaphone mic. at my office. Simply outstanding for this purpose, given the price.Only negative I have seen is doesn't work while charging. Given how long the charge lasts, it hardly ,matters.

Got this head set about a week ago. I had read all the other reviews that I could find. There are 2 negative things that I read that I was just not sure if they would effect me so I made the purchase.1. Others said that they could not tell if it was on or not due to no audio feedback when turning it on or off. At first I felt that was true but I would just keep the head set turned on when I was working and that would take care of that issue. in practice I found that I would take the head set off a lot and I was leaving them turned on though. But then the first time I missed a call I started to turn them on and off. This caused me to put the head set on while off and then turn them on to use. This proved hard at first since as stated by the other reviews there is no feedback. But after a few days and some adjusting of the volume, i found that I could tell when it turned on or off. There is a sound. it is a high pitched "beep" when it transitions from on to off and also from off to on. I at first did not even note it but then I did. Not sure if everyone would hear it. I have pretty good hearing. This is is a non issue for me. If you are a visual person, and you plug in the Dongle where you can see it, you can see it being on as well. The light goes solid when it is on and blinks when it is off or searching for the head set.2. People also said that the ear muffs were too small. This I have to agree with. They could stand to be a little bigger. They are however comfortable to wear. The cushion on the top seems to give them good support so it does not feel like you have a vice on you head.Other things I think should be said about this head set:1. Great quality. Well constructed.2. The controls on the head set are simple and easy to use after a few minutes of initial testing.3. Nothing to install. I move from PC to PC a lot in my work. I used it on 4 different PCs(win XP,Vista, Win2k3 and even a win7 beta) in the first week and none of them needed anything installed.4. The muting boom is nice. You just have to remember to pull it down when you need to talk. it is nice in an online meeting if you want to get up and move around or even talk to someone else while still keeping your ears on the meeting. You don't have to get back to the PC to turn off the mute.5. Battery life seems consistent with the claims. About 8 full hours of talk time. I did not test it with music on all the time. I suspect that would reduce the time significantly.6. Good Mic! This is the best headset mic I have ever had.7. This is a big one. I would recommend it to a friend or college.

I'll make this short and sweet. This was the perfect headset for Skype. I work from home and use Skype as my office number (I have the subscription + phone number). I used a generic USB headset that was included in some software I bought sometime ago. My coworkers had this directive: Either figure out a way to make Skype clearer OR use your cell phone all the time. I bought this pair of headsets and the quality is much better. It's comfortable and easy to set up. The only issue: I believe Plantronics advertises a range of 40 feet. It's more like 15 feet or under in a real apartment setting with walls and doors. Not exactly cordless phone range, but it'll work at most of my situations. Works great with music sites like Pandora too.

This device fills a gap in my communication needs for hands-free computer operation during long calls. I do technical support calls over the internet and this allows me to hear with excellent sound quality as well as connect wirelessly for the occasional need to step away from the computer. The range allows me to move around without perceptible loss in call quality.

Was easy to hook up and get going...didnt have to configure anything. Shipping was fast as always with Amazon. I use it with yahoo, msn messenger, skype, games, watching movies, and phone calls. I can hear clearly with all of them. I use majicjack for my phone and it works fine with it. The main thing though, I fall asleep every night with it on, on my bed...I twist and turn. I lay on my stomach and this headset gets pushed off to one side while the other is still bent to my ear. I bought this headset one year ago this month and its still working fine even though it gets twisted and stretched around at night. I normally went through headsets about every six months. The wires on them would get bent and eventually probably break or just short out because of how rough I was with them. This one still works fine. The hard plastic around the headband is flexible enough to work with. I know thats not what its for but it works for me lol. I dont use up the whole charge all the time before I plug it back in to recharge. Its still working 8 hours for me before I do have to recharge. Takes about 2 hours to recharge fully. Its plugged in upstairs and sometimes I walk around downstairs with it. It works directly under the room that its plugged into. It goes out the further away I get but when I walk back into the zone it comes right back on. For me, this headset has done better than any others.

Here is my tip for you guys. Please buy the wireless. Sound quality is perfect with no lag or distortion. I still feel its wired. As for the google calls, Perfect! the other side compliments on how my voice is loud and clear. For the past 5 days i have been using it heavily with business negotiating via google voice. I can hear them loud and clear. I had given up on using google voice or skype or internet chatting before. Until i found this 995, I love using it hands free and moving around the house when i needed too for convenience. I love this thing! Trust me when i say this and buy the wireless. Its worth it. You don't have to take off your headset heading to the bathroom or get a cup of coffee or get stuff away from the table or help around the house while I am in a middle of negotiating on a call hands free or dancing while listening to a music. Think about it. Once you go wireless u ain't coming back to wired. Battery last a good long time too so no worries

This headset is very painful to wear. It makes my ears hurt and gives me headaches after just a short time of wearing it. The sound is alright. You can't use it while it's charging.

Pros:Works. Simple. Easy. Sounds good.I just plugged in the dongle, and when I start up Vent and Skype it just... works. Automatically. No installing, configuring, selecting a new device, or anything. That's just... weird. I'm not used to stuff that works. The most clueless and computer-illiterate person you know -- and think of the VERY WORST one (you know who I'm talking about) -- would be able to use this headset with no difficulty.Cons:Uncomfortable with glasses. I wear glasses. Pushes my ear against the glasses frame and makes my ear pinch. With sufficient fiddling and pushing and prodding I can get used to this.My kitchen is just one room away, through an open doorway. But once line-of-sight is broken, the transmission ends. Just one wall, and maybe 15 feet away, the signal is lost. So I can't listen to music while doing dishes.Charging cord is too short. My tower is under my desk, and I can't find a good place to put the headphones while they charge where my toddler can't get them. One of the reasons I wanted a cordless headset is that my kids tend to wander away with them, pulling on the cord and damaging things. A longer cord and I could keep it on my desk, in relative safety. I can buy a longer cord because it's a standard USB connection, but I would have preferred a longer one from the start.Can't listen while charging. Again, the cord is so short I wouldn't be able to out-of-the-box anyway. This can be an issue after a long evening of gaming, when the charge runs out just as the game is getting interesting. Suddenly I can't communicate with my teammates. (I'm not complaining about the charge time - 4 hours should be long enough for almost anyone, and it is as advertised.)I listed all the cons, even the ones that are functionally minor annoyances, but keep in mind that I still think the headset is worth 4 stars. But if any of the annoyances are dealbreakers for someone, they deserve to know about them ahead of time.

The sound quality is very good, the wireless range too, but if the battery runs out while in use, you will need to find a replacement, because you cannot use it while it's been charged.One more thing, there's no beep or anything like it to let you know that the batteries are running low ... so there you are talking on Skype and then out of nowhere you're out of batteries and, if this is your only headset, out of a headset to talk too.My recommendation: go buy a Logitech or a Freetalk.
