For a. Little more than 20 you get crystal clear microphone, decently pleasant audio, and fairly comfy earpads. What more could you ask for? Cheap b****** approved

This product is probably not the best gaming headset for hardcore folks. That said, it gets the job done comfortably and works just fine with Mumble in SW:TORm which is a brand new game. It does not support Win7, yet it runs fine in Win7 for me. I have a USB port on my monitor, so cord length might be an issue for others. For the price, though, you could buy an extension and still come out ahead versus more hardcore gaming options.

3 years ago, I bought one of these, and it is still working today. It has taken a tone of abuse, and is still in perfect working order. The sound quality is pretty good, it is comfortable, though not as comfortable as a high end headset, and the price is definitely a bargain. This is a quality product, and I would recommend it based on its durability alone.

I purchased one of these about six or seven years ago at an electronics store and i still have the same one but I also work from home and wanted to use the same headset without swapping them from one computer to another so i purchased a total of five (just in case i need backups) and have no complaints with this headset. Works great for gaming and for VOIP as well. I totaly love this headset

I purchased a refurbished pair through Amazon for a total cost of less than $10. The headset arrived in like new condition I'm very pleased with the quality of the transcription (using this headset with Dragon naturally speaking). The only negative about this headset for me is that they are not comfortable on my ears (cause some sweating) after 10 min. or so and I have to reposition them.

great head set. adjustable mic to fit everyone. ear phones are very comfortable and adjustable. would def. recommend to a friend to buy.. better than turtle beaches!!

I am housebound and this headset has been great when I've gotten outbound telemarketing gigs. It has great clarity and fits like a glove without completely making me cut off to whats going on around me. I use it mostly with Google Voice to do my work and I don't get any complaints about surrounding noise or not being understood. Good buy for the price.

On my gaming desktop the sound is great, clear, the bass is awesome, and the mic is too. On the other hand, when I use it with my old thinkpad the sound is very staticy and unpleasant. But Since I use it mainly for gaming I give it for starts, just really good

Durability: I've had these for about 4 years now and they haven't broken yet! 10/10Comfort: After a couple hours these things hurt my head because of the lack of head cushion. 6/10Earphone quality: Great quality and has a good base. 9/10Microphone quality: Great for the price! 9/10Design: Nice and simple. 9/10Overall I give this headset a 9/10 because it's a solid headset for a good price.

The Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headset I like a lot as a nice headset that is not overly expensive to replace if damaged. The foam around the ears is nice and blocks out some background noise (such as the wife) while gaming. It will feel somewhat "heavy" to anybody not used to large headsets/speakers.Two design flaws I have noticed through usage:Minor: The volume up/down controls on the wire are mounted about a foot too close to the headset. What seems to happen is that it feel weird to hang off you and if you try to set it on the desk, if you lean back slightly, it'll fall off the desk. Not a big deal, but would have preferred it to be just slightly further from the headset in cable distance.Major?: This is my second Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000, the first one lasted over a year of fairly heavy usage. The reason the first one was replaced is that the microphone on the headset swivels up and down. Over a period of time, what happens is that the wire inside the swivel arm becomes frayed and will eventually start to cut in and out as you're talking (your talking will, but you'll hear others fine). I tore my first one apart after it became apparent that it was dead entirely at one point and a replacement was on order. The frayed wire is what I noticed and the wire length inside the swivel arm is pretty short and would be slightly annoying trying to soldier it back together. The unit is fairly inexpensive to replace, so that's what I did.To be honest, if this one dies after the same duration of the first, I'll probably buy a third. Overall it's a pretty solid price/performance headset.

I don't think that I bought these headphones off of Amazon but I have them, and they are great! The bass is awesome and isn't muddy either. Everything else is ok, but for your money this headset is sooooo worth it. It is hard to set up on windows 7 though, probably because I didn't use the software that came with it. I originally bought them for Rosetta Stone but I stopped doing Rosetta Stone and they are good for other music until my Bose QC 15 headphones come in the mail. This is a great headset

this product only works on ms messenger or windows live messenger, what a rip off, really losing faith in ms products, there should ba a statement "this product only works on ms messenger or windows live messenger."

This headset originally worked very nicely for me on my Mac laptop: showed up as a USB audio interface without any separate drivers, audio quality was good, fit was comfortable enough to wear for extended conference calls. After about two months, however, the headphones crackled and stopped working. (The microphone still works, but without listenable audio, the utility of the set is pretty much shot.) I'm sadly looking into return options.

Hi,I onw a dell 990 wind 7 prof. 64-bits at the office. I read that microphones are not able to work with 64bits windows 7, so ordered these headphones.My order came on 21-18th was the estimated date but it was weekend. I just used them in skype. They are ok. They are really tight though and not for wearing them for long time-i can tell that i don't have a big head at all... However the communication was really good eventhough i was speaking quitely!so, not bad actually..andrian

I give this a four star only because it hurts the ears after about 30 minutes use. I know, everyones head is designed differently but otherwise it works as stated and I can hear others well and they me so I'm happy with my choice.

Microsoft's headset is easy USB plug and play. The sound is above average for music and certianly top of the line for chat applications. I use it mostly for Skype and like the full cover of both ears to take away the noise distractions in the house. Note that this headset operates via a usb port and not the headset/mic ports...

The sound quality (input and output) are good, and the headphones cancel background noise well. However, the cord tangles and coils severely, and uncoiling it risks breaking the rubber and the cable (indeed my first one of these products broke in less than 3 months because I had to keep uncoiling the python.It works via a USB connection (often in short supply - as opposed to the headphone/mic line in that only use the mic/headphone), and if the USB connection gets disrupted you generally will have to restart any application that was running in order to get sound (this problem occurs across multiple PCs operating windows vista or windows 7).Finally, it's a LifeChat headphone, which means that LifeChat (or whatever the Microsoft chatting service is called) will want to be installed or used so much so that if you do not install it a reminder will open up from time to time unless you have the computer proficiency to disable the MS Lifechat service (which also disables the unusually large button on the microphone controls that is easy to accidently touch and also opens a pop up (or the Lifechat application if installed).I will say that because this is a Microsoft product it has exceptional customer service backing it. The warranty for replace/repair is, I think, 3 years.

I bought two of these for my employees for online conference calls and both have said that they are tight on their heads. One complained of her ears burning when she wears them because they are so tight and stiff. And these are two normal sized women with average (or smaller than average) sized heads. They are also not as portable as some other smaller headsets. Otherwise they seem to work fine.

I am a hardcore gamer, I use my headset for many hours everyday. This is the 3rd pair of this particular headset that I have bought. They tend to last me anywhere from 8-12 months. My boyfriend bought the more expensive Plantronics headset, and his mic does not sound anything near as clear as mine, on vent or on Skype. I personally feel this headset is a great deal for someone on a budget. The only thing I don't like is it tends to fit my head kind of tight, which makes it uncomfortable for long periods of time, but since I normally slide one of the ear pieces off to the side anyway, it doesn't bother me as much as it may bother someone who keeps both ears on at all times. All in all this is a good deal for the price.

I like this headset but the being hearing impaired I need something with high volume though the volume on this is good it is not quite as high as I would like it.
