The package came rather quickly-- I received it on the third day. It was packaged in hard plastic like most things-- a knife and minor elbow grease got it open fairly easily. The headset itself is wonderful. The feedback portion is absolutely fantastic, especially for listening to music. The recording aspect of the headset is also very good-- great at cancelling background noise. I did have to turn up the sensitivity, but that might've just been my computer.As for the fit, it's just a bit tight, but the cups don't hurt my ears or irritate my earring. They fit perfectly around my ears as well.

Best $20 i ever spent! I am extremely picky when it comes to sound equipment, but Im also not so shallow that I would think that a good pair of head phones has to be $100. Or have a popular brand name either. This headset delivers excellent bass some of the best Ive ever heard. It also delivers clear mids and treble. If your not sure what headset to buy TRUST ME this is the one. I am most impressed I am actually gonna order 2 more so my family can enjoy these headphones as much as I have. :)

For the price, this is a good headset with mic. I mainly use it for Skype.A very annoying problem is that the mic on/off is a button, rather than a switch. This means you can inadvertently turn it off when you bump on the in-line controller while moving around, although it has a red LED to indicate the off state. This happens more often than I like, so be forewarned if you plan to use the mic a lot.

oh my gawd,.....it's a USB set that just automatically runs first 3 seconds after plugging it in.i have had so many normal plug-in sets that i have had to fight with. many just weren't that good. many just went poof after a short while. i can only say WOW. already impressed. i am so used-to having to go to the sound settings to reconfigure everything and most times just did not work worth a damm. i am so happy with this USB set. i wish i had bought it long ago. and it is the match for my webcam. i highly recommend this set to everyone, if you are looking for something that works, and works well. and a last note, the headphones has it's own sound level, mic on/off, and a light for when you're talking, device attached in-line.

I had read some negative reviews on this headset (bad cord, remote control heavy, etc) and haven't found any of this true. For the price the sound quality is excellent and people on Skype say they hear me as if I was in the same city when I'm actually 6000 miles away. This works so much better than my in ear bluetooth headset. Fairly comfortable for extended periods of time.

I have been using it for about a week, chatting with my family over Skype, Yahoo and MSN. It is a Microsoft product and you can install the software which will Windows Life Messenger when you press the "Call" button on the remote, which is attached to the cable. I like that, but I would like it more when I could choose what program I want to use, or I press "call" and a list with the communication software opens and I pick the one I want. It would be perfect then.I was using Yahoo messenger video call and during the call I plugged in the headset and I couldn't use it. I found out I can only use it before I make the call, I am not sure if this was one time bug or maybe my yahoo settings were wrong. I will try to find that out.Quality and noise reduction are great. It feels great and is of good quality.

I don't have really large head or anything but found these to be un-wearable for long periods of time, with or without my glasses on. I tried them for a week but sent back for something more comfortable

My hat size is 7 3/8. Large, but normally large, yet this headset was so tight, it gave me a headache within minutes of using it.The sound was great, the mic was great, the ear foam was comfortable...it was just way too tight.

i use the school computers every and i can tell you they have the world's worst headset i use it for tow menits and my ears hert but then they got the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset it was the best, so i but it for me and it was the best you can save so mach for so good i loved it.

You can spend more than this on 3 gallons of gas where I live. These are great headphones, and mic. I do wish they were louder but I paid $12 so I didn't expect anything better. Comfy too.

This headset has decent, although not the greatest sound. The thing I HATE about them is the cord gets horribly twisted. I have to fix the cable every day and as time passes this gets worse. The cable is so twisted now I can no loner fix it. It's as if there's a wire running through it. I use the headset for many hours a day. My ears get extremely sore. There's no way to adjust the width. I would not recommend this product.

So I first looked at this headset for gaming, as I destroyed my other pair on accident. For the price, this was the best one I really found. I was very, very surprised at the sound clarity, and especially the Bass the headset could put out. Here's my Pro's and consPros:-Very good sound quality-The microphone seems to cancel background noise well-The headset fits well, looks good, and is for the most part, conformable-It pushes out a large frequency of Bass, at least compared to my other headphones in the past.-Very very good deal for the priceCons:-After prolonged use, it tends to hurt my ears a bit if I didn't have it set right-It's a bit awkward to talk into at times, as I can't hear my voice that much, but after applying some feedback, it's fine.

I have used this headset for a year now and it is still working fine. It has been abused many times over by me throwing it down on the floor repeatedly due to PVP frustration playing WOW. The sound quality is good as can be expected for the price as described in many of the other reviews. The pads are soft and do not hurt my head. Most of the time I have one cocked up over my ear anyway.Over all I have to say for the money this headset is worth every penny.

Bought for my gamer son who picked these out at a computer store. Amazon had them for half the store's price. He loves them. They look quite comfortable and I may end up with a pair for myself. Have not had any issues with them falling apart or not working.

I bought these headphones for the full price of $44 dollars, and letme tell you, they were not worth the price. Although the overall quality of the mic and sound are okay, the comfortableness of these headphones is just awful. Although the padding around the earpiece certainly looks very cozy, in reality, they are hard, and hurt my ears. I cannot wear these for more than 45 minutes without getting an awful headache. I'm giving them two stars becasue the mic clarity is actually pretty nice, but overall, they just are not good. I do not recommend buying them.

I can't wear these headphones for more than 30 minutes without becoming severely uncomfortable. The sound is great and the bass is really clear, though.

You get excellent recording out of the mic, however the sound quality wasn't what I expected. Great bass but little on the top end. Get better sound quality out of my Samsung phone earplugs. But would still recommend this to Gamers, great for World of Tanks!

Note that on Macs (at least on my 2011 Macbook Air running Lion), the built-in volume controls don't work (they control the built-in speakers instead of the headphone).Also note that the volume controls in the Preferences panel only have four settings, and I find the lowest setting is too loud for comfort.Finally, the ear cuffs are slightly too small for my ears (which are not unusually large).Other than that, it seems to be a nice product. Both the headphone and microphone are very sensitive (perhaps too sensitive), and it seems to be reasonably well built. I would imagine that when used on a Windows machine with the appropriate software installed, it works fine.Since Microsoft does not claim that this product works with Macs, I have no reason to complain. However, since there are other reviews which suggest that this product works just fine on Macs, I felt that I should add my experience with it.

I use this almost exclusively for phone calls using skype.I can't talk to their sound quality for music, nor for professional recording.For voice calls, its perfect. It uses USB, so it must be using more resources than a 2.5 audio plug would. However, because its usb, windows 7 recognizes it as another sound device on my computer. This gives me two sets of sound controls, and two sources of sound. All my computer sounds/music/etc come from my main speakers and the other is just for the headset. If I need to use the headset I can lower the volume or mute the volume, or if I want the other person to hear it too I can raise the volume of sound coming from my main speakers.It has a long enough cord. A cord by its nature gets in the way from time to time, but I'd rather have that than wireless headsets that have batteries/chargers and often have a buzz or get hot or give me headaches.They gets uncomfortable if I leave it on my head for more than a few hours but not so much that I can't still forget that I am wearing them, but if I notice I just take them off. Then again, pretty much any headset or earphone i've ever used that makes contact with my ears gets uncomfortable after a while so you may not have this problem.For $20 these meet and exceed my needs. After a year of using it, I bought another as backup in case the first one ever broke. I bought a few more after that to give to friends, and I recommend this to anyone that wants a good and cheap voice-call headset.

About 6 months ago I was looking for a headset that I could primarily use for gaming purposes. I came by this headset and the pricetag combined with the pretty sound reviews made it an obvious choice.I can tell you now that after six months, it is a brilliant piece of kit, and that you need not invest in any of those ridiculously overpriced "gaming" headsets.The sound quality is perfect and comes with a handy little widget attached to the wire for sound adjustment and quick microphone muting.It's almost illegally easy to use, just plug into a USB port and it works straight away, no CD or any stupid overcomplicated installation stuff to get through.Is it durable? Massively, I'm pretty clumsy and have a tendency to leave it lying in places where it can easily be stomped on etc. it has been sat on multiple times and crushed more times than I think is possible for people to perform without realizing. It's not in the slightest bit damaged and still works perfectly, same applies for longevity.As if you haven't been convinced yet, just freakin' buy it, it's the only headset you'll ever need.

This was a gift to our 14 year old son for internet gaming. The earphones hurt a little for me after a little while, but don't seem to bother him at all. At least we don't hear everyone else, but our son still yells loudly while he plays!

I expected a LOT more from this Microsoft product because of the manufacturer and because of the price of the product. You are lead to believe that this is an all in one "plug and play" headset but in all actuality after the software is installed it's obvious it's intended use was for Microsoft programs only. In order for me to use this headset for anything other than Windows Live Messenger I need to get into the control panel and individually click off the computers speakers and microphone and then turn on the headset and the headset mic. This also doesn't allow me the capability of going from the computer to the headset in mid conversation. I have lost numerous conversations trying to go from the computer to headset mid-convo or trying to set up the microphone and headset as a call is coming in. What's worse, a friend of mine bought a $10 generic version that once plugged in, is immediately recognized by the computer and sounds great. This product is not worth the money or the effort it takes to get it up and running.
