This product was a real life-saver for me. I have an ASUS laptop computer with a weird unified audio jack that smart-phone headsets do not interface with properly. I was unable to use Skype from that laptop. The only option was a USB headset. Thanks to the USB connection I am now able to use Skype. There is one issue with installation, though. The hardware will be picked up by Windows 7 automatically. But you have to go into your sound settings and configure the newly installed USB headphone as your default sound system. Documentation form Microsoft would be appreciated in the future. At any rate, once it is set up as the default sound system, the laptop speakers will automatically cut out when the device is plugged in and turn back on when the USB device is unplugged. In summary it is a lifesaver for some people but documentation for the less computer literate amongst us would be nice.

I already had purchased these previously and wanted another. They are comfortable and I am pleased with the quality of these. I use them on my computers with Dragon naturally speaking and for listening to my cd's.

THEY ARE A VERY GREAT PRODUCT TO USE ON SKYPE, SOUND & MIC. ARE GREAT CAN HEAR AND TALK WITHOUT ANY OTHER NOISE INTERFERING !! SOUND'S LIKE YOU ARE RIGHT THEIR WITH THE OTHER PRESON FACE TO FACE TALKING !! I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE THAT USES SKYPE A LOT !! :) :) JUST WISH I COULD HEAR MY MUSIC SO THAT OTHERS COULD STILL DO WHAT THEY WANTED WITHOUT HAVING TO HEAR MY MUSIC ALSO..

Okay i needed a head phone set that i could Skipe on and or talk to my son's that are all over THE STATES this is a comfortable head set, fits my huge head,and has a mike right there so as to not loose a breath of what you say..well i have to get used to that as my old head set mike had problems and one was them hearing me, It is great equipment at a great price !I would recommend this to any one for game play to making a recording.

My Logitech H390 headset gave up the ghost last week. I really liked it, and used it primarily for Skype-ing domestically computer to computer and internationally to cell phone or land line.So, I was in the market for a new headset. Logitech is the only brand I found which lists "Mac compatible". But, I read somewhere on a recent review that this LifeChat LX-3000 would actually work on the Mac OS.I bought it and can gladly report that it does, in fact, work with Mac OS 10.7.3. You can select it through the System Preferences for general use and through Skype as well. The headphones and mic work. The inline volume control and mute buttons work. The mute does not show on screen, but a red LED shows on the inline controls. However, the inline connection button (for Windows Live) does not work, and doesn't appear to be programmable to affiliate with Skype.Now that compatibility is settled, the sound quality of the headphones is much better than the Logitech as far as bass response for music. I am very impressed. I have a large gourd, and they fit my head well. The ear cups are just a bit too small for me, but not uncomfortable for someone with elephant ears, like myself.Overall, I am impressed and glad I made the switch over to this product. I'll try to update with longevity after I have used them for a reasonable period of time.

I bought this product for two reasons: the earmuff size and the fact that it connected via USB.When I received it in November, I immediately fell in love with it. Not only did it block outside noises (for example, people talking or television noise [to an extent]), it had these big earmuffs that fit well (I have medium-sized ears and their well-covered. Another feature was the small inline control. It's a hate/love thing... when I am sitting still, writing or on the internet, it doesn't get in the way and is handy when someone needs you attention.For people that say it didn't work for anything else other than Windows Live Messenger, all I can say is that for me, travelling between school and home, using both Windows 7 and an XP machines, it worked fine on both.The microphone is also great, with direct control on the inline remote (LIGHT OFF: MIC ON. LIGHT ON: MIC OFF.) It's proved wonders on Skype (although you do need to change the settings in Skype and make the microphone your default).All I can say is wonders for this headset, just don't abuse it. I kept it in my bag and someone stepped on it, cracking the right side. I was able to super-glue it together and solved the problem. Then the mic and left started to go, but a little jiggling on my part fixed that. In other words, it's okay for daily use, but I'm not sure if it's meant for those who treat electronics roughly or leave them laying around (like I did) for others to use.

I have a LifeChat purchased 3 years ago which I find very good for my purposes. I ordered this one to outfit another office. It's generally the same in all respects except that the size of the ear cups has been reduced. This is relevant for me because I wear over-the-ear hearing aids. My original pair fits quite well over my ears with the hearings aids. In this this later model, the opening size has been reduced and presses against my hearing aids for a less comfortable fit and increased feedback in the hearing aids.

I've had mine for several (>3) years now, many of those as a regular WoW player on a guild/raid team with vent. The "leather" covering on one of the ears has started to wear off. The other side is fine. Sound quality is as good as it was to start. It fits comfortably on my rather over-sized head. The speaker works just fine. When my husband's broke after a shorter period of time and was looking for a replacement he went ahead and bought this set. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive headset, I would recommend this one.

Well I now own 2 of these. Bought the original so I could use the free internet phone and listen to movies at night bothering people. My older son decided to permanently borrow it so now have purchased 2 of them. Excellent product for the price.

This is a wonderful product. They cover my entire ear comfortably. In addition, the sound quality is very nice. Just enough base. The only flaw I could see is that the cord is a bit long and you have to place if carefully out of your way.

I purchased this headset for my son to go with his new laptop. I thought that it needed to go with the spycam, but his laptop already had one. It delivers a nice clear sound range. The only problem that I had with this product is that the wrong Installation CD came in the package. I had to search for the correct driver on the internet. Otherwise, I would buy from this seller again...

I've had this headset for a few months now and must say they are AWESOME! I use it for online video/audio chatting.I even used this headset to watch a movie and they felt like they were surround sound speakers. It was awesome, I felt like I was at the movie theater.Good job by Microsoft.So far so good, I have nothing negative to say as of yet.

I have used other headsets in the past, but this one provides great sound quality for recorded videos and voice-overs at a very low cost. Highly recommended.

The usb mic worked for a short while, then got stuck on a high pitch feedback loop of some kind.Never could get the thing to work again. I looked up support online and found many people having the same issue. And no fix in sight.Just google it.

I bought this headset specifically for Skype. I plugged it in and Skype automatically picked it up. The sound quality from both sides of the conversations is amazing. And the mute button is the most convenient feature. I got a cold/flu shortly after buying it. I was able to spare the person I was talking with all the coughing I was doing it. I really like this product.

This headset is great. The only thing is, I've gone through about 4 of them. I like them so much I keep buying them. First one's fell apart after accidentally snagging the connector thus "yanking" it and severing the cord from the headset my fault :Othe next 2 sets I've ripped the headset mic from because I don't use it and gets a bit in the way, one made sound cut out and other ... can't remember lol. The earcup connects to the "headband" thingy with two little plastic notches, which allows the up and down movement of cushions on your head. There is no side to side movement, basically a hinge joint. One of the little plastic notches broke so one ear cup was loose. The current set, I sat on, and after wear and tear, dropping them, they're falling apart. Now that all being said, sounds like I'm too rough... I'm really not. You get what you pay for. These are made of plastic.After discussing the build and durability, we go to sound. The sound is excellent. It has a usb connection, don't know if that can factor into sound quality...? No fizzling or anything. Very nice and clear. Other things about these are the pleather (artificial leather-ish material) head cushions, very comfortable. There is a "dongle" (in-line volume control) very convenient. Two other buttons on this are the mute switch for the mic, and a sort of internet call button for chat or something. Like I said, I never used the mic for chatting. I played around with it and the mic is great, you can hear yourself when testing it in the volume controls.Well, I might be making this too long. I just wanted to add all the things that I have experienced with these headphones. If you want to try these going straight from say apple ipod earbuds, the sound difference will blow you away. I'm afraid I've thrown too much money towards these for them breaking. Read first paragraph for info on breakage, judge for yourself about build quality. After using these guys for about 3 years now, I'm going to switch to some more substantial headphones to see if they can last me longer, like the JVC HARX700's. Only about 10 bucks more than these.

Use these all the time for work. I love them! Blocks out a lot of noise, very comfortable to wear too! Mic is adjustable as well! Only drawback is the mute button/volume control button is exactly the same height as the lip of my desk so it gets caught a lot. Other than that I would def recommend!

I purchased both the LX-3000 and Logitech's H390 "Clearcomfort USB" headset to try them side by side. I have a biggish head and I always have comfort and fit issues with headsets. Which one fit comfortably? Neither.Earpiece: H390. The LX-3000 has a slightly larger opening, but the H390 is cushier. Sound quality is good on both.Microphone: Equivalent. The H390 has a nicer boom and look, the LX-3000 has a nice windscreen that does a good job reducing pop.In-line control: H390. Much smaller, better quality feel, better placement. The H390 also has a longer cord.Fit comfort: Neither. Both sit too tight to the head and compress the ears over time, making them uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour. The LX-3000 lacks any padding on the top, and this will also become very uncomfortable, especially if you have a shaved head. The H390 has a nice layer of padding that takes care of this issue. So I give the H390 a slight edge but no win.The H390 is a nicer headset in most ways, and also looks better than the LX-3000. My solution to the fit is to leave the headset stretched over the width of my desktop tower. This temporarily loosens the fit and makes the first hour much more comfortable.

This item more than met my expectation. For the price of this item, I expected this to be "generic" but to my surprise, it has great sound and totally block out noise. You have to turn it almost all the way down to actually hear what's going on around you. My son plays his games on his PC and with his PS3 console. He can not hear me even when I raise my voice to get his attention. The cord is about 6.5 feet long but if you are trying to move around it could be a little bit longer for comfort! When I speak into the headphones, my voice comes out clear to the people I'm speaking with. Great product for the price!

For the ~$20 that I paid for this, it's well worth every penny. My only complaint is the somewhat short cable, I had to grab a USB extention cable, but it's mostly due to my set-up... the length should be fine for most. The mic sounds great from what others have told me and the headset speakers are just fine. While it's not top shelf, it's very good for the price. I've owned these for over 6 months and had zero issues with it yet.

I don't normally buy headsets, so decided to look around. I stumbled upon these the price was right. After Receiving them and trying them out, I have to say I am very impressed. Playing a game, talking and listening to music, you can hear all the sounds perfectly. The Cord length is great and installs easily to windows computers.Recommended

I needed a headset with a USB connector. This headset is comfortable! I hear everything perfectly and others can hear me talk clearly. I have worn this headset for hours at a time and sometimes I forget that I am wearing it! My main use for this headset is for online gaming.
