I chose to get this product five stars out of five because it really works well with my Dragon 11.5 speaking software. And the sound quality in ear phones is very good. The microphone on this does a very good job of ignoring the background noise while I'm trying to use the Dragon speaking software.

This headset provides nice sound, the mic works well, and it is moderately sturdy. Really, what more do you want for $20?

I originally bought these for my husband to use at work. When he received headphones from someone else he brought these home to me and they are great! The sound quality is amazing and I love that I can control the volume from them!

As many others have written they are issues with the volume control box on the cable. It will work for a few months no matter how careful you are with them and they they fail. My mic started loosing reception after 3 months. I'd steer clear.

I order these for my wife. She wanted a headset for skype and some online courses.Easy to install, sound is loud and clear, excelent for chat and also it is confortable (at least for 1 or 2 hours sessions).The only drawback goes for the drivers configuration. I order the USB version, so it has a sound card in it, which means I had to change between my computer sound card and the headset sound card every time I change from the headset to the speakers.UPDATED August, 13th)Just to add some comments, its being almost 5 months since I bought it, as mentioned before, my wife is the one who uses it, mainly for online courses.The right earphone just stopped working this weekend. I checked the cable looking for some cut but nothing wrong, just notice that sometimes when pushing mute and another button togheter on the headset make the right side to work.So the piece is already malfunctional and probably will be dead in a few months. I'm decreasing 2 stars because this phone didn't last a year.

after trying several headsets , this one seems to be what i was looking for , noise cancellation is pretty darn good ,sound quality is awesome. Microsoft LX-3000 is a good head set & you wont be disappointed.If your a big guy with a Big head like me , Don't worry , this thing will fit your over sized melon, it will adjust to your size head , and if your a little kid with a little head & over sized internet ego it will adjust down for your melon also..... just don't expect to have a conversation with the wife and or kids little brother or sister wile you have the Microsoft LX head set on, it does a excellent job of muffling out all sound behind you. " Humm , finally figured out how to shut the wife up :O).

This is one of the headsets we use at my workplace and it's one of the popular ones. We do online tutoring for long periods of times (about 5+ hours daily) and I (as well as many coworkers) favor this as one of the more comfortable headsets. The soft leather-feel earcups fully covers my ears and does cancel some slight noise. It's good enough to let you focus on what you're hearing, as well as be able to hear your surroundings.Other thoughts:* The design is good, with it's flexible headband and microphone. I can easily flip up the microphone when I'm not using it.* The headband is plastic and can be a potential concern. However, with care, the headband will be fine. But, it's not so strong so it does have potential to break in case of an accident.* I love the volume control. It's big (not too heavy) and easy to control. It has the volume control and microphone on and off switch. If the microphone is on, a little light will turn on. Simple but nice addition.* Chord is VERY good. This is not your normal standard chord like those of earbud chords and battery chargers. The chord is thick and difficult to snap. The chord is comparable to one of the gaming headsets I own: Plantronics GameCom 367 Closed-Ear Gaming Headset.Overall, a solid headset that has decent sound clarity, a good microphone, and good for long hours of use.

This mic is fantastic for the price. For 20-30$ you get loud, crisp, clear sound and a slamming bass in your ears. The quality of voice is also very great. My friend told me that I sounded like I was in the room with him and when I did a skype test to see just how good I sounded I was blown away by how clear I really was. My only complaint about the product is the comfort. While its bearable, after wearing it for a few hours my ears start to hurt just a bit. With the mic being 30 bucks top, USB connection, Great sound, great voice collection, easy installation, and controls at your fingers through the handy mic-control piece, it should be 5 out of 5 but the comfort is what brought it down one star for me. I got this is in April and everything about it was great until about 5 months in the right speaker broke. I was still able to use it but then 3 months later the left speaker broke too. I guess ill remember to go with logitech next time.

I got these because I was tired of switching between my company-provided Lync headset for calls and my personal headphones for music, and I prefer the cover-the-entire-ear style for drowning out the noise of coworkers. These are cheap, lightweight headphones that have decent audio quality on both calls and music. For Lync calls, they support volume, but not disconnect or mute.Since newer versions are now available in the same price range that support those features, I would recommend getting one of those newer headsets for anyone in my situation.

I needed a USB headset for a family member for Google phone calls and general use, but I didn't want to spend much. I have found that Microsoft products are usually in the "better than average" category, for the price. I just love their cheap "blue track" wireless mice.I saw this USB headset and the price was right, so I ordered it. The construction is good, the sound is acceptable for phone calls and simple games, but not really too good for music and high end games. There might be a simple tweak to improve the sound, but I kind of doubt it. Doesn't matter though, because it is doing exactly as well as I want it to, the only other requirement is that it lasts a long time, so we'll see about that.I only gave it three stars because its longevity has yet to be determined; for price to quality ratio it should probably be 4 stars.*Update, January 30, 2013. Now having had this product for 10 months, I am moving it up to 5 stars based on my satisfaction with it. My original comments about sound quality stand, but the fact that it is working as good now as it was when I received it moved me to give it a better rating. It's a good value and it just works.

I bought this headset mostly for skype, but now I have been beta testing GW2 and I am not as happy with the product anymore.The sound is awesome! I can't complain there. I am usually one of the most audible on skype or in game.The fit leaves room for improvement...so to say. It's fine in the beginning, but after a couple of hours, my ears hurt a bit.My major complaint in the cord. I did not read a lot of reviews and have no idea if it's been discussed, but my cord curls and I have to stretch it out or endure a neck cramp from leaning to the side. I am now wanting a new headset because of this. Another obstacle is the remote mute/sound thingy...I almost always hit it with my arm and mute myself.All in all, decent product if you are not using it often. Long term, I recommend searching for another product.

I found that they where a bit to bulky for me and they kept sliding off, even with it being fully adjusted all the way. After a few months of usage the cables went bad and to the trash they went. Sorry, but sad. SLM

I have had this headset before and lost it. I love this headset for listening to music as well as chatting. The cord is long enough to where I can sit comfortably and I love the volume/mute/call button feature. Clear sound, and mic works great as well. The ear pieces are comfortable enough for long time wearing. I will buy this again if I ever lose this one.

Unfortunately, these were not immediately plug-and-play for me. The first 20 minutes was spent trying to figure out why sound was still coming out of my 2.1 speaker set (even after reinstalling the software and restarting PC twice). After disabling the speakers and setting the headset to default, I had sound through my headset.I noticed right away how small the ear muffs were. The design appears to be for a younger teenager rather than an adult, so keep that in mind. 2+ hours of extended play will leave ears sore unless you have baby ears. ;)As far as sound goes, crystal clear. Music and others' voice sounds good. The mic is crystal clear with no background noise thanks to the noise cancelling. This is actually one of my favorite things about this headset. I usually talk to friends in a room where a fan is very close by, and I no longer have to hear "You sound like you're in a wind tunnel!". (Thank you!) Also, USB means no more clicking OK to set mic and sound every time I plug in to my Asus desktop. (Thank you x2!)Overall, I am happy with my purchase; I just wish the earmuffs weren't so tiny. :)

Great for music, the bass comes through really well. It has better sound quality than I expected. Also works great for voice chatting but after wearing it for a while my ears start to hurt.

This headset works great. It took a little bit to figure out I needed to download software for it to work, but once I figured that out, I have been very happy with the product. The sound quality is great. I would recommend this headset.
