I've only had these speakers for a few months and they rarely turn on and will just turn off and stay off. They sounded great for the first month. DO NOT BUY.

I had these speakers for a little over a year and what can I say Logitech really put in work with this speaker system, you seriously can't be disappointed with them, their very loud,and bass is solid and powerful. I use them everyday listening to my music, watching movies, and playing games. It's THX Certified, you can't expect it to be nothing but excellent!

I recently replaced my old 5.1 surround sound with this 2.1 system. Even after reading all the great reviews on this product, I was still uncertain if it would be loud enough. This logitech z623 absolutely blew my expectations away. It has crystal clear sound and an extremely affordable price tag. The sub alone hits hard and would cost over 100 dollars anywhere else. If you like bass, this is definitely the system for you!!!

The sub woofer has heavy bad chemicals smell, the speakers had none. I could not keep it in the house. There was a sticker claiming no formaldehyde used, but what ever they did use was too toxic for me. This product can not be returned due to being "hazard". Guess that says it all

Bought this as an inexpensive space-saving solution to better sound for our new LG 47" SMART TV.It did that to some extent, but when we pushed music through them via our computers to a new Apple TV box, we were disappointed.No fault of Logitech's, as they look great, work easily right out of the box, and deliver your money's worth for an improvement over flatscreenTV sound, but not close to hi-fidelity IMHO for what i had hoped to use them for. Duh.Now we have to sacrifice $24 to mail them back to Amazon. I recommend these for either TV speakers in small well-carpeted or draped rooms or for computer gaming/music/movies.

After listening to music from my friend's Logitech Z-2300, I fell in love with Logitech. However, this new Z-623 speaker is definitely downgrade version of Z-2300. When I purchased this speaker, I was excited that this speaker will be much better after going head to head with my cousin about Logitech Z-623 (being better) Vs. Klipsch Promedia 2.1. I was sure that this speaker would surely own Klipsch Promedia 2.1 but boy! Was I wrong, dead wrong! I was highly disappointed by the sound and bass quality of this speaker. The only thing I liked much about this speaker is the design and the fact that it has power on/off switch definitely wins against Klipsch Promedia 2.1.Although, Klipsch Promedia 2.1 lacks power on/off switch, it sure makes up for being big shot on all ground and when Klipsch Promedia 2.1 was on you can't even hear Z-623. I expected a lot more from Logitech, this was a total let down by them. I cannot believe this new speakers are downgrade version of Z-2300. My $50 speaker sounds almost pretty near Z-623, so what's the point of releasing new speakers if it's not going to be better than previous version? Get it right Logitech! Otherwise this will be my last purchase from Logitech. Returning mine asap. A piece of advice, if you're going to spend $100-$150 then go for Klipsch Promedia 2.1! It will be worth the money! I'm glad I bought them from Bestbuy for $94 a week ago.EDIT 12/7/2011: If you do not believe what I'm saying on this review please try it out yourself. Test both head to head and then down rate my review as you wish. I compared both of them and Klipsch Promedia 2.1 wins big time. But, hey, it's your money, spend where you see it fit.

You don't get two speakers and a sub woofer, what you get instead is two little devices that can fill a room with crystal clear music were you can hear every detail and a bigger device that can create bass to set of earthquakes. I am very picky about my sound and who makes it. I have purchased logitech product in the past and i have never been disappointed by a single one. These don't sound like $150 they sound like they are worth at least $500. If have a $150 to spent on speakers these are the one to get, you will not be disappointed even if they aren't for the computer.

After a month of movies, music, and computer games its going strong. This 200 watt baby can cry and rumble all day and drive any neighbor insane. All for 100$ is a deal... You will not regret buying this Logitech device with THX certifications. Its legit!

I am a logitech fan for years and have many of their devices. I had these speakers for a little while and I am enjoying them a lot. I have used it with my computer, tv and ipod. The sound is clear and crisp. The bass from speakers and subwoofer is more than enough. It is definitely bumping. And the volume can get very loud but I haven't maxed it out because I am afraid of blowing out my ear drum. I reached 50% just to test it out but I keep it around 15-20% normally. For the price that I paid on amazon, I don't think there is a better speaker system available. I can't comment on durability yet but if I should have any trouble, I will update this review. I have always been happy with Logitech durability though.Comparison to the older Z-2300:Inputs? Z623 wins as it has more convenient inputs where you can even connect a computer, tv and an ipod all at once. You don't need to mess with adapters like Z-2300.Control? Z623 wins. No ugly wired pod remote to clutter your desktop. It is lot more convenient just to adjust the knobs on the right speaker.Looks? Z623 wins as it looks much more modern and sleek with the black. The ugly looking SILVER Z-2300 is an eye sore as silver went out of style in the 90s. And style does matter.Sound? Z623 wins there with a more crisp and clearer sound.Bass? Not sure. I think the Z623 sounds amazing with their bass and has plenty. The Z-2300 had an 8 inch subwoofer (120 watts) and the Z623 has an 7 inch subwoofer (130 watts). Even if the Z-2300 should have better bass, I would prefer z623's more crisp and clearer sound over a little more bass.

I have two pair of these speakers I love them so much. Fast setup and teardown for when I bring it over to friends to watch movies. Great for gaming and keeping a clutter-less entertainment station.

The build and strength of these speakers are slightly heavy and sturdy. The volume control knob doesn't turn too easily. The small speakers sound some what clear but there are certain musical instruments in a song that I'm not hearing too clearly in comparison to other speakers I've had. I like hearing music in the background while working on my family tree. I rarely use the speakers for games, or movies, so I don't have much to comment on regarding those activities. When it comes to these speakers and music, there is room for improvement. I used these speakers with RealTek onboard sound, I then tried it with a Sound Blaster Titanium sound card. The Sound Blaster Card gave it more of a Dimensional, enhanced, sound but only a hint of it.

I got a pair for my dad and one for my sister. I have a pair of the venerable Z555's, and I think the base is actually a bit tighter on these 623's. You can shake the walls. 200 watts is plenty.

This is the second set of pc speakers I've owned, the first being a crappy set of insignia's with a sub that barely qualified as such. That said, I've been toying around with these bad boys for a few hours and its handling all my musical choices really well (from filthy dubstep to hipster-ass, indie pop-punk, to acoustic stuff).For movies, I've been watching a super high quality mkv of sin city, and it sounds fantastic. I was missing out on so many things without having a good set of speakers (now I understand why people say sound might be even more important than the picture quality when it comes to movies).I haven't tested them out on gaming yet, but I'm sure they'll handle extremely well. I'm especially happy they included a/v ports, since the connection is better quality then a standard 3.5 mm connector.When I watched reviews, I thought the size and wattage of the sub would outshine the power of the satellites, but my hypothesis has proven wrong, they keep up just find.Beware: these are not portable at all. I got them as a birthday gift,and since it's spring break I'm home for college. Now that I have these speakers, I'm not all too sure I'll be able to transport them very effectively back to college

I purchased these speakers expecting decent quality, but I wasn't expecting much for 109 dollars... When I finally got these hooked up these things blew me away. Sitting at my desk with the subwoofer under it and the two L/R speakers on the desk I have it at about 3/8 volume and 1/2 bass and these things blow me away, half volume and half bass will shake your jeans. I love most music, but my favorite is heavy metal, and these things sound SOOOOO good! Halo Reach sounds great too. It has the inputs on the back for you to run the red/white cables to it from your xbox or ps3, and the inputs for PC. You can listen to your music and games at the same time as well. The speakers are very well built. These suckers are worth it.

I've had 5.1 systems and a couple other logitech systems but this THX 2.1 surprised me! The quality is just mind boggling. I didn't realize just how much better THX quality was but it's severaly noticeable in games and movies.

Trying to replace my Altec Lansing system which was discontinued (but still the best) was difficult until I tried the Logitech Z623. Well made cabinets contain tweeters and mid-range drivers that really sound GOOD! Tuning the sub to my surroundings was a little work but these things sound great for PC's, etc.

Ok, it ain't a 5.1 set but as a 2.1 for less then $100 it is amazing. The sound quality is very good especially because of the bass-level control. Having the knobs on the right speaker is more convenient then a separate control unit. I didn't give a 5 star rating because of the relatively short cables.

I've always been a fan of Logitech products and this speaker system replaced an older system. The "THX" name is a nice marketing ploy but even for the relatively low price, these speakers deliver powerful, crisp, and clear audio. The bass is insane. I've never been able to blast it at full-bass due to fear of being kicked out of my apartment.That said, I did knock it down a star because the cords are too short. I didn't want the large subwoofer sitting directly under my desk taking up my leg room, so I moved it about a foot away to the side of my desk. The cord barely reaches and is constantly in tension, so I have to disconnect everything if I want to move it or clean it. And then because the speaker's cords connect to the sub, they barely made it back to my desk and their cords are too in constant tension. Adding a little cord length to each component surely wouldn't impact the audio performance significantly...

These are by far the best speakers I have ever owned for my computer...The Bass is VERY powerful, it shakes nearby things and you can feel it rooms away.Even though I don't need to, I always have the bass all the way up (These speakers have taught me to love bass even more)However, I have gotten so into the sound and turned them up so loud that the sub started to put off a plasticey smell, so I had to turn them down. This occurred with Deadmau5+Full Bass+Realtek Settings+50% Volume On-Speaker and 100% Windows VolumeWhen I first got them they didn't quite sound right, but I suppose it's just because you have to get used to speakers. My old ones didn't have quite the same "Tightness" in their sound between the bass and treble... These clearly separate it and it sounds awesome.However, I must mention that I have tuned these speakers using the equalizer in Realtek HD Audio Manager. Here are the settings I used: [...]Overall I would recommend these speakers to anybody that has the money. They're not cheap but they're awesome.

This 2.1 system is just right for what I was looking for. Really nice clean highs and plenty of bass power for listening to stuff on my PC. What I like most is having all of the controls on the right speaker on my desk top. You have the power on, volume and bass level control right at your fingertips out in the front. Most other speakers for the computer do not have this. Makes adjustments simple and easy. Plus the price really is right. And Amazon.com shipped this heavy system for free. Wow.

These speakers sound absolutely great. The highs are clear, the mids are smooth, and the lows are rich and full. I was honestly surprised on how well the subwoofer produces low end bass. You can't beat this system for the price!

I must agree with other reviewers. The sound is only slightly better than your average computer speakers. The bass/subwoofer is prominent and there is little to no midrange. I live in a small appartment and I am using it to play my music off the cloud from my laptop. I would love being able to separate the speakers and sw more (cables too short). Maybe this would create a better listening experience and certainly more options for set up locations. Not bad for the money, but not the best choice for an entertainment system.

Though not an all around music system, these work ok for music. The base is awesome and is the best feature of these powerful speakers. So for Movies and Games at the current price you can not go wrong. If you listen to music at high volume, these are not going to work for you.

The first set received had a malfunction in the right speaker, but we received a replacement in a few days. From first order to delivery of second set was less that a week. The second set has been great. There is stereo sound with little distortion. I have never had a woofer on the computer so was very pleased with the quality of the sound. I recommend.

I did my research on numerous 2.1 Speaker sets from Bose to off-brands. Decided to go with these due to the great price point ($100), excellent reviews, and the fact they are THX certified. Bass is loud, highs are clear. System looks awesome with my setup. Unfortunately I was shipped a defective left speaker and didn't find out until after the exchange time frame was over. But Logitech support is great and will be able to replace it at no cost to myself. Unfortunately due to my location outside the USA I have to replace the item with a local spec model. Which would be 220v instead of 110v. Not a problem as I will sell before I move back to the US so I can buy another one!Great buy! Highly recommended!

Great 2.1 system with very high quality for an amazing deal!The frequencies the sub can handle are beyond what I expected for something of this price, easily outputting at 20-30hz!The only problem I have is that literally everyone in my dorm can hear my THX certified sound (on all 4 floors).I would recommend this product to any audiophile or a music/film lover with a keen ear.

I've used the low-powered Logitech X220 ($40 retail) for the last six years and I love it immensely. It is never harsh, sounds great at low volume, is full of detail, the sub is perfect (and a perfect crossover). I thought I'd upgrade to the Logitech Z623 or Klipsch 2.1 after reading reviews. I got the Z623 a few days ago and it is very exciting. It is very powerful and there is very good detail. It's a little different from my X220: the z623 sub will thump if used above 50% which I hate and I noticed that the bass control effects the vocals (the vocals can sound distant and the bass/mid-bass in the voice changes fairly drastically). I don't like that the speakers are angled so much cause I listen to them straight on and the bottoms of the speakers are sort of rounded and I can't set them up straight w/o putting something underneath them. The satellites produce lots of bass and mid bass and sound really good if you set the bass correctly - the bass can sound unrealistic if you set it too high and it drowns out the rest of the music. I think these speakers sound best when the bass is set low. My opinion on the sub performance is up in the air right now and the port in the sub is on the side (I don't know why). Overall, I definitely think that the z623 can rival any bookshelf speaker around. These speakers are designed very well and they're complex - they sound good at high and low volumes and they have depth. I'm going to learn to love these speakers I think and I think it should probably do anything you want it to do the more that I listen to it. It seems very, very versatile and leans on audiophile quality. I always trust Logitech products.

I ordered these speakers to replace my aged and finally broken Boston Acoustics computer speakers. These speakers were easy to set up out of the box and have an amazing sound. The bass can be overpowering but the bass dial allows you to quickly adjust it. They are adequate for a large room as my computer desk is in the middle of a very large living / dining room and I have no trouble playing music loudly throughout the entire first floor of the house. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for a great sound at an affordable price.

The bass is bumping and the music is loud! I love these speakers. They definitely dwarf what I had before on my computer. You won't be disappointed. So why only 4 stars? Well songs at loud levels can become distorted. For $100 speakers I can live with that.

Do NOT buy the cheaper logitech speakers. I owned one of them for about an hour and returned it. It had a horrid Buzzzz that would not go away no matter what I did to my settings.These speakers on the other hand are perfect and amazing. They sound like $10,000 speakers. No buzz, no distortion, crisp and clear sounding. They also give a full range of sound and have an adjustable sub. If you want the room to shake that's no problem. If you want to turn it off so others in the house can sleep still no problem. I have seen hundreds of speakers (I used to build computers) and these are the only ones I recommend. That being said I am familiar with the more expensive logitech line up and unless your going to set it up for cinema/movie watching and you want surround sound then there is a need for the other logitech lineup. Otherwise these are the speakers for you. Most music sounds better from these two(3 with the sub) speakers than from having speakers everywhere.

I upgraded from Creative InspireT12's and it was a huge jump in quality compared to those...these speakers have incredibly detailed sound and the bass is strong, but not overpowering. It is just strong enough to drive my family crazy :) buy these and you won't regret it. For the price, it's a steal!

This is a bit bigger than though but this system is great for both talk radio and music! They have good grip to keep them in place. Nice finishing, the base could use some more work on that but over all looks nice! You will not blow out windows with this but enough to annoy the neighbors and any one in the house.

It sounds amazing if its super loud or really quite. The bass is phenomenal for the size. I live in a dorm and i get complaints not just from the rooms above and below me, but from their neighbors down the hall too! The sound quality is great and the sub hits hard. It doesn't really compare to my cars system (two 12" kickers) but for a dorm room, bedroom and living room it will definitely do the job. I very highly recommend this 2.1 system. Also movies sound amazing.

Picked these up to go with a projector purchase for home movies. It's quite loud and provides great stereo sound. I didn't need 5.1 or anything fancy like that, so this set fit the bill perfectly and was at a great price for the features received. Setup was easy and they are easy to use.
